Search Broken

I have a standalone Sharepoint 2013 and search was working on it.  However now it returns this error:

I believe it happened after the admin account password was changed on the domain, but not certain.  Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can track this down and fix it?
Thanks!
Kimberly

Thank you very much for any help you can offer!
This is what it dumps with the above correlation ID as 'critical' when I try to do a search:

For some user it works, for others not. Sure doesn't work for me.
Searching in the JDeveloper forum for "RowSetIterator" or "ViewObject" simply must return tons of results. It doesn't for me.
And when I go to my profile and search for all my messages I also get nothing.

  • ITunes Store Search, Broken the last 4 days

On and off the itunes store search has been broken for the last four days. Searching the store for a specific author "courtney brown" will time out about 2 minutes later with a "504" error. Trying anything else does the same. It's been this way on and off for the last four days, my friends on IM say the sam thing.
When is Apple going to fix this? I'm really frustrated so much so that I signed up with audible.com to buy my audiobooks because there webpage search isn't broken like Apple's iTunes.
try searching for hemi-sync or something else it just hangs!
    Annoyed customer...

I'm not happy with iTunes Store search either. I haven't gotten a timeout error but sometimes, I'll be searching for something I know is there, and iTS search can't find it. Google has been helpful in those cases. Google found your hemi-sync download on iTunes:

  • CTL-F = ColdFusion Search = BROKEN = PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm using CF Builder Version: 2.0.0, Build: 278082 (I just installed hotfix 1 hoping that would solve these problems, but it didn't)
    1) Using the ColdFusion Search between files doesn't work for me. Example: CTL-F (opens CF Search dialog) and I paste in "cfoutput" (without the quotes). I repeatedly hit the Find button and cycle through all the matches in the document. Then I select a different document, the ColdFusion Search dialog is still on top, I click the "Find" button and nothing happens. The ColdFusion Search dialog doesn't do anything, even though there are matches in the current document. I have to close the dialog, hit CTL-F again, and re-execute the search. This is completely different from the eclipse Find dialog behavior, where you can conduct the same search after switching the current document.
    2) Why do multiple ColdFusion Search dialogs open? I can open as many as I want by entering CTL-F. Shouldn't it just select the dialog if it's already open? I don't get it.
Also, the CF Search dialog window position is not saved, which adds a lot more clicks to my work flow!
I must be missing something here... this is either broken or I'm not understanding something. Or better yet, maybe I can have my old eclipse find dialog back!!!
    Thanks in advance!
    -JP

Here are the bugs I created... would be great if they got votes. I cannot use CFB 2 without fixes to these problems because I rely on CTL-F to work correctly. I'm not sure how these things passed QA... it's a far departure from the way std. eclipse and CFB 1 work. At the very least, we need a patch or workaround that will allow us to turn off ColdFusion Search and use the built in eclipse Find dialog.

  • Quick search broken (happened shortly before Firefox 8) - is that a bug?

Had been using Quick Search keywords forever but they suddenly stopped working (in one of the last FF 7 updates - I am now on FF 8). Now goes straight to Google with everything I've typed. This applies to both my own quick searches as well as the ones that were pre-created by earlier FF versions.
See troubleshooting information for steps to reproduce.
(I hear someone else in the office complaining about these broken quick searches but surprisingly Google yields no recent threads on this...)
Thanks in advance for any help!

Does it work if you add the dictionary<i></i>.com (dictionary<i></i>.reference<i></i>.com) search engine and add a keyword to it?

  • Google Maps Search Broken

Well, Google Maps on my iPhone 4 seems broken. I open the search box, type in an address, click Search and .... nothing happens. It makes no attempt to search, just totally ignores the search request, regardless of the address. Not very impressive.
Anyone else seen this? I tried restarting the iPhone, no different. And yes, I have latest iOS.
    --Tim

Try resetting (not restarting) your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • 10gR2 documentation search broken

It would appear that the 10R2 documentation search is broken.
I did a search for "Export" and got:
Your search term Export did not match any topics.
Consider these related search terms instead:
    • export/
    • export/import
    • export/import_
    • export/install
    • export01
    • export02
    • export03
    • exportable
    • exportcertdata
    • exported
    Tips:
    • Use more general terms instead of specific keywords.
    • Check your use of spaces and punctuation characters. This has definitely returned results in the past! Clicking on the suggested alternatives also returns no results.

If I go to the link you mention (http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/homepage) and enter "Export" (with the quotes), I see no results returned; and then if on that page I remove the quotes from"Export", I see exactly what you saw.
Ah, for the record, I was searching for the word Export without quotes - I was just using them to highlight the word I was looking for in the forum post, but I see how that could have been confusing!
However, if I enter "Export" without the quotes on the http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/homepage page, I see what I would expect.
Still, I agree there's an issue in how search handles quotation marks. I'll point the right people in the doc organization to this thread.Looks like it's fixed now, as my search returns results. Hurrah! \o/
ETA: Or maybe it's not fixed *{:-( Sure, I get results for typing the word +export+, but only 2 pages of them - the third page goes back to what I saw earlier. Also, when I click on the "Utilities (229)" link on the right hand side to filter the results, it does the same thing.
So, sort of working, but mostly not (I couldn't see a link to the Export documentation in either of the pages of results that were retrieved).

