Search content by keyword

I am searching content of files by keyword stored in ifs server. I am getting list of all the files containg
the keyword.
Is there any api or class which helps to extract the sentence or paragraph which contains the searched keyword.

YES!!! Definitely. If you have only submitted your custom domain name that is forwarded to the .Mac URLs, then none of the links beyond your domain name will be visible to search engines.
Verifying your site ownership and submitting a sitemap are additional beneficial steps that you can take directly....and get some definite feedback from Google. It's like rolling out the red carpet...

Today i made this new tutorial about searching database using "KEYWORDS", searching by keywords will give you the ability to search through many tables in your database, even in one or more fields in the same table.
when a searcher type a word, or even complete phrase, the results will be specified to this word or phrase.
For example if you searched about the word "News", and it mentioned in the news title and news content in tow records, these two records will appear in the search results.

Masking? Rotsoscoping? I can think of a million ways to create separated layers or mattes and then duplicate the layer and invert the masks/ matte, but if you never have used that stuff before, you will hard-crash on concrete and not get very far, I'm afraid. It takes at least a bit of practice to produce a clean matte. As a palce to start you may get by suing the Rotobrush and see, if it produces clean enough edges, but if not, it's proably better to scrap the idea before eitehr ending up with a bad result or not meeting your deadline...

How to search content items in the folder( include subfolders) with API?

I want use UCM API to search contents in the folders including subfolders. I need a example code. thank you !

If you have Folders properly installed, Standard Search form will have 'Folder' field and 'Include subfolders' check box. This means that you can use normal http function call to get results.
Example:

Using audience targeting in combination with search content webpart

I have a simple yes/no question: is the new search webpart capable of filtering based on target audiences? And if so: how can we configure this?

As far as I know, the search content web pat have not the audience target ,If you want to use it, I suggest you use Content Query web part. You can refer to the following link.

Search text for keywords - innodb table

I have a longtext column in a table that I need to search
through for keywords. The table is in innodb format. I dont want to
change it to myisam because I can't afford to have it lock at the
table level... I prefer the row level of innodb.
How can I build a search around this? It would be nice to
have all words, any words, and exact phrase as an option, as seen
in tom mucks extension (which i own)... however, this recordset has
so many arrays, it's completely hand coded and they extension isn't
suppose to work with anything but default recordsets.
Any suggestions? How can I have a more comprehensive search
using a innodb table?

TOC, Index, Search content not loading in FireFox 3.0 +

Hi,
I have created from RH 8 a merged Webhelp system (1 master, 2 children - based on Peter Grainge's posted procedure). It works fine from IE, and on my system, from FireFox 3.0 and up.
The problem is, that when deployed at the customer's site, the TOC, Index, and Search content does not load in FireFox. All frames display (Nav, contents, and the top frame), but the content for the TOC, Index, and Search does not load.
This only happens at the customer site. The webhelp system works okay in IE.
I have checked and we are running the same javascript version, have the same security settings in FireFox set.
I looked on Peter's site and implemented the redirect fix for FireFox that he has posted, but that hasn't seemed to fix the problem.
They aren't running any special toolbars (like Google toolbar). I am checking on add ons.
Does anyone have any ideas on what else I might check or better yet what might be causing the problem?

A merge will not work properly unless all the projects have been generated once. After that it should not matter that a project is missing, indeed simply not publishing one of the projects to the server is one of the features of merging making it easy to supply different customers with different content.
I wonder if the problem you saw was because that project had not been generated.

Sorry, the reference to AIR help was because you mentioned Snippet 141 which is AIR specific. I didn't look further back in the thread.
You said that the start page of a child project opens the tripane window with the default topic but you do not get the TOC etc. That rules out the merge being the problem. I am inclined to the view that the server is the issue so get your client to load the published output from my merge demo as that is a known quantity. Ask them to open each child project in turn and then finally the merge.

Adobe Reader X problem - no search contents filter

Hi!
I cannot search contents of a .pdf using windows, as I could in adobe reader 9. I have found out that adobe reader x doesn't have a filter (to enable search contents)!
was it this how it supposed to be?

Adobe has really left us up the creek without a paddle here. They stopped posting separate IFilter installers on their download page when they started bundling it in with Reader (except for the 64-bit version of IFilter 9), and the installer for Reader X not only doesn't include the IFilter, but it actually removes whatever IFilter you've got installed. So, you can't, for example, install Reader 9.4 to get the IFilter from it, and then install Reader X over top of it to have a more modern/secure version of Reader, because your IFilter will disappear. You are stuck choosing between Reader 9.4 with a somewhat modern IFilter and probably poor security, or Reader X with no IFilter (or the last IFilter to have its own installer, version 6.0, which is 6 years old).
Dear Adobe, this is a real mess that needs to be fixed. How many people out there have no idea that their PDF files are no longer searchable because Reader X removed their IFilter? At least create an installer for IFilter v9.4 so people can use a modern IFilter in combination with Reader X, instead of being forced to use Reader 9.4. There are a lot of posts in this forum about the missing IFilter, and I don't see a single reply from Adobe.

