Search Engine Optimisation in Dreamweaver?

I am looking for the best way to implement SEO in Dreamweaver CS6
I am new to this so am looking for the Meta stuff where it can be implemented throughout the site.
Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to edit EVERY page?
Thank You
Terry

SEO is just common sense.
Use unique <titles> on each page.  Add meta description for each page as this is what most people see in search engine results.  Keyword meta tags are ignored by Search Engines so there's no point in adding them.
Content is king.  Use unique, relevant, keyword rich content inside the <body> of your documents.
<h1>Most important content</h1>
<h2>2nd most important</h2>
<h3>3rd most important</h3>
<p>Descriptions</p>

  • Can a search engine read the contents of a Library file embedded in a page?

Can a search engine read the contents of a Library file
embedded in a page? Or would SSI be the way to go. I'm creating a
large library of text-based information and links, and I want to
have much of it modular so I can add a link and all the many pages
on my site updates to reflect the change. A big concern is that
when a search engine visits my site, can it read the content
embedded in the library item, or is SSI a better method to help the
    search engine read my content?
    Thanks

Yes, search engines can read Dreamweaver library items. The
library only exists on your own hard drive. Once you add the
library item to your pages it's in there as regular HTML.
If you have more than 20 pages on your site, they say SSI is
better, because when you update you only update the SSI. If you
stick with library items each page has to be uploaded every time
    the library is updated.

Trying to build site with search engine. I found some free script on the internet. The download consisted of 2 pages. A search.html and results.html. • Getting Website on Search Engines? I used Dreamweaver CS4.

I have a website that was launched recently, which was created with Dreamweaver CS4. After using some search engines, I found that on some of them, some of my pages were appearing on the first page - however, none of them are the home page. Of the pages that do appear, some of them don't even contain the keywords that I typed in to the search engine.
Here's my question: what do I need to do to get my website higher up on search engines?

    Hi,

  • Search Engine for Dreamweaver and OSX 10.6 users.

I have seen lots of post about search engines but I can't seem to find my answer.
Can anyone please educate me on how I can add a simple Search Engine only to
search my site that has 100's of Literature created in word Doc's and PDF files.
My site is for a Non-forprofite site to help out mothers with children that have no homes or lost
their homes. We want them to come in search out site for Literature that relates the them.
I work on a Mac OSx 10.6 and use Cs4 Dreamweaver. I don't mind paying for an extension that works
well and easy to use with Dreamweaver. I have seen allot of extensions for only PC users but very
    few for Mac users.
Any advice or direction anyone can give me would help me and allot of unfortunate mothers.

  • Dreamweaver and Search Engines

    Greetings,
I have a question about Search engines and dreamweaver. My
company is using a programming contractor who is telling them that
webpages created in Dreamweaver produce too much HTML code to be
effectively found by Search engines. I'm not sure what program that
he's using to develop these pages, but it sounds like he's straight
    programming the html.
The big issue is that any time we want to change the graphics
or text or add movies..etc...we have to wait til he can get to it.
I get the feeling that he's holding the company hostage and feeding
them a line of flop so that he is the only one who can make these
    changes.
Any help would be great appreciated.
    Thanks-
    jake

  • Optimising video for web search engine results

I have little experience of producing video, so by default I have little experience or knowledge of premier... so I am here to ask a question on the back of a conversation I have just had with a client who is fairly video savvy, but not entirely premier pro savvy.
He is under the impression that premier pro has a facility to be able to analyse the content of a video and then automatically create a metadata file which can then be utilised for search engine ranking. Is this so? Has premier pro got this capability?
    Thanks in advance.
    Mat

    > Is that what's being asked for, though?  I understood the OP wants
Google to scan the video itself for metedata and use that for rankings.
Yep. The tutorials that I linked to show how to embed the speech-to-text metadata in the video and then extract it for search within Flash Player.
    > Actually whether or not any Adobe app is capable of such, I think the
bigger question is can a search engine actually scan video files, or do
    they just scan web pages?
The search engine companies are all moving toward using metadata within video files, but at different speeds and with different degrees of transparency. For now, I don't think that it's much used. But the time is coming (and is already here in a minimal, primitive form.)
The reason that I then suggested using the metadata as something to put as text on an HTML page was that I thought that this might be more valuable for the current state of search engine technology.

  • Creating webpage in fireworks CS3. Is text searchable by search engines?

    Hello all,
I started using fireworks cs3 to design webpages. I've been
using Dreamweaver cs3. I'm new to the whole flash designing. When
you put text and images to design your whole layout, is the text
    searchable by search engines?
I noticed that once you save your file as a swf when you open
it you can't highlight any text to copy? I was wondering how I
would go about putting the meta tag info in and make the text so
the search engines would be able to scan the pages to pull up in
    search results?
    Thank you all!

FW can be used to create prototype HTML pages, but those
    should never be
used for real production work. The code is fragile and
    sub-optimal (as is
any wizard-based HTML). Your graphics application should be
    used to produce
the images used on the page, which is created in Dreamweaver.

  • How to create an in-site search engine

How does one manually create an in-site search engine (without using Google's site search engine or the like)? Is it very difficult and time consuming?

If your site is dynamically populated with content from server-side databases, it's not hard.
If your site is static, a 3rd party search function might be a better choice until you're ready to build a dynamic site.

  • PHP Search Engine

I made a search engine to search my database for particular things.
I know this makes it search by name
    $query .= "name LIKE '%$each%' ";
What would I need to do to make it search for more stuff? Like by  genre
I already have everything complete, I just need the search engine to search for more than just name.

These kinds of questions would ordinarily be best posted on the DW Application Development forum (http://forums.adobe.com/community/dreamweaver/dreamweaver_development), not here.  However, I'll give it a go -
Your question is a bit vague, but how about this -
    $query .= "name LIKE '%$each%' AND title LIKE '%$title%' AND goober LIKE '%$whatever%' ";

  • Drop down menus / search engine friendly

    Hi,
I've been tasked with creating a new company website and having it go live April 10th. I would like to use iWeb to get it done.
Are drop down menus possible with iWeb? To be clear, I'm talking about if you hover your cursor over a menu item; say products, a drop down menu will appear listing specific products and link to that products page.
The other main requirement is that the site be search engine friendly. Our current website is in Flash and is virtually invisible to search engines.
I hope that these questions haven't been answered by digging just a little further, it's just that I'm under a tight deadline and must get started.
I've been a Mac user since 88 and I would like to work on my preferred platform. I've got a decent background in design. (I'd like to not use Dreamweaver under this deadline) Our current website is www.rapid.com. It was made from a flash template that I was told to use so I made the best of it.
I'm going for a clean looking non fussy user experience, unlike what we have now.
Thanks for any help you may have.

As Massimo says, they are just fine in the basic sense.
The adminition you are familiar with was related to *any*
    menu system that
embedded your actual menu links within javascript
    'document.write' commands,
just the way the DW pop-up menus prior to CS3 does, and the
    way the FW
pop-up menus prior to FW8 did.
If you can look at the HTML on the psge, and SEE the links in
    the HTML, then
a search engine will also be able to see them, and therefore
    spider your
    site.
BUT - if you have sub-menus, and I have javascript disabled,
    *I* will not be
able to access those sub-menu links when I come to your site.
    Further,
neither will anyone with a screen reader. That's a
    problem....
