Search broken: incorrect results returned

I've marked some songs with the publishers name in the Comments and also in the Grouping section. However when I do a search 'All' using the publisher's name these songs are not returned.
Even more weird, the publisher's name is 'Narada', when I type only Nara, some of the appear, but with Narad, or Narada they don't ...

I'm using iTunes 7.6.1 (9) on 10.5.8 AND iTunes 9.0.2 (2.5) on 10.6.2.
Two ways to show Comments and Grouping in the main library and all playlist windows
1) View/View Options-check Comments and Grouping
2) Right click anywhere in the top row of column names and scroll down and click on Comments and Grouping.
If you are searching for text that is in a field not displayed it won't show as a test result. I just tested this. I hid the comment column and searched for text that is only a comment and it did not show. When I showed the Comments column and did the search again the song with the text in the comment showed.

  • "Your Search Had No Results" returned when clicking on download arrow

    In the Salt Lake Community College iTunes U "private" side of iTunes U, whenever someone clicks on the download arrow to download a podcast (the arrow that is to the right of the podcast name and to the left of the time), they get the following error:
    "Your Search Had No Results. Use Power Search to Refine your Search or use Browse to browse the entire iTunes store. Request anything you cannot find."
    This happens in every section we have, and it does not matter if the podcast is uploaded to the iTunes U site and living on their servers, or if it is on our servers and is populated to the iTunes U site via RSS feed.
    When we click on the podcast name we can play it on the computer, but cannot download it to an iPod for play.
    Has anyone seen this before? Any help or suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Actually, try it now. "kfi am 640 handel on the law" now has an entry. Seems like the trick is, you have to make sure you don't have that set of top tabs that say Video Audio All set to video before you do a search. If it's set to Audio or All, you'll get what you are looking for. That's not very good gui design. At the least, All should be the default tab or the tab set should be on the search screen.
    I just searched again and came up empty. Not sure what you mean about the tabs. It goes....
    Internet > Podcasts > Search "kfi" > "kfi am 640 handel on the law." > "Your search had no results"; and there are no tabs visible at any stage in that process. It is an active podcast and works fine within iTunes itself. This is not the only podcast I can't access; it is happening quite a bit with podcasts not in the Top, Favorites, or Providers.

    Hello, all.
    In iTunes 11.0.2.26, an Albums search by track names returns albums as if they only have one track on them, but I still want to access the entire album. How can I have the search results show the entire album (with just the searched for name highlighted)? For instance, I'm wanting to play an album with a particular track on it or I'm searching for albums that include that track. iTunes incorrectly assumes that all I'm after is that one track and then incorrectly displays the album as if there is only one ttrack on it. This is a bonkers default setting. Can I change this?

    Click the search magnifying glass and uncheck "Search entire library".
    Type in the name of the track.
    Click the album of interest to show tracks.
    Select the track.
    Press the X in the search box to clear the search.
    Double click the track you want to start playing first.

  • Search in Finder only returns results for "This Mac"

    I'm experiencing the following, annoying issue with searching for files in Finder:
    When I type a search text in Finder's search field, it only returns results when I select "This Mac". It does not return a single search result when being in any subfolder.
    To make this a bit more clear assume the following structure:
    | -– A
    |    | -- B
    |         | -- sample.pdf
    |         | -- another-sample.pdf
    |
    | --- C
    |     | -- yet-another-sample.pdf
    |
    | -- sample.pdf
    I use finder to navigate to folder B. I type "sample" into the search bar. No results are returned.
    Next I switch to "This Mac" and all of the above .pdf files are – correctly – returned.
    The same happens when I'm in any other subfolder. Search only returns results when I switch to "This Mac".
    Notes:
    I'm not talking about network drives. All folders are local and below "This Mac" in the file system hierarchy.
    I have forced Spotlight to reindex via sudo mdutil -E.
    It happens on multiple machines, Snow Leopard upgrades and Lion clean installs.
    Any idea? This bug renders Lion almost useful for me.

    I had the same problem .... found this link

  • Rp_provide_from_last returns incorrect result

    Hi
    When issuing rp_provide_from_last  for IT2001, we get incorrect result.
    rp-provide-from-last p2001 space '19000101' '99991231'
    This macro does not return the latest record.  Instead it returns the record with the highest subtype #.  (It actually returns the last record shown in a SE16N listing of PA2001).
    Has anyone seen this problem?
    We are on SAP 4.7., SP 85.
    Best regards
    Kirsten

