SE-YARI- Can't connect to 3G network after having used it for almost an year on the same phone. :(

HI, i use a sony ericsson Yari phone that i bought in March '10, and i have been using BSNL 3G network on it for quite some time now.. But for the past few weeks i can't connect to a 3G HSDPA network. at times the display shows "NO access to network" and at other times i can't make calls from the phone though the phone shows coverage in the top left corner in the display.. My phone has been updated with the latest software upgrades. Reinstalled the software from the SE site through update srvice twice last week. What could possibly be wrong??
My doubts are:
1) Is it a prob i can troubleshoot myself or does it need to be given to the service centre?
2) If it has to be repaired at the service centre, how long will it take them to resolve this prob? I ask this specifically because the last time i gave my phone in for some display prob they took an annoying TWO MONTHS!!
I love my phone.. And i can't live without intrnet on the go.
P.S. Let me put in some additional info.. the phone works fine on the GSM network and the GPRS is ok too. Jus that the slooooow net speeds test my patience.
Yes, my phone supports 3G , my network supports 3G and my sim is a registered 3G sim. (and pls MODS, don't advice me to chek if ther is 3G coverage at my location, coz ther is and i ve been using 3G for quite awhile). The sim and the network work fine on any other phone when i checked(incidentally, on a Sony Ericsson ELM).

I know you checked the SIM in another phone and it seems OK, but it might still be worth trying another 3G SIM in your phone.Otherwise, it could be an issue with the SIM card module in the phone.

  • Can't connect to wireless network after Mac OS update

    I just bought a mid-2007 Macbook (2x2 GHz, 2 Gb), which came with OS X 10.5.1 installed.
I connected to my wireless network (WPA2 Personal) without any problems and ran Software Update. This worked fine, including updating to 10.5.3.
But now I can no longer connect to the wireless network. It either times out when I enter the password, and/or crashes the Network Preferences.
I tried re-installing the system, but the installer said it couldn't install on this mac. That happened both with the 10.4.6 discs I got with the Macbook and with the 10.5 disk that came with my iMac.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi tankfield
Sandra has already addressed the reason why you can't use the wrong CD-ROM to re-install OS X.
However, the reason you had problems in the first place is that the 10.5.3 update contains some unacknowledged (by Apple) issues which cause flaky wireless connection. The same problem also appears on the latest update of Tiger. Apparently, not everyone is affected, but if you are then it's a real issue.
There appears to be no single solution, just several suggestions. Off the top of my head, these are:
    - In your wireless router, switch off Mixed mode and only use G or N
    - Change the wireless channel so it doesn't class with the neighbours router
    - Don't use WEP encryption, only WPA or WPA2 (good advice anyway)
    - Put AirPort first in Network Preferences, and your home network first in Preferred Networks
    - Create a dummy location which is a clone of Automatic
.... and many more - none of which worked for me.
Finally, today I came upon this one which (so far) seems to be working.
    - Start up Utilities/Terminal and type this command EXACTLY followed by return:
    sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0
(It will ask for your password)
In the unlikely event of this working for you, you will need to re-apply each time you reboot.
    Good luck

  • Can't Connect to WiFi Network After Changing Encryption

I have an iPod Touch that no longer connects to my wifi network at home.
Some background: I have an aipport extreme base station with three XP laptops, an iMac and a printer connected to it wirelessly. I use a WPA Personal password. My wife's iPhone connects without a problem.
I recently changed the password on the base station to WPA Personal because one of the laptops could not connect using WEP (solution to inconsistent hashing of 13 character password problem found elsewhere in this forum). Ever since changing the password, the iPod touch will not connect.
I have looked for, but cannot find the "Forget Network" button on the wifi network page on the iPod touch (I understand that button appears after you have successfully connected to the network). I have reset the iPod up to and including removing all data.
When I go into the settings>wifi menu, I see the network's SSID. When I input the password, I get a "cannot connect to . . . " message.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
    Thanks

  • How can i connect a windwos vista laptop with time capsule. Both are still in the same network

    Hi,
i have a running wlan network. In this network are a macbook pro, a Vista notebook and the time capsule. The Macbook runs perfectly with the time capsule, but how can I connect the vista machine with the time capsule?
    Thanks for help

The TC is SMB (windows networking protocol) compatible.
Is the issue wireless? Can you get internet via the TC?
Are you trying to access the hard disk?
Did you load the airport utility for windows..? If not please do so.. that at least is the first step. It loads bonjour for windows, and a connection agent.
Sometimes that is all that is required.
Open a windows explorer and type in the address bar
\\TCname or \\TCIPaddress .. obviously replacing the generic name with actual name or IP.
You might need to change all the names to SMB standard via the utility. Short no spaces pure alphanumeric.
You might need to fix the permissions.. ie turn on the guest account if security isn't an issue.
You might need to fix networking in the vista .. shudder.. notebook.. to ensure it is not blocking the TC.

