Hi I'm running Addressbook and cannot clear previous entry easily when searching my data base of around 5,000 contacts.
I prefer to view in All contacts on a double page spread with details on the right page. Searching doesn't seem to work correctly in this view.
It's always the second search that is problematic.
I've tried typing over and all it seems to do is confine the search to the the entries that have come up for the previous search.
I've tried to use the x to clear the previous entry and then type the next search, same problem. The only way seems to be to move from "All Contacts" to "Groups". Then the searched name appears and I can return to All Contacts to see full details.
Surely three key press' are not the way it's supposed to work?

EasyDMS - search by date range for characteristics of type date

Hi Folks,
I have a characteristic of type date in the additional data of a DMS document. If I enter the date (for example validity date) as 08/31/2009 and search using cv04n and give a date range for the characteristic (i.e. 01/01/2009 - 12/31/2009), the search result will bring up the document.
However, I cannot do this from the EasyDMS find function. I need to specify an exact date. This is not very helpful for user who need to find documents with a validity date between 01/01/2009 - 12/31/2009 for example. Is there a way users can search for date range in EasyDMS find function?

To search a date range with EasyDMS Client you have to set the registry key
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\EasyDms\Generel\DateSearchPick to Value 0
Then you can use the input field like in SAP-Gui. (01.01.2009-31.01.2009)
If you set the value to 1 or the key is not defined you can only search for one specified date.
If you don't find this key on your PC create it as dword.
Maybe you must restart you PC for takeing effect.

Product - "Search on Data". How do I evaluate this?

In the following url there is reference to a BO XI addin for 'Search on Data'. I would like more information on this but cannot find any further reference to it in the SAP website. Is there a trial version I can download? OR is this now bundled in with XI 3.x? I am using XI R2.

This happened to me with the same device. I wouldn't worry about having it just say other as that is just information, if you really need to know what is using the most of your device's storage to to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage and that will tell you what apps are using in terms of your storage. Besides that, "other" is just iTunes knowing that there is information, how much there is, just not what it is. So syncing your device a few times and letting it stay plugged in should allow iTunes to recognize what information is on your iPod. Hope I could help!

Problem in searching japanese data in DB2

I have japanese data stored in my DB2 database. I have to search that data in DB2. For that I have writen test program.
Following is the SQL query:
"select adrnr from sapr3.sadr where land1='JP' and adrnr = '1000027051' and name1 like '"+sname+"%'"
Where sname is japanese data stored in DB2.
Before running this query I am retrieving sname from database using following:
"select name1 from sapr3.sadr where adrnr='1000027051'";
But its not able to search the same record if I also provide name1.
Please guide.

How to search BETWEEN Dates

I'm on 9i.
I have the following query which will not work. I need to search for data between the time range I have in the WHERE Clause below.
SELECT *
FROM SYS.AUD$
WHERE TIMESTAMP# BETWEEN '23-Jul-07 06:55:00 PM' AND '23-Jul-07 07:30:00 PM'
ORDER BY 4 DESC
The data in the TIMESTAMP# Column looks like this;
23-Jul-07 06:55:00 PM
The TIMESTAMP# Column is a DATE DataType.
How do I get my query to work? I thought that because it is a DATE DataType, I wouldn't need to perform any sort of conversion such as TO_DATE()

However...
Be careful converting a date to a string for comparison. Strings have an entirely different way of evaluating comparison operators.

Clues about query's - Search for date type at INBOX

Hello Everyone,
At IC Webclient, does anyone experiment to add a new search date type at INBOX, at "search for date" search parameter?
I added a new date type at Date Management, ZDATA_PR.
When I try to assemble the query parts, I use something like this:

Search for data in server based database.

I have a web page (http://gosolivitahomes.com) where I can enter a search for data in my server based database. If I enter a value less than $100,000 in Min Price I get no response. For values >= $100,000 I get the correct response. Why? Please help.

Yesterday I got no properties under $100,000.
To day I tried again and the first time I got 2 results, but when I went back and repeated the same thing, I got no result.
Then, like John Waller suggested, I cleared my cache and the 2 result were back.
Perhaps your problem is a template or other cms cache issue. I don't know very much about it, but when I had a login problem I had to disable user cache i the cms (Joomla).

Ios 4.1 Search Calendar data entry delayed by "Instant Search".

When attempting to enter search data into the Calendar Search Box, display of characters entered is delayed. The first character is fine, the second will hold the character display above its key for about 4 seconds and then display it in the Search Box after the +Instant Search+ results based on the first character entered have been displayed.
Entry of more characters while the second character is still "hanging" results in their keyboard clicks being delayed until the second character has been displayed in the Search Box and then they will all display too. The situation repeats itself if one restarts data entry after a pause.
I note that the same problem _does not exist_ in the +Spotlight Search+ which, in my case, is set to search all +data types+, not just the Calendar.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Suggestions? (Other than switching to a 3rd Party calendar.)

