Hi,
from the Advanced Dev Guide (you should find that documentation on Oracle Doc website) :
- Enabling stemming
Stemming is enabled in Developer Studio.
To enable stemming for one or more languages in your project:
1. Open the project in Developer Studio.
2. In the Project Explorer, expand Search Configuration.
3. Double-click Stemming to display the Stemming editor.
4. Check one or more of the language check boxes on the list.
5. Click OK.
To disable stemming, use the above procedure, but uncheck the languages for which you do not want
stemming.
- Stopwords are defined using ex-Workbench new Experience Manager (when you logg into you application you have a feature dedicated for that)

Hi Colleagues,
I have two elements in the WD UI viz: Workbench Transport Request and Customizing transport Request.
I have Dictionary Search Help set to SEEF_MIG_TRKORR for Workbench TR but i cannot find a search help for Customizing TR.
Also there is no search filter on the SEEF_MIG_TRKORR search help. Thus i cannot use this for both the elements.
Could you please help to determine the search help for customizing request.

Since "Base Search Configuration" is optional so directly trying to create "Search Configuration Tree" through "Administer Commerce Search" project or "Manager Commerce Assets" projects in under Merchanding tab in BCC. Getting error as following: I guess some configuration is missing.Any solution?

Best way to configure search toplogoy for multiple servers farm??

My farm environment is 2 WFE and 2 App servers. Right now i am trying to configure Search Topology. what will be the best way to configure the search topology for this farm, so that query and crawling will be working perfectly. one thing i noticed with my
previous search application Crawl DB had grown 140 GB, i dont know why it happened. please look at the following screen shot, this the current topology but i want to distribute component to different server.

The best topology depends on whether you want it to be fault tolerant or not. For a fault tolerant design with this number of servers I normally create two Index Partitions 0 and 1 with each on one of the App servers. I then create Replicas of each
partition on the front end servers. I then put the query role on both web fronts ends and the crawl role on both Ap servers. So I end up with the following:
FE1 = Index Replica 0 + Query
FE2 = Index Replica 1 + Query
Ap1 = Index 0 + Crawl
Ap2 = Index 1 + Crawl

How good Endeca Search is for ECM (Search on documents) products

HI all,
I am evaluating Endeca Search (Guided Search) as a search engine for Enterprise content management's .
Basic objectives are -
1) Search engine should be able to search documents with high relevancy.
2) When user sees the search results , he /she should be able to navigate/open the original document.
To be precise, users need is to find and open documents.
So I expect different points of view for the above use case. If anybody implemented similar use case, then please make some noise .

So I have been involved in half a dozen enterprise search projects using Endeca. Things to consider:
1. Ingesting the documents. (velocity, variety, volume and frequency of change, location of files ). Endeca Content Acquisition Server comes with a variety of connectors for various industry standard document repositories, web and file systems crawls. Document converter for various document types is included.
2. ACL and profiles for users. It is easy enough to create a link to the doc repository and pass credentials of the user. This has been fairly easy to achieve in the past.
3. Search relevancy ( Endeca has a versatile relevancy ranking technology)
4. Apply facets to documents so that they can be refined. Various ways to achieve this.
5 I18N Are the documents one language, multi language.
Check your price points for doing this , there are some systems out there that index everything and provide a basic text search, Endeca can combine structured and unstructured records with faceted navigation but it needs effort and work to do this.

Support validity question about installing and configuring SP13 on same machine as FAST to use both as search engines for SP2010

Hi,
I have a SharePoint 2010 farm which is using its own servers.
This farm has a FAST Search for SharePoint server which is a standalone on a dedicated server.
This farm is my testing staging environment and not a Production environment, eventhough its almost an exact copy of the Production farm.
I would like to replace the FAST server with SharePoint 2013 as a search engine for my SharePoint 2010 farm.
Because i have a standalone deployment of FAST on a dedicated server and i dont have any more servers to add to this farm,
I would like to install SharePoint 2013 on same server as FAST while FAST is still active, connect it to the 2010 farm and do some tests before i will remove the FAST content and query SSA's.
I would like to know if installing a SP2013 on same machine as FAST is supported by Microsoft as long as the FAST is not connected to the SP2013? (performance is not an issue)
What about All in one machines like development servers, is it supported by Microsoft to install FAST on same machine as SP2010 farm? (again, performance is not an issue)

I would like to know if this scenario is supported by microsoft.
This installation will be for testing purposes only, if there are any issues with installing SharePoint2013 on a FAST search machine, i would like to know what kind of problems i may run into.
I'd also like to clear out that this FAST and SharePoint2013 are not comunicating with eachother but with a SharePoint2010 farm that is configured on different servers.
I would really appreciate direct answers to these questions.

