SeamlessTabbing broken in IE7 and IE8

I have a Flash movie in an html page and need seamless tabbing to work as the page has to be 508 compliant (so you need to be able to use the tab key to navigate)...In IE7 and IE8 you can tab through fine once, but if you continue the tab the second time around the flash movie gets ignored. At first I thought it was me, but I found two samples online that were deemed to be functioning in a correct tab looping...and they do the same behavior...work fine once and the second time around the Flash content is ignored!!! I have found nothing addressing this...anywhere.... (BTW I have things running fine in FireFox...that was an easy fix)...but I have to target both IE and Firefox...
Here are the samples that are deemed to be correctly functioning tab looping (seamless tabbing)...however they are not in IE7 and 8

Any help to ressolve this would be appreciated...I just can't get focus back within the Flash movie...

Agree totally with TexasApexDeveloper here. Trying to find a way to get older versions of IE to render HTML5 content is not a reasonable solution and will be a constant uphill battle.
You mentioned that your users use IE <9 on XP systems. Is IE the only browser installed on user workstations? Could Firefox be an option?

I believe you can blame IE's incredibly slow JavaScript engine for this. That's my experience. There's not much the Mapviewer developers can do about that really.
I had hoped, that IE8 had improved on that, but there hasn't really been any visible differences.

yes, flowplayer is great tool, we are using it and its free version. cheers, but if u see http://apps.facebook.com/kickasskaraoke/most_liked.php in ie7 and ie8, click on video thumb and click on share or invite button, the video comes over the facebook window. i know the issue is diff If you get time let me know what is the solution for it. thnx in advance

Jsp error Message: Access is denied. on customers IE7 and IE8

Hello,
Here is a thing:
Customer getting js error in IE7 and IE8. Firefox works fine.
I am not able to reproduce on internal machine with ie8. also internally all works in ie9 (also in browsing modes ie7, ie8). and of course firefox works great internally as well.
Error happens when they navigate back to caller page from popup page (SelectPG) by selecting not partial action. When they click on the commandImageLink popupPage get blanked (get white with no any information on it) and stays and IE showing yellow exlamation mark in the bottom left corner with error:
Message: Access is denied.

SelectPG is inside bounded taskflow which is ran as dialog from caller taskflow.Popup page SelectPG opens fiine and all information is displayed correctly, they can see table with all information do filtering on table etc...
i dont have access to customer enviroment. and i am not able to reproduce this on any of our internal enviroments.
kind of stuck here will appreciate any thoughts/hints/suggestions.

and it seems that to reproduce this - you can run any of your application which have taskflow's <inline-popup> with this kind of link:

for some reason target="_blank" makes popup not to be closed throwing the Access is denied error.
Do you know if there is any patch for this? (updating jdev version is not the option)

Partially blank pages in IE7 and IE8

OS = XP 32 bit
Browser = IE7
Flash version = 10.1.102.64
I was getting partially blank pages in IE8. I unistalled it and installed IE7 and I got the same results. I unistalled flash player and reinstalled I still have the same issue. I get no error messages when I installed flash but it doesn't appear to be working.

I had several other issues that were resloved once I ran the "secedit" command. I didn't bring these other issues up since I didn't think they were realated. The other issues were: I couln't open WMP, and I couldn't open " Help and Support". I also tried to put IE8 back on my computer but the installed failed. Once I ran the "scedit" command and registered the listed dll's, ALL of my isues were resolved. No more blank web pages, I was able to open WMP and Help and Support, and I was able to upgrade to IE8.
Also before running the "scedit" command I got error messages when I tried to register the dll's that I mentioned. The dll's weren't missing, they just weren't registered.
Uninstall and reinstall did nothing for me. Niether did the vs 9 method.

Adobe Interactive forms & WebDynpro for java problem with IE7 and IE8

I have Interactive form ui-element in WebDynpro for java (ver. 7 SP 10) application. It works fine with IE6, but in IE7 (or IE8) it doesn't show that ui-element at all. We have tried to change IE7 security & advanced settings, but we have not made any progress. We have also tried to install/uninstall different Adobe reader versions etc.

I know a little more about the problem now. After viewing the XML source I change the property of the inputfield.
It was like this:

but i changed the access to be nonInteractive

UPK player issues in IE7 and IE8

Hi,
I'm getting different results on four different computers when I launch our UPK 11.1 player in IE8 and IE7. One machine running IE8 runs just fine, but another running also IE8 launches the the UPK player with a very small frame height in the righthand pane (where the playback modes are) that's truncating the content. Another machine running IE7 has a similar issue. I've tried a number of workarounds, but I haven't had any luck so far. Safari, Firefox and IE9 seem to work fine. Has anyone experienced something similar with UPK 11.1 playback in different IE browsers? Any idea what the cause might be?

Hi Rich,
To add to your solution:
Holding the <CTRL> key and using your wheel on a wheel mouse provides the ability to zoom in / out on your browser (when rotated forwards and backwards). You must ensure that your browser has mouse focus in order to do this.