When viewing a PDF document; cant you search for a keyword anymore?

Hello (me again lol) prior to 2.2 Software upgrade I recall that when viewing a pdf document I could search for certain keywords; now I cant figure out how.
First off, again I'm using 2.2 Software on Verizon' HTC Incredible.
Next up when viewing a pdf I believe its using Adobe Reader. I have a few options but one thing I cannot find is "search" or even 'go to" (page number)
I believe Quck Office doesnt pull up any PDFs so I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to search for keywords; thanks

If you are using the Quick Office Application or the PDF Viewer, make sure both applications are updated to the newest versions.
You can do that by going to the Android Market Place on the device, then press menu and download, then you can see applications that can be updated.
To check for updates while using Quick Office, press the Menu button, then select Updates. Quickoffice will automatically check for updates to your software.
You can search for text strings in your document using Quickword. Switch to Reflow View, then press the Menu button, and tap Search. A text entry field will appear at the top of your document. Enter the text you wish to search for and tap the search icon to the right of the text field. Quickword will highlight all instances of the text you are searching for.

Quick searching by multiple keywords

Hi,
Just a quick question. I don't seem to be able to search for multiple keywords through the quicksearch input (on the top right of the browser window). If I put in one keyword it works like a charm, but if I enter two (with either spaces or commas between) no results will show up.
If I use the search HUD I can select multiple keywords or even add multiple text filters and type the keywords into them and it works.
Is it only possible to search for one keyword through a quicksearch, or is there something I'm missing?

I haven't seen this anywhere else, and I just
discovered it yesterday: If you type in several
keywords separated by commas, it will search all the
images in the folder/album/project that have all the
specified keywords. No need to bring up the search
HUD and click on individual keywords. It's been a big
time saver for me when trying to narrow down a search.
That's a nice little trick! Thanks for sharing.

Searching for a Keyword tag alias

My searches work fine as long as I type something that is an actual keyword tag. But I end up with nothing if try to search for a keyword tag alias. Is this a bug or by design?

Search on multiple keywords

I have a textfield in HTML page and I am asking the user to search based on keywords. I need code snippet that can search my table based on different keywords on different fields (title and descr).
I am using SQL Server.
e.g the user might search as "java swing book" and the search should be dynamic as we dont know the number of keywords.

Searching for multiple keywords

Is there a way to fine tune a search---e.g. find all the photos with a certain keyword and then select out the ones I have marked with a check mark? When I try this I get all the photos that I ever marked with a check mark, not just the ones with the keyword or search term I've already searched on. I don't see an "advanced search" option with multiple search term options.

Bring up the Keyword search pane and click on the checkmark button and then on the other keyword button. Only the photos with those two keywords will be displayed. The search box will show: √ and second keyword.
If you use the Option key while selecting a keyword it will omit all photos from the search with that keyword. The search box will display √ and not second keyword.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Easiest way to search for a keyword in over 100 dts packages on a complex SQL 2000 server

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to search for a keyword (e.g. myfilename.txt) in over 100 dts packages on a complex SQL 2000 server please. I've searched the internet for a solution, and there seem to be various third party tools available, etc. However
ideally I would like to be able to run a block of code which returns the result within query analyser, since this SQL 2000 server is a production server and I'd rather not have to go through change management for investigation purposes.

Modify Search Layout using Keyword Search

Hi,
we are using untargeted search (keyword) and modified some search layouts. This works for the lookup window as expected (other fields displayed), but the search results are still shown with the default layout.
Any Hints?

Michael, you can only manage the search result layouts for "Targeted" search and not "Keyword" search.

Does your iphone 5 (6.0.2) let you search content or contacts or both in messages?

to expound, i found that in my iphone 4 and previous iphone 5 (didnt connect to wifi and was replaced) i could type in a name of a contact in the search bar of messages and go directly to the conversation. now, this iphone 5 (new replacement from carrier (Globe Philippines) ) only searches content and only on the first page. it does not search based on contact but on content (which is not always consistent)
Ive tried other iphone 5's and 4's and they work as expected (typing in a contact in search brings up the last conversation)
i hope there is a fix to this as Ive searched the settings, tried to restore as a new phone, did a restore from back up and searched the web.
or am i just a lemon magnet?
