Search Results in Reader won't display attachments

The same search I do in Pro v9 successfully when done in Reader v8 the search results does not display the attached .xls file only the instances that the text appears in the pdf. Advanced options to include attachment in search was selected. See image below for illustration. What am I missing?

As per my knowledge of WDJ, SPA by default always had Overview screen and, users had option to click edit and fields will show up for edit.
For making read only we have to make explicit changes, from personalization or from self service admin role etc. May be ur team did some explicit changes through personalization and self service admin role.
To make the fields readonly etc, you can try in these ways:
1. Personalization
2. From V_T588MFPROPC settings
3. V_T7XSSPERSUBTY for the infotype you have to check "Data must be displayed in read-only"

Adobe Reader won't display PDF in IE Browser Window

I am using Adobe Reader XI and Internet Explorer v. 11.0.9600.17280.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Adobe. I've also checked IE Add-Ins and all Adobe Reader Add-Ins are enabled.
However, you're poorly written software STILL WILL NOT display PDFs in browser any more.
I need help, but since you're software is so horrible, you do not offer typical technical support.

My company is having the same problem and I was hoping for some kind of final explanation.
The fix of resetting the Internet Explorer settings works for a time, then it later it has the problem again. Our company has a reporting site which needs the documents to open in the browser to allow for drill down(generating another report based on a link in the document), so the reports have to be in the browser not a separate Adobe Reader Window. We have tried other fixes on the Web like the TabProcGrowth=1, but still the problem happens later.
Our users are tired of resetting their Internet Explorer settings every week or more. As this has worked in all previous versions, I would agree the issue probably lies in Internet Explorer or at least partly in Internet Explorer, but we need some way to keep the files opening in the browser rather than a separate Reader window. Any additional thoughts or fixes by anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Google Search results and google home page display as symbols

Any attempt to use "google" within Firefox 15 or 16 on my laptop returns a page full of symbols. All other pages and sites that I visit work just fine. The kind of symbols I see ...a subset of .... are pasted below

You can check the network.http.* prefs on the about:config page. 
Reset user set (bold) network.http prefs to the default value via the right-click context menu -> Reset.
Check at least:

How to display the search result without reloading the whole page

HI,
I have separate fragments for Search Box to enter keyword and Search Result to display the result. Also I have different sections within the page to put these fragments. So how could I display the results without reloading the whole page.
Also if I have next button in my search result area, how could I display the search results in next page without reloading all other sections present in our page. Please let me know if any service or idoc function present such that result could be shown in search result section without reloading whole page.
Please let me know how to restrict page reload for every action within a page.

This is default behaviour of the template of your space. You can create a new page template and than you can create a region for the search results.
Or you can create a custom taskflow were you use the webcenter taskflows to search for the space.

Display of Spotlight search results

How can I enable the Finder to show (a) the created date and (b) the path to all search results of a Spotlight search?

when you select an item among the search result its full path is displayed at the bottom of the search window. that's the best you can do.

Showing search results in multiple pages

Hi,
i want some logic for following requirement..I have a jsp page in that i will enter empno,empdept..and i will click on search button..when user clicks on search we will get some search results..i want to display these results based on maximum rowsize mentioned bye the use..if he selects 10..it should display 10 per page and a next button like java forum..if he clicks on next it should display the next results.like wise untill endof resultset..and these results should be displayed on the same page og jsp.
plz give me some logic for these req..

This has been asked several times in the past couple of months. Search for "Paging" on these forums. Example:

And others suggest grabbing only the number of records from the DB that you will display.

My Firefox is giving me search results in tiny letters and I am failing to find how I can change that. What should I do?

I do not know how Firefox search results were made to be displayed in tiny letters which are difficult to read on my computer. I have tried to use settings to change the display but cannot make the letters bigger. I also have tried resetting Firefox to default and it is not helping. I have tried computer settings and nothing has worked.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and it did not work. What can I do to get the words displayed after searching bigger?

You may have zoomed the page(s) by accident. Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

Add "Save" button to search results

a customer would like to add a "Save" button to search results to enable users to download documents in KD instead of opening them.
Results can be for instance from a crawled file system.
How can I do it?

