  • Three of us ail fail to connect at the same time?

Something is really wonky with iChat. There are three of us that video chat almost daily. All of a sudden none of us can connect! I mean literally overnight! No one has made changes to their system. These are three G5 macs in three separate locations (in the same county).
Two are running Tiger, I'm running Panther 10.3.9.
It's really strange. We can text, but not video. No one can initiate the call. Everyone is getting "Failure to connect" after an invitation is issued. Two are on Earthlink, DSL, one is on through a local provider's DSL.
Everything worked fine yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. Could it be a local phone company issues? I believe everyone in the county, regardless of ISP, is transported out of here on Sprint equipment. No other network usage (Mail or Safari, .mac or FTP seem to be affected.)
    swampy

    Issue resolved!
I called Sprint DSL tech support (of course their first question was, "Have you called Apple?). After explaining to the tech that I had made no system/network changes, that iChat was the most "visible" of problems with my online experience (Safari just stopping while trying to load a page and Mail just churning away to receive or send mail), and that I was a long time modem user (since 1983) and not a novice....
The tech was able to ping me from his equipment and said it was the worst latency issue he'd ever seen and that both my up/down rates were FAR beyond Spring DSL minimal standards for 3Mbps service he'd ever seen.
He sent a Sprint repairman to my house the next day to replace the DSL splitter on my line and added filters (I guess to supress any line noise) and overnighted a brand new modem which arrived an hour after the repairman left. All at no charge to me.
Installed the new modem, reset my router and badah bing! Up and running and iChatting with all my online buddies!!!!
I have no idea what caused the splitter to go bad, but apparently it happens. I was very impressed with Sprint's customer service.

  • X4100 LOM problems out of the box

Straight out of the box I am having trouble connecting to lom. Using a serial cable I can connect and see the lom service start after power is connected, when the login line appears i loose control of the session. Any ideas? I don't know what the IP address is set to so I can't setup via browser.

Well, I took my 16GB iPhone 3g (white) back to the Apple Store today and the Genius looked it over -- said that's the first keyboard problem he's seen come in and mentioned that it was strange the "dead zone" on the touch screen was vertical since, according to him, most "dead zones" tend to be horizontal areas. He said the touch screen matrix is laid out in three horizontal bands on the screens.
Bottom line: he gave me a new working iPhone 3g.
He did mention that all returned iPhone 3g's are being sent directly back to the iPhone 3g engineering team for full "autopsies", not just sent back to factory for refurb. He said they want to fully diagnose and understand what defects are out there so as to solve the root cause moving forward.

  • Restrict Users To Connect Database

    Dear All,
Actually I am working in oracle ERP R12 and I want to control users to connect database only invited nodes are connected to database through sqlnet.ora file. I set parameter in sqlnet.ora file below:
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)
    TCP.VALIDNODE_CHECKING = YES
    #tcp.excluded_nodes = {list of IP addresses}
    TCP.INVITED_NODES = {172.16.72.63}
this is working in database but in erp environment this is not working any one please help me!!!
    Regards,

Can you elaborate a bit on "not working"? What, exactly, is the behavior you're seeing? What is the behavior you expect? Are you getting errors? If so, what errors?
In the "ERP environment", are users connecting via a client/ server application? Or via a three-tier application? Assuming a three-tier application, are you trying to invite the nodes of the application servers? Or of the end clients (or, potentially, the web servers)?

  • No Connection unless use Verizon AirCard

I get the cannot connect or declined invitation message when I try to Ichat with my nephew. Worked well until 4 weeks ago. My computer is a mac book pro and the irony is that if I connect wired or wirelessly I can not connect, but if I put in my air card we can video chat.
I have also bought another Mac book pro and out of the box I can Ichat wired and wirelessly where the other can not. What setting in the original mac book pro could be causing this since I have same streaming speed in Q time and video are the same?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is driving me banannas. Thanks

    HI BWP,
So the Quicktime setting on Both computers is not the Automatic one and hopefully 1.5mbps ?
The Mac Firewall Is Off ?
    The Permissions have been Repaired.
In iChat > Preferences > Video section what does the Bandwidth Limit drop down say ?
    Set it to NONE.
How are the ports set in you modem ?
    Is this a wireless/modem combined device ?
It is possible (if we have to ) to reinstall just iChat.

  • Why ichat says am not responding when i'm the one who's inviting a chat?

my brother-in-law and i used to ichat. we downloaded "iglasses" and still there's no problem until there was this time all of a sudden(?) we can't connect. whenever each one of us invites the other, there is a funny (?) remark why we are not connecting - one who invites is not responding???? we send the details to apple....very long descriptions of error...
the funny thing is whenever somebody invites both of us in a videoconference we are able to connect.
he trashed the "iglasses" and upon the instructions of the apple rep, he reinstall all software including ichat...on my end, i trashed the "iglasses" (by simply dragging the application folder to trash and empty?) BUT i am very reluctant to re-install all software...i have some important updates etc....that i'm not sure i'm willing to risk to revert to my original factory set-up..
will opening up ports as what apple has instructed "configure your network" helps?
    would appreciate help. thanks.

