Search for Idocs in XI
Hi
in our scenario we have idocs being posted from xi to crm.
But the idoc numbers are different in xi and crm.
Is there any way to:
Search for a particular idoc in crm and its corresponding idoc in xi.
i mean suppose 123xxx is an idoc in crm that was posted from xi then corresponding idoc of 123xxx in XI .
Thanks in Advance.
Helpful answers would be rewarded.
Thanks,
Amith
Hi Juvvadi,
i will explain the process which i use for searching XI IDOC number for R3 IDOC number.
In R3 system,go to EDIDS DB table, restrict selection with IDOC number(CRM) and status 50 and get TID.
In XI,execute Tcode-IDX5, give TID and Created On Date,Execute.Extended Functionality(****F1),Select all then IDOC Tracking(ShiftF4). Then it gives XI IDOC number and related CRM IDOC number.
Cheers,
Jag

Can I search for iDOCS in the Cloud?
We are integrated with our OnPrem system via HCI for Customers and Employees. A change occurred to one of our employees within our ERP system (last name changed). The change came over to our OnPrem system from ERP and an iDOC was generated to send the changed information to the Cloud. The iDOC has a green status and not indicating any errors. However, when we look at the record in the cloud, the last name of the employee is not updated. We checked Business Communication Monitoring and find no errors. So, in summary, the iDOC was sent successfully to the cloud, the record was not updated but there are no errors.
Can you search the cloud for the iDOC that was sent from OnPrem?
How do we go about finding out why the record was not updated?
Thanks in advance for anyone's help on this.
JeffHello Jeff,
There is no direct way of searching an IDOC is cloud for system, as Cloud for system only receives XML messages . Here is what you need to do (I am assuming in WE21 on your ERP system the content type is set to Text/XML and SOAP protocol option is checked )
In HCI message monitor based on the time stamp locate the message which corresponds to the IDOC. In the message monitor log the IDOC no should be listed in a line similar to "com.sap.sod.utils.idoc.soap.idocassign= [0000000001472565,0000000001472565]" and you should see another line for the message ID similar to "com.sap.sod.utils.idoc.soap.messageid= 005056B239651ED480D7B2C829F3878D"
Take the message id from HCI message monitor and then in the web service monitoring in your Cloud system under the advanced section provide the message id to locate the message.
This is bit cumbersome process specifically the HCI monitoring part but as of now this is only way of searching.

Hi am interested to learn about idocs can you provide me some useful links
Hi saranya srithar ,
IDoc is an Intermediate document that holds application data.
A container used to exchange data
It is independent of the complex SAP structure to store data.
It serves as the vehicle for data transfer.
IDoc Type defines the structure and format in which the data is exchanged.
It is similar to a structure in SAP
IDoc data is an instance of IDoc Type
IDoc acts as a standard SAP interface to exchange business data through ALE.
From an SAP system, an IDoc can be sent to and received from
An SAP R/3 system
An SAP R/2 system
An EDI subsystem
Any third-party application software