    Pleas Try this
    Usage:
    Only in PNP database reports under GET PERNR, because the personnel number for which data is being read comes from field PERNR-PERNR, while the field being used is PNP-SW-AUTH-SKIPPED-RECORD.
    (RP_READ_ALL_TIME_ITY beg end)
       DATA: BEGDA LIKE P2001-BEGDA, ENDDA LIKE P2001-ENDDA.
       INFOTYPES:  0000, 0001, 0002, ...
                         2001 MODE N, 2002 MODE N, ...
         GET PERNR.
       BEGDA = '19900101'. ENDDA = '19900131'.
       RP_READ_ALL_TIME_ITY BEGDA ENDDA.
       IF PNP-SW-AUTH-SKIPPED-RECORD NE '0'.
          WRITE: / 'Authorization for time data missing'.
          WRITE: / 'for personnel number', PERNR-PERNR. REJECT.
       ENDIF.
    Remarks
    This RMAC module can be used when, for example, the time infotypes were originally defined in MODE N. This was done because the time data (from LOW-DATE to HIGH-DATE) might not all have fitted into the buffer. Now, however, they are read with shorter intervals (for example, in RPCALCx0 with payroll periods).
    -Due to the large amount of data in HR, the infotypes 2000 u2013 2999 should not be read when GET PERNR occurs. Therefore, these infotypes are declared with the enhancement MODE N.
    -As a result, the infotype tables under GET PERNR are not filled. The time infotype tables are filled subsequently using the macro RP_READ_ALL_TIME_ITY, but only for the time interval specified by PN-BEGDA and PN-ENDDA.

  • How to limit the number of search results returned by oracle text

    Hello All,
    I am running an oracle text search which returned the following error to my java program.
    ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
    DRG-51030: wildcard query expansion resulted in too many terms
    #### ORA-29902: Fehler bei der Ausführung von Routine ODCIIndexStart()
    ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:

    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-29902: Fehler bei der Ausführung von Routine ODCIIndexStart()
    ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
    DRG-51030: wildcard query expansion resulted in too many terms
    at oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBError.throwSqlException(DBError.java:169)
    When i looked up the net, one suggestion that was given is to narrow the wildcard query, which i cannot in my search page. Hence I am left with the only alternative of limiting the number of results returned by oracle text search query.
    Please let me know how to limit the number of search results returned by oracle text so that this error can be avoided.
    Thanks in advance
    krk

    Hi,
    If not set explicitly, the default value for WILDCARD_MAXTERMS is 5000. This is set as a wordlist preference. This means that if your wildcard query matches more than 5000 terms the message is returned. Exceeding that would give the user a lot to sift through.
    My suggestion: trap the error and return a meaningful message to the user indicating that the search needs to be refined. Although it is possible to increase the number of terms before hitting maxterms (increase wildcard_maxterms preference value for your wordlist), 5000 records is generally too much for a user to deal with anyway. The search is not a good one since it is not restricting rows adequately. If it happens frequently, get the query log and see the terms that are being searched that generate this message. It may be necessary to add one or more words to a stoplist if they are too generic.
    Example: The word mortgage might be a great search term for a local business directory. It might be a terrible search term for a national directory of mortgage lenders though (since 99% of them have the term in their name). In the case of the national directory, that term would be a candidate for inclusion in the stoplist.
    Also remember that full terms do not need a wildcard. Search for "car %" is not necessary and will give you the error you mentioned. A search for "car" will yield the results you need even if it is only part of a bigger sentence because everything is based on the token. You may already know all of this, but without an example query I figured I'd mention it to be sure.
    As for limiting the results - the best way to do that is to allow the user to limit the results through their query. This will ensure accurate and more meaningful results for them.

  • Max results returned by a search

    Hi there,
    I have been struggling in the Content DB Api to find out about the max results returned when performing a search.
    Let's say for instance, I am doing a search on attribute NAME = * on a library that potentially contains more than 100 000 documents. I don't mind if the operation is time consuming or not, my main concern is the actual limit. I suppose this is certainly related
    to the SOAP message limit. Does anyone know about this ?
    I forgot to mention that the search won't request any attribute but only the defaults (id, name, type and so forth ...).
    Cheers,

    Hi
    i came across the below reply for a thread with the similar query as above.

    No. You could sort the data in the SQL statement from which the REF CURSOR was created, but once you have a REF CURSOR, you cannot do anything but fetch from it.

  • Hide / Remove Content Search Webpart when no results returned

    Hi SharePoint friends
    I'm looking to find a way to hide the whole Content Search webpart (including the webpart title and border area) if there are no results coming back from the query.
    What I tried
    1. There is this property: "ShouldHideControlWhenEmpty" but it doesn't do anything when there are no results. The webpart is still visible. Webpart has a the Title and the Border around it so when
    there are no results the title and the border show up with no results. Like I said I want to hide the whole thing in that case.
    2. Wrote a jQuery script that searches for the text "There are no results" message (which comes from the webpart when there are no results) and hides the webpart. However, there is a short flicker once the page loads because the webpart first gets
    rendered for a split second and then disappears by virtue of my jQuery script - which is not great UI experience.
    3. So I thought I could extend the OOTB ContentBySearchWebPart and get a hold of some kind property that would get me the result count. If the results count is 0 simply I would hide the webpart server side. I looked
    at the documentation online - nothing I could find that I could leverage.
    Help? Thanks!

