Search Functionality from Outside a PDF?

Hi All,
I would like to create search bar that lets you choose a country, then product (each product+ country will be associated with a signle pdf), then search for a key word (s). At that time the PDF will open on the webpage below search bar with the key word or term highlighted.
Is it possible to utilize CTRL+F functionality from outside a .pdf?

the result list from the BS is displayed like a read-only list.
How do i select the required row from the pop-up window.
also, i dont have a bpa script. i have a stand along ui map called from the context menu, using portals.

I don't know of a way to invoke a javascript function from outside the PDF. Adobe LiveCycle Forms
(Form Server) gives you the ability to extract form data from a submitted form. You should
investigate this option.

Calling search services from outside sap

Dear Experts,
are there any chances to call the SES or the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search from outside the SAP environment by passing a search query and credentials per HTTP GET Request? The response schould be provided to callee in XML form. I think i can implement a kind of adapter (BSP,WebDynpro????????), which takes the requests, call the SES or NetWeaver Enterprise Search and builds XML based on the search results. Am i right?

Dear All,
i found a solution for my problem. i will use a HTTP-Request Handler for handling HTTP requests in SAP CRM system. I will pass a search query (some attributes of the Business Partner) to this Handler and use the function COM_SES_SEARCH_OBJECTS to perfom the search.
It is right, that i shall configure the settings in Customizing at SAP NetWeaver ® SAP Web Application Server ® System Administration® Search Engine Service (http://help.sap.com/SAPHELP_NW70/helpdata/EN/27/08ef417fc65f24e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm) for indexing the Business Object bus1006 (Business PArtner) and determine the RFC destination in order to use COM_SES_SEARCH_OBJECTS???
I am absolutely new to this thema und need your help!

Add a search function to my online PDF Portfolio?

Hi there,
I'm wondering if it's possible to add a search function that searches for keywords within all the documents in my online PDF Portfolio, like there is in the standalone desktop version.
I want to make the PDF's available online but a key function is for users to be able to search for various topics within the documents without reading each and every one of them.

Remove Saved Search functionality from Web IC

Hi Experts,
I have a view where in there is a component related to Saved Searches functionality that is appearing on the Web IC. Now, for my client, they do not want those fields to be visible.
So, I wanted to know how can those fields related to Saved search be removed from the Web IC.
I checked the configuration of the components used in that view and also for component usages of the component. But I did not find any component usage for the Saved search component. This sounds weird but I am not able to find out from where this Saved search component is displayed on the Web IC screen.
We didn't have this earlier in our system. This is introduced after we upgraded our system from CRM 6.0 to CRM 7.0 EHP2.
I have attached the screen shot of my view where the Saved Search fields are available.
Please suggest me some method by which these fields can be removed. Also, if there is any configuration in SPRO where this can be checked.

Can you check if your view belongs to a viewset? If so, try to find there in correspoding html code for tag "thtmlb:searchSavingArea", something like this:

I'm trying to find out if a topic has already been posted here, but I can't seem to find the Search Discussions function, which I'm certain used to be on the right of the screen.
Did Apple remove this functionality from the Discussions forum?

It's been temporarily disabled while they address some issues we're having with the forums lately.

How to - invoke OAF function from outside oracle with parameters?

I have an oaf page, that does simple create/update/view functions for set of records based on custom db.
currently user has to login to oracle apps, go to resp> invoke the page> search the part number > look up all the existing records(part#,set#,rev)> click on view link to view details of specific record.
The requirement is : to invoke a set of record outside oracle.
for example : user goes on network folder and opens a doc file from : /folder-2010/AAA-101-pqr.doc
contents of doc file :
revision = 1
setNumber=2
partNumber : ABCDEF* --this needs to be a link invoking the function call to the oaf page with these set of parameters :revision, part number and set number.
....and a few more....
What I did was : I gave the OAFunc=xxxxx guest grants (http://mukx.blogspot.com/2008/07/creation-of-anonymous-page-introduction.html)
so it invokes the main page from any file outside oracle, without login required. but i still have to search the existing records for a part number and click on view link.
How can I pass the part#,set#,rev to the link so that it opens up the view page directly ?
any help would be appreciated.

Can XSLT transformation created with XSLT_TOOL be called from outside?

I have created an XSLT transformation with the transaction XSLT_TOOL in the ECC 6.0 system.
I got a request if this XSLT transformation can be called from outside SAP, example Informatica Power Center. ( http://www.informatica.com/PRODUCTS_SERVICES/POWERCENTER/Pages/index.aspx )
Can these XSLT be called from outside?

Hi,
I don't think you can call the XSLT_TOOL from outside but what you can do is create a transformation and write a function that serves as a wrapper. You can call the function from outside (RFC) and the function could invoke an existing transformation.

I don't know about disgraceful but I too am very disappointed that the search function was not added to older iPods with this most recent update. As a programmer, I doubt very seriously that there is any technical reason which would prevent the search function from working on my year-old 30gb iPod Photo. Without some statement from Apple, it sure feels like a decision by the marketing department to force people to upgrade to the latest hardware.
Speaking as an Apple stockholder, I prefer to hear when Apple has delighted their customers. Happy customers are loyal customers.

Song Search Function is Missing

5th generation 30GB iPod. On my iPod, for years I was able to search for a song/artist by using the search function from the main menu and then using the wheel to select letters to type the name of the song or artist. Recently that function disappeared. Does anyone know how to get it back?

Is there a way to use the 'search' function outside the search menu

Is it possible, to activate the 'search function' outside the 'search menu' on the iPod classic ? With 30000 songs and more on an iPod, it would be great, if I could use this option i.e. in cover flow, display songs, or display albums. This way, I won't get any blisters on my fingers, from scrolling from "A hard day's night" to "You can't do that".

A couple of suggestions:
1. If you just have a few items you don't want included when you shuffle then find them in your library or playlist, pull up the info on the song/book/etc (File menu, Get info option), go to the "Options" tab and click the box that says "Skip when shuffling"
2. If there are a lot of items, then you may want to create a smart playlist (File menu, New Smart Playlist option) and set it up so that it excludes all the items you don't want. Then you can play that playlist on shuffle.

I am not familiar with Skim, but I use Adobe Reader all the time and it is quite fast on my Mac mini. Perhaps not as fast as Preview but still quite acceptable. If it is running that slow on your Mac I would suspect either you are low on RAM or perhaps the file you are reading is ill-formed. Are these problems occurring on more than one PDF from more than one original source? Do all PDFs scroll slowly or just some?

I am developping an interactive PDF and I would like to embed a search function (not the Ctrl+F option, an actual search button on each page, like on a website).
Is that possible? I am curently working in InDesign CS6

Searching a pdf file including both latin caracters and other (HERE: greek) . Entering words in English works but entering greek words the search function does not work

in a serachable dictionnary ( old greek-English) in pdf format the search function works when entering English words but not when entering greek words using the polytonic Greek keyboard from Windows. Why ? Is there a solution to search for Greek words ?

Try a copy/paste some of the Greek text out into Word. Does it display as expected in Word?
