Search function for Catalogue CCM 1.0 SRM version 4

Dear Experts
Quite frequently the search function in our catalogue stops working via Display Categories Hierarchically, and when enter description in the find (advanced search) nothing is returned and the only way to search is via the Display Categories as Index.
The only way to resolve this issue is to republish the catalogue.  We have 2 catalogues, one takes a hour to re publish and the second can take several hours, I am sure this is not best practice.
Can anyone advise what process should be followed to re start the search functionality in SRM.
Thanks in advance
Sharon

Hi Mikhail ,
I am new to the SRM scene and I am unsure how to "Could I ask you to create a new support case for BC-TRX component."
Would this be something I would forward to basis team???.
I think the short term I will set up a batch job to publish both master catalogues once a week then when I get a new hierarchy struture I will create full master catalogue and load schemas and check out how the indexes are created.
Thanks for all you useful advise on this.
Thanks
Sharon
no it's not a standard behaviour. Unfortunately it's not clear which TREX process stops to respond : RfcServer or IndexServer. Could I ask you to create a new support case for BC-TRX component.
Best regards,
Mikhail

  • Catalogue Deletion for Catalogue CCM 1.0 SRM version 4

    Dear All
I am new to SRM and Catalogue Content Management, we currently use version CCM 1.0 and I hope to attend CCM 2.0 in the near future.  There is only one person who is responsible for edit, and publishing the catalogue for our company.  We recently had a problem where he tried to delete a vendor catalogue from our system directly from SRM and did not break the links between the procurement catalogue and the  master catalogue.  He simply selected the vendor catalogue and selected delete.  If I search for the vendor in the catalogue then nothing appears but if i drill down on the procurement catalogue I can find products for the vendor and these items can still be selected when shopping.
Can someone confirm the process for vendor catalogue deletion in SRM.
    Thanks in advance
    Sharon

    Hi Sharon,
To delete the vendor catalog in CCM..
    1. You have to take off all the mappings with master catalog and procurement catalog then all the item data came to procurement catalog will be deleted .
    2. Select the vendor catalog and select delete.
3.Unfortunately you have deleted the supplier catalog from the table  itself.
It wont delete all the data that is present in CAT .
    4. To delete supplier catalog completely try this program  /CCM/CLEANUP_CATALOG give the name of the catalog and try to delete the catalog.

  • Search function for Product description in shopping cart

    Hi,
We are using SRM 5.5 version. We have a problem when we are searching the Product with the Product description.
Shop -> Create Shopping Cart -> Internal Goods/Services
Enter a pattern between the stars such as
    *cap*
    and then Click Start.
System is not restricting the search output with the pattern
    *cap*
. Instead it is displaying all the Products and search is not getting restricted by the search function.
When I was searching for an OSS note to fix this issue, i found the note(1322462) to fix a similar issue with the Product ID.
Do we have any SAP note to fix the issue with the Product Description? Please guide me.
    With regards

    Hi Muthu,
Current service pack  is SP 13(SAPKIBKT13).
I believe this SAP note 1322462 can resolve the issue with search function for the "Product ID". I will implement this note and let you know the result.
Do we have any SAP note to solve the issue with the search function for "Product Description"?

  • Crash on search function for HTML Help file (.chm) when connected to a Visual C++ application

Crash on search function for HTML Help file (.chm) when
connected to a Visual C++ application
I use the RH_ShowHelp API command to connect a HTML Help file
(.chm file generated by RoboHelp Word X 5) to my Visual C++
application. My application is able to call up this HTML help file
in context-sensitive mode and everything is working great in the
Contents and Index panels EXCEPT when I click on List Topics (after
I enter a KEYWORD for search) in the Search panel.
I got an error that said “Unhandled exception in
    xxxx.exe.(HHCTRL.OCX):0xC00000FD: Stack overflow”
I am able to execute this .chm file by itself and the search
function works well in this case. I am using HHActiveX.dll that is
created on 2/23/04. Is this the correct version?? Any advice what
    to do here??

Hi agschin and welcome to the RH forums. The hhactivex.dll
file is not used by the search function so you can rule that our.
Have you tried recompiling and seeing if the problem still happens?
You can also start the Bug Hunter feature in RH - View > Output
View and then select the Bug Hunter button - and see if that throws
    up any clues.

  • N73 - trouble with search function for the contact...

Hi, i just bought a N73 series phone. i noticed that N73 search function for the contact list is different from others standard. Normally, it should show the 1st contact of the 1st letter that i pressed instead of the contact contains the letter. I found difficulties to look for the contact unless i press 3 or 4 letters. is there any setting can be changed to order search function only search the contacts with the 1st letter that i pressed instead of the letter in middle of the contact?
    For example:
    ang on
    office
when i pressed "o", the contact will search for "ang on" instead of "office" unless i press few more letters like "off".
hope to get some help from you guys.

