Search Condition

Hi All,
We are creating a search page and wanted to search by ignoring the case.Below is a where clause formed by the framework for a view object. if a follow the similar approach will it cover all the possible things a user keys in. Can anyone explain the logic involved in the below where clause.
WHERE (( UPPER(CURRENCY_CODE) like :1 AND (CURRENCY_CODE like :2 OR CURRENCY_CODE like :3 OR CURRENCY_CODE like :4 OR CURRENCY_CODE like :5)))
FINE: [538] Bind params for ViewObject: CurrenciesLovVO
FINE: [539] Binding param "1": JPY%
FINE: [540] Binding param "2": JP%
FINE: [541] Binding param "3": jp%
FINE: [542] Binding param "4": Jp%
FINE: [543] Binding param "5": jP%
Thanks,
Viswanath

One reason why the Framework adds its own condition is when you have the Lov criterias defined. Many times it adds many conditions on its own. That is something internal to OAF implementation. As an APPS developer my recommendation is to take care of all the conditions yourself.

  • Conditional Display of A region based on a Search condition

    Hello All,
    I would really appreciate any suggestion and pointers on how to achieve the below.
    My requirement is to display a tabulated result based on a search condition.
    I have two regions. One region contains the items to enable a search and the other region will be used to display the search results.
    Region A is an HTML region containing three items
    1.     A text field: to enter the search text
    2.     A list field: to determine the type of entity to search (customer_id, invoice number, Passport No)
    3.     A button: to initiate the search process.
    Region B is a reports region displaying the search results
    My question is:
    1.     Is basing the source of the region as a “PL/SQL function returning a select statement” the ideal choice. I will have variable “WHERE” clauses based on the search criteria entered in region A. However, the columns returned will always be the same
    2.     How do we get the region B to display only when there are results returned from the search results
    3.     How do we base by result set based on a stored procedure in the database. Basically as an API. We pass in the parameters and the API passes the result set back to APEX. This way, I can have all the DML hidden behind the stored procedures
    Looking forward to your comments and suggestions

  • IProcurement -- Add new search condition in shopping lists

    Hello,
    Has any one ever added an extra condition to the search page.
    My requirement is, in iProcurement - Shopping Lists page.
    I would like to add a new search region with Text box to enter the Item and display the search results in the existing Results region.
    Has anyone done similar customization .. please help.
    Satya

    OK, Le me explain this way.
    in iPorcurement -- Shopping Lists page there is feature to add the items to the Personal favourites list when we order them, so that we can just refer to the Favourite list next time when we order the same item.
    Now, in Shopping lists page, there is a list box(poplist) when i select the "Personal favourites" in that list box it displays all the items that are added to the Personal favorites list. Assuming that this favorite list has some 200 items in it. i want to add a search condition to search a specific item(s) in this list.
    Thanks,

  • Is there any way to get a particular attribute value pair based on a search condition ?

    From a multivalue attribute , can I get a particular attribute value based on a search condition.

    No, this is not part of the LDAP specs... and therefore it is not implemented in Directory Server 5.x.
    However, there has been some proposal for a standard mechanism for specifying returning Matched values in LDAPv3. The internet draft expired a year ago mostly because of lack of interest from the LDAP users community.

  • Searching Condition Types

    Hello Gurus
    I needed your help with the following query:
    There is a requirement  to change the agent commission condition type from being Statistical.
    I checked one Pricing procedure with this condition type randomly.  I realistic that there is a chance that this same condition type may also be a part of other Pricing Procedures.
    Is there any function which can help me identify all the pricing procedures with this "Commission condition type" so that I can change the condition type in all these affected pricing procedures.
    Alternatively, I was planning to take the tedious route of manually checking each pricing procedure for this condition type.  There are more than 150 pricing procedures and it is going to be a pain searching this way.
    Thanks in advance for all your help.

    Hi,
    Welcome to SDN forum
    Go to SE16N give the table T683S and give condition type T683S - KSCHL (Condition Type) press F8 system will show all pricing
    procedures in which the condition type exists,through that you can select relevant pricing procedure and change the condition
    type.

  • Search Conditional Books and Topics

    When I apply a conditional build tag to a book and mixed
    conditional build tags to the topics within the book, then Search,
    RoboHelp searches all topics, even those with the incorrect
    conditional build tag.
    Does anyone know how to limit the search to only those books
    and topics with the same conditional build tag?
    Thanks.

