Search Service stopped crawling content after previously working

The search service stopped crawling contennt. This was working previously.  I tried to stop full crawl and restart.  The ULS logs reveals this error repeatedly. when filter on search errors.
Microsoft.Ceres.ContentEngine.SubmitterComponent.ContentSubmissionDecorator : CreateSession() failed with unexpected exception System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[System.String]: The creator of this fault did not specify a Reason. (Fault Detail is equal
to Specified flow: Microsoft.CrawlerFlow could not be started. Unable to start a flow instance on any of the available nodes.).
Before we dropped the index and or rebuilding the Search Service application has anyone else worked on a similar issue?
Thank you.

Hi PSCoan,
From the error message, it seems that the service account running the SharePoint Search Host Controller and the SharePoint search server 15 is missing the following four local policies:
SeAssignPrimaryTokenPrivilege (Replace a process-level token )
SeImpersonatePrivilege (Impersonate a client after authentication)
SeServiceLogonRight (Log on as a service)
SeIncreaseQuotaPrivilege (Adjust memory quotas for a process)
Please go to the Local Group Policy Editor to assign the policies to the service account.
Click Start , type gpedit.msc in the
Start Search box, and then press ENTER .
Expand Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment.
Right click “Replace a process-level token” -> Properties -> Add User or Group.
Right click “Impersonate a client after authentication” -> Properties -> Add User or Group.
Right click “Log on as a service” -> Properties -> Add User or Group.
Right click “Adjust memory quotas for a process” -> Properties -> Add User or Group.
Thanks,
Victoria

  • Elements 12 not opening after previously working

This is the second copy of elements 12 i've had and yet again it's stoppped working, says my trial has run out and i need to buy the full version but it's the full version I have. Can anyone help me because Adobe can't or won't help. I've spent over 6 hours on the live chat "help" without getting anywhere at all it's as if the technical team have no idea how to work their own software.

    Try the licensing service update:

  • Bluetooth streaming audio won't work w FORD SYNC after previously working.

Simply pull the SYNC module fuse, then place it back in.  This should clear up any problems that anyone is having if your bluetooth audio won't stream or your SYNC keeps saying NO BLUETOOTH DEVICE FOUND.  You can also disconnect your car battery cables, then connect them back and this will reset the SYNC Module.  I am a Ford Dealer in Southeast GA and had the above problem but just solved it.

  • Data services stop working after updating to new OS version for Q10

I am from Qatar, after i updated my device ( Q10 SNQ100-3 ) to new OS ( 10.2.1.537 ), the mobile data services stopped working, but it works everytime I connect to wifi. This is the same with Z10. Please need help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
    2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

    Hi,
    Please try below mentioned steps:
    1. Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service Timer Job" > Disable
    2. Then open windows administrative services (services.msc), stop SharePoint Timer Service
    3. Clear SharePoint Timer configuration cache by following steps mentioned in below blog:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jamesway/archive/2011/05/23/sharepoint-2010-clearing-the-configuration-cache.aspx
    4. Start SharePoint Timer Service and give it a few seconds so that the new XML files from the location you deleted then are re-populated.
5.Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service" Timer Job > Enable
    Hope it helps!

  • Unable to open search service content sources from SharePoint

    HI
unable to open search service content sources from SharePoint , I got this error in search server event viewer .
A database error occurred. Source: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 Code: 1205 occurred 1 time(s) Description: Transaction (Process ID 66) was deadlocked

    Hi,
Based on the error message, I recommend to stop all the crawl process in SharePoint search service application by using PowerShell and then check the results:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2010/09/28/how-to-use-sharepoint-2010-windows-powershell-cmdlets-to-manage-search-crawls.aspx
The deadlock error will occurs when there are too many overlapping crawls, so I recommend to schedule the crawl to not overlap in SharePoint and add more crawl components if needed.