Thanks for the suggestions. Reset was the first thing I tried - No improvement. My second thought was the data until I tried the Spotlight Search and that works fine on the same data.
I've only noticed this problem since the iOS4.1 release and will postpone an OS reload until I see if anyone else is experiencing the issue. I note that many people have already reported the initial calendar display problem that has manifested itself with this release and if Apple QA let that one through, there are probably more.

Searching by date?

I'm having trouble using spotlight to find things. Is there any way to simplify the search, so as not to pick up mostly irrelevant stuff? And since all the items are listed alphabetically, one can't find things by date. Nor can I get rid of all the categories which just take up space. Be nice if the old Find command worked like the old days.
So first can anyone say if i can search by date? like list the files by date? Thanks for this first step.

Another kind of efficient "superfinder": Path Finder, well worth the trial too.

I think there are two methods to search Archive data, Also requires preconfiguration in CMS.
1. Online Search: the system searches through the archive files direct.
2. Background Search Report: the system evaluates the results of a background search previously carried out.

Guys,
Is there any way in SharePoint Search where I can search related data in a particular column. Suppose I have a managed property named SectionNumber {string type} and i have values like 2,2a,2aa,3,3a,4,5,6,21,20,22 etc which is crawled and now i want to show
results like 2,2a,2aa to the users if they search for sectionnumber 2 in the search.
I have tried SectionNumber:2* in my search query but the problem is that query also returns 20 and 22. Can i put some sort of regex in the search query.
Any workable solution can do as I can do the changes in my search center, central admin or in my custom query etc...

Can you please provide an example of how to mask numbers in search. I guess that is not available. However i tried synonyms but somehow its not working.
I also tried regex in query rules but again not able to make a generic regex that will serve the purpose.

Searching on date ranges in classification

Goodday All,
I'm trying to search on date range within classification.
I have a classification field 'Next Review Date'. It has been setup as date format.
Does anyone have any idea how to search on a date range? For example 01.01.2011 to 01.02.2011

Hope the following steps will give the workaround solution to solve the problem
1a. Create the characteristic field 'Next Review Date'.
1b. In Basic data tab-->Value Assignment : Tick mark Multiple Values & Interval Values.
1c. In Values Tab enter the date ranges that you need to define
          For Example:
                              01.05.2011 - 30.05.2011
                              01.06.2011 - 30.06.2011
                              01.07.2011 - 30.07.2011
                              01.08.2011 - 30.08.2011
1d. Save it.
2a. Assign the characteristic to the class.
3a. Go to CV01n.
3b. In Additional Data tab, you can view the characteristic field that you have defined. For example 'Next Review Dateu2019
3c. Now you can enter any interval values between the dates that you defined for the characteristics.
      For example 10.05.2011 / 20.06.2011 / 25.07.2011 / 30.08.2011 or any value between the range. (If the value is not
      between the range (ex: 10.12.2011) then the system will throw the error.
3d. Save the DIR.
4a. Go to Cv04n>Classification Tab> Press 'F4' key on the characteristic. Now you can select the interval and search the required documents.

TREX to search ECC data

Hello gurus!!
I am interested to find out if we can use TREX to index and search ECC data. When I mean ECC data, I dont mean the HCM data. I am just referring to ECC tables etc. Can we use TREX for this purpose? is it possible? Please let me know your suggestions to use TREX for non HCM data.

of cause you can use TREX for searching on ECC data.
So it depends on the ECC version you have.
Using NW04 you can use SES in ECC for indexing and searching every business object stored in SAP.
If you have ECC 6.0 EHP you can also use Embedded Search within ECC for searching over any business object.
As well if you are using an old ERP system like SAP R/3 there exists different scenarios for searching over special business objects like material, DRAW and so on.
You can have a closer look in help.sap.com for SES or Embedded Search.

Either userObjet[][] if you know how much data you have, and the data size is fixed, or use a list of lists. E.g. A Vector of Vectors (some will probably say that you should use an ArrayList instead, and that could be the case, but it sounds like you would want to display the data later on, and a DefaultTableModel (for JTables) uses a Vector as data holder).

How to search XML data from a HTTPMultiService and display the result on the Spark List

I am totally new to Flash Builder and Actionscript and hope someone might be able to help me out. I basically create a mobile app with a single view. The view has a TextInput as a search box and a search button. I conntected a Data/Service using a local XML file and bind the Data to a Spark List. Innitally the List will show nothing until the user enter the search term and hit the button. The List suppose to show the XML data that match the search term.
Now is my problem. I cannot make the List to show the data that match the search text. The List just shows ALL the data.