Load Search Interfaces in Endeca 3.0

Hi,
In version 2.4 we had this nice LoadIndexingConfiguration graph which sets some input attributes to searchable and create different search interfaces based on the input file.
In version 3.0 this graph is gone and now (as far as I see) the LoadConfiguration graph sets the attributes in the attributemetadata file as searchable and creates 1 search interface 'All' for all these attributes.
What is the best way to load some additional search interfaces in Endeca Server? I have tried to change 'All' to another name but it simply replaces the 'All' interface with the new one. I also tried to use the 2.4 LoadConfiguration graph but this doesn't work. It loads the search interfaces in Endeca Server but I don't see them in Studio.

Keep in mind that all your search interfaces reside in the recsearch_config document in the Dgraph. You can load this document via a Web Service Client in a graph (like the Load Search Interfaces component in the LoadConfiguration graph). You can, for example, write your own set of search interfaces with a text editor (like TextPad) and then load it via the Web Service Client. Similar to this in the Integrator User's Guide:

Two things to keep in mind:
1. The recsearch_config document that you load completely overwrites the one that is currently in the Dgraph. That is, you can't incrementally add a new search interface. So if you have 2 search interfaces in the Dgraph and want to add a third, you have to load all 3 in the same recsearch_config doc.
2. In Studio, make sure you configure the new search interface, as documented here:

Override the Endeca Workbench "Save Changes"

Hi all,
I am trying to find a way to override the functionallity of the "save changes" button in the Endeca Workbench in the Endeca Commerce version 11. In previous versions it was a script named "EndecaMDEXUpdateScript" which overrides the "save changes" functionallity. It seems that this script has been removed from the new versions of Endeca. Is there a way to alter the functionallity of the save procedure in the Workbench of Endeca Commerce 11?

With Workbench versions 3.1.0 and greater, including 11.0, you can customize the 'promoteAuthoringToLive' script. This script is responsible for publishing Workbench changes from an authoring MDEX cluster to a live MDEX cluster. The out-of-the-box deployment template demonstrates these concepts within a single EAC application, but you should be able to customize this to push configuration across to another EAC application.
You should note that we've been making improvements in this area between 3.1.0 => 11.0, and as such, the implementation of this script does change between 3.x versions and 11.x versions. The biggest change is that in 11.x, we're making great strides towards have a complete export format for all Workbench-based configuration.

SAP DMS - How to do an external DMS configuration for the existing system ?

Am new to the world of SAP. And request SOME clarity for understanding of DMS.
We are wanting to put an external DMS server and wish to configure for the same.
So that the load on the production SAP R/3 database is reduced.
We are now wanting to test the same on Dev environment.

Now for this DMS content server which we would like to make it external for storage of documents -
do we need to have a separate database for this purpose as a repository.
If i run a setup of DMS - will that automatically install any default repository for this or
will it allow me to choose any other repository for the same ?

did a few more research and atleast have come to understand that.
DMS server installation has content server which works only with MAXDB.
So my understanding is correct.
And what we see as Easy DMS is a client installation.
which probably i would look at at a later stage.