I found the same problem as this with all my S60 3rd edition phones, what I have done is in my contacts put a hyphen (-)in between the name - i.e Joe Blogs would come us under searches for J & B, so try putting Joe-Bloggs, this way, the search will only come up with all the J's in your phone book directory.
    Hope this helps, DLJ

  • How to build search help for company code (BUK) in SRM

    Hello,
I am new to SRM and was wondering if any have come across similar requirement. I am a workflow developer and we are building a custom table to derive deadline escalation timelines. We are also adding a field in our custom table for company code so that we can have company specific deadlines. table T001 is empty in SRM and hence we are unable to use F4 (search help). Is there existing functionality in SRM that gets this search from the backend ECC system and displays when F4 is pressed. How can I use that functinoality?
    Appreciate any info folks.
    Thanks again.

  • Custom search help for a custom field in SRM 7

EDIT: I'm gonna clarify on this thread since my first post wasn't explicative enough... thanks for the patience
    Hi all gurus,
the question is about a search help in SRM7 but since the task is about abap development, I guess this is the right section to ask for.
Shortly; every purchase doc in our SRM7 has a custom header table which contains data which are retrieved from the connected backends. In this custom table, the user has the opportunity to add manually a line, and for a specific input field in table, we have to define a search help which should retrieve the appropriate possible values w.r.t. the "target" backend for the document.
A bit of technical data: say the field is called ZZ_R3_ROLE; it's included in a custom structure ZR7_HEADER_CST_GEN which is itself an append for BBP_PDHCF.
I defined a Search Help for that field and the corresponding exit FM to manage our task.
Unfortunately, to retrieve the possible values for the specific backend I need some informations like:
    - the backend on which the document will be distributed;
    - the process type of the document.
This means that my search help should take into account additional informations that comes from the document I'm processing; I don't know what's the "clean" solution to do this.
I've seen on an old system (a SAP SRM 3.0) a workaround based on IMPORT/EXPORT ... TO MEMORY ID has been used. Actually, I'd like to find a more elegant solution, if any.
So... as you can see, I'm absolutely a newbie on the argument, but since I can trigger the search help only from a purchase document (PO, contract) process, I should need at least the GUID of the document to retrieve, for example, what's the target backend for that document in order to provide proper values.
Any hint/suggestion and in particular, a sketch of code as example is welcome.

    Hi,
    into your modify view,
extract data you need in your search help in an itab (do it into a class do not perform select directly into modify view) and then bind it as value help to your WD element.

  • Help needed: Search function for custom Repository Manager

    Hi there,
i'm writing my own Repository Manager for EP 6.0 SP2 PL4.
I've serious problems getting the search function running. I'm using the 'new', Netweaver-based API.
I think, there are some general questions to answer:
    - My Repository Manager exposes lots of custom
properties to the system. I create the properties
       for example using following code:
       IProperty newProp = new StringSingleValueProperty(
         PropertyName.getPropertyName(
                  "{}" + myAttName),
         myAttVal,                         PropertyFlags.constructFlags(
                  true, false, true, false)
Is there any convention for the propertie's name?
I think it has to be written in lowercase only?
Can I use ANY namespace I want instead of the
        empty default namespace? (For example:
    - After indexing my resources (of course, containing my
custom properties), the TREX-Monitoring screen for my
index shows all my custom properties in the 'Document
Properties' area, but all uppercase chars are escaped
       somewhat. Is this OK?
    - Trying to use the index above to search for particular
resources in my repository by my custom properties
fails all the time ('no docs found...'); searching for
any system property works fine. What's the reason?
    - How can I force the (Property-) search uses my
       custom namespace-manager's methods
       isQueryPropertyNameUnderstood() and
       getQueryBuilder()
to perform a 'pure' property search by the repository
manager? It seems that the TREX always handles the
queries by itself, because my methods are never called.
    Thanx for you help,
    Daniel

I created a new manager and copied the classes exactly from the "simple" example and I see similar behavior. Actually, when I do this, folders are recursively copied, but not files. Again, browsing and viewing of files work fine. Again, I am not seeing any unexpected exceptions.
The only thing that changed were the names and namespaces. Nothing else at all was changed.
This makes me think I am missing some configuration somewhere or there is something special about the example project that the wizards are not creating. The only difference I see in the project file is an additional nature (com.tssap.selena.cmf.PatternNature), but I am not sure that is relevant.
    Wow, I am really stumped.

  • Grouping words in preview search function for PDFs

    Hi there,
I'm looking to see if anyone can help me with the search function in preview. I would like to change the search function so that I can search an entire phrase rather than the individual words. For example, when I read business reports I might want to jump straight to the income statement, so I enter "income statement" in the search box. But instead of searching for the phrase "income statement", it shows all results for both "income" and "statement", giving me about 500 matches. Is there a way I can change this so that when I search for a phrase it only shows results for the entire phrase and not each word? Thanks.
    Regards,
    Saiyaman

Ah, perfect! I've just tried it now and it works very well. Never knew I could do that. It helped me a lot, thank you very much!

