Search bar disappeared

It is my workaround.  Not a solution, as it doesn't work, at least not for me, for song search, only artist search (haven't yet tried album search).  I would like a fully functional search back.  My luck in finding what is probably a remnant of a former version of Spotify, one that worked, is not a solution, though its better than nothing.

There are several threads here about this. If the last person actually knows how to get Spotify to act instead of having us all tell each other how we're screwed, which it seems is what this forum is for, more power to them. Someone in another thread says tapping above "browse" brings search back. Doesn't work on my Alcatel tablet.  Whst does work, but only for artists, not songs (haven't yet tried it for album titles) is www.listenspotify.com, which will respond to an artist put in its search box with a list of albums.  Select one & it will be brought into actual Spotify.

    Mara...
Go to your Safari menu bar (top of your screen) click View  then from the drop down menu click Customize Toolbar.
    Mac OS X (10.6.6)  <  your profile
If that is correct, you need to udpate your system software to v10.6.8
Click your Apple menu > Software Update...

  • My search bar disappeared. how do i get it back?

The search bar on safari home page disappeared. How do I retrieve it?

    Some possibilities:
The search bar and address bar are combined (i.e., there aren't 2 separate entry areas).
The Safari View menu has a Hide/Show Toolbar command.
Right click (Control click) on toolbar will bring up a Customize Toolbar command and from there you can drag the default set (or just the address/search bar) back onto the toolbar.

  • Search Bar Disappeared in Mail

    Hello,
My search bar in Mail has completely disappeared. I was searching for something in my mail, and then only the search bar in the upper right corner suddenly disappeared. I quit the application multiple times and restarted my computer, and it's still missing. Any tips?
Along the same idea... my iChat buddylist will often disappear, too. No matter if I restart the application or the computer. However, it will usually make a reappearance, unlike the search bar. I don't know if these are at all related, but just thought I would put that out there.

    Hi, Welcome to Apple Discussions
I can't explain why the search bar is disappearing but you can add it back by going to the View menu in mail and selecting Customize Toolbar... You can then drag the different elements back onto the top bar, I suggest just dragging the default set back to the top bar.
    Hope this helps

  • Typed-in seach text into FF center search bar disappears on enter

Center search bar in the middle of screen, below the FF logo.
I type in a search query, hit search button or enter, the search query disappears from the bar and the search is not carried out. The address bar upper left works, the upper right search bar works. FF is the latest version, reinstalled again. Turned off all extensions, no effect, turned off "awesome" autocomplete.

    Hello,
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
'''''Note:''' When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences.'' See the [[Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings]] article for more information.
    To Refresh Firefox:
    # Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Troubleshooting Information''. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type '''about:support''' in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Search bar disappeared from Contacts

I thought this new feature was going to be really useful but now the search bar does not appear when I open contacts?
Is anyone else having this problem?

I had this too. But then I realized that the search bar is the TOP of the screen. Scroll way up to the top and you'll find it. Kinda weird that it isn't persistent.

  • Loaded 20.1. When I add Session Manager extension, address & search bars disappear. Can't retreive unless I reload Firefox from scratch. How to fix?

No prior Firefox version. Started with 20.1. Have not loaded 20.1 on my other computers, so i don't know if the problem is universal. Need Session Manager because Firefox crashes frequently.

Session Manager has had a lot of bug fixes the past week, I suspect mostly related to the new per-window private browsing feature. Could you try the new version 0.8.0.5? You need to use the "Versions" page to get it, as it hasn't yet been approved for the main page:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/session-manager/versions/#version-0.8.0.5
Hope that helps. You'll also see some even newer pre-release versions addressing specific bugs. I wouldn't try those just yet unless you see that one of them fixes issues you find in 0.8.0.5.

  • Search Bar and the new "Now Playing" layout

The search bar disappears after one time you try to search for something. This has been going on for at least a week with me now. Other people seem to have this problem, also.
Also, what's up with the new "Now Playing" layout? I loved it like it was previously. :/

Can't search now and it's ridiculously annoying. Not only that but no one from Spotify seems like they even care. No responses to any of the many complaints. What happened to caring about your customers? I can't even search for music on my music player that I pay for. No customer service number? Then at the very least be attentive to the only means of communication for your customers. Know what's worse than bad customer service? NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. REDICULOUS

  • Search the Web box to the right of my address bar disappeared, how do I get it back?

The "Search the Web box to the right of my address bar disappeared. How do I get it back?

It is gone in the new version of Safari and the Safari in Mountain Lion. You cannot get it back.
Search is now done inside the adress bar, so you did not lose the search functionally. The location has changed.

    Those are all fine
Here is how to see RAM overloaded…
Reboot to see the system in it's default state.
Open TextEdit for the sake of it
Open Activity Monitor & Terminal from /Applications/Utilities.
    Select the Memory tab
In Terminal enter the following command
    memory_pressure -l critical
    # note that is a lowercase L
RAM usage will climb, compression will begin the VM will become way more than the system has installed.
Eventually the system will start swapping  (look for RED) - Watch the 'memory pressure' & 'Swap used' as this happens.
Try switching to TextEdit - the system is still coping !
Switch back to Terminal & hit ctrl+c to stop the process.
Watch the VM & memory pressure return to normal levels.
    This OS kicks 4ss !
    Your problems may lie elsewhere

  • Why does my cursor keep disappearing in the Google search bar?

When using FF or Google Chrome, I've noticed that my cursor keeps disappearing when using the Google search bar. I've tried using all the about:config tips, I've downgraded to earlier versions, I've pressed F7, I've unchecked the "hide cursor while typing" option in my mouse properties, I've checked for driver updates, I've tried disabling all add-ons and plug-ins, and I've checked another computer in our home as well. Same thing there. This seems to have become a problem in the last few days. IE seems unaffected by it. Just FF and Chrome.

No sir, there are no other tabs open, when it happens. For now, I've found a workaround, and I invite you to test it yourself.
I've been working on this problem all day. I've noticed that the cursor blinks very slowly in the Google search bar. If you press a key while the cursor is blinking "off", it will stay off until you let go of what key you're pressing. Conversely, if you press a key while the cursor is blinking "on", the cursor will remain visible as you type.
In IE, the cursor blinks much more rapidly, and blinks more "on" than "off." As a result the cursor remains on, no matter what you type or when, or what key you press, including the spacebar. This is not the case in FF or Chrome.
It was suggested in the Google forums that disabling "autocomplete" has helped with this problem. I followed the instructions and successfully disabled the "auto-complete" feature on Google. When I did that, I immediately noticed that the cursor blink speed doubled, like what I'm used to seeing. Further, no matter what I did, the cursor did NOT disappear anymore.
The link for google with autocomplete disabled is http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
Go there and see if you notice a difference in the blink speed of the cursor. On my computer, the difference is drastic. While I do enjoy "auto-complete" and will miss this feature, I generally don't rely on it, and much prefer a consistent cursor.
I greatly look forward to your feedback on this. If you figure out a way to have Google work normally without this workaround, I will be forever in your debt.