    Hi abidmomin,
Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It appears that after updating your iPhone to iOS 8.2, you're not able to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
I recommend starting with the tips in this article to troubleshoot the situation:

  • Can´t connect to wireless network | unable to proceed installation

    Hello everybody!
After using Ubuntu for about two years I´d like to use another Linux distro which suits my requirements better and ArchLinux seems to be the best solution for me. Anyway I got some trouble with the installation.
I´m using the beginners guide from the wiki and this video as a reference while installing but I got stuck at the point when setting up the wireless network.
    wpa_supplicant -Dwext -ieth1 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf & >/dev/null
    ... outputs...
eth1: WPA: Invalid EAPOL-Key MIC when using TPTK - ignoring TPTK
eth1: WPA: Could not verify EAPOL-Key MIC - dropping packet
(this is the same error message btw)
It shows up this message every two seconds without stopping. The only thing I can then is shutting down my laptop and start from the beginning.
I also tried using netcfg but without real success. There it doesn´t complain but I don´t got a working connection either.
Another odd thing is that if I type
    /arch/setup
to begin the actual installation it says "no such file or directory". Any ideas what needs to be configured before or what I am doing wrong?
    Any help is appreciated!

    maddin wrote:
Ok, I followed the beginners guide now bit by bit. After entering the command
    wifi-menu eth1
I can select my network and enter the key which then displays this message:
nl80211: Driver does not support authentication/association or connect commands
Failed to connect to wpa_supplicant - wpa_ctrl_open: No such file or directory
I tried to install the firmware as the wiki suggests it but I didn´t succeed in using pacman as it doesn´t seem to find the required package (ipw2200-fw).
So how do I get this package then?
Dude. Use you wlan interface not the ethernet one.
    Eg: wifi-menu wlan0

  • Windows 10 Build 9926 - Can't connect to this network in certain networks

    Hello
     I have a Samsung 700T tablet.
Since I got the latest update 9926 I am having issues with my corporate network access. I have to type in my user name and password on the wireless connection. When I do I get "Can't connect to this network" message.
I have tried multiple drivers for the network card a "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235". I am currently using latest.
I am able to connect fine with my home Wifi.
On the "System" event log I get the following error message when I attempt to login no the WiFi.
"A fatal alert was received from the remote endpoint. The TLS protocol defined fatal alert code is 42"
     Any ideas?
I have checked and my card is set to use DHCP.
    God bless,
    Bruno
    ---  got this answer ----
Have you tried talking to your system administrator? We had a fun bug in our Cisco wireless access points and wireless controller that would
kick Win 8+ machines from even trying to connect. A very long firmware and software update process fixed it.
    --- answered back ----
    Hello DatAsian,
     Thank you for your response.
This is a very large wireless network, and as far that I know I am the only one having this issue. My other devices on the same cube work fine. The only difference is of course Windows 10. The other machines are Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.
In the past this was caused by a driver, but I have gotten about 6 different version of my wireless driver and they all have this issue.
I read on the troubleshoot about entering the wireless configuration manually by using the "Hidden network" screen. The instructions go:
    2. Tax or click to connect to a network
    3. Tap or click Hidden network tap or click Connect and then enter the network info.
I cannot find this "Hidden network" text on the "Connect to a network" screen. Am I missing something? Do I need to check something that allows me to connect to Hidden network?
One thing that I forgot to mention. I need to enter my user name and password when I enter this wireless network, since this is Employee Own device network.
    Any other ideas?
    God bless,
    Bruno
When I use an android device I had to do the following changes to the way the device connected to wireless:
    EAP Method: TTLS
    Phase 2 Authentication: PAP
Then I have to use my user name and password.
Is there a way to set windows to the same type of authentication?
    Please let me know.

  • Can't connect to WiFi networks via tray icon, manually adding works fine

I've searched for about a day for anyone having a similar issue and have come up with nothing so far.  I have an older HP laptop with Windows 7 32 bit that is having issues with connecting to WiFi networks.  It will find all available wireless
networks just fine, and when I select mine, it comes up with the prompt to enter my password, however when I hit OK to connect, the prompt disappears and nothing happens or responds afterwards.  A few things that I've tried in order to troubleshoot and
    narrow down the problem:
-I've tried connecting to two different wireless networks; one with WPA2 encryption and one with no encryption, both have the same issue (obviously the non-encrypted wireless network doesn't prompt for a password, but once I hit connect all prompts disappear
and acts as if I did nothing).
-I've added the WPA2 encrypted network manually to my list of wireless networks, and once I do this it connects just fine.  When removed, it disconnects and the issue happens again (this confirms that the wireless password I'm entering is correct and
that there are no issues with the wireless network itself, as well as other devices working flawlessly on the same wireless network).
-I've disabled all firewalls and antivirus through this whole process, did not make a difference.
-I've reset winsock which didn't make a difference.
-I've run a virus scan, no viruses on the laptop.
I've run out of ideas as to what would prevent being able to connect to a wireless network through the normal process of finding nearby access points, putting in your password, and having it work.  I understand that I could simply leave the wireless
network added manually, but this is not an option for when the laptop is taken elsewhere as having to add whatever wireless network I'm near manually is not something that should have to be done.

I would recommend to update the driver for you wireless nic as a first step. Also, if installed, get rid of third party utilities that 'manage' your wireless network(s)
    Also check if you can
clear out the remembered connections i've encountered issues before when a network with same ssid but different connection settings was stored by windows.