    Yeah, I feel your pain.
I've learned that the "failed to respond" message is
actually cryptic computer geek speak for "Sir, one or
more of the ports the computer needs for iChatAV
communication is not open or unavailable".
There is handshaking going on behind the scenes
between the two computers, and the computers use
certain ports between the modems to carry on this
conversation. As one or both of the computers use
these ports a "failed to repsond" message will appear
if one of these handshakes fails.
Do you ever see "Error -8" as an error message? If
so, that would confirm the port issue.
You may want to contac RJinWI on this forum for more
    help.
thanks for your help. truly appreciate the advice...
i did actually read on the details of the error---those long jargon which for me is very "scary". i think i read on one of those lines error 8 (?). anyway, i did try to open "configure one's network" and now, am faced with numbers of ports to open for choices between configurations A and B...ports for incoming or outgoing packets...ports like TCP or UDP...concerns like making mac osx firewall active but not being able to send huge files versus opening all ports but be vulnerable...which numbers i would type in the ports...so on and so forth ...so decided to join this discussion....
I read on one of those emails exchange in this forum by RJinWI about similar problem -- -"not being able to connect thru ichat"...i guess will need to contact him/her as you have advised. thanks again.

  • Database connectivity toolset and microsoft access

    Bonjour,

    * Creating a Microsoft Data Link file (.UDL) for Connecting to Microsoft Access in LabVIEW
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/1D5EB4DCBD13106486256B9D005E11B0?OpenDocument
    Cordialement.

Messages will connect to any Screen Name valid with AIM listed in the System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars and enabled for Messages  (Or listed in the Messages > Preferences > Accounts)
Same for Jabber IDs (Includes Facebook iDs and GoogleMail IDs)
It will not do MSN/Hotmail/Live IDs without a bit of work

Do you have an Apple ID ending in @mac.com or @me.com as these are Valid AIM names ?
Or do you have an AIM Screen Name already ?

  • Two objects claim ownership of UID: U15536 Class: TextFrame

I have a problem : When I try to save a project of Muse or attempt to modify it, the error " : U15536 Class: Two objects claim ownership of UID. TextFrame "
I have installed the version 2014.2 CC Muse
    How I can fix it?
    Thankyou.

My sincere apologies for the disconnect. I searched the [email protected] case system and found no messages from your e-mail address. Perhaps the file was sent using a file sharing service or from a different e-mail address? We sometimes receive files from sharing services that provide no return e-mail address and that have no other information to connect the sharing invite with a forum thread or customer, so we're left with no way to reconnect with the customer.
I'm personally far less active on the forums since the first of the year. My primary role on Muse has always been as a Developer. I've historically spent a lot of my own time and too much of my work time here on the forum, versus directly working on developing Muse. Since the first of the year, I'm redirecting my time to development. I'm no longer reading every message or checking forum traffic on a regular basis, so I didn't see you last two messages until now.
If you send your current .muse file to [email protected], I'll see that it gets repaired and returned in a timely fashion. If you send a second message with no attachment directly to me, [email protected], I'll confirm the message to [email protected] was received.
We very recently had a break through and determined the pattern of activity that can lead to this damage within a file. We have a fix currently in testing that will be included in the next release (in a few weeks).

  • Conference link with login and password included

    Hi,
I have been trying to find a way to make Adobe Connect send meeting invitation e-mails with login and password included in the link - unfortunately to no avail.
Does anyone know, if it's at all possible to do it and if so, how it's done?
I'm still on a trial version, but I've been assured, that it shoudn't be a problem.
Thanks in advance for any hints!
    Kamil

OK, I played with it and here is how I got it to work:
    Appending the URL:
The URL would need to be appended with /?login=username&password=password. The "api/xml?action=" string was incorrect. I verified that this does work.
The full URL would look similar to this: http://realeyesconnect.adobeconnect.com/bestroomever/?login=myusername&password=drowssap
The login can also be done programmatically. You would need to do the following steps to get the log-in to be automatic.
Log the individual into the server:http://YourServerURL/api/xml?action=login&login=username&password=password
Should return a value of OK
Get the BREEZESESSION cookie for the user:
    http://YourServerURL/api/xml?action=common-infoShould show a value similar to this:<cookie>na3breezr59qzu2pp2qy4zdm</cookie>
Log the user in to the room with the cookie:http://YourServerURL/RoomLink/?session=na3breezr59qzu2pp2qy3zdm
Guest names can also be added to the url link. These options are described here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/connect/9.0/webservices/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a171dd2d4-7 ff4_SP1.html

  • Error occurred installing iOS 5.1 for iPad 2

Anyone else getting an error message for the iPad 2 stating there was an error installing iOS 5.1?

Xstrand, you are ignorant, offer no useful information, and then you have the nerve to have a nasty attitude. The questioner states the update had already been downloaded, and the problem was with insatallation, not connection.
I invite you to spare the community any further "help".  Retire. Thank you.

  • Switch in Teststand

Not sure if this is a Switch Exec or Teststand question.
In Teststand I can "Insert a Step>IVI-C> SWITCH"  If I select "Edit Switch" a drop down appears. If the "ACTION" is to "0-Connect" and the "Route(s) to Disconnect" is ALSO populated does it disconnect that route in additon to connecting the one in the "Route(s) to connect" field???
I've included a screen cap.  Even though the action is to connect does it disconnect too because that field is populated??  Using type c relays...not a mux if that helps.

    Hello Clint,
Even though the field is populated, the route will not be disconnected until you call a Disconnect or the Connection Lifetime has expired.  Sorry for the confusion, I will file a Product Suggestion to clear the Disconnect field if the action is set to Connect.  I invite you to do the same at the Product Suggestion Center.