Hi friends,
Could you please tell me the details required for doign a IDOC scenario.
I want the details seperately when IDOC is a sender and also when IDOC is a receiver.
Note: High reward points for the replyHI
IDoc (for intermediate document) is a standard data structure for electronic data interchange (EDI) between application programs written for the popular SAP business system or between an SAP application and an external program. IDocs serve as the vehicle for data transfer in SAP's Application Link Enabling (ALE) system. IDocs are used for asynchronous transactions: each IDoc generated exists as a self-contained text file that can then be transmitted to the requesting workstation without connecting to the central database. Another SAP mechanism, the Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) is used for synchronous transactions.
A large enterprise's networked computing environment is likely to connect many geographically distributed computers to the main database. These computers are likely to use different hardware and/or operating system platforms. An IDoc encapsulates data so that it can be exchanged between different systems without conversion from one format to another.
IDoc types define different categories of data, such as purchase orders or invoices, which may then be broken down into more specific categories called message types. Greater specificity means that an IDoc type is capable of storing only the data required for a particular transaction, which increases efficiency and decreases resource demands.
An IDoc can be generated at any point in a transaction process. For example, during a shipping transaction process, an IDoc may be generated that includes the data fields required to print a shipping manifest. After a user performs an SAP transaction, one or more IDocs are generated in the sending database and passed to the ALE communication layer. The communication layer performs a Remote Function Call (RFC), using the port definition and RFC destination specified by the customer model. The IDoc is transmitted to the receiver, which may be an R/3, R/2, or some external system.
Idoc creation
IDOC Programming
There are two processes in IDOC processing one is INBOUND PROCESS( IDOC coming to the system and its handling at various stages) and the other is OUTBOUND PROCESS( IDOC is send to other system . Separate ABAP programs are written for these 2 processes and different configuration settings are required for each one .Depending upon the trigeering mechanism different programming approaches are used.OUTBOUND PROGRAMS handle the IDOC creation and INBOUND PROGRAMS handle the inbound IDOC and the data trasfer from the IDOC to the database tables.
The basic structure of all outbound programs is same. The CONTROL
record which is of TYPE EDIDC has to be filled. It contains important fields like
IDOCTP IDOC type
MESTYP Message Type
RCVPRN Recieving Partner (Destination)
RCVPRT Partner Type (it is LS i.e Logical System)
The DATA RECORD internal table which is of TYPE EDIDD has to be filled
in the same order as there are segments in the IDOC definition.
It has 2 important fields which are to be filled ,these are
SEGNAM Name of the segment
SEGDATA Data in the segment and can be upto 1000 bytes. This field
is corresponds to each data segment in the IDOC.
e.g.
DATA INT_EDIDD LIKE EDIDD OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
DATA W_SEGDATA LIKE zsegment "custom segment zsegment
INT_EDIDD-SEGNAM = 'ZSEGMENT'
W_SEGDATA-field1 = value "taken from some table
W_SEGDATA-field2 = value "taken from some table
INT_EDIDD-SEGDATA = W_SEGDATA
APPEND INT_EDIDD
This will fill the data record corresponding to the segment ZSEGMENT . For all
segments the sam steps will be repeated until all the data corresponding to all the
segments in the idoc is filled in the internal table of type EDIDD.
There is only one control record and can be multile data records in the idoc
structure.
Which data is to be extracted from the tables to be filled in EDIDD type internal table is determined in standalone programs from the objects which are specified in the selection screen and from the object key passed to the function module in case of message control and is taken from BDCP table in case of change pointers using function modules "CHANGE_POINTERS_READ"
In case of stand alone programs and function modules based on change pointers method the function module "MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE" is used to send the IDOC to ALE layer for distribution ,in case of message control it is handled automatically by the RSNASTED program invoked by the message control.

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data. IDoc is not a process.
- IDocs are stored in the database.
- In the SAP system, IDocs are stored in database tables.
- IDocs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
- IDocs are independent of the direction of data exchange.

Searching for segment data in an IDOC!
I had created some MATERIALVALUATION_PRICECHANGE idocs (approx 1000).
Some idocs failed to update the material standard price. How can I search which IDOC is having material X in the segment data?
Please suggest.
Thanks,Hi Somen,
The data in each segment for the idocs on the screen can be viewed if your version is ECC 5 or more.(I am not sure of 4.6 version) . You may go to we05 to display all the idocs. On the displayed screen we have an option in the tool bar - List specific segment (shift + F1). You may choose the segment and say continue, the sdata of the segment can be viewed on the next screen. Hope this helps.

