Seagate SN06 firmware for the Seagate Barracuda ES.2

Oh Dear!
Despite emailing Seagate, and consulting their Knowledge base, we cannot locate the lovely firmware for the ES.2 drives [the SN06 firmware] to get our system up and running again.
If anyone is in the know, we'd love some info or advice.
Best wishes,
Macintosh Lou and all the sound designers who are twidding their thumbs.

Hi,
I just did it after burning the ISO in the CD.
While booting I got the first call to initDisk, where it provided way to skip some loading (like config.sys and so on)... I didn't do anything, I left it run normally.
After few seconds it was showing me the readme file automatically.
I pressed F10 to quit the view and it gave me the prompt to load the firmware for 750GB and 1000GB disks (this image was working for both sizes).
I chose my disk size, then the system searched and recognized my disk properly (I checked and it did display my disk's S/N and model properly, including notice that I had SN05 on it).
Then it started uploading the firmware and finally it asked to power cycle the PC for proper finalization.
I did press enter and it shutdown the MacPro.
I then restarted with only that disk inserted and again the FreeDos sequence came up.
I shut it down again (I think it was unnecessary) and I proceeded re-installing all the other HDD in their original locations.
Booted from MacOs X and all was perfect (at least I hope this SN06 will fix forever the issue).
Hopefully you will get into this same point.
Cheers,
Armando.

  • Cannot find the latest firmware for the Toshiba 40TL838G

    Hi,
I'm trying to download the last firmware for the model 40TL838G but I can't find it.
    Where can I find it?
    Thank you.

Are you sure that TV is connected to internet properly?
How did you connect it? LAN / WLan stick (TOSHIBA Dual Band WLAN-Adapter WLM-20U2)?
In some cases it could be possible that some routers dont pass the firmware update due to locked ports. In such case you should check your router configuration. As additional option you could try to test the TV in connection with another network

  • Need new firmware for the drive (Mat****a UJDA750)

I have a Satellite M30 with a Mat****a UJDA750 combo drive. Does anyone know where I could get a new firmware for the drive?
    Thx.

    Hi,
It would be up to Toshiba to release an official firmware update for this drive and at the moment they do not have one.
You could of course look at 3rd party sites such as cdfreaks.com.

  • Downgrading Firmware for the Superdrive

    Hey there everyone.
I have a G4 Quicksilver that I'm trying to install OSX onto. I have retail purchased installer discs, but for some reason the computer will not boot from them. I suspect the firmware for the Superdrive. It will boot from CDs that have OS9 on them, but not OSX. I remember updating the firmware a while ago and experiencing some quirkiness in its performance, but not enough to warrant further investigation. When I try to install firmware updates now, either it tells me I've already done it, or that it's not the right firmware upgrade. Is there a way to go back? If I do, will the OSX installer tell me to reinstall the firmware update before I go any further?
    Thanks, Ninja Bob

Hi, NinjaBob. There is rarely, if ever, any way to downgrade the firmware of anything after updating it.
Do you just have one OS X installer disc set? If so, examine Disc 1 of that set very carefully for dirt, scratches, smudges, fingerprints, and pinholes in the data layer. It's possible that a disc defect is at the root of your difficulty, and your drive is fine.

  • Where is the Firmware for the Zen Sleek Ph

    Hi,
I've been having problems with my Zen Sleek Photo ever since I bought it 2 months ago. Every so often it would freeze on boot-up, so I would have to reset it with a pin to get it to start up. This morning it started going really haywire so I decided to reload the firmware - of course, my disks are at home and when I looked on the creative site here at work, there was no sign of any firmware for the Zen Sleek Photo (it's almost like Creative don't realise this product exists!). Anyway, where can I download the latest firmware?

I think Creative should add the Sleek Photo to the player list in downloads and add the latest version there (I have version .0.0e). I ordered my player in December (for Christmas). There are a few issues that I have addressed in my "A few annoyances with Zen Sleek Photo 20GB (Request)" thread.
Sadly there has not yet been an update to fix the artist listings etc. as mentioned in my thread
I got in contact with another Creative Zen Sleek Photo user who also li'ves in Switzerland and has the same problems (tracks not been sorted correctly even with correct ID3 tags, which work in many many Windows applications).
By the way, sadly the Sleek Photo gets a load of dust under the screen too, unless you are very careful. I have been unable to remove most of the dust even using compressed air! I would rather not have to get it replaced because of this (unless Creative makes a slightly new casing model to prevent dust under screen) as I would probably end up paying rather a lot for postage (it's going indirectly through another company)
I hope there shall soon be a firmware update addressing these things,
Thanks for any response to this,

  • How to install firmware for the WRT54G

I have downloaded the newest firmware for this router, but the file is a .bin. There is no .cue, .iso or other file associated with it. How do I open this file, or burn it?
I tried creating a .cue file using a .txt text editor:
    FILE "WRT54Gv5v6_v1.02.2_fw.bin" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00,
    and renamed it WRT54Gv5v6_v1.02.2_fw.cue
Roxio's Creator Classic will burn it to a CD, but when I try to load it by inserting the disk, the disk is blank - but shown as 100% used in raw format.
Any suggestions? Why would Linksys provide this firmware in this truly complicated format?

