Search help for time

HI,
I need a Search help for time field in case of input field ie the one similar to the date field.In webdynpro we have mapped the Tims data type to our input field.here Tims data type is the data type for time in the backend(R/3 system).Pls help me out its urgent.Pts will be awarded to any of the helpful solutions.

Create an attribute of type 'time' in context. And inputfield to this attribute.
Later, while calling BAPI, you can pass this value to Tms type field.

Hi Experts,
I'm using TIMS data type for my Time field. In ECC we will have F4 function for the same data element, but in Webdynpro screen, am not getting the F4 help.
I got some information from SCN that I need to go for some custom search help. But with which reference to the table, am I want to create it.
Please let me know, is there any other possible way to create F4 for time field for webdynpro.
Even I tried to use some standard search help, but am getting an error as 'Sending of dynpro ' ' not possible. No window system type specified'.

For time field, there is no SAP delivered search help in WDA , so we need to go for freely programmed search help.
Please refer the below link, in which Mr. Thomas, has provided the links for search help document you can follow and create new search help component
and also nugget of the component which can be imported using ZSAPLINK program.

Declare the variables as sy-datum and sy-uzeit or any other pre-defined data typ of date and ime types. Serach help will automatically comes.

Search help for Custom Item level field

Hi All,
I have two custom fields at Item level. Both of them has fixed values defined at domain. The fixed values have a short text also given with them.
The problem I am facing is when SRM provides default search help for these custom fields, for first field the 'Value' and 'Description' comes in the search result screen, but for second, only 'Value' comes in the search result.
When I try to debug, it shows the SHLPTYPE as 'SH' for first one and for the second as 'FV'.
What does this indicate?
My requirement is to display both value and description in the search result screen.
Please suggest.

Sorry for the delay. My User got locked for some time.
I have seen the document you sent me on my email id.
 I noticed in the case where the Search help is working fine, there is no space in between the contents of the Fixed values and their short text under the value range tab of the Domain element.
But in the case, where there is a problem with the search help. There both the Fixed values and their short description is having a space in between the words.
Try maintaining COND_A instead of "COND A". Also with the short description use "COND_A" instead of "COND A".
I hope this will resolve the issue.

Search help for WBS element on timesheet

Hi,
We are using EA-HR 6.00 (webdynpro)
Is it possible to change the search help for the WBS Element field that appears on the Record Working Time timesheet?
There appears to be a table called TCATS_SHLP_ITS, but is this not for the old ITS version and not the new webdynpro version?
The client would like to use a different search help when they choose the dropdown on the timesheet but I can't seem to figure out if this is possible.

I guess I'll retract my question, as making change to table TCATS_SHLP_ITS is making a difference on my WBS element dropdown... just need to get it to work properly now.

I have an ALV, there is a hyperlink for one field, which opens up another Popup for ALV as component usage.
I have one Search help for a field in this popup.
When I open this popup for first time in that session, F4 for the SH, the value is not getting populated in that field.
When I close the popup and open it again, next time the value which I select is getting populated in that field.
Don't know why this happens.
Like OVS, can we have F4 help event custom one for SH so that I can triiger it for first time.
What is the event that gets triggered upon F4 selection of SH.

Hi Experts,
I want to know how to find out the search help for that material in that tcode. Please tell me in detail how to proceed with this and where to go with the modifications or enhancement.

Hi,
you don't need any exit / badi.
Go in VA02, in material number go in technical information : F1 ; F9
You will show there is no search-help link to the field. So the search-help is taken from the data element.
Go in SE11 and show the data element MATNR.
In the thirth tab you will find the search-help link : S_MAT1.
Go in SE11 and show the search help S_MAT1 (each time you could double click instead of reopen SE11).
This is a group search, that means, it contains many search help.
Copy a simple search help, modify as you would like.
Add your own search help in the S_MAT1, and don't forget to link fields (parameters).
You don't need any object key or user-exit.
You will affect all the screen of SAP using this search-help S_MAT1.

Creating search help for a field in AdHoc Query

We have created an infoset based on LDB PCH.
(The infoset contains object type O only).
For the object-id field the users want search help when choosing this field for selection.
Using "start via selection screen" does not give a good solution.
Can anyone explain how I can create search help for fields in an infoset?

Search Help for Vendor Feild not getting populated in the Screen Element

Hi Everyone,
In transaction Miro, I get a POP-UP for Invoicing Party i.e. Vendor and Users required a custom search help.
The Search help for Vendor(LIFNR) is KRED_C and i appended a Z search help under this.
Now that the search help exists and I can drill down the values too but when i select/choose any value, that value is not getting populated in Screen feild.
is there any validation I need to do for this.
Please suggest me... I checked SDN there are many things but i couldn't figure out wat i need to do and where I need to modify.

I observerd that you have lt_stock and lt_mat2 declared in the part of the program

Hi,
when you define your field catalogue you can create data elements with search help in se11 and use them for field 1 and field 2.
But maybe it is enough to use data elements belonging to a domain with a value help and to set field F$AVAILABL in the field catalogue or to fill the name of the field CHECKTABLE.

How to get search help for 2nd parameter based on the 1st parameter value

 I have 2 parameters (material no, revision level). I have created a search help for revision level. It has an importing parameter :material no. and one exporting parameter : revision level.When I checked it, it's giving the revision values only for the specified.
In my report , I have kept these 2 materials in my selection screen.For revision level , I have added the matchcode object which I have created. When I pressed F4 for revision level, it's giving all the values irrespective of the material no. in the first parameter. How to solve it? Please suggest.

Enhancing standard (single select)search help for Multiple value selection

Hi,
Standard search help for Business Partner (in cProjects) allows only single value selection for input fields. I want to make this multiple selection.
Is there a way to do it.
I used an OVS and built a similar search but its difficult to get the standard options like saving to personal value list etc in it.
It would be good if there is a way to modify the standard search help to allow multiple selection. Any ideas??

As far as I know you can't make a standard ABAP dictionary search help return multiple entries - where you get this sort of functionality the searches don't use the standard Elementary search help framework (e.g. organisational structure searches)
Given that the WDA search help relies on these dictionary based searches, I'd think very much that you couldn't enhance it to return multiple. how you could even return multiple entries into a single UI element input field is also confusing to me.
I'd suggest creating a freely programmed value help, it would certainly take quite some effort to recreate those personal value lists etc, but it could be done - I don't like OVS, but that just me.
