Search or Smart Collection based on Camera Calibration profile?

Is there a way to do this?

Well, DevMeta is the slowest for doing initial metadata aquisition, but then is the fastest to use, since it harnesses Lightroom's native lib filter & smart collection mechanisms. It keeps develop metadata up to date in the background, ready for lib filters and smart collections.
AnyFilter aquires metadata on demand, but does it fairly quickly, so if you only use develop metadata on special occasions, and don't care if access is via native lib filtering or smart collections, it may be preferrable to DevMeta.
Jeffrey Friedl makes some of the most polished plugins of any author I know, but I'm not very familiar with Data Explorer - I'm sure it's great..
Doesn't take long to try 'em out though .

Missing camera calibration profiles (Nikon P7700)

Until recently I've been able to apply a choice of camera calibration profiles (e.g. Camera Landscape, Camera Portrait etc.) in the Develop Module to images taken with my Nikon Coolpix P7700. However, these have now vanished, and I'm only left with the option of Adobe Standard. When I view photos that I previously applied the missing presets to, I see the old preset (e.g. Camera Landscape) briefly in the Camera Calibration Profile setting in the Develop Module, but then it changes to Adobe Standard.
I think what caused this change was an upgrade to OS X 10.5.8. I haven't changed LR recently, and have been using LR 4.4. It's currently using Camera Raw 7.4; I haven't updated Camera Raw separately, although it may have been updated by OS X? I've tried upgrading to LR5.2 to see if this will fix the problem, but it doesn't.
There are no profiles for the P7700 in Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Camera/ in either ~/Library/ or /Macintosh HD/Library/.
This is very weird and annoying behaviour: LR is changing the camera calibration profiles of all my images, but without warning me!
Does anyone know how I can reinstall these profiles? I've searched extensively for an answer to this, but with no luck.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Apologies: I did mean upgrading the OS to 10.8.5, not 10.5.8! I wasn't sure whether ACR was affected by OS X upgrades. And I am viewing RAW files.
If LR has ACR built in, do you know whether it uses the files at Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Camera/ or does it get the profiles from elsewhere? Something's changed the profiles LR reads on my computer, but if it's not OS X, and since it wasn't an LR upgrade that triggered the change, then I'm stumped as to what's caused this!
If LR does use profiles at the directory above, then presumably installing new profiles there (in ~/Library/) will override the built-in ACR files?

Camera Calibration Profiles

Does anyone know of a plug in for Aperature to calibrate the colour profile of a camera? I have seen a process used in Lightroom with an xrite ColorPassport and software to create a colour profile to apply across a set of images to correct to a calibrated image set. Looking for an equivalent process in Aperature.

What the OP is referring to, in Lightroom/ACR you have the ability to apply several canned camera calibration profiles, as well as any user created profiles. Using these profiles can fine-tune color rendition before any other adjustments are applied ... in other words it eliminates the need for processing presets for a more user preferred starting point which allows all sliders to remain at their default points ... as a bonus, profiles can be created to match color across multiple camera bodies including different models ... and even different brands ... once created they can be applied as default upon import based upon camera serial number and/or ISO as desired ...
While I much prefer Aperture ... I do find the ability to create a color rendition starting point of my own choosing quite a nice feature ... if Aperture is to be considered a "professional" app ... Apple should strongly consider adding the feature in the next iteration ... whenever that will be ...

Missing Camera Calibration Profiles in Lightroom Creative Cloud

I am missing the ADOBE SUPPLIED Nikon D700 and Olympus OM-D E-M5 camera calibration profiles in Lightroom. They were there until I had to reload the apps from CC. I looked in the forums already and haven't found any answer. I have tried to get support from Adobe through Chat and the person there had no clue what I was asking.
I found this answer on a similar question but it does not explain why the Adobe-supplied profiles are missing. To be clear, I am not talking about custom profiles.

There is no uninstaller. Just drag the app to the trash and reinstall it from the CC app. That should fix your issue. If you want to know, on Mac OS X and starting with LR 4, the profiles are installed in the app wrapper inside the Applications folder for some reason so they are hard to find. you control click on the app, select "Show package contents" and navigate to Resources > Camera Profiles

Can't get any camera calibration profiles to show up

I am using lightroom 5 on a windows 8 pc and can not get any camera calibration profiles to show up. I have 14 profiles for my Sony SLT-A65 in my cameraprofiles folder and a corresponding camera folder with also has these profiles. I have checked all file attributes and the only thing I see differrent from some other camera profiles is the file ownership is adminisrator instead of system. Also Photoshop does not see any camera calibration profiles either. I have done a lightroom installation repair from original disk which didn't fix. I have all my lens profiles which work fine. I have tried renaming profiles from SLT-A65V to SLT-A65 to match what shows up on displayed file information. Can't think of anything else. Can anyone help??