Help in creation of XML file for IDOC postings
Hi All,
Need help if anyone has knowledge/experience in creating XML files for IDOC processing.
We need to design an input file (in XML format) for creation of IDOCu2019s for purchase Invoices through Interface.
We have an existing input file, which is working correctly. We are trying to modify this existing input file for a new Tax Code (Non-deductible inverse tax liability). This tax code is working fine for manual postings. But, through IDOC, tax postings are not correctly triggering.
Could you please confirm if any one has experience on this, so that I can share more details for resolving.
Thanks & Regards,
SriniHello,
you can use CALL TRANSFORMATION id, which will create a exact "print" of the ABAP data into the XML.
If you need to change the structure of XML, you can alter your ABAP structure to match the requirements.
Of course you can create your own XSLT but that is not that easy to describe and nobody will do that for you around here. If you would like to start with XSLT, you´d better start the search.

Hi
I am searching for a BPM scenario which shows the need for BPM. I might use: JDBC, File, RFC and IDOC adapters.
Could you quickly describe me a scenario making use of those adapters which also has a business use case in the background?
That would be great !!!
Thanks.
Go:khanHi Gokhan,
Consider a Scenario with 2 senders and 1 receiver.the explanation is given below.
The steps to be followed to have 2 senders and 1 receiver in your case, we need to follow the following steps:
1) RFC from A will trigger the BPM.
2) Receive step
3) Send step (sync) to call RFC in B
4) Transform step map response from B and A's data to C
5) Send step send the output to C.
Think these 2 blogs can help you to configure a BPM using RFC synchronous call.

How to find standard function modules for IDOCs
Hi,
Can anyone tell me is there any way to find the standard function module for IDOC. I have checked BD60 but it's not available. For example Idoc type WPUBON01 and I need to know the function module. Can anyone tell me the way out.
Secondly, if anyone can provide me the code to map the file fields and idoc segements.
RegardsUse WE82 to find message type associated with Idoc type.
Then use this message type as a search string to find the FM.

Search for objects assigned to "My Group" (Higher Duties)
When searching for Business transactions Assigned to "My Group", when the user is CP Holds (higher duty) the user can only see the transactions assigned to his position like Owner (Business Partner), but not the transactions for the higher duty.
We're using organization chart with integration with SAP ECC HR. In HR a Higher Duties is when an employee work for a period, in a position, which is not his or her own. This is a position with a higher classification and the employee receives a higher remuneration for this assignment. In CRM the IDOC synchronize correctly the employee in new position with the relationship "Higher Duty" in the organization chart.
However, for this new assignment in the organization chart, when the user search the document assigned to "My Group", the system only show the document for the normal position and not for the Higher duty position.Answer from SAP: Higher duty is not supported by SAP in SAP CRM.
However is a valid infotype in SAP ECC -

I have 3 older ext. hard drives that I've utilized many times. Today while searching for old files, one of the three is no longer recognized by my PowerMac. The drive is not listed in Disk Utility. Any suggestions?
Is the computer in you equipment line:
Dual Core Intel Xenon
(which is not a PowerMac but a Mac Pro) the one you are asking about, or do you have an older PowerMac?
If a Mac Pro, their forums are here:
Mac Pro
and, as Mac Pros have a totally different architecture from the pre-2005 Macs this forum covers, you may not have the same issues that can affect the older models. If someone didn't notice your equipment line, you could get advice that doesn't apply.
If you really have a pre-2005 PowerMac, read on.
If the stubborn external is USB and does not have its own power brick (i.e., it gets power only from the computer's UBS ports--"bus powered"), it may not be getting enough power. As electric motors age, they can demand more power than when new, and the power available on any USB port is limited.
The typical workabouts to making a computer recognize an aging, bus-powered USB drive are:
Get a powered USB hub (has its own power brick
Get a "Y" USB cable: 1 Meter USB 2.0 A to 5 Pin Mini B Cable - Auxiliary USB "Y" Power Design for external hard drives.
The second gets power from two USB ports on the computer and often that's enough.
Remember that the USB ports on your keyboard seldom provide enough power even for a thumb drive, so be sure to use the USB ports on the back of the computer. -
