CS3 Bridge keyword search failure

To the best of my knowledge this particular issue has not been covered in the dozens of prior posts about keywords. I apologize if I've missed it.
My photos, by the nature of their creation and paperwork generation, are organized by overall dividers, year, month, partial alphabetic breakdown, and customer name, respectively. I have a need to be able to find photos across all folders throughout the hierarchy that are of the same person. I've been using keywords of the individuals' names to accomplish this and it has been tremendously effective.
In 2009, it became necessary to move all images archived in 2008 to another location on the server. As one might expect, the keywords didn't jive with the index (my reasoning, anyway) and search functionality was ineffective. Not long thereafter, the functionality came back - most likely by way of a non-indexed keyword search.
The same issue has occured this year in that all the images shot in 2009 had to be moved. I have changed the manner in which the structure is built to prevent this from being necessary again in the future, but the keyword search is now not functioning again. However, this time I am unable to re-establish it. I have tried multiple non-indexed (with subdirectory) keyword searches both across the entire server and in smaller folder breakdowns. I have cleared the cache and searched again. Even if I open a folder with brand new files and verify keyword presence and accuracy, a search inside that specific folder will not return a result.
The question is: What have I done / missed?
Even if it had nothing to do with moving the 2009 files, I may have done something to knock something askew that's impeding my search abilities. I don't use Bridge for very complex tasks, so I might need some extra help, but I'm keenly interested in your ideas and expertise. Assistance in any form will be appreciated.

TREX search failure for some pdf documents

Hi,
TREX search is not getting correct result for some pdf documents. It's not able read the content of some pdf documents. When we search with file name the search result is correct but we are getting "No document excerpt available" message in search result for this file name.
Let me know where might be the problem for those pdf docs.

1. Can you tell me whether the pdf documents are opening when you are selecting them?
2. This error comes mostly when you havent included this .extn file (.pdf in your case) to the portal.
3. Check whether this extn is their in your portal if not make it inclueded and then try making a new index and one new data source where your pdf is residing. Try for one Test.
You have to include the file extns in System Confi....UI Interface...

Large size pdf search failure troubleshooting techniques

I am creating maps in Microstation V8i (SELECTseries 2) and exporting them to a pdf (Adobe Acrobat X Version 10.1.3). When my pdf maps surpass a certain size threshold, I am finding that my search function fails - when I execute the search it will not take me to the area or will take me to a blank spot on the pdf. Is there any way to fix this issue?
Could I improve my results by compressing the file?
Is there any other search techniques available that I can use?

first make sure to UNcheck "preserve Photoshop editing capabilities" on your packaged PDF
next JPEG compression image quality
those should get your Photoshop PDF sizes managable...
PS: make sure you CONVERTED to sRGB in Photoshop and embeded/tagged the ICC profile in the Saved PDF (so it has the best chance of displaying colors proper)

Address book searching failures revisited

I tried the solution given here:

However, if I type "rag" in the address book search field, it finds two contacts without highlighting any string within them. Furthermore, I can't see "rag" there.

Am I the only one who
is totally disappointed by Nokia? Isn’t this mobile meant for making calls in

Theme Search failure

When trying to do a theme search, I get:
IFS-22012: Invalid query: Invalid query may have been specified.
Any suggestions on what's wrong.

There was a bug (#1404388) where theme queries didn't work with the Multi-lexer (used by default by iFS).
This is fixed in the Solaris 8.1.7.0.1 patch set in September 2000, and I believe available in other patch sets since then.
It's also fixed in 9iDB.
The simple test case is (assuming there is a document with the word "databases" in it):
select a.name from odmv_document a, odmv_contentobject b, odmm_contentstore c
where a.contentobject = b.id and b.content = c.id and contains(GLOBALINDEXEDBLOB, 'about(databases)') > 0;
I believe the work-around is to create the index NOT using multi-lexer, but I don't have the syntax at my fingertips.

Mail search failure

Hello, when i used macos 10.6 i could find everything i needed just by typing a word in the search box and specifying where to search (in the entire message or in the subject only, etc). Now in 10.7 it nearly never finds what i'm looking for, even if the word i type is a part of the subject of an email i received 5 minutes before...

Thanks mate but that’s not it, this erroroccurs after continuing a search which would need to query the server.Searching works for my recent mails just fine the problem is searching for older mail on the server. After posting this I found that others are experiencing the same issues as I, check the below link.

Spiceworks Mobile 3.0.1 search failure

On the IOS version of the Spiceworks App, there is a problem with the search functionality.
If you pick an existing category (e.g. Open Tickets, Closed Tickets), and then tap a ticket, you get the *correct* ticket.
If you search for a keyword, and then see the tickets on the results and tap one of those tickets, you get the *wrong* ticket. Not sure how its choosing which ticket to display.

I work in a non profit and my role is basically anything from servers to desktop support in a semi call centre environment. There are 100 odd staff and desktop computers and I am the only person in this state. The other states have an equivalent of my role but we don’t work as a team very often but do share some resources. I like my job and they treat me well (management). I’m trusted and have a lot of freedom and conditions that I wouldn’t get in any other job. However I am finding myself becoming increasing annoyed and worn out by the desktop side of my role. Unable to search for words in a pdf document

I am using Adobe Reader Ver 10.1.1 (All updates)
I have a pdf document in which I am unable to search for words. No words in the document are found even though they do exist. If I copy a word from within the document and paste it into the search criteria then instead of getting the word that I copied, I get substitute characters and it can in fact find these characters as the word being searched.
The document is a catalog and can be downloaded from the following URL.

I will appreciate any help as to why I cannot search for words in the document.

I'll include their response because it gives the reason for the search failure as document compression which you might find interesting. I'll await their new catalogue and see if they have fixed the problem.

We used the compression settings we did with the intention of minimising download time, however I take your point about including text for search purposes (which I also utilise when I'm scanning through PDFs).
We will actually be posting out our new catalogue next week and we'll release the new PDF version on the website at the same time. I've asked our graphic designer to ensure that the PDF we use for the new catalogue includes searchable text.

Unable to search for first record using the Preview tree

Users are unable to search for the first record in the Preview tab's tree. The reason for this is because the first record is within the first page header of the report. My guess is that, by design, Crystal takes the end user to whatever the first instance of the record iseven if that first record is in a page header. That's not "good". I want the user to be taken to the first record within the details of the reportnot within the page header.
I have suppressed the page header to not print on the first record by using OnFirstRecord. But, I still get the same issue where end users cannot select the first record in the tree without being taken to the page header. Very strange.
Can anybody think of any other ideas?