I have since corrected this issue. I downloaded adobe DNG profile editor and loaded the camera profiles I had and then saved them. At this point all of them showed up in Photoshop and Lightroom. Don't know what the difference was but they are seen now by my programs.

Color artifacts with A7s and A6000 files using Camera calibration profiles

I'm seeing some really obvious chroma artifacts / false colors with RAW files from either a Sony A7s or A6000 when using any of the Adobe-provided Camera calibration profiles that emulate Sony's rendering.
This seems to happen at any ISO, and is very frequent.
If I use the Adobe Standard calibration profile then things look normal, but that's might just be because it produces rather desaturated images compared to the "sony" profiles.
Prior to those Sony cameras I was using Nikon DSLRs for which I had somewhat similar issues when using the first version of the Nikon camera profiles.
Those issues got fixed when Adobe released the "v4" camera profiles.
Below are some examples without any adjustment, the only difference is the choice of camera calibration profile:

The legacy ACR X.x profiles are no more produced nor included for newer cameras (AFAIK, since ACR 5.1/LR 2.1). The Adobe Standard is the new default starting point for these.
While I am at it....are the Canon camera profiles I downloaded for the 1Ds MKII the same as for the 5D MKII or do I have to download different one...I suspect they are the same or Lightroom wouldn't offer them to me...is that correct?
The profiles are different for each camera model, even if they share the same name in the Calibration panel. If you can see them when developing 5DII files, it means the camera-specific profiles are installed for your particular camera model (otherwise, you wouldn't see them).

Where do I put Camera Calibration Profiles?

Running LR 4.2 64-bit on Windows 7 64-bit. I"m shooting with a Nikon D300.
When I look at an image, in Develop, I have a set of choices for "profiles". These include Embedded, ACR4.3, ACR 4.4, Adobe Standard, Camera D2X mode 1,2,3, Camera Landscape, Camera Standard,
Camera Vivid, and so on..............
Before I go wasting everyone's time with questions about additional profiles, is there any advantage to downloading D300 profiles from the Internet? Are they different/better than the standard ones I've listed above?
Presumig I SHOULD get additional profiles, I downloaded (among others) Matt K's "matts_nikon_profiles.zip", profiles. When expanded, these become a set of .lrtemplate files. Are these camera calibration profiles or something else? In the "Adobe Standard" folder, the files are all .dcp extension.
Anyhow, at this point I'm not even sure I've got what I'm supposed to have, so can y'all recommend a source for additional profiles (again, if there's any advantage to having them), AND tell me EXACTLY where to put the files? So far, in my rummaging, I've found references to putting them in
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2\Resources\CameraProfiles
and so far, nothing seems to get seen when I put them in either place...

Everyone has an app-data folder.
The camera profiles folder in resources directory of program files is for built-in profiles only - do not store custom profiles there, otherwise next time Lr is installed, they'll all go "poof".

Camera Calibration profiles for Leica M 240

Hi Forum
I'm using LR to process DNG files from Leica M 240.
I understand LR has some extra profiles ( "Camera Faithful, Camera Portrait, etc" ) for some Canon and Nikon camera models.
As under "Camera Calibration -> Profile" I can only see "Embedded" or "Adobe Standard", does it mean these extra profiles don't exist for Leica M 240 ?

Embedded is what you will always see on JPEG images. Adobe standard is the one you will see on your raw images. If you want additional profiles you will have to download the DNG profile creator and make your own. If Adobe standard is all you have then that is all Adobe is providing for your camera.

Camera Calibration Profiles - Help...?

I downloaded LR 2.0, then downloaded the beta camera profiles and the DNG Profile Editor. I ran the installers, then started LR. But the only Camera Calibration Profile available is "Embedded".
What am I missing here.....

They only work on raw files, not developed images.

I have some custom camera calibration profiles for my camera installed in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Camera/Camera-name
Everything works fine in LR 4.0-4.2 but this profiles missing in 4.3 and above. Placing profiles into LR.app/Contents/*/*/* didnt help too.
So what is wrong with LR?

As a test, if you copy one of the missing profiles to the other location does it then show up?

Camera calibration profile. i dont get the option to chose landscape

Bought myself a Fujifilm Xs1 and like with my Canon i prefer to take shots in RAW.
Now the thing is in editing in lightroom i am not get the landscape option in camera calibration >profile just Adobe Standard as if i took the shot in jpeg
any ideas ?

I think it may be worth the try to install the trial of LR 5.4 and see if the profiles become available for use with LR 4.4
Just a thought out of the box not sure if it will work.
Lightroom does not provide additional profiles for all cameras they support, most of the camera models supported only have their own "Adobe Standard" profile.