You point your browser at http://192.168.1.1/ This is the LAN IP address of the router inside your LAN. You can connect to this address when you are connected to the router. You don't need internet for that.
The router came with a firmware preinstalled. Without the firmware the router is just a piece of junk. The configuration program on the CD only sends settings to the working and operating router, i.e. a router which is running its firmware. You can update the firmware by uploading a new firmware file to the router. But there was no firmware on the CD nor was it installed anywhere during initial setup. The router came with a firmware otherwise you could not use it.
Just go to http://192.168.1.1/ and click on the Administration tab. The firmware upgrade function is somewhere on a subtab. You'll see a browse button with which you select the firmware file you downloaded before. Once you press the Upgrade button (please only do it if you really want to upgrade the firmware!) the browser sends the selected firmware file to the router where it will be installed after the router reboots itself.
There is no point installing it from a CD as you only have to transfer the file to the router. Burning it to a CD only to load it from the CD does not make a different. As you have mentioned it does not make a difference where the firmware file is. Only as you have to download it anyway and then just transfer it to the router there is no point in burning it on a CD. You upload it to the router and that's it. Afterwards you delete the file because you don't need it anymore and you can download the latest firmware from linksys.
When you write "DSL, cable and even VoIP modems" upgrading using any OS, did you ever do it? How exactly did you do it? Are you sure there is an updater for MacOS? Linux? Solaris? ... I think most modems will do it in a similar fashion using a browser upload.
I don't understand what the problem is with this kind of firmware upgrade for you. It works very well and is often used. Many devices have browser interfaces nowadays and thus it is only natural you do the firmware upgrades the same way. The router can be upgraded using tftp as well. However, there are a few pitfalls with this method and often you'll need a command line prompt to run it. But these are the only possibilities to send the firmware file to the router and somehow you have to get it there.

  • New Firmware for the mic

I installed the new firmware into my micro, and now when i go into media source it doesnt come up. i cannot see my micro in it, I had to use windows explorer drag and drop. is there any way for me to get my mediasource to recognize my micro? thanks in advance to whomever can help me.

    Popshuvit3,
If you installed the MTP software (v2) then Mediasource will not work with the Zen Micro. You can download updated versions of Zen Media Center for the configuration and Outlook syncing options. For transferring, Windows Media Player 0 will now replace Mediasouce.

  • Downgrading Firmware for the WRT54G... I can't do it...

Hello, I am using the WRT54G wireless router, which currently has the 8.0.01 firmware. That's what it came with when i bought it.
I am trying to downgrade the firmware to either 3.01.3 or 3.03.6. I want to downgrade to one of those because Xbox said that those two are confirmed to be Xbox LIVE compatible.
I have been having trouble connecting to games with other people online with this router/firmware.
I downloaded the firmware "WRT54GV3.0_3.03.6_US_code" and "WRT54GV3.0_3.01.3_US_code," but when I try to install them, it says "invalid code pattern." like three times overlapping eachother above the progess bar.
It says that error because that firmware is for the WRT54G V3.0 and I guess mine is the WRT54G V8.0? I don't really know.. Is there anyone else with this router that has Xbox LIVE?
    What can I do?
Thanks for all help in advance,
    Christian

Your router comes in several versions.  Each version has different hardware in it, and because of this, each version needs its own firmware.  You can only use the firmware that is posted for your version of the router.  I assume you have version 8 of the router, if so, you cannot use the firmware written for version 3.
If the router's version is not clearly stated on its tag (usually on bottom of router), then go to Wikipedia.org and search for "WRT54G", then, using your router's serial number, you can find out which version of the router you have.

  • How to unlock firmware for the Intex Cloud Fx (Spreadtrum sc6821 chipset)?

I was looking for an update for the past few months for my Intex Cloud Fx , which is up-to-date to 1.3
I then realized that a new version is under development (Firefox OS 2.0 unstable), still I am stuck with the same touch lagging operating system even though its stable.
It was hard for me to get the adb working without the android sdk installed ,by searching for the right driver for Spreadtrum sc6821 for windows. Once I paired it , the Webide worked fine with the phone and I enjoyed the app install experience!
My main censure is that I do not know how to install my own build of Firefox OS(OS currently in GitHub, code name Tarako Supported) without unlocking the firmware device(by the way the carrier is unlocked). Developers mentioned in the Firefox forum stating that, my device is firmware locked.
Here is the question, there are tools for the ZTE variants for unlocking the firmware but is there a tool for my device ?
I had googled couple of times and searched various forums but I could not find it!
There is no hope of my device getting an official update!
(Intex has a worse reputation as a Smartphone provider, still I bought it for the hopes of Firefox OS ecosystem )

    Hi ram19890,
I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with your Intex Cloud FX device. Unfortunately, version 2.0 and above are not compatible with your device due to the low memory specifications.
For information and questions on how and if you can update your device, please contact your phone's manufacturer who maintains the OS that runs on those phones.
