Hi TW222,
Below I have attached a reply that I gave to someone else with a similar problem on this forum.  The engine you have is contemporary, but I did not work on it at HP and I am not sure it provides the same messaging.  The note below has the error "Remove Shipping Lock" but you suggest sealing tape error (It is the SAME thing).  Please respond if this solution helps in your case.  We have seen the error in several different machines with non-HP cartridges, but the 1215 I have not heard of similar reports.

    Hi Swathi
This is clearly a space problem. There is not enough free space left to perform the backup..
So you need to make sure that there is enough space available for backup...
    This part of error:
R252E Function fflush() failed for '/oracle/CRD/sapbackup/bdvozytd.tib' at location main-9
<b>R253E errno 28: No space left on device</b>
R121E Processing log file /oracle/CRD/sapbackup/bdvozytd.tib failed
clearly states that the issue is related to space on the device..
So clean up the space and try taking the backup again and it will be surely a success!
    No need for media recovery.

  • Insert Edit to Tape Error

Having a problem with the insert function of edit to tape. I lay a program off to beta tape using the Edit to tape mode. Of course, I'll find a mistake in the program and try to insert a correction. Sometimes it works fine. Other times I get the following error code:
"The deck may be unable to perform the edit since the duration is only 1 frame."
The video I'm trying to insert certainly doesn't have a duration of 1 frame. The edit to tape window has an "In" marked, but no out so there is no duration in that window either. No amount of restarting the program, computer, deck or AJA will correct this.
What in world is going on, and how do I fix it?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.3.5)

FCP Rescue "trashes" your existing preferences. It also can save your preferences when you know them to be in an uncorrupted state, so the next time you have any problems, you can restore your backup preferences as opposed to trashing them.
Repairing preferences is an activity performed by /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app and should be done on a regular basis... Crank up that program and it should be pretty self explanatory.

  • Edit to Tape error

I'm having an error of: "Unable to open the specified Video Output device" when trying to assemble to my DV camcorder. I have been able to use this feature before. I'm able to control my camcorder using the Edit to Tape window and set the in point. I know I can bypass this problem by Printing to Tape, but I want my sequence to start at a specific time, and I want to lay down black, bars and title beforehand.
    Any help is appreciated,
    reicko†

Could be the tape... the error message is saying that it can't read the timecode in effect... tried another tape?
If it fails again, could be the camera needs a cleaning or adjustment. If the recording isn't exactly right, you'll see TC errors then worse...
If it were some sort of software bug, we'd all see the problem...
Just for kicks you could try trashing prefs, but if all else seems to be OK, then it's more likely the tape or the camera. Cleaning cassette?

  • Exporting Editted Video to Tape Error

    Hi,
I am really out of ideas. for months now after editing my programme on Final cut pro 5, when I want to master back to tape using the 'Print to video' option, it starts well. After some minuites into the mastering process, the whole screen will shatter for a second or two and then, the pictures on my master and my computer will become out of sync with each other. This happens at times twice over a 26mins programme. its really iriitating and this shattering of screen goes into the master tape version. Any suggestions Please?
I will really appreciate it as I am desperate to resolve this.
Thanks for your help in adavance.

    Two suggestions -
    1. Select ALL clips in your timeline and then do Render All > Video and then do Render Only > Mixdown Audio. Then save your project.
    2. I have never had consistent results with Print to Video. When I need to print to tape, I just play the timeline instead of using Print to Video. Results have been much more reliable for me that way.

  • Initialize Tape error using DB13

    Hello everyone,
I'm just a beginner in SAP as Basis Administrator. I'm trying to simulate the Online Backup using the BRTOOLS, wherein you manually set the volume_group for tape, the initialize tape and backup is successful. When i used db13 doing the initialize tape, it was tagged as SCRATCH that makes my backup failed.
I want to know, why and how will the initialization of tape using DB13 be a success? Why it was tagged as SCRATCH? I want to make this work so i can schedule online backup to our PROD server.
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi,
go to init<SID>.sap and check this parameter are set or not

    volume_archive = (SIDA01, SIDA02, SIDA03, SIDA04, SIDA05..........)
if not check with you hardware vendor and ask for tape lebel name

  • Conforming hdv to tape errors

    hi any help is appreciated
finished my hdv edit its 36minutes long
stunned by how great the hdv quality is ,
but when print to video ,it takes say 2 hours then it starts repeating itself ,i am now trying the copy and paste the timeline into a new sequence .
it was working last night but i pressed the space bar and stopped it ,and been trying ever since and getting more frustrated.
    cheers

Sounds normal actually. HDV is an MPEG compression, so it has to rebuild the "GOP" (Group of Pictures) structure of the edited piece before it can lay it back to tape. I'm afraid it's a long process...