As long as your list is bring crawled, which it must be, your custom columns should get mapped to managed properties. You can now update your Search Results Web Part's Item Display Template to retrieve this additional particular managed property,
and then display it if there is a value.

Search Results Details

I've been considering migrating from Windows to Mac for the past year and have had the chance to test drive my girlfriend's machine, and my mom's also.
So far I find limitations that really seem discouraging and I'm wondering if the latest OS has fixed the limitation of search results in Finder: Can you display the file size, path, and other attributes in the search results?
Frankly I was stunned to find that I could search for say, files over 32MB but then not see their location in the Finder search results list.
Windows has had this ability as far back as I can remember, v3.1?

file path was always available in search results. it's displayed at the bottom. the number of other attributes you can list in search results was increased in snow leopard although it's not huge. switch to column or coverflow flow in a finder search window. then go to view->menu->show view options and check the boxes for columns you want to see. for some reason the size column is listed but is grayed out. that looks to be a bug. the following workaround lets you add the size column to the search results

Special letter in file name in search results

Store won't display search results, tabs dead

Search results in iTunes Stoe (11) won't display all items (i.e. it reads "Total: 301 items" at the bottom of the list but only 16-20 will show up (depending on my luck). This is even true of, for example, a podcast show page itself. When I scroll down, there are empty lines where episode titles should go, but if I go all the way to the end, they suddenly disappear and the "Total: 301 items" jumps to the end of the 16-20 item long list.
Categories within search results won't display either (i.e. I can see the "All," "Books," iTunes U" list on the right side, but clicking on each does nothing).
Going from "Details" to "Ratings and Reviews" also requires clicking the tab and then reloading the page. My connection is fine, this has been happening for at least the last month at home, while out, using wifi and when drectly connected by old timey cables. Updated this morning, still no change.

If that does not help... As a test, to narrow down the cause, you may want to create a new user account in System Preferences Users & Groups pane. It can be Standard or Admin. Log out and log in to the new user account (do not use Fast User Switching).
Try running iTunes from the new user account, and accessing the iTunes Store.
If the problem does NOT occur in the new account, the cause is likely to be something in your primary user account. For example, it could be user preferences settings, or something related to your iTunes library, or a background process that runs in your account that is interfering somehow.
If the same problem does occur in the new account, the cause is likely to be related to the overall OS, the iTunes application, or maybe network settings that block access to the iTunes Store.
Either way, you'll be able better focus additional troubleshooting.

Why won't search results display one page at a time?

Search result pages using google automatically load so i can never get to options at the bottom of a page.
Driving me nuts! Just want to load 1 page at a time!!!

Some extensions have this feature, e.g., AutoPager. Can you check your extensions on the following tab for any that seem to imply that they make using Firefox faster or more automatic and try their Options button to see whether you can turn off this feature?

Displaying the count of search result?

We have built new search pages for our client to search for candidates registering in their iRecruitment site. The client prefers to see the no of records of each search result. Typically some searches may fetch around 50000 records.
How to achieve this. Currently we have set the VO_MAX_FETCH_SIZE for one responsibility as 50000. I think this will have a performance impact and it cannot display the exact count if it is > 50000. Is there any other way just to show the count of search records?

As Ram insisted before that if no. of records in your VO is more than max fetch size set in profile option, then it won't return excat number of records.You can very well use this method in normal flow, if you expect that your VO query will not return more than max fetch size records.
Otherwise run a separate query to get total, as discussed.

IPad app store won't display certain apps, and itunes store won't display any searches at all

Hi. My problem started when instagram won't open bc it says I have an old version, but everytime I checked the "updates" in the app store, instagram doesn't appear. So I deleted it. Now no matter how I search on my iPad for instagram and other certain apps (like 8tracks), they won't appear in the search results! Even when I try to download the apps via the iTunes store, nothing I search on iTunes ever displays. It just loads and stops halfway. I've tried downloading a new iTunes and restoring my iPad but nothing works. Can anyone help me please?
