Search function in calender doesn't exist...why

Why oh why is there no search from within the calender app. All I want to be able to do is search and copy an older apointment to a new loction without removing the old reference. Like hell, there is a search in the address book with a copy and paste. And isn't that the whole idea with a calender. Look back in time to see where you were and when. I use the calender all day long for my business and with my old palm I could find any reference to name or address, whatevver, any and all items matching would come up. I could copy the item information and paste it to the new date. I have alot of repeating customers and to have do go through what I have to do with this calender just to copy an old appointment and paste it to the new date is unbelievable.
Step 1 leave calender program and open Search program
Step 2 Type reference in the proper location, text or name hit mouses select search
Step 3 option then scroll over the information. If it's devided into name and location that is two times this process
Step 3 once selected...option copy
Step 4 go back to calender find date you want the entry to be copied in and paste
Palm process Yahoo Microsoft Sun...anyone  they are all the same
Step 1 From within the calender program hit find, type any reference, pick copy then paste to new location

  • [Solved] Boot error: /etc/rc.d/functions /etc/netcfg doesn't exist

    Hi everybody,
Well, after a bit of playing around, wiki reading and trouble-shooting, i now have an automatic wireless connection at boot via netcfg2 and my wireless profile. Great stuff.
By the way, whoever wrote this: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Net … _netcfg_v2, you deserev a medal.
Anyway, to the problem. I get an error message at boot which informs me that there is an error in my /etc/rc.d/functions file at line 155, stating that /etc/rc.d/netcfg doesn't exist (which is correct).
However, when I look at the functions file, I cannot for the life of me see the problem.
    Line 155 is: /etc/rc.d/$1 start
    154 start_daemon() {
    155 /etc/rc.d/$1 start
    These are my daemons:
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng cups hal avahi-daemon sshd snmpd xinetd portmap netcfg net-profiles)
The obvious thing would be a problem with the netcfg daemon, but everything works ok, so go figure.
The only real reference i found was this:
    http://www.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch … 03699.html
I'm fine with an optional dep - how about we throw a comment above
'NETWORKS' and have rc.sysinit throw a warning it NETWORKS is defined
    but /etc/rc.d/netcfg isn't found?
    Any help appreciated.

  • Function module EBBS_ITEMS_READ doesn't exist in ECC 5(SAPNetweaver)!

    Hi,
In our 4.6B system we have a few programs that use function module EBBS_ITEMS_READ.
Unfortunately this function module no longer exists in ECC 5 and our programs no longer work!
SO I've tried to find what SAP has done to replace these function modules and I've had no luck!?
I then thought that I could copy the function module into ECC 5 as a 'Z' funcion module but EBBS_ITEMS_READ calls about 20 other function modules that are also missing.
I am really stuck on how to recraete this functionality in ECC 5. Does anyone have any good ideas or tips?
    Please help!!!!!

    Hi Robert,
Sorry to disappoint you, but this functionality has been removed.
As you certainly are aware of this functionality belongs to SD functionality for RRB - Resource Related Billing. In 4.5 a new solution for RRB was developed - the DIP, Dynamic Item Processor. Have a look at trans ODP1 in config or SAP Help for further info.
This functionality was removed already in 4.7 Enterprise and, in my opinion, SAP has stated this quite clearly since several years.
Now, if you still have own Z-program relying on the EBBS function group you quite obviously face a big problem. RRB now uses the DP9x, (x = 0, 1, 5), transactions and not the good old VA90 anymore. Have a look at package VPK for info about FM and other stuff for DP9x solution.
My best advise is to ask a functional consultant about this. I guess that DP9x is already used in your ECC system. If not then this must be configured and a cut-over plan has to be developed. This is quite some work - I have just done all this conversion and cut-over for a company and it has taken some 6 months calender time with all internal communication, config, etc etc needed.
Sorry, no other way, to the best of my knowledge working in this area (amongst other) since a good 10+ years both function wise and also having done a lot of programming as well.
Feel free to ask follow up questions.
    Regards, Johan

  • Search function in iCal doesn't work

Can't search in iCal. Notice other posts, but where's the fix?

    Brentbin,
Notice other posts, but where's the fix?
    What have you tried?
Have you tried to...quit iCal, open System Preferences>Spotlight>Privacy, and add your Macintosh HD to the list?
Wait a couple of minutes, and then remove your Macintosh HD from the Privacy list. You should notice (after a short delay) that Spotlight is reindexing your HD. After Spotlight completes the index, open iCal and see if your search works.

