Search feature for joins in Discoverer Admin

Hi,
In Discoverer Administrator, how do I search for all the joins? Is there a SQL available to do this?

Are you refering to "cross business area" joins? If so, you can have the same folder in multiple business areas. And by granting access to one business area, you grant access to all the folders in there.
So, if you put the folder "suppliers" in both BA's (do so by choosing "manage folders" from the menu), you only have to grant access to the projects BA.

No search feature for Dashboard widgets?

In Dashboard, when you click the Manage Widgets button at the bottom and then you click More Widgets in the Manage Widgets window, you are taken to Apples' official Dashboard Widgets web page at http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard.
At the bottom of the page, it says there are "3901 Dashboard Widgets" available. But oddly, there seems to be no search feature for the widgets.
There's a Widget Browser where you can drill down by category, but sometimes it's just easier to search for what you want.
There's a search field at the very top of the page in the navigation bar (just as there's one for this page, but that searches the whole Apple site, not just the widgets.
Is there a way to do a text search for Dashboard widgets?

I took a look and agree that there doesn't seem to be a way so you aren't just blind...unless we both are
The only thing I noticed is since all the widgits seem to reside in the same directory you could do a google search a la
"widget I want site:http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/"
I suppose apple thinks most people don't commonly associate widgets by there actual name so categories are easier but it seems trivial just to throw in a search function with a nice little preview of each widget.
Maybe we just didn't look deep enough.

Are there any more advanced search features for "ctrl+f" (find in page)?

I'm very limited by the current test search features. And I'd like to see some advanced features like:
1) I HATE that the find bar disappears all the time. I would like it to be visible all the time -- not disappear when I change tabs, or open a new tab.
2) I HATE that the toolbar is on the bottom and not the top. All my work is done around the top of the window and when I need to enter a something in the find box I have to go to the bottom... very inefficient.
3) I would like to search for multiple words at the same time. Currently if there's multiple words that I'm searching for in multiple tabs, I have to type in each word individually for each tab. I'm in the process of searching for five word in 20+ tabs... you do the math. Even if I could enter: oneword OR twoword OR threeword OR fourword OR fiveword... this would be very helpful.
4) The nicest feature of all would be: the ability to highlight multiple links in a webpage and then get firefox-addon to search all the links for any of, and all of, the requested words (ie. oneword, twoword, threeword, etc) This would save me hours and hours of keying in words. AND please note: searching a specific site with google site does not work in most cases as it is not specific enough or Google is for some reason not able to search the site (the site must somehow be search while hidden from the user and then opened in a tab if there are any results -- and I would like the results highlighted).
I have been wanting this for years and am very surprised that nothing like this has been developed... maybe it's not possible to do? (But I doubt is, as I've see greasemonkey scripts that have done similar things...)

One of the problems with finding an addon like this is that I wasn't using the correct search term. I found that if I use "findbar", there are several results. Currently I'm trying out Findbar Tweak. It seems to have a few good options -- that are similar to my wishlist above. But right now I'm finding also that some of the options cause problems, some of which almost freeze Firefox... hopefully the developer will be able to improve a few of these things -- a new version hasn't been released for nearly a year. :(

Self Join in Discoverer Admin.

Hi,
We have a requirement in which we have to leave an option for self join for the users so that they should be able to change the join depending on their requirements.
So basically they want this option to be open for them in Disc Admin.
But i'm afraid as there is no such option for self join in Disc Admin...
So any work arounds for this??

I will try and explain, but I am not entirely sure what you actually want to do.
But suppose you have a folder F1 which maps to a table T1 and your users want to join T1 to itself but different users want to use different join conditions. Then you can create another complex folder F2 in the EUL and drag all the items from F1 into F2 to create another folder mapping on to T1. Then create a new item in the EUL in the F1 folder called join1 by just putting 1 in the calculation so that the join1 item always returns 1. Then in the same way create a join1 item in the F2 folder. This you will be able to create a join between join1 item in F1 and the join1 item in F2.
Your users will then be able to add items from both the F1 and F2 folders into a workbook. They will have to create the actual join between the folders by creating a condition in the workbook joining F1 columns to F2 columns.

Creating cross-functional joins in Discoverer Admin

Hello
When creating cross-functional joins, say b/w Projects and Suppliers in Disco Admin, I import the Suppliers folder and then create the joins b/w Projects and Suppliers in the Projects Business Area.
However, the user needs access to both Projects and Accounts Payables (has Suppliers) to access the new cross-functional report. Is there a way by which the user needs to be granted rights to Projects only but would still be able to see the cross-functional report?