    We've got the exact same issue going on here with RoboHelp
    6... can anybody shed any light on exactly how I'm supposed to keep
    the Search function from finding topics that should be excluded
    according to their Conditional Build tag?
    Here's the breakdown, in case it helps:
    1. We publish the same help file to two different audiences
    based on Conditional Build tags... some top-level books in the TOC
    are generic to both audiences and some are specific to an
    individual group.
    2. We only manage custom books/topics at the top-most book
    level... we either want to show an entire top-level book or we
    don't.
    3. In the TOC pane in RoboHelp 6, we apply a Conditional
    Build tag to the top-level book to determine which "version" of the
    project a book should appear in. This tag then cascades to all
    sub-books and topics. If a top-level book appears in all versions,
    it receives no tag.
    4. In the project template we use Conditional Build tags to
    create a customized footer.
    5. On some generic topics, we use Conditional Build tags to
    control the verbiage that is displayed if the page appears in a
    certain "version" of the project.
    6. We do not do any indexing or use a glossary... our users
    can either browse the TOC or do a search.
    7. When publishing, we specify the Conditional Build tag and
    the TOC displays as expected in the compiled output. It only
    contains the desired books as specified by the Conditional Build
    tags.
    8. When searching for a term in a book/topic that does NOT
    appear in the TOC (due to it having the wrong Conditional Build
    tag), the search nonetheless finds those topics and displays them
    when clicked in the search results list. This is WRONG, WRONG,
    WRONG, and in our case, potentially dangerous as the user has no
    idea that the content is not appropriate for them.
    I assumed that applying the build tag to the top-level book
    in step 3 is all that needed to be done. When expanding a book in
    the TOC pane in RoboHelp, each individual sub-book/topic correctly
    shows that the appropriate tag is applied (both through the
    highlight color and right-clicking to view the Apply Conditional
    Build Tag flyout menu).
    Is there anything I can do to keep the wrong topics from
    appearing in the search results when Conditional Build tags are
    used? Do I need to apply the correct tag individually to each and
    every topic? Do I need to upgrade to RH7 to fix this egregious bug?
    FYI - I tried making my build expression both exclusionary
    (listing all undesired tags using NOT) and inclusionary using the
    Advanced button (only listing the desired tag) and both have the
    same result: inappropriate topics still display when doing a
    search.
    Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide!
    ***EDIT***
    It gets better... I tried deleting the inappropriate books
    from the TOC and then publishing using the correct Conditional
    Build tag. The wrong topics STILL appear in the search, even though
    their parent books no longer appear in any version of the
    TOC!

  • Use Japaness words as search condition, but can't retrive data

    Hi,
      I encountered this problem. In report, I use client name as a condition. User can choose a client to
    retrieve data.
       but when user choose a Japanese client name(or other non-English language), can't get data.
       I use the sql genereated by bo to exetute in SQL SERVER2005:
    Select * from m_client where client_local_name = u2019たなかさu2019,no data found,
    but change to  Select * from m_client where client_local_name = Nu2019なかさu2019,can retrieve data.
    Here I use N before the Japanese word
    how to set my DB or set my BO server to solve this issue?
    Best Regards,
    Tony Renjie

    Try this:
    1) Open Designer
    2) File --> Parameters
    3) go to the Parameter tab
    4) add a new value: "UNICODE_STRING"  = "Yes"
    Good luck!

    Hi,
    Yes, I used AcroDialog from Windjack Solutions. They have a 15 day trial of the AcroDialog software.
    If you look at the click event of the button on the master page you will see the script from AcroDialog. This is specific to this dialogue window. Now if you scroll down to the very end you will see the script controlling the presence of the pages depending on which choice the user made in the dialogue window:
    JSADMDlg1.strpop1 = "";
    if("ok" == JSADMDlg1.DoDialog())
    if (JSADMDlg1.strpop1 == "Page 1")
    page1.presence = "visible";
    page2.presence = "hidden";
    page3.presence = "hidden";
    xfa.host.currentPage = 1;
    else if (JSADMDlg1.strpop1 == "Page 2")
    page1.presence = "hidden";
    page2.presence = "visible";
    page3.presence = "hidden";
    xfa.host.currentPage = 1;
    else if (JSADMDlg1.strpop1 == "Page 3")
    page1.presence = "hidden";
    page2.presence = "hidden";
    page3.presence = "visible";
    xfa.host.currentPage = 1;
    //console.println("pop1:" + JSADMDlg1.strpop1);
    Using AcroDialog, you can develop your own dialogue window with how ever many choice you need and then script to change the form based on those choices.
    In relation to the button on each page to bring you back to the start, a standard button on the second master page (Page2) with the following javascript in the click event will bring you back to the first page (page numbers are zero based):
    xfa.host.currentPage = 0;
    I hope that helps,
    Niall

  • How to search with multiple search condition in MDM5.5 API.

    hello my friends,
    how can i obtain right records like SQL:  "select * from mainTable where (A=a and B=b) or (A=c and B=d) or (A=e and B=f)";
                  A,B:fieldCode
                  a,b,c,d,e,f :fieldValue
    Thanks!