Camera Calibration Profile for Leica D-Lux Typ 109

I have Lightroom 5.7 with Camera Raw 8.7, both supposedly the latest versions, and yet I do not see any choices other than Adobe Standard under the Camera Calibration Profile menu. I have the newly supported Leica D-Lux Typ 109, and was expecting to see some camera specific choices in the Profile menu. Am I mistaken?

Most cameras only have an Adobe Standard profile:
492 camera models have Adobe Standard profile.
166 camera models have profiles in addition to Adobe Standard, mostly Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Sony.
The only Leica model that has more than an Adobe Standard profile is the M8.

How to remove a camera calibration profile in LR5

Hi, I normally generate a new camera calibration profile by x-rite everythime I change the light settings. This gives rise to a lot of camera calibration profiles in LR5. How to erase them after use?

ssprengel answered the question but FWIW, you don’t have to generate a new camera calibration profile everytime the lighting changes, depending on the illuminant. The video below shows why (and when) you need to build new profiles.

Lightroom 4.3 doesn't show my Camera Calibration Profile.

I have Lightroom 4.3 and a Canon 6D. I cannot get Lightroom to display my Camera Calibration Profile when I am developing a raw file.
I have dug through the MAC Library and Application Support folder and found CameraRaw. That folder contains my listed cameras. But when I am in Lightroom, I do not see that profile in the Camera Calibration section.
Is there a way to force Lightroom to display my camera profile? Lightroom 2 used to display it.

If the screen shot you posted is what you see in the Lightroom Camera Calibration panel, then they are the profiles that are specific to your camera model.
Thats just the way they are named. You will not see profiles that are specific to other cameras.

Question regarding stacks, searches and smart collections

Apologies if this is considered a 'basic' question - but I hope that someone can help me.
I'm currently in the process of upgrading/migrating a reasonably large Photoshop Elements 6 catalog where I've made extensive use of hierarchical folder structures, keywords and star ratings to quickly locate photos using a range a different techniques.I've successfully upgrade/migrated the Photoshope Elements catalog into Lightroom 3 and as part of the verification that everything has come across OK - I've done some comparisons of catalog searches in Elements and Lightroom and seem to be getting some strange results which I'm not sure if this is simply how things work or if I'm doing something wrong. I think part of the issue is caused by the fact that Elements always does destructive edits - so I never edited original photos in Elements so made extensive use of copied photos and stacks - but this didn't seem to cause any issues as Elements seem to keep things straight.
In Elements, the result of a query or Smart Collection might return 18 stacks of photos (with most of the stacks containing multiple photos) - but for most purposes Elements simply treated this as 18 seperate photos and simply ignored all of the photos under the top of the stacks.
Now in Lightroom I get different results depending on how the photos are identified. If I use either a keyword or rating search using the 'Right Hand' panel - I get a photo count returned which is always much higher than 18 but Lightroom seems to retain the stacks so only displays 18 different stacks, However, if I put the same search criteria into a Lightroom Smart Collection - it retrives and displays ALL of the photos in the 18 stacks (so it displays 2-3 times more photos) and I can't seem to find a way to get the Smart Collection to honour these stacks. I know that I could probably alter each of my photo stacks and change the rating or keyword of all of the photos under the top of the stack - but trust me this is a huge amount of work!!
Is this simply the way Lightroom works? I can partially understand and accept the way direct keyword or rating searches work using the 'Right Hand' panel - although the photo counts are different from what I've got used to in Elements the way the photos are actually displayed is not that different. However, what really confuses me is the completely different way Smart Collections work when compared to the 'equivalent' direct query. Have I missed something? Or is this some form of technical issue/bug/future enhancement request?
Also, on a slightly related issue - I've noticed that keywords with spaces (or other special characters) seem to cause issues for Lightroom - while Elements seems to cope with these OK. Please tell us EXACTLY the steps you are using to move your PSE catalog to Lightroom.
However, if I put the same search criteria into a Lightroom Smart Collection - it retrives and displays ALL of the photos in the 18 stacks (so it displays 2-3 times more photos) and I can't seem to find a way to get the Smart Collection to honour these stacks. I know that I could probably alter each of my photo stacks and change the rating or keyword of all of the photos under the top of the stack - but trust me this is a huge amount of work!!
I believe this is how Lightroom was designed to work. Smart collections don't recognize that some photos are at the bottom of the stack.
Also, on a slightly related issue - I've noticed that keywords with spaces (or other special characters) seem to cause issues for Lightroom - while Elements seems to cope with these OK. From the reading I've done it looks like one of the most common suggestions is to simply remove the spaces (..etc.) in the keywords - is that what most people would recommend??
I have no trouble whatsoever using keywords that have spaces in them. I have keywords that are "New York", "New Jersey", "Union Pacific Railroad", etc. Special characters, such as a comma, will probably cause trouble. Exactly what are you doing where spaces in keywords are not working properly?