  • WinMo5 search function

The search function in WinMo5 doesn't return results if object of the search string is in a Note or other text fields (I do have it set to search "All data").  Is there anything I can do to get it to return results where ever they are in the database?

What handset do you have and are you running Lumia Cyan as well as WP 8.1 ? Have you tried a soft reset - hold both Volume Down and Power buttons pressed until the phone vibrates and restarts. Note that you may lose correct Date nad time settings, which need to be restored for proper use of the handset.

    Hi Mario
Those functions are created automatically by SAP system.
Please go through step below to force system to recreate this:
       1. Se11
       2. Lock object /RPM/ENQ_RES_OBJ
       3. Activate

  • The "Search" function box doesn't find things that are there! Why?!

The "Search" function box doesn't find things that are there! Why? Eg: It doesnt show all my Sent and Received emails, but it will find an email that I half wrote and deleted. Unsure why or how to explain more fully.
I also don't understand if I type in "James email" or "J" into the search box and all the J / James stuff appears but it doesn't show the emails I know have been sent and I know are somewhere because I rang "James" up to check, but the search box shows random thing I am NOT looking for, even if I type in fully what I am looking for and test it by typing in full titles of things.
It also doesn't store all my sent emails in "Sent" box. Confused! I'm not sure if the "Search" box just isn't up to the job or if it is broken / i'm doing something wrong? Maybe the email address I use isn't set up properly?

This can happen sometimes if the cache is not cleared correctly when items are not deleted from your device.
The only solution to this is to do a restore to clean out the cache file.

  • Attempting to upgarde itunes and I get an error message looking for "an alternate path to a folder containing 'iTunes.msi' location.  I've searched my hard drive and the file doesn't exist.  What to do?

Attempting to upgarde itunes and I get an error message looking for "an alternate path to a folder containing 'iTunes.msi' location.  I've searched my hard drive and the file doesn't exist.  What to do?

This worked...found on a prior discussion:
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page)...
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
From the link above (near the top of the page)....Under 'download locations'   click on 'download@majorgeeks'
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you just downloaded and ran.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    Restart your computer.
Re-download Itunes (latest version form Itunes website) and install.  It worked!

  • HT1338 On macbook MAIL the search function doesn't work?

On my macbook retina pro with latest updated softwares the search function in "MAIL" doesnt work. It is supposed to be pretty simple fucntion and on my iphone and othe rmail programs it works fine. However once i type anything in "Search bar" at top right then inbox goes empty and nothing appears. Whereas the search bar gives options of sveral email names etc, even if i select one. It doesn't work.
    Pls help. best regards. NA

Which search function do you mean?
*searching via the location bar (pref: keyword.URL)
*search bar on the Navigation Toolbar
*search bar on the about:home page (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename)
*other search bar (e.g. added by extension)
Is this about the about:home page?
If there is a problem with searching via the default about:home page then try to reset the search engine used on the about:home page.
Reset the <b>browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone</b> pref via the right-click context menu to the default on the <b>about:config</b> page and close and restart Firefox to restore the about:home page to its default.
#Open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar
#Type in the Filter bar: mstone
#Right-click the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line and select: Reset
    #Close and restart Firefox
If this didn't help then delete the delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder and repeat the above.
You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

  • My intel iMac keeps searching for a drive that doesn't exist.

My intel iMac opens a window saying it cannot find a drive with the IP address of 10.0.1.196 which, ot the best of my knowledge doesn't exist. The address is always the same, even after reprovisioning our entire system from modem to all the computers we have. The window will come up after a restart but before I have our server selected, but it will also pop up at almost any time. When it does, after clicking OK, it will reappear every few seconds for 5-10 times then stop. Very aggrevating because the window puts whatever I am doing in the background and I must click the OK and close the window before proceding with my work. Any way to stop this?

I am not sure that I got the wireless instructions correct. I opened the window to connect to a wireless network and instead of typing in a name I just typed in a dash. This caused my Airport icon to be grayed out. I then rejoined our office network by turning off and then restarting Airport.
For the ethernet connection, I did as instructed and then tested by turning off the Airport on the computer so I was only connected using ethernet.
Neither of these worked and the computer still searches for the same IP address.

Hi and welcome to the discussions.   This happens once in a while for no apparent reason.  When it happens to me, a simple log out/log in usually gets things going again.  I haven't researched to see what process died when this happens.
If that doesn't, then a restart, but first check Spotlight in System Preferences and make sure that the Privacy list is empty.

