Search in device manager for driver updated on a certain date.

How do I search for a driver I updated on 06/13/2014 so I can roll it back ? I can't remember which one it is. I was trying to download a game. The update slowed my machine way down and the print is much smaller.

Hi,
I’m sorry to tell you that you can’t find the driver in Device Manager by the way you said.
You can open Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Update
and click View Update History, then find the update according to
Date Installed.
Also you can start computer and typing F8, then click
Repair Your Computer to perform System Restore to fix this issue.

  • Sound not working after checking for driver updates and resetting bios

I am running a  (HP Pavilion dv7-6c60us Entertainment Notebook PC)
I had muted the sound and did a system upgrad prompted by my HP assistant after logging on.   Now when I try to get sound nothing happens.  So I went out to the support site and checked for driver updates and none were found.  So I then went into my system bios and reset it as stated in a support for sound not working and still no sound.   HOW DO I GET MY SOUND TO WORK AGAIN?

From your models support page Download & Save the latest Audio driver.Go into Control Panel,Programs & Features- Uninstall IDT software.Restart the laptop. After Windows loads, install IDT audio using the downloaded file.

  • Device Manager reported driver missing for Officejet 7310 printer

I used the full-feature install software downloaded from HP site to setup an Officejet 7310 printer on a Lenovo T540p laptop with Windows 8.1 64-bit OS.  The install and the printer appear to work correctly as I can print and I can also scan from the HP Solution Center utility.  However, the Device Manager reports two errors/anomolies as follows.
Under the "Multifunction adapters" entry the Officejet 7300 series Properties shows the Device Status as:
This device is disabled. (Code 22)
Click Enable Device to enable this device.
Under the "Other devices" entry theOfficejet 7300 series Properties shows the Device Status as:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I find this a bit baffling as I believe the install software is supposed to include the driver(s), plus the printer seems to function (which could be due to default Microsoft drivers).
Any thoughts on how things got in this state and how to recover would be deeply appreciated as I prefer to not "ignore" the error messages.
    Thanks,
    Glenn

Yes I was able to remove the USB instance and rename the network-connected printer instance as the sole printer.  I thought that should work, but I was a bit paranoid given the other weird things that happened with the package install.
I'm good to go; thanks again.

  • HP Device manager for C6100 series on macbook freezes after 1.1.1 update

Okay, I had this same issue on my Powerbook after the hp 1.1.1 update for my C6100 Photosmart printer/scanner and I Googled the answer but didn't save it - I now have the same issue on my MacBook Pro. When I try to scan via the HP Device Manager I get an error "the program may be unstable, it is recommended that the program be closed and restarted"
I know the resolution is to remove the 1.1.1 update but I can't remember how the heck to do this... anyone? Help! I know it's super easy and I'm stuck.
    Thanks all!

That doesn't work. I ended up just using the uninstaller and removing the entire thing and then by the CD I reinstalled it again so it doesn't have the update 1.1.1. Of course it asks if I want to update when the updater runs I deselect it. Now I remember there is a simple way to make it skip this update every time too so I don't inadvertently install it again but I don't remember that simple task either.

  • Searched for driver updates - do I need them all? Qosmio G30-175

Hello people, new Toshiba user here.
Last week I bought a Qosmio G30-175. After a Bluetooth installation problem everything is fine.
I updated BIOS today to v1.70 (even though the Windows version wouldn't work)!
I thought I would do a search for any driver updates and I find that 86 updates appear!!!
Could somebody tell me whether all these updates are merely available for use, or does my particular laptop require all these updates?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    What?? 86 drivers??
Are you sure? I have checked the Toshiba driver page of Qosmio G30-175 (PQG30E) and found only 50 drivers for Windows XP MCE.
But the list of 50 drivers contains double entries! For example there are 2 BIOS, 2 LAN drivers, different modem drivers, etc listed.
You should install only the drivers and utilities which are listening in the Installation instruction document. This guide line is important and you should follow this guide line if you install the Toshiba drivers manually.
You will find the document also in the driver section

  • [t431s] Code 28 in Device Manager for all external storage.

I'm using Windows 8.1 on a t431s. I'm having this problem where none of my external storage is being recognized. Under "Device Manager" any sort of external storage I plug in ends up under "Other devices". When I click on the device, I get Code 28 "The drivers for this device are not installed." Trying to update the driver brings me nowhere. The devices don't appear under disk management.
What's weird is that other USB peripherals such as mice and USB headphones don't have any problem.
Here's what I've tried so far:
    Updated the BIOS.
Used Lenovo's SCCM package for Windows 8.1
Tried installing the individual drivers for each hard drive.
Nothing works! What's going on here?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi, Buggy
After doing a bit of research. It seems your not the only one with this issue. WD has had this issue with even Windows 7 since 2012 with other Passport models.
I honestly recommend seeking support with WD about this issue if you have not done so already as the ones who where able to fix this issue did so with updated drivers from WD.

