Search contacts from phone num block

When I am start to make a call I start the phone app. Then activate the num block.
At the number keys there is letters.
I would find it natural to start typing the letters that my contacts name starts with. But it do not work that way. Even when I know that the app is looking in the cantactlist after each number i press.

There is no search function available with the Keypad.
Whichever function is selected when leaving the Phone app - Favorites, Recents, Contacts, Keypad, or Voicemail, that function will be available when returning to the Phone app. If you want to search contacts before dialing a number, have Contacts selected for the Phone app, or have Favorites selected which is a speed dial for the iPhone.

There are apps you can dowload that will let you sync your contacts across platforms or backup and restore contacts without iTunes. An app that will sync your contacts is Contacts Sync. Search the app store and find an app that will meet your needs.

There is no way to do that directly from Home Screen, however you can always get in the "Search: Internet and My Content" application, choose contacts and start to type phone number. You will get what you want.

iPhones do not write to a SIM card. They can read contacts already on a card but will not write to one.

Company Names excluded in searching Contacts in Phone App - Why?

Has anyone else had a problem with searching a company name through the Phone app Contacts search function? This seems like such a basic function to me, I was surprised. Calling for a cab, or local pharmacy shouldn't require Name Field be completed. It needs a fix for sure. Please advise if anyone knows if this is a bug, OS miss, or a unique issue with my Z10? Yes this is a known issue, as well as some other sorting and search issues within the contacts app. I have reported it, not sure if it made the bug list or not.
A work around for now is to use the universal search on the home page, it seems to search all of the fields. Then click the contact from there and choose how you wish to contact them by touching the options.

How to get contacts from phone to macbook air

How do I get all my contacts from my iPhone 5s to my new macbook air? I have a different account than my apple ID hooked up to my phone so I don't know what to do.

Unfortunately, content such as contacts cannot be transferred from one Apple ID account to another nor can Apple ID accounts be merged.

I lost mine also,,,and I agree this is very disappointing and frustrateing. I haven't seen something from Apple about this issue.... I have seen only many advertisments on the new I phone 5 !!!!!!, Do they care only about selling Phones,,,instead of making Quality phones,,,,, I dont understand the fact this should be a high quality phone which cost a lot of money to buy... am only thinking if Apple really taking care about issues like this... I liked this phone somehow, but still there are many things which never upgraded or improved since the 3g and 3gs( which i have now) , no easy conectivity and backup with PC, propably you need to know so much to have it done, what about normal users !!! shall they spend the whole day trying to figure out how to solve a syncronisation problem or even try to discover where the data is,,, very dispointed with this at least. not to mentione also no folder and or photos saving and orginzing, i had this in 2004 in my first Sony erikson 910i... imagen.8 years back it was even a touch screen phone !!..it was even better to connect to the PC... I thought we are finally getting good quality phones, unfortunately i was wrong,, now i need to find out what phone will be an option for me better than I phone, i dont want to loss my contacts again for any reason,

Does anyone know how you copy contact from your phone memory to your sim card?? I have a backup phone which I use sometime when I go out but when I swap the sim cards over the numbers aren't ont here and I end up retyping them all.

To my understanding, it is a one-by-one function and not an "all" function. Mainly I believe this to be due to the fact that the SIM can only contain one phone number per contact while the BB Address Book can contain multiple addresses per contact.

Can't move all contacts from phone memory to sim i...

Please i need help. I can't move all contacts from my Nokia 6600 phone memory to SIM or from SIM to phone memory at a time like i used to do with my former Nokia 6810. Does anybody know how to do this?

I'm assuming you want to transfer all your contacts between sim and phone memory all at once.
to do this, go to contacts on your phone then select "options", then select "Mark\Unmark". You then get a little side menu. in this side menu select "Mark All". all you phone contact should now have ticks next to them. Now Press "Options" again and now you should have the option to "Copy to sim Directory". and from sim to phone do this in reverse.

How to save new contact from phone app to ms outlook work account instead of local contact

Hi,
I need some help please.
I usually save new numbers that call me from the phone app, I just hit "add to contacts".
I keep all of my contacts on my work microsoft outlook account so they are synced with my work, I have absolutely no local contacts on the phone.
My Z10 saves these contacts directly as local contacts instead of saving them on my work account.
However, if I go to the phonebook app, and select add new contact from there, I have the option to select whether it's a personal or a work contact. If I select work contact, it will save it to my work outlook and everything's fine, however when saving from the phone app I don't have this option.
I don't understand what I'm doing, wrong, please help on how to save to work account directly from phone app.

What version of BlackBerry 10 software are you currently using? Go to Settings>About to find this information.
When in the phone application and press and hold a number, choose add to contacts. Then click Add contact at the bottom, at the very top you'll have a choice to choose Personal or Work. Choose Work if you want the contact saved to your work email account.

Lost contacts from phone memory after Setting up M...

Hi,
Please need help, I have tried to sync my contacts with Gmail account so i settup Mail for Exchange and choosen the option to keep phone memory after the sync starts i lost all of my contacts in phone memoy. any help to get back or those synced, I have contacts in Nokia Ovi mail when i try to get back my contacts from Nokia by doing
Contacs > Nokia Sync > Sync fails no contacts are imported from the nokia accounts. any help would be appreciate

I should mention that i have NOT upgraded to iOS 5 on the 3GS and don't want to. Therefore, no iCloud on the phone.

Backup Assistant issues?!? Deletes contacts from phone.

I love the fact that myverizon backs up all of the contact data from my phone, however since I have noticed recently that whenever my backup assistant backs up data it moves all of my contacts from my phone to the trash. I am able to get them back by removing them from the trash when I log into a computer. Is this happening to anyone else or is it a setting i have wrong somewhere? It removes the contacts from my phone and sends them to the trash on the cloud. Any way I can prevent this? its getting very frustrating when I wake up with no contacts. I have a Droid M, any suggestions would be helpful. I really don't want to have to switch providers again.

Don't use the Verizon backup option. Use the Google sync to backup your contacts.

How do I move contacts from phone to Mac Address Book

I just bought an iPhone 4 and they moved my contacts from my Blackberry to the iPhone OK.
Now I want to move the contacts from the iPhone to my Mac Address Book.
I'm afraid if I sync the phone with a blank Address Book it will erase the contacts on my phone.

Going to give it a go. Had a back up of all my clients files stupidly not my software as I have the originals disks. Just realised that amongst the software is ibiz and have lost al my accounting and billing files for the last 7 years want to cry so losing my contacts now will really tip me over the edge!
