Search iPhone feature is not working
I have an iPhone 4 (Not a 4s) and I have recently upgraded to 5.0 and the subsequent 5.01 patch that was released. I noticed this problem before the 5.0 update as wel. The Search iPhone function on the iphone does not work. I can put in last names, first names, first name and last name and hit search and it does not find anything. Just sits there doing nothing, does not find address book entries nor email messages with that text, etc. So I have to use Contacts to find contacts but now I lose the ability to find people who have sent me email recently to find their contact information in their signature of their email, etc. I was trying to just review the community here to see if anyone had experienced this same problem but it made me go thru the wizard to open a new discussion? Anyway, if anyone has any suggestion please let me know.

Since I installed the new operating System, my search feature does not work. I can only search my ipad. None of the search engines work in Safari. How do I fix it?
Just just to make sure, you do not see something like this when you try to do a search in Safari?
Try clearing Safari in Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and data. Then close Safari. Double tap the home button and drag the mini Safari window up toward the top of the screen in the multitasking display in order to close the app. Now reboot the iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple Logo appears on the screen.
Try Safari again.
The Spotlight Search feature on the iPad search) no longer searches the web, that is simply the way that Spotlight works now. Sort of a backwards move IMO but somewhat typical of Apple these days. -
the wifi turn-on/off feature does not work on my iphone... it's stuck on off and won't turn on. Does anybody know how to fix it?

HT6337 HandOff feature does NOT work
HandOff feature does NOT work on my iPhone6 and iPad Air.
I have the latest updates (iOS 8.1) installed and my MBP is on Yosemite 10.10...
I have my iPad Air, iPhone6, and MBP on the same network.
And, I have bluetooth enabled.
Yet, I don't see the handOff icon appear on any of my mobile devices...
Am I missing something??

To get Handoff working between your devices, please take a look at the article below for settings needed to be configured on your devices.
Check your settings
Check the following settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi if necessary.
Make sure your iOS devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network by going to Settings > Wi-Fi and comparing the name of the network each is on.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth if necessary.
Go to Settings > General > Handoff & Suggested Apps and make sure Handoff is on.
Go to Settings > Phone. If you seeWi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
Check the following settings on your Mac:
Go to the Wi-Fi icon at the top of your screen and turn on Wi-Fi if necessary.
Make sure your Mac and iOS devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iOS device and compare the name of the network with the Wi-Fi network on your Mac.
Go to the Bluetooth icon at the top of your screen and turn on Bluetooth if necessary.
In System Preferences > General, select “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.” If you don't see this setting, your Mac may not support Handoff.
Open the FaceTime app, go to FaceTime > Preferences and turn on “iPhone Cellular Calls.”
Go to System Preferences, and sign out and then sign in again to your iCloud account.

Look Up feature is not working properly.
Look Up feature will not work if another word is selected inside the Look Up display of the first word. The only solution was to the problem is to click on the word "Dictionary" (so that you will be using the Dictionary application instead) and then you will be able to look up for the second word that was originally displayed in the Look Up display.
It's really annoying this extra step just to look up for a word. That problem did not happen before installation OS X Yosemite update. I hope they fix that problemIf you don't get an answer here, you might want to search/ask in the Chinese Mac list:

Have you lost the iPhone, or are you just testing this feature?
If the device is offline it will not be able to recieve the remote lock request.
There is not much you can do if this is the case. -
Search and Address bar not working.
Hello, I have this problem were whenever I try to type in something into the search or addresys bars, nothing happens. It's like the enter key isn't working. There is not usual picture next to the search bar (the one that shows you what search engine you're using. If it's google it shows a "g" next to the bar). Instead there is just a picture of a blank page as a placeholder. When I try to go in and add a new search engine by managing the search engine list, there is no option to add a new search engine. I have already tried going into the firefox folder on my computer and deleted the formhistory.sqlite file that is the supposed problem. No avail. I have even gone so far to delete and reinstall firefox to my computer. Well, that didn't work either. So I waited until the next update to see if my problem would be fixed THEN. I am currently on firefox 19.0, which is, as of writing, the most current version. I have tried restarting firefox with all addons removed. And for good measure, I deleted anything that ended with ".sqlite" in my firefox folder. I have tried to get the the about:config menu but do not know how considering how my address bar refuses to search. The greatest thing is that my address bar can still remember all the sites I've typed into it before, but for some unknown reason, cannot take me to any of them! I really don't know what to do next. I can only suppose that I could try completely deleting everything firefox has stored on my computer, as I don't know if just uninstalling the program actually did that. Other then my search bar problem, firefox has been acting fairly normally besides a few minor hiccups here and there. I am trying to remember if I downloaded anything before my search bar problems started or not, but it is always a possibility. I did download the firefox beta for windows 8 metro mode but I can't remember if that was before or after firefox started acting up. It's possible considering that softonic thought they were being really nice by including fbdownloader for free with my firefox metro browser. I am now no longer using softonic ever again. But that's all the evidence I can think up right off the tip of my head. Sorry if this was kinda long, and if any of my description isn't clear or make sense please ask and I can try to verify. Also, if I haven't said this already, my search bar is only not working in firefox. Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Safari are all working fine. Just my luck, I guess. If anyone could help me out, I'd be much obliged. Not being able to use the address bar has been really inefficient. Thank you.

1. Enter about:config in the Firefox location bar and press Enter.
You should see a warning that making changes to the Firefox configuration can be potentially harmful to Firefox's integrity. Click the I'll be careful, I promise button to continue.
2 In the Search box at the top, enter keyword as the search term. You should see a few remaining items, one of these is keyword.URL. It should be bold.
3 Right-click on the keyword.URL setting and select MODIFY from the dropdown menu.

The other possible things you can try would include...
Inserting the lightning connector and applying a little bit of pressure up under the Home button.
Some folks have cleaned the Home button with a few drops of isopropic alochol caring to not get it on your screen. This is only going to get things working again if it has been gummed up through normal use
If you are still within the one-year warranty or extended it with Apple Care don't try any of these steps just take it to Apple. -