You can try the following steps,
This is because we have deleted a connector that still had a live subscription associated with it. We need to go and delete that subscription to clean this up. The problem is – the connector is gone, so the subscription is no longer available
in the UI.
Therefore – we will have to delete it manually. This subscription (as all subscriptions) is kept in the “Notifications Internal Library” MP. You need to export that MP to XML. FIRST MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THIS FILE IN CASE YOU MESS UP, then
open it for editing in Notepad, or your XML editor of choice.
All subscriptions in this MP are kept in the <Monitoring> <Rules> section. To identify which connector subscription RULE is causing the problem – you can search for the connector ID, from the event 11502 above. In my example – my connector
ID from this event is: b7a64deb-f7ff-440e-bc30-d08d340dfe8d.
So – I search the XML for that string – and find b7a64deb-f7ff-440e-bc30-d08d340dfe8d in the <WriteActions> section of a specific <Rule>:

Good – I have identified the problem. Now – I need to do two things:
Find the rule ID – to identify the display string associated with it… then delete that display string.
Delete the orphaned subscription rule.
So – I move up in the XML section of this rule – and I find my Rule ID. (here is mine:)

When you are happy – you can import this XML MP back into the management group. It should import with no errors. If you get an error – you made a mistake when editing the XML. You can look on the RMS event log for the specific problem – there
will be a critical event there if it fails to import.

How to add a search help for a field in Screen Personas?

I just started learning to use a Screen Personas, and I want to know how to add a search help for a field.
I found a property in the help document named "IsLookupSupported". Is it the key? But I saw it was gray in the field I created, and its value is "false". I could not change it.

I found the reason. The function Z_WEBRFC_READ_DATA_SH had a string concatenation error.
CONCATENATE '{"results":[{"key": "shlpname", "value": "' l_shlp '"},"key": "fieldname", "value": "' l_field '"}]}' INTO htmldoc-line.
The correct code is like:
CONCATENATE '{"results":[{"key": "shlpname", "value": "' l_shlp '"},{"key": "fieldname", "value": "' l_field '"}]}' INTO htmldoc-line.
Another question is, I can't get any words in Chinese from WebRFC. It returns error when I try it. How can I configure it?

ISE 1.2, Supplicant configured for 802.1x but need to MAB

I posted this yesterday but deleted the thread thinking I had fixed the issue - alas I was wrong. In summary I have a scenario where I am doing wired 802.1x and also wired MAB/CWA. The issue is that a certain number of external/BYOD hosts have supplicants configured for 802.1x at their "home" organisations which for obvious reasons can't authenticate on this network. The idea is that MAB and CWA become a fallback but these hosts in question don't efficiently fail to MAB.
If the host has validate server certificates enabled (and doesn't have our root selected) then 802.1x fails and goes to MAB as per the tx timers etc. Hosts that don't validate certificates essentially fail authentication, abandon the EAP session and start new... this process seems to continue for a very long time.
Does anyone have any similoar experiences and if so can you provide some info? I am looking into tweaking 802.1x port timers to make this fail quicker/better but am not confident this will fix the issue.

Maybe the held-period and quite-period parameters would help. I would not change the TX period to anything shorter than 10 seconds. Every cisco doc that I have ever seen has said this same recomendation and I can tell you from experience you will have devices at times that will authenticate via MAB when you dont want them to if you decrease lower than 10 seconds.
Read this doc for best pratices including the timers listed below.

ratelimit-period seconds
Throttles the EAP-START packets that are sent from misbehaving client PCs (for example, PCs that send EAP-START packets that result in the wasting of switch processing power). The authenticator ignores EAPOL-Start packets from clients that have successfully authenticated For the rate-limit period duration. The range is from 1 to 65535. By default, rate limiting is disabled.

Ok u may not require a coding
But u req configuration
U should first make a search option set

Then u need 2 duplicate a KM Command by the name Search From here
and customize it to include the Search Option that u have created

How to use different configurations for KDE Plasma?

I typically use my laptop in two ways: single monitor and dual monitor. I like to have in the two cases two different sets of widgets and plasmoids, so I wonder if it's possible to have multiple configurations for Plasma and load the desired one when needed. I searched around for a solutio but didn't find anything.
Right now, I'm using a rather awkward method: I have two sets of Plasma configuration files for single and dual monitor setup (ie., plasma-desktop-appletsrc-single and plasma-desktop-appletsrc-dual) and two startx scripts which, before starting KDE, copy the single or dual monitor configuration on the standard Plasma config file (cp $HOME/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc-dual $HOME/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc). I'm sure there are better ways to have a dynamical Plasma configuration, since my zero-order solution has many drawbacks, for example I loose the modifications I make on my desktop (since Plasma saves them on plasma-desktop-appletsrc which is overwritten at next startup).
