  • DMS on SDN WIKI

    Hi DMS community,
    for all who does not know that there is also a special DMS WIKI area in the SDN I will provide the direct link here: [DMS WIKI startpage|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/plm/sapDocumentManagement+%28CA-DMS%29]
    Please feel free to post in this thread your opinion on the existing DMS pages but also proposals for new topics or changes. Your feedback will help to increase the quality of the DMS WIKI in the future.
    However please feel free to add your pages as well. At the moment you can just create a new page and link them to the DMS startpage by adding the correct label. These labels are at the moment the following:
    Document Distribution - dms_dcd
    Document Conversion - dms_con
    Document Search - dms_rtv
    Document ECL Viewer  - dms_eai
    EasyDMS - dms_eui
    Customizing - dms_edt
    So for all pages you create please assign the necessary label. With the label the page will be correctly added to the relevant header topic.
    Another necessary thing to mention here is that you can get points for new WIKI pages. As moderator I will check the WIKI pages and the new entries and then assign points to you. I will try to not forget anyone who added a new page. In case this happens, please post here in the thread to contact me.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

    Adding to what sanasrinivas wrote above...user will have to login the again  if your application opens in a GUI interface and from that GUI screen you are opening some report in Browser.
    Remember that T-codes made for wda can execute both in GUI and Browser, If you execute them in Browser you wont have to login again and again but yes, if you execute 1 application in GUI and open some other t-code in browser , you will have to enter the login details again...so if you want to have hassle free execution you will have to open the reports in browser always.

  • Cannot Record Material Inspection Results as per wiki use case * SOLVED *

    === EDIT ===
    Playing around, I solved my issue.
    I did not realize that I needed to set both flags
    CloseIndicatorSpecified  = true;
    CloseIndicator = false;
    Adding that fixed it; I suspect I cannot set them to null even if the WSDL allows it.
    Michel.
    === ORIGINAL POST ===
    Hi,
    I have a project to integrate SAP and our LIMS using the SAP web services with the Material Inspection business object.
    In the Wiki, there are a few [use cases|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/ESpackages/IntegrationofQualityManagementSystems] on the subject.
    Following that, I successfully retrieve all the required data using the following web services:
    [Find Material Inspection Basic Data by Elements|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ESpackages/FindMaterialInspectionBasicDatabyElements]
    [Find Material Inspection Subset Operation by Elements|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ESpackages/FindMaterialInspectionSubsetOperationbyElements]
    [Find Subset Operation Inspection Activity Basic Data by Elements|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ESpackages/FindSubsetOperationInspectionActivityBasicDatabyElements]
    [Read Subset Operation Inspection Activity|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ESpackages/ReadSubsetOperationInspectionActivity]
    From there, I want to record results. According to the Wiki , I should use
    [Record Subset Operation Inspection Activity Result|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ESpackages/RecordSubsetOperationInspectionActivity+Result]
    I tried directly through the [WS Navigator|http://sr.esworkplace.sap.com/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcesiespwsnavui/WSNavigator] to test web services. Whenever go through that tho, I get the following error:
    Conversion Error: Invalid Input Format (701 SFB)
    Obviously, I get the exact same error using c# (at least I'm consistent!)
    Below is the code (some is truncated because it is too long but I think you can get the idea).
    The question: Can anyone help me understand why I am getting that error? Maybe there is one or more property I don't understand... It would be practical if the actual failing property was identified in the LogItem, but it is not.
    Some things I tried (to no avail):
    1. Tried all sort of combination for actionCode
    2. Removed actionCode and set actionCodeSpecified = false
    3. Removed the Measure property
    4. Removed the Text property
    5. Removed the ChangeStateID
    Thanks in advance!

  • Points for Wiki contribution

    Hi everyone,
    I want to know how long does it take for the moderator to award points for a Wiki contribution.
    I had contibuted by submitting content on Wiki and creating a new page on August 26, 2009. I had raised the request to moderator to award points but I have not been awarded any points yet.
    Is there a way to find the status of our pending points ?
    Thanks.
    Mohammed Tauseef Ahmed
    Edited by: MD TAUSEEF AHMED on Sep 12, 2009 1:56 PM

    Hi Michael,
    It is an interesting problem how to fairly and accurately integrate the wiki contributions to the points of the rest of the system.
    At the SDN Day in Amsterdam I am having a discussion session around Online Reputation where we will discuss that aspect too.
    Wiki pages have many authors and are never finished. That leaves us with two problems to solve, when to give points and to whom?
    My current thinking is to change that by letting the community suggest excellent contributors and their contributions.
    I created a page on the wiki for exactly that. It is an experiment and will be done manually which is not scalable, but it will give us insights into how to create the automated version.
    If you stumble over some excellent content on the wiki, please check the author and suggest it on the Wiki Points page:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/wiki+points&
    As always open for improvement suggestions, Mark.

  • Where can I find this wiki page?

    I have set up a watch on the portal wiki page, and a few days ago I got this link emailed to me <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/ep/ep&focusedcommentid=11662">the link</a>. Now, I can find this link by clicking on it, but a few interesting questions came to mind.
    1 - Why can't I find this link under the main portal wiki page?  I assume the person who wrote the comment found the page, but I couldn't!
    2 - When I click the link, I don't see the comment, but I see the page (My Home -> Portal -> ep). Ok, there's no content on the page, but I can't see the fact that there is a comment. Can the Comments tab have a counter after it, so I think to look there?
    Thanks

    Keith wrote: "How do we create worksets?" probably would have a better chance in a forum, wouldn't it?
    I would certainly agree.  Also, I believe this page is an orphan in a matter of speaking and should indeed be deleted as it has no content.
    Best method would be to advise both the creator of the page and point him/her to the existing wiki "Main" page under Portal  <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/Main">My Home > Portal > Main</a> (I've done that).  Also perhaps the moderator should do the deleting.
    I'm also pinging the author of the question to suggest his/her question is moved to forum.
    thanks.