Web printing on ie7 and ie8

I have sucessfully installed HP web printing software on my laptop (xp) running Internet E 7 and it works fine.
On my desktop I am running Internet E 8 and XP, the file extracts and when it atempts to install a Graphic of a CD flashes on the screen and it never installs.
Anyone else haaving problems with IE8

I was having the same problem locating the program until I clicked the little >> at the right of the toolbar on Explorer and then I see "Show or Hide HP Smart Web Printing" When I click this to show HP Smart Web Printing, I get the panel on the left for smart web printing, but it is blank...I no longer have the clip...print buttons. So, I solved one problem only to get another. I even uninstalled HP Smart Web Printing and reinstalled...same result.

Spry Data Sets and IE7 and IE8

Whiile in IE 7 or IE 8, my spry data set is not displaying
the data. However, using the Firefox browser, you can see the data
within the spry data set. For some reason unbeknownst to me, IE 7
and IE 8 in not allowing the spry data set to display the necessary
data. Is there a fix to this issue? Can changing or modifying the
HTML code help make the connection between the spry data set and

It gags in IE because you are saying that the Course_Date
column is a date, but you have an "Open" word in the date column
instead of a date. You can work around the problem by creating a
custom column that replaces the "Open" keyword with a date in the
past or the future, depending on where you want it to land when
sorting (top or bottom). Then, leave your Course_Date column as a
"string" column type, and set the new custom column to the date
column type. Try something like this:

Themes like Topaz are not working correctly using IE7 or IE8?

We are in the middle of an upgrade from APEX 3.1.2 to 4.0.2 and with this upgrade we also want to change the themes the apllications are using. In this case we are switching from 'Sand' to 'Topaz', but we encounter a problem with Standard Reports Regions. If you have a column with a setting 'Display as Text (based on LOV, does not save state) and the column has no value (null), the table cell is not drawn correctly on the screen. The cell borders (top and bottom) are not drawn, resulting in interrupted lines on the table rows. The same problem occurs if you have a column that contains a link, but the column value is empty.
When we use another browser (e.g. Google Chrome) the reports region is displayed correctly. However the standard browsers at our company are IE7 and IE8.
Sort of a workaround is to display a null value as or - , but for columns that contain links, that is a problem, because it will result in a clickable link on an 'empty' column value.
We tried other themes like Modern Blue, Simple Red, Builder Blue, Sunrise, etc. but they all have the same problem. Is there a workaround for this problem, because we reallty want to use the new Themes and using another browser is no option?

Appears to be due to empty-cellsIE's lack of/buggy support for the <tt>empty-cells</tt> property used in the report CSS.
I think you'll have to work round this by including some content in the cells using <tt>nvl</tt> etc in the query or the report Show Null Values as property. To avoid the problem you mentioned relating to clickable "empty" links, try using the zero-width space character entity<tt>&#8203;</tt> zero-width space character entity for this content. It should be effectively invisible.

IE6 to IE7 or IE8 compatability issues

Now we r working on portal(EP 7.0) with IE6, working fine for All SSO and non-SSO , according to user request we r planned to change IE7 or IE8. I tested with IE7 and IE8 I found some problem's like below
1) when the user clicking one iview(non-sso) its asking user id and password even user mapping is fine.
But same iview(non-sso) is working fine in IE6( its not asking userid and password)
2) I have taken another dealer and tested its working fine (Point 1) but when I delete the cookies, files its asking the user name and
password
Now what i need to do for resolving the problem.

Hello,
The official support comes with SPS20 for IE8 on Windows XP Professional and with SPS21 on Windows 7. For example the Web Dynpro runtime won't be supported with IE8 on your current stack and there are other issues.

RH9 WebHelp Search won't render in IE 7 and IE8 with Chrome - Fix/workaround?

Hi,
We recently upgraded to RH9 and have discovered that when using IE7 and IE8 and Chrome, the search functionalty no longer works. I also experience the issue with the sample projects provided with RH9. When Firefox is used or IE7 and IE8 AFTER Chrome has been uninstalled, Help works as expected.
This is not limited to a preview of help locally but from within the application as well.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue and found a fix or a workaround.

Flash buttons not working in IE7 and Chrome

As you can see the Flash buttons animate, but when clicked they should go to a new html page.
I've tested it in IE8 and Firefox without any problems but it's not working in IE7 and Chrome.
Does anyone know what the problem is? Could it be the html code or the flash file itself?

Spry Accordion not working in IE7 and IE6

My spry accordion is working great in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and IE8, but not in IE7 or 6. The panels are expanded and not hiding.
The site is www.christendom.edu/n. It is there on the left. I am using Spry 1.6 and have googled this question to the ends of the internet and can't figure out why.
Please help!

FYI, you do have other problems with your code which is made evident by the yellow triangle in the left bottom corner of IE.