  • Mail search function doesn't work

Our Mail Search Function no longer works - does anyone have a fix?   the mailboxes have been rebuilt, the envelope files in the library/mail directory have been deleted, and the emails have been re-indexed - still no luck in searching in the mail search feature.  This was never an issure before the upgrade.  Please provide help if you can ~ Thanks!~

THANKS!  Went thru about 90% of the things listed there.  Am Currently going thru the suggestion of the spotlight rebuild thru the terminal.
When I looked at the settings as stated here: For server-based accounts (IMAP, Exchange, iCloud, and MobileMe), make sure Mail is set to download entire messages—if it doesn’t, Spotlight can’t index them. Go to Mail -> Preferences, click Accounts, select an account, and click Advanced. Make sure the Keep Copies Of Messages For Offline Viewing pop-up menu says All Messages And Their Attachments.
This option is not viewable or available in my Mail Preference Advance screen and the "Keep Copies of Messages for Offline Viewing...." was not listed in any of the windows - went thru each one.  This option was was also mentioned under my "help" - but not finable in the preferences....
    Thanks again....

  • Search function exist?

Is there a search function in pl/sql (oracle 10.2g) that allows you to search through all the stored procedure existing on the database for a certain string? For instance, if I wanted to search for a stored procedure that has the string 'client' in the header is there anything that allows me to do this?

What do you mean "in the header"? If you want to search procedure code use:
    SELECT  DISTINCT OWNER,
                     NAME
      FROM  DBA_SOURCE
      WHERE TEXT LIKE '%client%'
        AND TYPE = 'PROCEDURE'
    /or, for case insensitive search:
    SELECT  DISTINCT OWNER,
                     NAME
      FROM  DBA_SOURCE
      WHERE LOWER(TEXT) LIKE '%client%'
        AND TYPE = 'PROCEDURE'
    /SY.
P.S. The above will exclude package procedures

  • ICal Tasks/To Do Items Keep Disappearing, plus search function doesn't work

Ever since I upgraded my Mobile Me calendars about two or three weeks ago, which as I understand makes my calendars now LIVE on the Mobile Me cloud instead of directly on my computers, I have had nothing but trouble with iCal. I use Bento with iCal for my project management system — I use the iCal Tasks for my basic information, and I added extra fields in Bento for other details I like to track. Anyway, the upgrade completely unhinged where those two came together so that the basic information that Bento was getting from iCal no longer matched with the extra details.
But that's no longer my problem. I fixed that easily by completely changing the way I track things now — I did away with the extra fields and decided to have Bento work directly and only with the information in my iCal app.
Still, another problem came up, the one I need an answer to. New tasks I entered through Bento, wouldn't KEEP on iCal. They'd show up momentarily, but a day or two later, they would be gone.
I thought I fixed it a few days ago when I discovered that Time Zone Support wasn't checked on iCal. I made sure it was checked on all my computers AND on Mobile Me because I suspected that Tasks were disappearing every time my computers synced with Mobile Me. It seemed to work fine after making sure everything supported time zones. I even synced a few times, just to test it, checked all calendars at all places, and whatever Tasks or To Do Items I added from within Bento appeared to sync fine, appear at all the proper places, at all instances of the calendars, AND stay put.
BUT I just discovered tonight, that the new Tasks I entered in the last week for one of my calendars have ONCE AGAIN disappeared. For some reason, though, the new tasks I entered for another one of my calendars managed to stay put. I have no idea why one calendar was affected and another wasn't.
The point is, I can't for the life of me figure out why my newly entered Tasks keep disappearing. Is it an iCal thing? Is it Mobile Me? Is it because I am entering the tasks/to do items from within Bento? What?
And the icing on the cake? The search function on the iCal app on one of my computers no longer works. I will search for a task/to do item that I KNOW is there and can actually see on the side bar, but it will not pop up in the search results. I searched online about how to fix that, but none of the fixes work — many of them, I believe, are outdated and so can't work in my case.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix these issues?

with iTunes and the apple.com web site, you don't hit
the Magnifing glass, after typing out what your
searching for, you hit enter on the keyboard. The mag
glass (Atleast in windows) is just for decor showing
you its a search field, its not an actual button like
it would be in most Microsoft/Windows apps
Thanks. I thought the magnifying glass was a clickable icon.