  • Set up Search Service App For SharePoint server 2013 on Windows server 2012 R2 not working

    Hi all,
I installed SharePoint server 2013 on Windows  server 2012 R2 using VirtualBox.  I created a DC(domain controller) server with a domain set up on one VM and it has SQL server 2012 SP1 installed. Then SharePoint 2013 on another VM was set up to access

  • SharePoint Foundation 2013 search service crawl error

    Hi all,
When I try to view the Crawl log of Search Service Application I am getting error something like below:-
I tried to figure out why this is happening but could not find the error details related to above Correlation ID.
Can you please help me & guide me in right direction. I am clueless how to fix this issue. Yesterday it was working  fine but somehow it stopped working today and it even does not display the Crawl log. So it has become tough at least for me to
    fix it.
    Thanks for help.

Did you try a using the
Merge-SPLogFile cmdlet to retrieve the events that use this correlation ID?

  • Sharepoint 2013 - Search service not working

We have set the search service application to crawl incrementally. The crawls are taking a long time. The content is not vast over the single farm but we do have a few sizable document libraries, lists and media assets. Suggestions as to what to check
again first? Screen shot of the search admin page.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that Search service failed to work in SharePoint 2013.
The cause is that Accounts that are used by application pools or services are members of the Administrators group on the local computer.
I recommend to change the user account to a predefined account, or to a domain user account that is not a member of the Administrators group.

  • Crawl log error in sharepoint 2013 for search services

    Dear Support,
please find below mention crawl log error in sharepoint 2013 for search services.
8,597 The server is unavailable and could not be accessed. The server is probably disconnected from the network.
423 This item could not be crawled because the repository did not respond within the specified timeout period. Try to crawl the repository at a later time, or increase the timeout value on the Proxy and Timeout page in search administration. You might also
want to crawl this repository during off-peak usage times.
59 Processing this item failed because of a timeout when parsing its contents.
11 The filtering process has been terminated
4 SharePoint returned an empty response.
3 The crawler could not communicate with the server. Check that the server is available and that the firewall access is configured correctly.
2 The crawler could not communicate with the server. Check that the server is available and that the firewall access is configured correctly. If the repository was temporarily unavailable, an incremental crawl will fix this error.
would request your support for resolving this type of issue

    1. Are you able to browse the sites on SP server. server is unavailable means that application pool
of that site is down. Check application pool on all server. if you start any application pool. make sure it does not stop few minutes later. you need to update password if it does stop
    2. Create a disable loopbackcheck of registry on all servers
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sharepoint_foxhole/archive/2010/06/21/disableloopbackcheck-lets-do-it-the-right-way.aspx
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926642/en-us
    3. Create a new search service application and check if you face same issue.
    4. I assume you have change some password or other setting when you started facing this issue. what changes were made in environment

  • Working of search service

    Hi All,
i want to know how does the search exactly works in backgroung in plumtree/alui/oracle webcenter portal search. can some one provide any link or doc regarding this. I am using Plumtree v6.0 and search server 6.0. please let me know if any other information is required.

    Hi,
Search is very differnt in ALUI/ Plumtree from WebCenter.
ALUI/ Plumtree comes with its own search service. This service can be configured through the configuration manager for ALUI. They provide nice extension mechanisms. For example you can write you own Web Crawler and index content. This will be part of your search results.
WebCenter uses SES which is an Oracle product. That works as a standard Web Crawler on WebCenter based portal or Spaces. For UCM there is a SES component which has to be installed on UCM. This component exports data from UCM in SES format which SES picks up for its DB.
Hope this helps get you started.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that  SharePoint server 2013 Search Service App did not work on Windows server 2012 R2.
Please make sure you configure Search Service Application correctly. You can refer to:Create and configure a Search service application in SharePoint Server 2013
I recommend to created new Search Service Application, and made a full crawl. Then assigned the new SSA as the default SSA for webapplications. Finnlay checked  the issue doesnt occur now,
If all search related components now are online, to keep the enviroonment clean, you can delete the old SSA.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Search Service Application problems after upgrading from Foundation to Enterprise edition of SharePoint 2013

