Search field pop-up menu no longer displays
For some reason my search field pop-up menu no longer displays. I can still search, but the results are not consistent and since the pop-up menu is missing I can't select search options like to, from, etc.
I have already recreated the envelope index and reset spotlight. Any other ideas?
Right-click on a blank area of the toolbar in Mail (where the Search field should be) and choose "Customise Toolbar...". Then in the window that appears, drag the Search item back into the Toolbar.

My apple tv main menu no longer displays the "movies" section, just internet, computers, and settings. Does anyone know why or how to get it to show again? Recently rented a movie directly through apple tv but can't see the "movies" section in main menu now. WiFi and home sharing are working.

Check the location setting for the iTunes Store is correct.
You might also try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
If you are still having problems try a restore. -
Print menu is different since upgrading to Lion 10.7.4. Pop up menu no longer has Preview and lost paper size selection. Photos are all printing credt card size and I can't get it changed. (Have tried changing in Page Setup.) Have upgraded my printer drivers, but still no luck. Still using iPhoto 6.0.6.
A slow boot time can be caused by login items.
User Login Items:

Open System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items
Remove one login item noted above then restart your Mac to test. It may be one or multiple items causing the slow boot. -
Spotlight Window (Search field) pop-up location
Just installed 10.5 (Leopard).
On my macbook, spotlight doesn't open it's "Search field" in the usual location at the top right of the screen. Instead it opens almost half way down, and "a couple inches" from the right side of the screen.
Suggestions/solutions?Reboot solved the problem.
However, a similar thing happened this morning on the other mac (the iMac). In once account's logon, all menu bar dialogs/pop-ups weren't in the top right (directly under their menu bar items) as per normal. The dialogs/pop-ups were approximately half way down the screen. (The only pop-up that appeared to work normally was Spolight.)
Logged out of account, then back on and problem went away. -
POP UP MENU NO LONGER UNDER SAFARI
I need help with finding how to unblock the pop up menu. Since I upgraded my Safari system yesterday I no longer have anything to check under the Safari pull down menu. There is no block or unblock pop ups. Please email me at [email protected] If anyone knows why my menu to check or uncheck the block pop ups disappeared, please let me know. I need to unblock the pop ups and I can not. Thanks.

Image size pop-up menu no longer an option
"Reduce the size of the attached images by choosing Small, Medium, or Large from the Image Size pop-up menu at the bottom of the message window. The menu appears when you drag or attach a picture to the message."
I used to have this option. I just noticed it isn't there anymore. Tried deleting the mail preference file, but it didn't help.
Any suggestions?

clintNevermind, I just figured it out. My screen capturing widget saves files as .jpeg instead of .jpg. And Mail didn't like that.

Speaker pop up menu no longer appears
Airtunes no longer shows the remote speaker menu after iLife '06 installed. Currently iTunes 7.0.2 is installed. I believe it was in place before the iLife '06 installation. I tried disabling IPv6, but to no avail. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can get the remote speakers working again? I am most appreciative for any help.

Pop-up menu text not displaying in IE
I'm creating pop-up menus for my navigation, everything
appears OK until I preview in FF & IE - All is good in FF, but
in IE the boxes appear, but the text doesn't until you mouse over,
and then only each line which disappears on mouse out?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Spotlight search results for a contact no longer display details

new problem with spotlight/search/contacts/results:
I use spotlight to search on a contact, select the result.
Normally it would display the details of the contact I have chosen. I like this.
Now it is going to the All Contacts function. This is a problem for me.
I have looked in this forum and the user guide for an answer.Actually there have been complaints off and on for ages that keyword search doesn't work at all, though you say that it was working for you. Certainly it isn't producing a result now, though searching on your title does. I'm afraid that all this is internal to the Store - the ranking and search methods are opaque and despite various websites claiming to explain them, nobody really knows except Apple, and as usual they aren't talking. There isn't really anything you can do about this.

My boss' printer HP Color LaserJet CP2025 - menu no longer displays in English. I can't read the display to troubleshoot or reset. Is there another way to change the setting?
I have not verified these steps, but this is what I located:
A. To change the display language back to English, please perform the following steps:
1. Press the right arrow 2 times, press the OK button (you should be in the System Setup menu).
2. Press the OK button again (you should be in Language).
3. Press the right arrow until you see something that may be English, press OK button. The menu is a continuous loop, so if you miss it the first time the option will return.

CSS or JS Navigation Bar with inline Styled Search Field
Does anyone know of a good tutorial on how to create a CSS or
JS navigation bar that would contain a matching styled search field
box?
I have tried creating something like this a couple of times
using the old JS Navigation Bar wizard in DW, but can't get the
results I need. I can never seem to add a column that would include
a search box and have it look right and inline with the rest of the
navigation.
For reference, I am trying to do a nav that is somewhat
similiar to Apple's Nav bar, where the search field is styled to
match the rest of the Nav and inline with the rest of the buttons.
Any thoughts?

position:
relative and then absolutely position the search box inside.

Hello,
I'm trying to create an auto generating invoice with NUMBERS. I've a list of services (virus removal, diagnostic, tuneup..etc) and a list of prices for those service. On the Invoice sheet under A1, I want to be able to choose from a pop-up menu one of these services AND automatically generate the price under B1.
I'm guessing I would need two separate sheets: one to pull info from, and one to design the invoice on and generate the data.
I just don't know how to: build sheet1 to make prices correspond to their services since they are on different lists
or how to build sheet2 in a way to pull the data from sheet1 using pop-up menu to be displayed in A including the prices to be displayed in B automatically.

Two Tables. Price List (with made-up prices) and Invoice. Pop-up menu is Cell A2 of Invoice.
Formula in Cell A2 (oops, B2) of Invoice table is:
=VLOOKUP(A2,Price List :: A:B,2)
Now you can make the Invoice table look pretty.
In Numbers, click on the Function Button in the Toolbar to see details of functions.
The Number'09 User Guide is a good read. Available from the Help Menu in Numbers.

Not even the "reset to defaults" option?
If it is there, try that. Restart the system, if you have not already done so.
If options in the User interface are missing, this is usually caused by corrupted preferences files and preset files in the user library. To check if that is the case, log into a different user account, for example the "Guest account". Launch Aperture. Do you see the missing import options there?

.Mac aliases no longer appearing in Account pop-up menu
Hi, a couple of days ago I noticed that my .Mac aliases are no longer listed in the Account pop-up menu of new messages. I thought it's a temporary .Mac problem, but this has continued.
The account is a .Mac account (not POP nor IMAP), and I can go to Mail>Preferences>Accounts and click on the "Edit Email Aliases" button and can see that they are all still there on .Mac.
How can I get them to show up again?

I don’t know whether this would make a difference, but it may be worth a try:
1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
2. Make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case something goes wrong while trying to solve the problem. You can do this in the Finder by dragging the folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. This is where all your mail is stored.
3. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop (to be deleted if this fixes the problem).
4. Open Mail. You’ll have to set up your non-.Mac accounts from scratch all over again. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and Mail will automagically rediscover the data in ~/Library/Mail/ when done.
You’ll also have to re-configure most of your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
5. As a side effect of re-creating com.apple.mail.plist, Mail might rename Outbox (which is where messages waiting to be sent are stored) to Delivered. The name of that mailbox is actually a misnomer, as it would contain messages (if any) that couldn’t be delivered for some reason. You can delete that mailbox if you wish.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there. -