  • E-Recruiting Search functionality for Candidate in Talent Pool

For search functionality of candidates in the talent pool, does anyone have any idea how the ranking percentage is calculated??  There is no clear documentation out there about what factors are used and how they are weighted.  I am aware that additional ranking that can be defined in the configuration and also questionaire results can influence this ranking as well.
However, in the absence of this additional ranking in talent management and questionaire results to job postings, are the selection criteria for the search the only items taken into account for calculation for this ranking percentage?
What is everyone else's experiences in the fact that search functionality tends to treat the various selection criteria as 'OR' conditions?  The client I am working for is unhappy that candidates who don't match every set of selection criteria are being displayed on the hitlist.  Would like to hear what other client's responses has been to this...
    Sandra

Had directed this question to SAP and did not get an adequate response to date with regards to how ranking is calculated.
However, SAP did respond to why search functionality treating the various selection criteria as 'OR' conditions for searching candidates in Talent Pool.  This is due to configuration values in tables T77RCF_SRCH_ATTC and T77RCF_SRCH_ATTR.  The field RANKING must be set to blank value.  SAP delivers this as 'X' - ranking percentage is calculated.  This change now makes the combination of various selection criteria elements as 'AND' conditions, and the ranking percentage is no longer displayed.

  • Search function for own Shapes

    Hallo,
i want to search for my selfmade Visio Shapes.
The Visio search function can´t find my Shapes. I copied my Shapes in C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Shapes but is doesent work.
    What´s my mistake?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
Which Visio's version do you use? Visio 2013 or other.
Did you get some error messages? Like: Could not find a match.  Please search again.
Did you search the build-in shapes?
If you can't search all of the local shapes, this issue may be caused by the "windows search" option disabled. Please see this
thread, I copied the suggestion here:
    ======
I have new information on the issue with 64-bit systems and Visio 2007/2003 versions.  I was incorrect when I stated this was not able to work properly on 64-bit systems.
The missing link in our testing has been the enabling of the Indexing Service after the installation of the 64-bit IFilter Pack from the download centerhttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=60c92a37-719c-4077-b5c6-cac34f4227cc
(Note that there are two downloads - choose the 64-bit one for your 64-bit OS)
    1) Ensure your OS has Indexing enabled:
Windows 7 and Windows Vista: Control Panel / Programs / Turn WIndows features on or off / Enable "Indexing Service" / OK  [ restart if required ]
Windows XP: Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs / Add/Remove Windows Components / Enable "Indexing Service" / Next / Finish
    2) Download and install the IFilter pack above.
    3) Enable Visio shapes indexing.
        a) When Visio is first launched, it may prompt users to enable the Indexing Service.
        b) Manually - Open the Tools / Options dialog, select the Shape Search tab, click on Visio Local Shapes and then click the "Properties" button, ensure the option "Yes, enable Indexing Service" is selected.
NOTE ... If Visio cannot find its Index catalog, you may see an error "1.  Visio Local Shapes - The Visio Indexing Service Catalog does not exist.  Please repair the Visio installation."  To recover from this,
close Visio and all other Office applications, and use the Control Panel to repair the Visio installation, then restart your computer.
Also -make sure that the Indexing Service is actually started, as it may be set to Manual startup versus Automatic.  Check in the Administrative Tools / Services app.
After these components are installed / configured, restart the computer.  You may need to allow some time for indexing of your local files to be completed.  Once the indexing is complete, you should start to see improved results.  Let me know
if this helps with searching for Visio shapes on 64-bit operating systems.

  • Important! search function for everybody with old version 5G ipod video

Hey everybody. A lot of people want to have a search function on their old version ipod video, as do i. But an update fixing the problem is not in the apple planning. So i called tech support and they made a request to apple for me, telling them that such an update is wanted. But they won`t act on it until they have enough requests. So i`m asking everybody with this problem, and perhaps also people who just want to help, to call tech support (not the apple store) and make a request to apple for them to make this update. If a lot of people do this hopefully we`ll get the update!

    You can send feedback to Apple here;
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipod.html
I don't know if the can or will add this feature, but
it doesn't hurt to make the suggestion using the
    proper feedback channels.
    Cheers!

    Good idea.. I'll do this.
    thanks.

  • How do I use the new search function for ipod?

itunes 7.0 and ipod is up to date:
when i scroll through the music, i get the nifty little grey box with the letter in it, but how do i get to the search where i use the click wheel to input a query and search through all items in my ipod?

Unless your iPod is one of the recently announced upgraded 30GB or 80GB iPods, you don't have the search function. It was not added to existing devices in the recent update. It may or may not be added in some future software update but there's no official word on that.

  • Any search function for notes in iPhone

    Hi, Apple Fans:
Does anybody knows how to search in "notes" section in iPhones?  I really need the search function to look up the notes I jut down there.
Right now the notes are arranged by dates but no search function.
if it hasn't be invented, it should have.
    BIgApple1980

Use the Spotlight search function on the phone. You activate this from the home screen by swiping downwards from the middle of the screen. All you need to do is make sure that you have Notes checked in the Spotlight search options in Settings. Go to Setting>General>Spotlight Search and make sure there is a checkmark by Notes.