    Hi Orloffmax,
    I missed a point here.
    All field dimensions within a search group needs to be the same field dimension.
    For example:
         (A=a || A=b) // OK
         (A=a || B=b) // not OK
    So you are getting the below error.
    So the only option left to perform search now is
    1. Create a Search Object for (A=a and B=b), Perform the search and Save the list of RecordsIds
    2. Create a Search Object for (A=c and B=d), Perform the search and Save the list of RecordsIds
    3. Create a Search Object for (A=e and B=f), Perform the search and Save the list of RecordsIds
    4. As you have to perform an OR Operation Search on all the above 3, you can do a round about thing as APIs are not helping much. You can put all the above Records in a HashMap with both Key and Value as RecordId. By doing this you'll get a list of Unique record Ids.
    I am not able to find out a way in which the APIs can help you more, so have suggested you such an approach. If you ever find a better one, do share please.

  • Clean search conditions when switch "Saved Search".

    Hi,
    My case as below:
    a query page with an af:query that linked to a VO with *2 pre-defined View Criterias*. Criteria 1 includes field A, B, and Criteria 2 includes field A, B, C, D.
    1. User visit the query page, and default Criteria 1 is selected in the "Saved Search" list.
    2. User select Criteria 2 from "Saved Search" and input some value to field D and click Search.
    3. User visit other pages that is belongs to other task flow within the same project.
    4. User go back to the query page (the default Criteria 1 is selected), and click search.
    The problem is:
    At step 4, Criteria 1 is selected, field C and D is not included, but the search result is the same as step 1, the input values in step 1 is NOT reset.
    If user select Criteria 2, the query value of D (that was input at step 2) is still existing.
    I found this problem only happens when there is more than 1 boundled task flow, and user visit between task flows.
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 with ADF BC.

  • How to use multiple search conditions in the where clause

    Hi,
    Below is my query
    /****** Script for SelectTopNRows command from SSMS  ******/
    SELECT distinct
    ctacct,sum(GLMN02)
      FROM [ODS].[Staging].[tODS_INF_GLPCT]

      CTACCT like '[0-9][0-9][0-9]-[0-9][0-9][0-9]-63020-4110%'
    This one gives me the exact result i want, now if i add one more to my where clause like this
    /****** Script for SelectTopNRows command from SSMS  ******/
    SELECT distinct
    ctacct,sum(GLMN02)
    --,ctdesc,CTPAGE
    --SUM(GLMN02)

      CTACCT like '[0-9][0-9][0-9]-[0-9][0-9][0-9]-63020-4115%'
    This query doesnt give me the exact values instead it gives me all the weird values.Can someone please help me with how to work on this where clause?
    Thanks

    Hi Patrick,
    This is what i ve tried earlier and it isnt working .If i use the first query
    /****** Script for SelectTopNRows command from SSMS  ******/

    --,ctdesc,CTPAGE
    --SUM(GLMN02)

       --OR
       --CTAcct LIKE '[0-9][0-9][0-9]-[0-9][0-9][0-9]-63020-4115%'
      and GLYEAR = 2014
      and CTDESC = 'Sales'
      group by ctdesc
    The result set is
    Sales
    -182273.96
    And if i use the second query
    SELECT distinct
    ctdesc,SUM(GLMN02)
    --,ctdesc,CTPAGE
    --SUM(GLMN02)
      FROM [ODS].[Staging].[tODS_INF_GLPCT]

      and GLYEAR = 2014

      group by ctdesc
    The result set i get is
    Sales
    -1455441.08
    And i verified that  CTAcct LIKE '[0-9][0-9][0-9]-[0-9][0-9][0-9]-63020-4115%'
    this second line of where clause has not desc as Sales.
    I am not sure whats causing the difference in the values.
    Can you please help me with this?

  • Apex 3.1, Interactive Report Row Text Search, image bitmap as TEXT?

