Search bar missing; no forward or back arrows either.

I just noticed this yesterday. When I use Safari, there is no search bar present, nor are there any forward or back arrows. This means that when I want to go to a different page within the same site, I have to go back to Google, write in the same information as I just did, and then go from there. Does anyone know how to correct this problem? Thank you very much.

Hello. No need for anyone to reply. I just noticed that someone else had the same problem. I just had to go to View and click on "show toolbar". Duuhhh! Thanks anyway.

• Missing forward and back arrows

Sometimes Safari opens without forward and back arrows. Command-[ ] still works. Glitch or deliberate? Seems intermittent. . . Please advise

Hi
Go to your View Menu>Customize Address Bar. From there you can drag the back/forward button to the Address Bar. Click "done".
Quit/restart Safari. Does the button still show up on the bar?

• When I last up dated Firefox the forward and back arrows dissapeared. Now if I want to go back I have to go to History to get back to previous page. How do I get these forward and back arrows?

On MSN web sight there use to be forward and back arrows on the left hand upper side of page that let me go forward and back from page to page. Now the arrows are gone and I have to use the History or Bookmarks to move back and forth.
The arrows didn't reappear when I up dated to the new foxfire.

Click the Firefox button, go to Add-ons, then Plugins and disable the following:

* Fun Web Products Plugin

* My Web Search

Both of these are adware/spyware and cause performance issues in Firefox.
Next, click the Extensions menu link (above Plugins where you are) and remove the "Ask Toolbar".
If the problem persists, please do the following:

#Click '''Help '''| '''Restart with Add-ons disabled'''.

#In the next menu which appears, checkmark: "'''Reset toolbars and Controls'''".

#Finally, click the button called "'''Make changes and restart'''".
Just in case you weren't aware of it, you can right click the Back or Forward buttons to get a list of sites visited. If you'd like to see the return of the arrow on the Back button, install this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker/
Last but not least, some of your plugins are seriously out of date which exposes your system to exploits. Please visit the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update where necessary.

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
* Go to "View > Toolbars" and check-mark "Menu Bar" with a click if you want to make that permanent
Make sure that all the toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

• If I click on a google search link and return with the back arrow on the browser it takes me to the top of the page and not the link I just opened unlike Internet explorer

I run a search on google.com and click on a link that comes up near the bottom of the page, After I read it and then use the back arrow (pointing left) to return to the searches it takes me to the top of the page to the first link google found rather than the link I just looked at. This does not happen with other web pages using firefox or Internet Explorer's Browser (using google).

Type '''about:config''' in the Location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key. When you see a warning, click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' button.
* Preferences that have been modified are shown as '''bold (user set)'''.
* Preferences can be '''Reset to the default''' or changed via the right-click context menu.
-> In the '''Filter bar''', type '''browser.sessionhistory.max_entries'''
* Right click the preference '''browser.sessionhistory.max_entries''' and click '''Modify'''
* Change value from 0 to whatever you want over 0 (Default value is 50)
* click OK
-> Close the '''about:config''' tab and then Restart Firefox.

• Safari web address and search bars missing.

I have a two year old Mac that is still running on Snow Leopard, and for some reason, when I launch Safari, the place to type in web addresses at the top is missing along with the general search bar. Anybody know how to bring it back?

From the Safari menu, View, select Show Toolbar

• Bing Map search bar missing FF34

Recently I've noticed a number of issues with v34, but first I'd like to see if there is an issue with the missing search bar on Bing Maps.

You can try this [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bing-maps-sl/ addon]. Reply if this doesn't help.

Thank you, but I was hoping someone had recognized and solved the issue which I think is in the browser. I don't use add-ons to cover up a flaw. Everything we download has the potential to complicate applications, so I use them sparingly. But thank you for replying.

• Entire search bar missing?

I logged onto safari on my computer. I went to search something, but the entire search bar was missing. I mean, nothing is there anymore. There's no option for going to View and then Customize, etc. Just nothing. The only things left are my bookmark bar options. This is really bothering me. Help?

You'd be better off using either IE or Chrome.
Apple has discontinued support for Safari for Windows.
Apple apparently kills Windows PC support in Safari
In the meantime, click Show or Hide Toolbar from the Safari View menu. (View at the top of your scren with Safari open).
