Search help parameter.
Hello,
Is it possible to set more than one value to the parameter id u2018VKOu2019?
When a user searches for a partner, he uses a SearchHelp where the sales organisation is informed. At the moment, this field (sales organisation) is filled with one value using the following sentence:
set parameter id 'VKO' field 'ONG'.
The field allows to inform more than one value. How can I do it?
Thanks in advance,
Ricard
Hello Siddharth,
Tx VA02-> GOTO->HEADER->PARTNER.
Open the search help of the AG partner function.
Select u201CCustomers per sales groupu201D tab
The first field is Sales Organisation, if you inform one value immediately appears the equal icon. If you perform a double click on it, then will appear a Multiple Selection window where you can inform more sales organisations. The question is: How can I inform it programmatically?
Thanks for your help.
Ricard.

Carry matnr from line item to search help parameter??
Hi All,
Is it possible to have a line item material number carried forward into a search help parameter field automatically? So say a user has entered material 123456 in sales order line item and now wants to use the F4 help in the batch field for that line item, is there a way of having the 123456 matnr in the material number parameter on the search help when the dialog opens?
If so how is this achieved?
Many thanks.Hello Friend,
I think it is possible..if user is agree to press 'Enter' after entering material number...
so that it goes back to any event and you catch the material number in runtime...
and with that Material number change the value of global parameter of material number ( you can check in data element )
{ SPA )
after that if user press F4 in the batch field...materiial number
Hope it will solve the problem.

Search Help parameter not passing in FM
A Search Help ZAMCH1 is included in collective search help MCH1.Within it an elementary search help ZMME_CHARG2 is included. In this Elementary Search Help, a parameter 'CHRUE' ( Inventary Indicator) is there with data element 'ZMM_CHARG_IND' and default value 'X'.
But this parameter is not passed into the search help exit i.e. the function module. All other parameters are passed correctly in structure 'shlp-selopt' except CHRUE.So the indicator is always blank in FM.what might may be the reason and remedy ?Since your search help starts with the letter Z, it is a custom search help. So we can't look at the code to see what might be going on. You can try posting more specific information from the search helps here, and then someone might be able to help you.

Search Help Parameter Default - Problems with VKO and VTW in Sales Order
Hello,
we've implementend an own serchhelp for the material-search.
The fields VKORG and VTWEG have the default VKO and VTW.
If I open this searchhelp in VA03 those values are not filled, if I open it in MM03 or ME23N those values are filled.
My user has the VKO and VTW-parameters set.
We have no custom "preselect-code" implemented.
If I change the values to VKU and VTW the output is the same (works in MM03 / ME23N but not in VA03) (copied default values from MAT1S search help, didn't change my user parameters!)
What could be the problem? Our searchelp was in our own append ZA_SD_MAT1.
Solution:
We deleted this append and added our search-helps to SD_MAT1 and now everythings works in mm03, me23n and va03. -
Search Help Import Parameter as Listbox
How to make a search help parameter as Listbox( with Key ). Currently all search help parameters in F4 Dialog will be input fields with value help been fected from data element/domain.
I need the parameter as list box because only then I could populate the text along with the value.
Like there is a domain whose fixed values are 1- Active, 2 - Locked etc,
When I use a search help parameter with a data element of the above domain, then during F4, THE SEARCH HELP DIALOG has this parameter as 1. The text "Active also should appear ideally"
FYI: the parameter is an import parameter.

STEP SELONE (Select one of the elementary searchhelps)
This step is only called for collective searchhelps. It may be used
to reduce the amount of elementary searchhelps given in SHLP_TAB.
The compound searchhelp is given in SHLP.
If you do not change CALLCONTROL-STEP, the next step is the
dialog, to select one of the elementary searchhelps.
If you want to skip this dialog, you have to return the selected
elementary searchhelp in SHLP and to change CALLCONTROL-STEP to
either to 'PRESEL' or to 'SELECT'.
IF callcontrol-step = 'SELONE'.

STEP PRESEL (Enter selection conditions)
This step allows you, to influence the selection conditions either
before they are displayed or in order to skip the dialog completely.

Normaly only SHLP-SELOPT should be changed in this step.
IF callcontrol-step = 'PRESEL'.

STEP SELECT (Select values)
This step may be used to overtake the data selection completely.
To skip the standard seletion, you should return 'DISP' as following
step in CALLCONTROL-STEP.
Normally RECORD_TAB should be filled after this step.
Standard function module F4UT_RESULTS_MAP may be very helpfull in this
step.