    Hi,
    To hide the whole Content Search Web Part when there is no result returned, a workaround can be like this:
    In the “Web Part Properties” panel, set checked the “Don't show anything when there are no results”, set the Chrome Type as “None”:
    By doing this, the whole web part will disappear when there is no result returned.
    Thanks

  • 10gR2 documentation search broken

    It would appear that the 10R2 documentation search is broken.
    I did a search for "Export" and got:
    Your search term Export did not match any topics.
    Consider these related search terms instead:
    • export/
    • export/import
    • export/import_
    • export/install
    • export01
    • export02
    • export03
    • exportable
    • exportcertdata
    • exported
    Tips:
    • Use more general terms instead of specific keywords.
    • Check your use of spaces and punctuation characters.This has definitely returned results in the past! Clicking on the suggested alternatives also returns no results.

    Ah, for the record, I was searching for the word Export without quotes - I was just using them to highlight the word I was looking for in the forum post, but I see how that could have been confusing!
    However, if I enter "Export" without the quotes on the http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/homepage page, I see what I would expect.
    Still, I agree there's an issue in how search handles quotation marks. I'll point the right people in the doc organization to this thread.Looks like it's fixed now, as my search returns results. Hurrah! \o/
    ETA: Or maybe it's not fixed *{:-( Sure, I get results for typing the word +export+, but only 2 pages of them - the third page goes back to what I saw earlier. Also, when I click on the "Utilities (229)" link on the right hand side to filter the results, it does the same thing.
    So, sort of working, but mostly not (I couldn't see a link to the Export documentation in either of the pages of results that were retrieved).

  • SQL Server 2014 - Columnstore Incorrect Results

    Hello,
    we are running into a problem with SQL Server 2014 and the columnstore index. We have a partitioned table with about 300 Million records in it. With SQL Server 2012 this has been in use without problems.
    Since we upgraded to SQL Server 2014, the exact same queries on exactly the same data return incorrect results. We can only bypass the problem by either dropping the CS Index or adding a maxdop = 1 query hint.
    I thought this was an old bug in SQL Server 2012? We have not installed the CU Pack 4 for SQL Server 2014, yet but will it solve the problem (assuming others have faced the same problem)
    We are running: Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Enterprise Edition - 12.0.2000.8 (X64) on a 2x6Core Machine
    Thanks in advance!

    SQL Server 2012 only featured non-clustered columnstore indexes which were separate structures.  Have you changed to a clustered columnstore (cs) index in SQL Server 2014?  (ie dropped your non-clustered cs, created a cs)
    There are a number of fixes that reference columnstore indexes in the current CUs (
    CU1,
    CU2, CU3,
    CU4 ), but none which sound exactly like your problem.
    This sounds similar and is fixed in CU1.  You should review the CU documents yourself to see if any of them mention a similar problem and then consider applying the CU.  You might also try applying them to a test environment, or a temporary Azure
    VM for example to see if one of them solves your problem.
    If you can create a reliable "repro" of the problem, consider raising a
    connect item which is a Microsoft bug report.

  • LessFilter and  ReflectionExtractor API giving incorrect results

    I am using Oracle Coherence version 3.7. We are storing DTO objects in cache having "modificationTime" property/instance variable of "java.util.date" type. In order to fetch data from cache passing "java.util.date" variable as input for comparison, LessFilter and ReflectionExtractor api's are used. Cache.entryset(filter) returns incorrect results.
    Note: we are using "com.tangosol.io.pof.PofWriter.writeDateTime(int arg0, Date arg1) " api to store data in cache and "com.tangosol.io.pof.PofReader.readDate(int arg0)" to read data from cache. There is no readDateTime api available ?
    We tested same scenario updating DTO class. Now it has another property in DTO of long(to store milliseconds). Now long is passed as input for comparison to LessFilter and ReflectionExtractor api's and correct results are retrieved.
    Ideally, java.util.Date or corresponding milliseconds passed as input should filter and return same and logically correct results.
    Code:
    1) Test by Date: returns incorrect results
    public void testbyDate(final Date startDate) throws IOException {
    final ValueExtractor extractor = new ReflectionExtractor("getModificationTime");
    LOGGER.debug("Fetching records from cache with modTime less than: " + startDate);
    final Filter lessFilter = new LessFilter(extractor, startDate);
    final Set results = CACHE.entrySet(lessFilter);
    LOGGER.debug("Fetched Records:" + results.size());
    assert results.isEmpty();
    2) Test by milliseconds: returns correct results
    public void testbyTime(final Long time) throws IOException {
    final ValueExtractor extractor = new ReflectionExtractor("getTimeinMillis");
    LOGGER.debug("Fetching records from cache with timeinMillis less than: " + time);
    final Filter lessFilter = new LessFilter(extractor, time);
    final Set results = CACHE.entrySet(lessFilter);
    LOGGER.debug("Fetched Records:" + results.size());
    assert results.isEmpty();
    }

    Hi Harvy,
    Thanks for your reply. You validated it against a single object in cache using ExternalizableHelper.toBinary/ExternalizableHelper.fromBinary. But we are querying against a collection of objects in cache.

    We are fetching TestDTO records from cache based on LessFilter. However, results returned from cache differs if query is made over property "getModificationTime" of type java.util.Date or over property "getTimeinMillis" of type Long(milliseconds corresponding to date). TestService.java is used for the same.