  • Some Info About Various Internals Sealing Tapes Used To Repair iBook G3/G4

Hi there. I fix people's old iBook G3's/G4's out of warranty and usually install bigger and faster hard drives and other parts in the laptops. There are several types of holding tapes inside a laptop, yellow, cloth black, a silver thick type and a thick white basically. Sometimes when I carefully peel back the silver and even the yellow tapes for repairs, after reassembly, the tapes don't stick or hold as well. Some break and peel off. I would rather just put fresh tape after my repairs, but I need to know exactly what kind of tapes to order and where to get them. Sometimes the tapes are missing in addition to various small millimeter screws seen in the manuals.
Can anyone who works on iBooks tell me about where I can buy these tapes and what types I need to order.
    Thanks Steve

If nobody knows, you might contact the sales staff at ifixit and ask them if they could identify the tapes and maybe supply them. It would be a logical thing for them to do. Not just for you, but for anybody who works on computers. I think they can supply the small screws, however.
    Good luck!

  • Error Message 10.1003

If I print 50 or more prints at one time, I have this error message to appear always on the yellow! It is a HP cartirdige it is not an off brand. Please help with how to get rid of this message! It will not even print now!

    Hi @Bibinkumar ,
I see by your post that you are getting a supply memory error. I can help you.
Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
Did you also remove the sealing tape from the toner?
Anything orange, has to removed from the toner.
Inspect the toner cartridge for damage:
    1. Remove the toner cartridge from the product and verify that the sealing tape has been removed.
    2. Check the memory chip for damage.
    3. Examine the surface of the imaging drum on the bottom of the toner cartridge.
CAUTION: Do not touch the roller (imaging drum) on the bottom of the cartridge.
Fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print-quality problems.
    4. If you see any scratches, fingerprints, or other damage on the imaging drum, replace the toner.
    Try cleaning the contacts.
Use a pencil eraser & clean the contacts on top of the toner. (green circuit with gold on it)
Then slowly insert the toner and look on the left hand side, you will see a black plastic piece flip up to meet with the toner, before it meets the toner you will see 2 contacts sticking out of the black plastic piece, use the pencil eraser to also clean it to see if that resolves the issue. Reseat the toner again.
Check inside the printer after removing the toner with a flash light just to make sure a piece of paper isn't blocking the sensor. Remove all the paper from the tray, to make sure one piece didn't partially feed inside the printer.
Then put the paper back in the tray and insert the toner again.
Hope this helps resolve your issue.
    Have a nice day!

  • Combining ufsdump and a tape library

    Hi All,
I have a question with regards to multi-volume backups using ufsdump and a tape library. Reading through the ufsdump documentation, I see that it has an option "l" (lowercase L), which says "When the end-of-tape is reached before the dump is complete, take the drive offline and wait up to two minutes for the tape drive to be ready again ...". However, when I use this option, and ufsdump reaches the end of the tape, it does not offline the tape drive. It sits there, waiting for a response to the question "DUMP: NEEDS ATTENTION: Do you want to restart?: ("yes" or "no")"...at no time does the tape drive go offline, which would allow me to write a script to detect the offlining of the tape, and swap it out for a fresh one.
Basically, what i'm looking for is a way to allow ufsdump to span >1 tapes without operator intervention by having a script detect when it needs new media, and ask the library to load the next tape. However, ufsdump doesn't relinquish control of the tape drive, so I can't pop out the tape unless I kill it...
Can anyone suggest a solution to automating multi-volume ufsdumps to tape?
    Thanks,
    -Adam Lundrigan
    [email protected]

I don't think you can do this AND have a variable sized output media. You will get the restart question when it gets a tape error (which you will get if you write out too much). I think the only way you can do what you want is to conservatively figure out what would fit on a tape with compression, and giving a tape length where the length*bpi will give you that figure (ie, no errors on tape writes).

    Hi Chaitanya,
As Mr. Abhijeet said, I too feel that it is a tape error or spill over of data in two tapes. You said that you have tried using some other backup, what is that backup. I suggest you to restart the process with new tapes.

  • Tape backup speed - Erratic

    Hi,
We have a 570 backing up a 3TB  4.7 Unicode database (save while active) to a 3592 tape drive. Some weeks the backup takes 12 hours. Other weeks the backup runs 24 hours or anywhere in between. We have not seen any appreciable difference in the system load at the time the backups are running. Has anyone else seen anything like this? It's really puzzling.
    Thanks,
    Craig

Could you show the exact command with all its parameters that you used?
Are you using internal or external disk subsystem? If external, do you dedicate entire ranks to i570?  If not, you need to check if the shared ranks are being accessed with high IOs from other machine/LPAR while you do the save on i570.
Do you notice that the same set of tape cartridges are used when the save time exceeds 12 hours? This can indicate deteriorating tape media quality. To display tape error statictics:
    - STRSST and provide correct service tool user/password
    - Select 1 Start a service tool
    - Select 1 Product activity log
    - Select 4 Work with removable media lifetime statistics
    - Specify proper "Removable media" (most likely = 2)
    - Leave "Sort By" as 4 (All Error Rate)
You should then see a list of tape error rate with the  Volume ID displayed.
Next time when the job running the save command runs more than 12 hours, please also try using WRKJOB command to look at its job log to see if there is any suspicious messages that can provide some more clues.