Toolbar extention for search feature for point earnings

i have used the free cause toolbar for years and now i get all this stuff with it now , never had problems before, and why is it showing chrome when i use adobe and shockwave flash>>>>>>>>>>>This shows up in the error console as soon as I open the Firefox browser:

hello, this is caused by errors in the program code of this toolbar - you'd have to contact the vendor directly & ask them to sort it out, or just disable/uninstall it when you can live without it. (chrome in this case is refering to the user interface of the browser and has nothing to do with the browser by google with the same name)

HT3529 The "Search" feature for the Messages does not seem to cover text messages beyond two days with iOS7 (while it did work well with previous iOS - in terms of searching the entire Message folder)

With previous iOS, the "Search conversations" function did work for Messages (in the Messages list, tap the top of the screen to display the search field, then enter the text you’re looking for). With iOS7, this is not working for messages that are more than 2 days old (at least with iPhone 4S)

Step by step, how did you arrive at seeing this agreement?

Mail search feature for Yahoo mail does not work in Firefox

the search box in yahoo mail is unresponsive. Had to open Yahoo mail in Chrome to do the search. I have the latest version of Firefox running on Vista.

My search feature for Mail in snow leopard just stopped working. I had a system crash while trying to reformat a corrupted flash drive. Now when I search in mail it just spins the color wheel. Any suggestions?

hi i need help with this please..... i wanted to add a search feature for a flash website....i am adding some data lists to the website and i wanted to have a search feature.....could you also please advise me if i should use xml for adding the lists or should i just add it in flash using the text tool. thanks a lot.

I think before anything worthwhile can be offered, we need to define exactly what it is you are doing and where you are doing it.
Where specifically did you add the keyword?
In the Topic Properties on the General tab in the Keywords section?
In the Topic Properties on the Index tab?
In the Project Set-up pod in the External Content Search area? (RoboHelp 9)
In the Index designer pod?
Depending on your answer we can then move forward with sleuthing what may be happening.

Using Search Feature

I have a brand new black Classic and used the Search feature for the first time to find a song/artist and ran into a problem that baffled me.
I was looking for "Rock the Boat" by "The Hues Corporation". I first searched for "HUES" and it returned nothing. Then I searched for "ROCK THE" and "Rock the Boat" came up in the results. Can someone explain why I was able to find the song title but not the artist?
Also, what prompted me to use Search in the first place was because I tried to find "The Hues Corporation" manually under "Artist" but could not find it. However, if I searched for the title under "Song", I found it successfully.
Is this a bug? Does this have anything to do with the Album it's in marked as a "Compilation" in ID3 tag?

Yes.
If you have imported any CDs into iTunes as part of a compilation, the artists won't show in the artists menu on the iPod.
To change that info right click and select "get info". This brings up a song info window, and by selecting "options" you can check if you have 'yes' in the box marked "part of a compilation".
If you have, select 'no' instead and click 'ok'. Do this with any CD that has this issue. This will alter the info in iTunes, and you should then connect your iPod and synchronize the changes.

Does pages have a search feature on documents

Does pages offer a search feature for documents. If I have a document and want to search for a specific word or phrase how can this be done?

Try a Spotlight search?
If you've never used it, Spotlight is the 'sort of magnifying glass' icon at the upper right corner of the top menu bar.
Click on the Spotlight icon.
In the box that opens, type in your search term(s), a space, and .pages, and click on Show All
Spotlight will open a Finder window.
You can refine your search results including where to search This Mac or "Desktop" for example, and whether searching for Contents (words or strings embedded within documents) or Filename.
Now you can choose a document from the results displayed.
Clicking on a filename and pressing the space bar lets you view the document without actually opening the program that created it.
You can control what kinds of documents are/are not indexed by selecting  from the top menu bar, then System Preferences, Personal, Spotlight.

[Solved] Missing search feature in the generated logs?!

Isn't there any search feature for logs generated by JDeveloper 10g? If I want to search some words in the logs I have to copy & paste the entire log into the Notepad and search my words there. Isn't there any better way? I know for example JBuilder has this simple feature.

My iPod does not have search feature

Hello.
I bought a 60 GB iPod last September. I have it full of music, and I need the search feature for the music menu that I have seen in this web.
Am I doing somethig wrong?
It is not in my iPod Menu. WHy could be possible? I have updated the iPod software and it does not work.
What can I do? I have over 3.000 songs and it is hard to find the song I want without this tool.

No there is no software update that will allow this feature, although there is the "quick scroll" feature that will work on your iPod.
If you would like to see the "search" feature added to older iPods, add your voice to the many here.

when will an update include a search feature for contacts?? search is a key to ALL the information in contacts. currently you can only find a contact if you happen know the name. googles premium is based on search...every other mobile phone//pda has this. was apple listening???

I have over 2,000 contacts. Flipping by finger takes forever, even when I know exactly where someone falls alphabetically. When I don't know the name exactly, for example only recall the company or first name, I'm doomed. No way to locate. Missing an alpha search is telling business users to stick with their Blackberry, whose search feature is superb. Want "Tom Smith"? Just type T space S and it is there.