Hi all. I have been searching for days for a solution to a problem I am having with SP2013 Enterprise edition.
We recently upgraded from SP2013 Foundation to SP2013 Enterprise. After the upgrade, the search services are no longer working and we are receiving many application log entries indicating the following:
Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance (ea2019ef-bb9e-4efe-85ee-5d2307406f31).

    as well as:
Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance (ea2019ef-bb9e-4efe-85ee-5d2307406f31).
Reason: The object you are trying to create already exists. Try again using a different name.

       at Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.ApplicationServerJob.ProvisionLocalSharedServiceInstances(Boolean isAdministrationServiceJob)
I have tried to remove the search service application and recreate it, and even though the SharePoint Central Administration states that it was created successfully, I am still getting the same errors in the log. If I go to the Search Service Application
Search Administration page, the "System Status" shows the following message:
The search service is not able to connect to the machine that hosts the administration component. Verify that the administration component '0359af35-0982-4ede-8838-b1d390e915bf' in search application 'Search Service Application' is in a good state and
    try again
Additionally, under the "Search Application Topology" section, it states "Unable to retrieve topology component health states. This may be because the admin component is not up and running" which I assume is normal if the admin is not
    running.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi Joaquin,
According to your description, the error occurred when you re-created the Search Service Application.
Based on the error message, I recommend to verify the things below:
       1. Check if the association between the Search Service Application proxy and the web application is configured.
Please go to Central Administration > Application Management > Configured service application associations > Click Default to see if the Search Service application is checked.
       2. Change the app pool for the Search Service Application to SharePoint Web Services Default in the properties of the Search Service Application.
Please go to Central Administration > Application Management > Manage service applications > Highlight the Search Service Application > Click Properties in the ribbon > Change
the two app pool to SharePoint Web Services Default: App Pool For Search Admin Web Service and Application Pool for Search Query and Site Settings Web Service.
        3. Run PS command to check if the search admin timer job is enabled: Get-SPTimerJob
job-application-server-admin-service | fl. If it is not enabled, use PS command to enabled it and then reset Internet Information Services: Enable-SPTimerJob job-application-server-admin-service.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

When my iPhone is connected (via the Lightning cable) to the usb port in my car, the alert tones are no longer played through the car speaker or the phone.  This previously worked, but has randomly stopped working. help!

I took my iPhone to the Service center of M/s RSG INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED on April 17, 2014.
Why are you posting in this forum about what occured with an independent service provider?  How is is at all relevant to Apple??  In fact, service by any person or business not authorized by Apple voids any waranty.

  • SharePoint 2013 - SQL Server BCS Model Incremental Crawl content doesnt show up in Search results

SharePoint 2013 - SQL Server BCS Model Incremental Crawl content doesn't show up in Search results, Incremental crawl is working fine, i.e., its picking up newly added records in table to the Search, but the newly added content is not available in search
    results page.
But when i do a Full Crawl, search results are showing up with appropriate content.
What could be the issue here?
    Suresh Kumar Udatha.

This time on the Full crawl I got only 62 warnings and 12 errors and ~537.000 success. Warnings were about truncating the crawl documents because their content length exceed the configured for crawl. The 12 errors were "Processing this item failed because
of a timeout when parsing its contents." and "The content processing pipeline failed to process the item.". I think 12 errors is not much to re-execute full crawl. Site collection has one SP Site Group (with Read Permission Level). In this site group I have
only one AD Group added, so permission change is not a possible reason for re-crawl, plus nobody changed anything in this ad group. All documents are stored in 2 document libraries and there are no sub-sites. I want to access these documents trough search
(custom managed property restriction kql) but this way I have no mechanism to fast re-crawl only error documents from the first full-crawl (those 12). This is very strange and put SP 2013 Search almost unusable for my scenario.