    I think this IR thing is powerful which could save me lots of time in development.
    One question: does the row text search(default: all columns) treat image column as regular text(string)? I did the following search on:
    SAMPLE APPLICATION-->Products, I put 300 in the search column( for $300 list-price search), the search produces 3 lines( should only have 2). the 3rd line's list price is $1999, I looked it in SQL*PLUS and saw its image bitmap (long string) includes a "300" inside, so I believe the "default all columns search" treat image as regular string.
    How can I avoid the image bitmap search included in IR? This bitmap strings are very long for each image and can EASILY match searching conditions for something like PRODOUCT DESCRIPTION, PRODUCT PRICE for our products data( about 25000)? thanks
    sean

    Sean / Russell,
    Thanks for reporting this, it's certainly a bug.
    By the way, the search is performed in SQL, on whatever column values are being displayed (run the page in debug mode to see the full SQL). So in the case of the sample application, it is not matching the image bitmap, but the image size, which is selected in the SQL. The bug is that the full search should not include columns which have filtering disabled or one of the special image format masks. We'll try to fix this for an upcoming patch.
    Thanks,
    Marco

  • Use of search help exit

    use of search help exit with an example

    Hi,
    A search help describes the standard input help process. In exceptions it could be necessary to deviate in some points from this standard. Such a deviation from the standard can also be implemented with a search help exit.
    The input help process should look as much the same as possible throughout the entire system. Search help exits should therefore only be used for exceptions.
    A search help exit is a function module that has a predefined interface. A search help exit is called at certain times by the help processor. The administrative data of the help processor are passed to the search help exit using the interface.
    You can store your own program logic that manipulates this administrative data in the search help exit. Individual steps of the input help process can be skipped with a search help exit.
    for example
    Search help exit F4UT_OPTIMIZE_COLWIDTH adjusts the column width in the hit list to the contents of the column. It makes sense to use this search help exit when the columns of the hit list have to be made very wide for extreme cases (e.g. for name fields), but normally they will contain much smaller values.
    Each search help exit must have the same interface as function module F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE (is used as pattern for all the search help exits to be created). You can find more information about the interface in the documentation for this function module.
    Calling the Search Help Exit
    If a search help exit is assigned to a search help, the help processor calls it at the following times:
    Before Displaying the Dialog Box for Selecting the Required Search Path.
    It is only called for collective search helps. Using the search help exit, the set of elementary search helps available can for example be restricted depending on the context.
    Before Starting the F4 Process for the Elementary Search Help
    The call is triggered independent of whether the dialog window for entering the search conditions appears or whether the selection is executed immediately (for example, because in the Hot key of the elementary search help Immediate value display is set).
    Before Displaying the Dialog Box for Entering Search Conditions.
    You can either influence the dialog for entering search conditions or skip it altogether here. You can also influence how the selection screen looks. The call is triggered only if there is no direct selection (that is, if in the Hot key of the elementary search help Immediate value display is not set).
    Before Selecting Data.
    The data selection can be partly or completely copied from the search help exit. This can become necessary if the data selection cannot be implemented with a SELECT statement for a table or a view.
    Before Displaying the Hit List.
    You can influence the display of the hit list in this step with the search help exit. You can reduce the number of values displayed here. For example, you can display only values for which the person calling the input help has authorization. You can also copy the complete hit list from the search help exit.
    Before Returning the Values Selected by the User to the Input Template.
    It could be advisable to intervene at this time if control of the further transaction flow should depend on the value selected. A typical example is setting set/get parameters.

  • Searching binary data file

    Hi I have a data file which acts as a database. I need to search this file for records. I am trying to implement this in the most efficient way I have the following extremes
    1)To search using RandomAccessFile each record directly from the file
    2)Load the entire file into memory. By encapsulating each record in a lava object.
    1st option would save me a lot of memory but time consuming . The second option would consume a lot of memory and might be unsuitable for a large amount of records.
    I have chosen a middle path but I am not sure if it will work properly.
    My current proposal is to use a scaled down Object to represent a record
    Integer values which are mostly 8 bit and 16 bit value will be stored an a array of integers where the necessary values are stored and extracted using bitwise operations.
    My problem is characters I was thinking of storing the hash code of the Strings but the search protocol requires that you should be able to search even if a part of the String is given.
    Regarding this problem I looked up the java 1.5 API doc for String.hashCode. Where I determined the hash code of a substring is smaller than of the main String. My question is? Is it possible to use this as a search condition to initially eliminate certain records and then read the character sequence from the file to confirm my match.
    I hope you can understand what I have typed above and any help would be appreciated.

    Why not turn this thing into a database and actually use database drivers to query it, and let the database worry about those kinds of things rather than basically reinvent them yourself?
