Hi all,
let us say I have some characteristic name in field ATNAM. Now I want to search if the name in the field matches the pattern CO*GLI i.e., the name should have CO at the beginning and GLI at the end and can have anything in the middle.
Please help me. Waiting.............

len = strlen( field ).
len = len - 2.
char1 = field1+0(2).
char2 = field1+len(3).

I run this program using netbeans and am getting the following error message.
"Cannot find the symbol : class regex"

           IN text_str
           MATCH COUNT lv_mcnt
           MATCH OFFSET lv_moff.

When searching for email messages from within Mail or when using Spotlight, you can search the To, From, and Subject fields. Search "All" searches all three of these fields. The text, or body, of messages is not searched.

There is no built in way to do this. You'll end up having to enumerate all keys and values in the entire registry and comparing each one for a pattern using Regex or similar. This is going to be really slow but there isn't much else you can do about
it (other than parallelize the enumeration). Also note that you won't have permissions to all keys for read and/or write access so you'll need to skip over those using exception handling.

Search for shared library is impossible, as far as I know. Searches supported - are local and internet.

I have the latest version of iTunes. Today I did a search for a particular song. In the past, I used to get a list of the song and the various artists who recorded it, and I could click the little arrow and play a preview of that song before I decided to buy it. Today the results didn't display that way - instead, I got a page with probably 50 or 100 songs all spread out across the page, and the "writing" was all overlayed so you couldn't quite tell what you're supposed to see! Search for a particular user

I have configured LDAP authentication and mapped few LDAP user groups to BOXI. When an user group is added all the user will also be mapped to BOXI. For the users mapped the distinguished name is added as one of the alias.
The requirement is to search for a particular user in the BOXI using the distinguished name(DN), hence need to query on the alias name or ID. I tried the query something like but didn't worked.
SELECT * FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='User' AND SI_ALIASES.1.SI_NAME like '%DISTINGUISHED_NAME%'
IF the DN is like cn=userName,ou=users,ou=group1, dc=myorg, dc=com and the query is written as it works.
SELECT * FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='User' AND SI_ALIASES like '%userName%'
Could you help in writing a query on the user alias.

How to search for subset of string

I'm trying to implement Oracle text in 8i and 9i to search for a given string or a subset of string.
For example, if the given string="Database Technology", I would like intermedia to first search for the exact string - "Database Technology",
if not found, then search for either "Database" or "Technology".
I'm only able to search for the exact string ("Database Technology") so far by using the contain clause. I'm not able to get Oracle Text to return me any records that also contains "Database" or "Technology" if the exact match "Database Technology" cannot be located.
Any help is very much appreciated.

You need to use the ACCUM operator. It raises the score based on the the frequencies of more than one word. Here are the contents of my TEXT1 test table:
TEXT
database
server
database server
database blah blah database
database blah blah server
select score(1), text1.* from text1 where contains(text,'database ACCUM server ACCUM database server',1) > 0 order by score(1) desc;
and here are the results:
SCORE(1) TEXT
68 database server
34 database blah blah server
2 database blah blah database
1 server
1 database
You may want to put a multiplier on the "database server" phrase's score to increase the score on when the complete phrase is found. That looks like this, for example:
select score(1), text1.text from text1 where contains(text,'database ACCUM server ACCUM database server*3',1) > 0 order by score(1) desc

If you want to scan for Business Objects (BOR) use transaction SWO1
For ABAP classes / objects use a combination of transactions SE24 / SE18 / SE19 and /or SE80
(SE 18 / SE 19 are for Badi's)

the mismatch could be due to the Fuzzy search profile option.
Please check if fuzzy search has been enabled.