  • Unknown Device in Device Manager for Lenovo G780 laptop, Windows 7

Hails all.  I am trying to figure out what the Unknown Device is under Other Devices in my Device Manager.  I recently got rid of Windows 8 and put Windows 7 64-bit on my Lenovo G780 laptop.  I installed almost everything from the Lenovo site --- all of the drivers and such, software, etc.  I cannot figure out what this device may be.  The only external device connected to the laptop is a Kensington usb mouse.  Any ideas?
I did run the PCI test program and the Motherboard test program that Lenovo provides and it didn't find any errors.  Windows Update hasn't found update/driver/software for the Unknown Device.  The Lenovo Solutions software only tells me to open Device Manager.

    Welcome to the forum!
Since Windows Update didn't pick up any missing drivers, I'm guessing you are missing a driver for a device that would be propriatary to Lenovo.  During the installation of Windows 7, did you install the One Key Recovery software ?  If not, the One Key Recovery button maybe triggering that exclamation mark in Device Manager since there is no driver to tell Windows what to do with that button.
If that wasn't the problem you can try running Unknown Device Indentifier to see if that utility can indentify the unknown device.  The free program can be found at the link below........

  • Fatal Error with Java ME Device Manager and SDK Updates

I recently installed the Java ME 3 EA SDK Platform which looks promising. Everything seem to work fine. In the process of new updates and the desire to remove some older versions of Java, I installed a new Java versions (1.6.0_11) and removed some old ones (1.6_0_04 and 1.6_0_10).

When I say No, it appears to not start at all. When I say Yes, it appears to try to start but I continually get errors as listed above for the Java ME Device Manager startup error.
After reinstalling the _10 version, things started to work again, so I suspect this is due to my removal of the an older version of the JDK.
How is the proper way to "update" without causing similar errors? Are the environment variable JAVA_HOME, JAVA2_HOME, or some other variable used to specify the JDK/JRE in use? I would rather not be forced to change my startup each time to specify a -jdkhome related parameter.
Should I install the new version, find install the "Java Platform" in the SDK/Netbeans, set it as
    Also...
How do you set the default version from within the SDK/Netbeans?
And is there a way to prevent the Device Manager from starting?

  • Device manager for E 63 ???/

what is the concept of the Device manager ? how it is useful to theuser. how to configure? plz reply soon

Hi there, I see you have asked several questions regarding your E63. Have you considered to read the User Manual that you received with your phone?? Or if you have lost or misplaced it, download the PDF version from your regional Nokia website (in this case, Nokia India). It would save you a lot of time and hassle to read the manual.
To answer your question quickly, Device Manager is where the current firmware version of your phone is displayed, and where you can check online for firmware updates (if your device supports Firmware Over The Air, as E63 is FP1 phone I am not sure that it does). You usually do not need to configure the settings as the settings to connect to Nokia servers are usually pre-installed.

  • Mds95xx device manager for os 5.2.8a and above

    Hi
I am looking into Cisco site for Device manager download for os 5.2.8a or above.
    Someone can help me?
    Many thx
    Walter

    Hi Walter,
There are two ways to get Device Manager.
(1)Install DCNM and DM will also be installed.
(2)Point your browser at the IP address of the switch and download it from there.  Then run the  "jxpiinstall.exe" file to install DM.  However, to install it from here, you must have Java 1.5 and 1.6 or you will just get a "Certificate Revoked" message.
    Best regards,

  • Device manager for 6500

I just transferred a 6500 officejet from a Mac laptop to my Windows XL pc.
I noticed that on the laptop there was a HP Device manager at the bottom of the desktop area, but there is not one on the pc, either in the system tray or HP folder.
Since the installation disc was not available, I downloaded the needed software from HP's website.
How do I get the Device manager onto my pc?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The HP Device Manager is the software for Macintosh computers only.
From the Start menu select Programs > HP > HP Officejet 6500 and open the HP Solution Center program, that is the one available on a Windows PC for your printer.

  • My ipad stays in searching mode when looking for software update and doesn't give results

When I try to look for updates it is just searching and I even left it fir hole day and remained in search mode.

Had the same problem. Called Apple support. They claimed it could be a network problem since I did the download over wifi. They told me to try again using Itunes. When that didn't work, they said it was a corrupted itunes and I reinstalled it. During the reinstall, I tried it on another computer and it still did not work. After reinstalling itunes, I still got the corrupt message. Apple told me to go to my local Apple store and try their network. I was told that would do the trick. Guess what? It did not restore on the Apple network and the "Genius" tech person said that this error was similar to the windows "blue screen of death" and they could not repair it. Since the Ipad 2 was out of warranty, they offered me a replacement for $249 (no thanks) and said it was just one of those things. If anybody finds a fix, please let me know. I guess the lesson learned is NEVER download a new update the first day.