(maxrecords = 0 defaults to maxrecords 500)
As of release 4.7, it appears that maxrecords is
being considered on the read of the view, rather
than prior to presenting the selection list.
When only 500 records are passed into this exit,
the subsequent evaluation yields very few records
in the selection list. By setting maxrecords to
8000, the entire contents of the view are passed
to this user exit, and therefor the search help
yields a reasonable selection list to the user
(as was the case in release 4.6b).

STEP DISP (Display values)
This step is called, before the selected data is displayed.
You can e.g. modify or reduce the data in RECORD_TAB
according to the users authority.
If you want to get the standard display dialog afterwards, you
should not change CALLCONTROL-STEP.
If you want to overtake the dialog on you own, you must return
the following values in CALLCONTROL-STEP:
- "RETURN" if one line was selected. The selected line must be
the only record left in RECORD_TAB. The corresponding fields of
this line are entered into the screen.
- "EXIT" if the values request should be aborted
- "PRESEL" if you want to return to the selection dialog

How to do a Search help on SAP structure field listing custom table data?
i have a SAP screen (Trans KE52) that they want to have a drop down (search help on).
The drop down should list values from a custom table.
How do you do this?
The values to be displayed are NOT from a structure table but from a transparent table. i believe I will need a search FM to do this but not sure how it is to be done.
Any one have ideas?
Thanks!
ScottHi Scott,
You need to go to SE11 and look for a searh help that match your requirment or build one.
In case you are going to develop one, in the definition tab of the search help look for the selection method and put in the input field the name of your transparent table.
After that you must specify the fields that you need to appear at the list and the one that is going to be selected for your field. This step you have to do it on the search help parameter grid.

PLS tell me how to set search for the I/O field in se80?pls tell me the process?
i want to set the search help for more I/O fields in se80 but all the fields belongs to the same table?
can i create a single search for all these fields and use that for all the I/O fields ?
elementary search help or collective search help?
thanks & regards in advance,
vsnl.Hi,
Input Help on the Screen
Within the Screen Painter, you can define two types of input help:
1. The FIELD statement with one of the additions VALUES or SELECT.
2. Linking a search help directly to a screen field.
If you link a search help directly to a screen field, it overrides the additions of the FIELD
statement. However, the input check [Page 581] functions of the FIELD statement remain
unaffected.
Input Help in Flow Logic
The following input help methods are obsolete and should not be used. They are still supported
for compatibility reasons.
In the screen flow logic, you can specify a value list for a screen field <f> as follows:
FIELD <f> VALUES (<val1>, <val2>,...).
The value list contains a series of single values <vali>. The NOT and BETWEEN additions for the
input check [Page 581] are not appropriate for input help.
You can also create a value list by accessing a database table as follows:
FIELD <f> SELECT *
FROM <dbtab>
WHERE <k1> = <f1> AND <k2> = <f2> AND...
In the WHERE condition, the fields of the primary key <ki> of the database table <dbtab> are
checked against the screen fields <fi>. The WHENEVER addition, used with input checks [Page
581], is not necessary for input help.
If you have used a ABAP Dictionary reference for field <f>, the selection and the hit list formatting
may be affected by any check table attached to the field.
Attaching a Search Help
Search helps from the ABAP Dictionary can be attached to a screen field [Ext.]. To do this, enter
the name of the search help in the corresponding field in the attributes of the screen field in the
Screen Painter. This assigns the first parameter of the search help to the screen field. It is only
possible to place a value from the hit list onto the screen.
Input help on a screen.
REPORT DEMO_DYNPRO_F4_HELP_DYNPRO MESSAGE-ID AT.
DATA: CARRIER(3) TYPE C,
CONNECTION(4) TYPE C.
CALL SCREEN 100.
MODULE CANCEL INPUT.
LEAVE PROGRAM.
ENDMODULE.
The next screen (statically defined) for screen 100 is itself. It has the following layout:
602 April 2001
Cancel
Airline
Flight number
Screen field with search help
Input help in the flow logic
The input fields have been adopted from the program fields CARRIER and
CONNECTION. The function code of the pushbutton is CANCEL, with function type
E. The search help DEMO_F4_DE with the search help parameter CARRID is
assigned to the screen field CARRIER. The search help uses the database table
SCARR.
The screen flow logic is as follows:
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
MODULE CANCEL AT EXIT-COMMAND.
FIELD CARRIER VALUES ('AA', 'LH').
FIELD CONNECTION SELECT *
FROM SPFLI
WHERE CARRID = CARRIER
AND CONNID = CONNECTION.
When the user chooses the input help for the individual fields, the following input
help is displayed:
For the Airline field, the search help displays the names of the airlines and places the airline
code in the input field for the chosen line. If the airline code is not one of those listed in the
VALUES list of the screen flow logic, the input check triggers an error message in the PAI
event. So the search help overrides the VALUES addition for the input help, but not for the
input checks. This is therefore not an appropriate place to use the VALUE addition.
For the Flight number field, the flow logic displays the selected entries from the database
table SPFLI and places the selected line in the input field.

