Search iTunes store is very slow

Has anyone seen serious delays when searching the iTunes store? Say for example the status bar quickly gets up to about 80% then hangs for 5-10 seconds before completing the search?

For over a week now I am experiencing the same thing. The iTunes Store is SO SLOW to load page to page. Specifically, it sometimes takes several MINUTES, not seconds, for pages to load. I have tried at various times of day (thinking it was traffic volume), but still no luck. I am on a high speed broadband connection, and everything else is fast. What is going on with the iTunes Store?

  • ITunes store going VERY slow...

The store used to be fine up until a couple of weeks ago. Everytime I click on the store, it takes about 5 mintues to actually access it and then the same time to get results when searching for a song or whatever. When I finally download a song, it downloads at a normal speed, but I don't know why the store is so slow right now. Anyone deal with this before or know a possible cause?
    Thanks

Is there something in common between our accounts. It appears we are/were getting routed to a different server than most perhaps.
    1. I'm a iPhone Developer.
    2. My apple id is [email protected]
    3. My account predates the itunes store.
    Ideas?

  • ITunes Store works very slow or does not connect with my account.

When I use my account to sign into the iTunes store, the store either (1) Operates very very slowly or (2) Ignores my request or (3) Reports an unknown connection error. This happens on ANY Mac computer (Windows not tested). Problem moves with the account to other machines. Other accounts work fast and fine. Store works rapidly when signed out. Logging into an Apple website with my id works fine. Tried managing my id. Nothing changed. Started experiencing problems today (December 25, 2011) when trying to purchase iTunes Certs. for Christmas gifts. I have one of those old mac.com Apple IDs. Very odd. Ideas?

  • ITunes Store downloads very slow -- are there any hints to resolve this?

it is indeed puzzling. I have had the same problems. I sincerely hope Apple gets on this problem. I have Time Warner cable and they have been about as helpful as... well, not so helpful. They have proved to me that the internet connection is fine, but just the avenue to the store has problems. Some have said it is the 3rd party company called Level3 that is where the connection slows. This has been for the last week. Do a traceroute or ping the apple store and see if your connection troubles begin at Level3. I can't quite recall what the apple store address is, but I believe it is written in the thread which mentions TIme Warner in its heading.
Oh, by the way, a file that was taking 3 hours to download around 11 pm last night is now only taking 10 minutes. Try to do your downloading during periods of low internet traffic.
    Good luck!

  • The scrolling feature in the itunes store is very slow.  How can I fix that?

I get the rotating "beachball of death" every time I scroll through the album covers.

Click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. If you're willing to use a tool to remove it(you don't need to, but may find it easier), you can instead run Adware Medic; this link is a direct download.

  • App store loading VERY slow or not at all

Hello.. I hope someone here can help me. Since i upgraded to ios 4 i have been having problems with the app store. It either takes 5 to 15 mins to load then another 5 to 15 mins to update or download an app or it doesn't load at all and kicks me back out to the main screen. seems to be only happening with app store. I have updated to the newest ios, done the soft reset, restored it in iTunes, changed my dns server and just about everything else i can think of as well as everything i have found on the internet. Any1 else having this problem or heard of it ? Or any1 know how i can fix it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I was using iOS 4.1 on my iP4 since last Oct., apart from the sporatic wifi connectivity issue, all was well.  The wifi issue kept persisting and nothing I did fixed it (did all the standard troubleshooting...again).  Apple Care said I had to update to (at the time) 4.3.3 before they could help me.  So I did, didn't help any, but I also noticed how certain things I did was lagging. ie. flipping through the screens, launching and quitting of apps, and yes, accessing the App Store.  Everything was taking about 3-4 second longer.  .  Apple Genius noticed the connection issue as well as the lags, so gave me a new iPhone 4 with 4.3.3.  Lags are still there, and App Store is very slow.
As the OP mentioned, it would take forever to just load up pages, when you go to update your apps, you hit Update All, it looks like your phone just froze on you.  You can't do anything but hit the home key and go out of the App, and try again, but you still run into the same issue.  But if you leave it for about 30-40 sec, it will eventually continue.  Or boot you out of the App Store and you have to start all over again.  Been like this since June, everytime I go to the App Store.  Could be first thing in the morning to 3am, makes no difference what time you go on, it always lags.  Does it both on wifi and 3G.  Note though, accessing the internet on the iPhone isn't laggy.  I would have thought about updating to 4.3.5, but heard that didn't resolve anything.  And since iOS 5 is around the corner as with the iPhone 5, I'm just grinning and bearing.  As what a lot of iPhone users have been doing as of late.  I really do hope that the transition to iOS 5 goes much, much smoother than it did for iOS 4.

  • ITunes sync is very slow?

iTunes sync is very slow with several minutes of the spinning color dot.  Usually happens during the last step (7) of the sync.  I then discover that even though I marked to sync all photos from Aperture file, photos are not synced.  iTunes seems to be getting more and more of a problem.  Any thoughts?

  • ITunes store is extremely slow. Downloads and browsing the store is slow.

Prior to iTunes 7, I had no problems with iTunes whatsoever. Now, just like many other users, the iTunes store is unbelievably slow.
When I start up iTunes and select the iTunes store, it takes about 20 seconds to load up the store. If I try to preview a song, it instantly gives me the message "Network Stalled, Rebuffering Stream".
When I try and download anything, it is painfully slow. It takes about 15-20 minutes to download one song and movies and TV shows are impossible since they will eventually time out.
I even tried setting my router up using the OpenDNS addresses and iTunes is still slow. I contacted my ISP and they informed me that they are not blocking any ports associated w/ iTunes. Like I said, I had no problems with iTunes prior to iTunes 7.
This affects both my PC and my laptop. If I plug them directly into the internet without a router it's still the same issue. However, if I take my laptop over to a friend's house who has a different ISP it's completely fine and downloads fast again.
I've spoken with tech support for my ISP and they tell me there is nothing they can do, and to "hope that iTunes 8 comes out soon"
So, is there anything I can do on my side, other than the OpenDNS option since it doesn't work? I'm extremely angry at this situation and don't know why iTunes 7 changed something to where it conflicts with so many people's ISP.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • ITunes Store is extremely slow

Accessing the iTunes Store is extremely slow. Even after emptying the cache, accessing the store or downloading content is slow. Songs that usually take a matter of minutes to download show an estimated completion of 10 to 12 hours.
Is anyone noticing similar behavior? Any tips or ideas on a fix?
    Thanks.

Did you use your latest backup to restore our information after you restored it "as new iphone"? If yes, try to set it up "as new iphone" without using the backup after that. Your backup may contain corrupt files causing your problem.
Set up as new device: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3828
Restore and set up as new
Launch iTunes and connect your device.
Select the device in the source list.
In the Summary tab, click the Restore button.
Wait until iTunes has completed the restore process. If you encounter any restore errors, please see Update and restore alert messages on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
When iTunes provides the Set Up Your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch screen, choose Set Up As New.Setting up your device as new will overwrite the current backup.

  • App store seems very slow

App store seems very slow on my MacBook Pro.  If I turn off Keychain->Preferences->Certificates->CRL then it runs normally, but leaving this off might be a bad idea for security reasons.  Is there a better solution?

If you have any third (application enhancers) apps such as Little Snitch or anti virus software installed, that could be why the App Store runs slow for you.

  • ITunes store is super slow!

I've noticed lately that iTunes store is super slow!
It's not only slow on my Mac or at home, it is slow even when I use it with my iPhone outside..
So, it's not a network thing, or a device thing..
    Any ideas?

It might be your computer.  Do you have the same problem when you shop for music at Amazon MP3?