    Hello
I have tried many of the suggestions that I have found in the forums for this issue but non have worked as of yet.
I have sharepoint 2013  sp1 running on server 2012 R2 connected to SQL 2012 DB, which was upgrade from SharePoint foundation 2013. Everything is working with the exception of the search. the errors are below.

For some reason this is using the farm account which is not the account used for the search service but has full access to the sites and databases. So I'm not sure what or where it is getting an access denied error. Is there any way to find what it is trying

    Hi  ,
According to your description, my understanding is that you encountered the error Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance
after you upgraded SharePoint 2013 Foundation to SharePoint Server 2013.
For troubleshooting your issue, please try adding the farm account  on the Server local administrator group and see if it is related to permission issue. Then try stopping the Timer Service, clearing
the Configuration Cache and restarting the Timer Service:

    I'm using iTunes 7.6.1 (9) on 10.5.8 AND iTunes 9.0.2 (2.5) on 10.6.2.
Two ways to show Comments and Grouping in the main library and all playlist windows
    1) View/View Options-check Comments and Grouping
    2) Right click anywhere in the top row of column names and scroll down and click on Comments and Grouping.
If you are searching for text that is in a field not displayed it won't show as a test result. I just tested this. I hid the comment column and searched for text that is only a comment and it did not show. When I showed the Comments column and did the search again the song with the text in the comment showed.

  • Full-text search broken in Simplified Chinese?

    Hello,
Can anyone confirm whether full-text search works in
Simplified Chinese CHM files produced with Robohelp 7? It looks to
me like the answer is no. When I compile a help system that has
been localized into Chinese, the compiler produces this error:
    Generating full-text search data...
    HHC5008: Error:
An unknown error occurred while creating the index.
There's no mention of this error in any of Adobe's support
documents. Googling "HHC5008" and "unknown error" finds one page
(in Japanese) that indicates that the problem stems from using a
binary index. Robohelp will not let me disable the binary index
    since I'm using an HHK.
Oddly, if I change the language of my otherwise unmodified
source (English) project to Simplified Chinese, the same error
    occurs.
The Robohelp Readme lists as a known issue "Search not
working for Unicode (Hiragana) characters on RoboHelp for HTML
(RHT)." This problem is perhaps related, but not identical to the
one I'm having. It would also appear that the statement in the FAQ,
"Full text search is also operational in any of the languages," is
    false.
I'm evaluating RH7, which will not be useful to me if this
    bug persists.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Peter,
Thank you very much for the quick response (on Christmas Eve,
no less). It appears to me that the search and index issues are the
same, or at least that they're very closely related. Again, the
error message sequence is as follows:
    Generating full-text search data...
    HHC5008: Error:
An unknown error occurred while creating the index.
The index itself generates correctly (despite the error
message); the problem is with the Search tab.
I can reproduce the problem with the "Clownfish School"
sample project. If I open the project, change its output format to
Microsoft HTML Help, and compile, the search function in the
resulting CHM works fine. If I change the project language to
Simplified Chinese, I get the same error I reported originally with
    my actual project.
So at this point it appears that either the problem is, as
you suggest, local to my installation (I've tested it on three
different machines, though, so this seems unlikely) or with
    Robohelp itself.
I would appreciate any additional suggestions. Thanks
    again.

  • Lion Spotlight search broken? Always returns 1000's of results!

Anytime I do a search in Lion I get 5,000+ results. Even for a unique word like "aaabbbcccdddeee".
I have reindexing has no effect.

  • Is the forum search broken?

Even tried searching on "Solaris" with no results.

Yes, I think you are right. It looks like the box that says "Forum Search" sends you into a search function for other Sun documents, but doesn't actually search the forums.
(BTW, I can see that they might exclude Solaris from the search since it would appear in a gazillion Sun documents -- but I tried searching for a couple of specific terms that I could see in messages, which seemed unlikely to be stop words, and got no results or only results from outside the forum)

  • Lion iCal search broken

My iCal Lion search is not working at all.  Nothing at all comes up in the search bar when I type.
I have dragged the com.apple.iCal.plist onto desktop.  All it did was reset my iCal settings.
    Any ideas?

    Patrice,
Quit iCal, open System Preferences>Spotlight>Privacy, and add your Macintosh HD to the list. Wait a couple of minutes, and then remove your Macintosh HD from the Privacy list. You should notice (after a short delay) that Spotlight is reindexing your HD. After Spotlight completes the index, open iCal and see if your search works.

  • Is documentation search broken ?

A simple search such as this http://www.oracle.com/pls/db112/search?remark=quick_search&word=optimizer returns nothing
    Thanks
