Search access to iBookstore without iPad or iPhone?

I am a professor and I would very much like to be able to tell my students if their required textbooks are available on the iBookstore. I don't (yet!!) have an iPad, and find the search on the itty-bitty iPhone screen hard on middle-aged eyes.
Is there any way to search titles and availability on iBookstore directly from my Mac?

Sorry, but as of today it's not possible to search the iBookstore other than through iBooks on an iPad or iPhone.
There aren't many textbooks available yet in the iBookstore. If you don't have too many to have to look up, post the titles and authors and I'll be happy to check the iBookstore for you from my iPad.
Note, though, that both Amazon and Barnes and Nobel have apps available for the iPad for their respective formats, so if your textbooks are available from either of those vendors, they'd also be viewable on the iPad. You can check titles for Amazon and B&N from their web sites.

No problem, Peter. iBooks Author makes a lot of things much easier than trying to grapple with a standard epub, but it also has some big limitations, like iPad only, and ibookstore only.
EDIT It's not really suitable for something like a novel, for example, although it's great when you need lots of illustrations and movies and such.

Problem accessing BBC News via iPad 2, iPhone or web

Anybody else have these problems - and solutions?
I have continuous, but erratic problems accessing BBC News either through MacBook Pro, iPhone 3G or iPad 2 (64G Wi-Fi & 3G). Until a few months ago, I never had problems accessing BBC News via my computer. Now I often cannot access the site at all, and problems occur whether I use Google Chrome (11.0.696.57)or Safari (5.0.5). Erratically and less frequently, however, the pages load OK. I have no problem loading other news websites, e.g. CNN or Al Jazeera. I live in Spain. My internet provider is Movistar. I have an ADSL connection of 10Mb (maximum available here) and a wireless router. My MacBook Pro runs OS X 10.6.7.
When trying to access BBC through Google Chrome, I get the following message:
Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.bbc.co.uk
Try reloading: www.bbc.co.uk/news/
Additional suggestions:
Access a cached copy of www.bbc.co.uk/news/
Trying to access BBC on Safari, I get this message:
Safari can’t find the server.

Using the BBC app on my iPad 2 and iPhone 3G, sometimes the BBC News loads OK, but more often, again, I get this message:

I wrote to BBC tech support complaining about my access problem through computer, iPhone and iPad. On May 2, I received the following reply:

Hence, I contacted Movistar (new name of Telefonica) tech support. I was told they knew nothing about the problem and tried to blame my computer for it. And then they hang up!!! Not impressed!!
I wrote to BBC again on May 19 asking WHO I should contact in Telefonica/Movistar, since their tech support staff claim not to know about the problem As of today, no reply from BBC, so still very frustrated!

How can I access "my templates" from iPad or iPhone?

I have created some templates with numbers but cannot "open=> new=> my templates" from my mini or iphone. It seems like it's only available on my imac or mac book. The only work around that I have have to open a new doc and save it and continually duplicate for new forms. I would hope that apple would think of this. Any advise would be great.

The templates are stored locally. If you want to move a template then you can open the tempate on the machince where they already exist, then save as a file (let's say on you desktop), then email, or move (using a flash drive) to the Mac mini.
Open the file on the mac mini and save as a template.
I do not have Numbers on an iOS device so I cannot say how to get it to your iphone. I would think you can share the document using iCloud then open from iCloud on the phone and save as a template.

How do I access files with an iPad on a Lion Server?

One of the reasons I upgraded fron Snow Leopard server to Lion server is to access files from an iPad and iPhone. I see in the File Sharing sharepoint configuration box the iOS checkbox, but how do I get to the files from the iPad?

Thank you for shaking my brain! I kept looking for a file structure to show up, such as Fidner. Your answer got me thinking correctly. Instead of looking for a "Finder", I opened Pages on my iPad and touched "+" then "copy from webdav". From there I got a login screen and typed https://servername.com/webdav plus my credentials and it got me right to the files on the server! I can now access files on my server from my iPad and can save the changes back! It works both on the local network and remotely! Thanks again!

On each device - go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap the old ID and sign out. Them sign in with new ID.
You have to perform this step on both devices in order to be signed in on each device.

iTunes Store has recently been launched in India ....however search option tab seems to be missing in the app when accessed from iPad or iPhone. Also the purchase option is visible in iPad but missing in iPhone

Gotta wonder if that's a factor.
Just now I removed all remotes from iTunes.
(Prefs > Devices > Forget All Remotes)
Then I turned on Home Sharing on my iPhone.
(Tap the gear icon in the Library selection screen.)
Previously the iPhone was registered as a regular remote.
So both devices are controlling iTunes via home sharing.
Now iTunes is not crashing at all, in full-screen mode or otherwise.
Not sure if it will last, but time will tell.

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

Setting up a new TC. Everything went fine. I was able to connect a macbook air, 2 ipads, an Iphone 6, and even a windows 7 PC. All devices showed a complete and functioning internet connection, but none of the devices could access the internet.

I am trying to set up internet connection to my home using a 3gig Airport time capsule as a router. I unplugged the cable from the existing router, and plugged it into the ethernet port of the TC. The TC fired up found tttttttthe internet connection, and glowed green. I set up the password, and all, and was then able to connect a Windows 7 PC, 2 ipads, and iphone 6, and a macbbook air, all running the most current os. All devices connect with the internet via the Airport device. they all say that there is a fully functioning internet connection, but none of them can actually connect to the internet. When I run a speed test via OKLA I am told that the test failed to innatiate.When I try to do a search I get an error message that the page cannot open because safari cannot make a secure connection to the server.
Any suggestions?

Inside the house I have what looks like a phone cable that is plugged into a power supply, and into a router.
What is this router?? Is it the TC or a router supplied by the ISP?
It will depend on how the system works.. but the instructions from skybeam are fairly simple.. you just setup a router with dhcp set on the WAN port for connection.
On the airport utility open your TC by clicking it then clicking edit.
Make sure the WAN is set correctly and the ISP ethernet cable is plugged into it.
And make sure Network is set to DHCP and NAT.
Please give me the screenshots of the same things from your setup.

If I understand correctly you want all 6 devices to have access to a single calendar that each device gets notifications for and can edit. You can do that with an private iCloud shared calendar. First sign into www.icloud.com and use these steps from the following article to share a calendar:
iCloud: Share a calendar with others
Share a calendar privately
Click the Share button to the right of the calendar name in the sidebar, then select Private Calendar.
Note: You can also share the same calendar publicly. For instructions, see the next task, “Share a calendar publicly.”
Type the invitee’s email address in the Add Person field and press Return.
Click the pop-up menu with the invitee’s name and choose access privileges (View & Edit or View Only).
For each person you want to share the calendar with, repeat steps 2 and 3.
When you’ve invited everyone and set their privileges, click OK.
Invitation emails are sent from your iCloud email address to the participants you specified.

I have added a new email address but kept my Id, but I get busy when trying from iPhone to iPad as they are clashing. Like find my iPhone app hence trying to keep them all on one account

Your basically calling/emailing yourself that's why your getting a busy signal.