Issue in elementary search help.
Hi,
Facing some issue on Attaching search help directly to the screen Fields.
I have a requirement that
1> Based on a screen field, I have to filter F4 for the other fields.
2> I have to populate 2 screen elements at the same time.
Like:
In my transaction i have 3 fields :
1> PA0001-WERKS : Personnel area.
2> PA0001-PERNR : Personnel number
3> PA0001-ENAME : Employee name.
All 3 have been defined as Dictionary fields on the screen.
Now PA0001-WERKS has its on search help and i use that to select the WERKS.
Then i have to create a search help that takes this as the input and gives me a hit list showing all the personnel number ( and there name) in PA0001 table based on the screen field PA0001-werks.
When i do F4 on say Pa0001-pernr field: a hit list showing all the personnel number ( and there name) in PA0001 table.
When i select a row both PA0001-pernr and PA0001-ENAME should be filled in the screen.
Solution that i tried:
I created a elementary seach help ZSEL_PER and had the PA0001 as the selection table and had the 3 fields as the parameters:
1> WERKS as input
2> PERNR and ENAME as output.
Then i attached the search help to the srceen fields :
1> PA0001-PERNR : Personnel number
2> PA0001-ENAME : Employee name.
Now ,
a> When i do F4 my data does not get restricted as per the WERKS on the screen.
b> When i select a row both the fields on the screen dont get populated, only the field on which i did F4 ( that too always with the colomn 1 only of the hit list )..
Is this possible with elementary search help and if yes then how ? what am i doing wrong...
Thanks, Ad.Hi anuj,

How to display our own selected data in a search help using a exit
Hello,
I had created a Search Help Exit to restrict the values to be displayed in the search help. This code was written under the event 'DISP' in the exit. But it is not giving the desired result. So I want to replace the RECORD_TAB of the exit with my own selected data. For this I had written code for selection under the event 'SELECT'. But when I try to overwrite RECORD_TAB with this, this create errors.
What should I do to overwrite the values of the RECORD_TAB field with my own values?

Search help for custome field with different data type
Hi Friends,
I have Created a custom table in which i have created a field is
ZMATLONG which stores material number.
Now the data element is zdmat which is of char 40..
Now i want to give search help for this field ZMATLONG..
I have tried many ways giving search help to this field
a) i Tried to attach the standard search help of MATNR ie : MAT1 but its showing me data type inconsistancy
b) i created a zsearch help and in the selection method i have used database table mara , again here iam getting the same error data type inconsistancy...
Now how can i give the search help like matnr field to my custom field ZMATLONG...
How can i do it..?
Thanks in Advance..
Regards
KumarHi,
MATNR ahs length 18 and ZMATLONG has length 40.So due to this u cannot use MAT1 search help.
best way would be cope MAT1 into Z search help. Then in the search help parameter change the data element of field
MATNR as ZMATLONG.
Now if you assign Z search help to ZMATLONG it will work.
I tried this its working fine.

Hi All,
I have created a custom check table which also has a text tables assigned to it. I have created a Elementary Search help for the check table and the selection method for the search help is the check table itself.
The issue is when I goto the check table using SE11, I click on Extras --> Search Help for Table, it does not display the search help that I had created however the search help is displayed for a similar customizing table created by SAP, TVK8.
I think I need to assign the search help to the custom table that I have created. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can tell me as to how I can assign the search help to the check table.
Thanks,

Also check the steps to create search help.
This is how u can create "Search Help" for the fields of the ztables that u have created.
SE11- Create Search Help for 1 field, "Selection Method" box put the Table name to which the field belongs to. "Dialog Type" box write: "Display Value Immediately".
Search Help Parameter is the Field name for which u want the Help. Tick Imp & Exp options and assign LPOS = 1 and Enter. , save and Activate.
SE11- Go to the table , Click on the Field that needs to be assigned a search Help....Click at the left side of the Field so that all the corresponding data Elements, Key field etc also gets selected.
Click on the "Search Help tab" just above the "Data Type " column.
Put the "Search Help" name that u just created. Mention the Field and Enter. it takes up the required values. Now Copy.
U can repeat the process for whatever fields u want to assign a Search Help.
se51- Go to Screen Painter, Select Fields from Dictionary table to which u want search help to be assigned.
Double click on the Text box of the corresponding field,......> Screen Painter Attributes.......> Search help Text box.........> Enter the name of the Search help that u created for a field.
Ok....>Save.........> Activate
Now u should be able to get the Search help for the fields that u wanted to.
