Search size limit

Hi all,
Any one knows how to increase the search size limit in creating a referral policy for a sun-organization, the filter for searching the value field seems returning an error. I could try to type in the value and locate the actual sub-org for inputing to the value filed, but could not verify what it contains.
I've tried to increase the number of MRRFS in the policy configuration is of no use.
BTW, we've around 300 sub-organizations in our test setup.
Any hints?

Hi,
What is the error message or code you get ?

    Am I missing something?
    Has any one seen this? please advise.

    Check if there is another JCo connection configured with the same IP and User. I have found in the past that even though there are two connections configured because they have the same ip and user they are put into one pool with the lowest max pool of the two connections.

  • S1000 Data file size limit is reached in statement

    I am new to Java and was given the task to trouble shoot a java application that was written a few years ago and no longer supported. The java application creates database files the user's directory: diwdb.properties, diwdb.data, diwdb.lproperties, diwdb.script. The purpose of the application is to open a zip file and insert the files into a table in the database.
    The values that are populated in the diwdb.properties file are as follows:
    #HSQL Database Engine
    #Wed Jan 30 08:55:05 GMT 2013
    hsqldb.script_format=0
    runtime.gc_interval=0
    sql.enforce_strict_size=false
    hsqldb.cache_size_scale=8
    readonly=false
    hsqldb.nio_data_file=true
    hsqldb.cache_scale=14
    version=1.8.0
    hsqldb.default_table_type=memory
    hsqldb.cache_file_scale=1
    hsqldb.log_size=200
    modified=yes
    hsqldb.cache_version=1.7.0
    hsqldb.original_version=1.8.0
    hsqldb.compatible_version=1.8.0
    Once the databsae file gets to 2GB it brings up the error meessage 'S1000 Data file size limit is reached in statement (Insert into <tablename>......
    From searching on the itnernet it appeared that the parameter hsqldb.cache_file_scale needed to be increased & 8 was a suggested value.
    I have the distribution files (.jar & .jnlp) that are used to run the application. And I have a source directory that was found that contains java files. But I do not see any properties files to set any parameters. I was able to load both directories into NetBeans but really don't know if the files can be rebuilt for distribution as I'm not clear on what I'm doing and NetBeans shows errors in some of the directories.
    I have also tried to add parameters to the startup url: http://uknt117.uk.infores.com/DIW/DIW.jnlp?hsqldb.large_data=true?hsqldb.cache_file_scale=8 but that does not affect the application.
    I have been struggling with this for quite some time. Would greatly appreciate any assistance to help resolve this.
    Thanks!

    Thanks! But where would I run the sql statement. When anyone launches the application it creates the database files in their user directory. How would I connect to the database after that to execute the statement?
    I see the create table statements in the files I have pulled into NetBeans in both the source folder and the distribution folder. Could I add the statement there before the table is created in the jar file in the distribution folder and then re-compile it for distribution? OR would I need to add it to the file in source directory and recompile those to create a new distribution?
    Thanks!

  • 4GB File Size Limit in Finder for Windows/Samba Shares?

    I am unable to copy a 4.75GB video file from my Mac Pro to a network drive with XFS file system using the Finder. Files under 4GB can be dragged and dropped without problems. The drag and drop method produces an "unexepcted error" (code 0) message.
    I went into Terminal and used the cp command to successfully copy the 4.75GB file to the NAS drive, so obviously there's a 4GB file size limit that Finder is opposing?
    I was also able to use Quicktime and save a copy of the file to the network drive, so applications have no problem, either.
    XFS file system supports terabyte size files, so this shouldn't be a problem on the receiving end, and it's not, as the terminal copy worked.
    Why would they do that? Is there a setting I can use to override this? Google searching found some flags to use with the mount command in Linux terminal to work around this, but I'd rather just be able to use the GUI in OS X (10.5.1) - I mean, that's why we like Macs, right?

    I have frequently worked with 8 to 10 gigabyte capture files in both OS9 and OS X so any limit does not seem to be in QT or in the Player. 2 GIg limits would perhaps be something left over from pre-OS 9 versions of your software, as there was a general 2 gig limit in those earlier versions of the operating system. I have also seen people refer to 2 gig limits in QT for Windows but never in OS 9 or later MacOS.

  • Slide size limit?

    I am trying to use keynote to create a poster that is 4ft wide by 8ft tall(for a physics conference where that is the standard size). It seems like inspector limits me to creating slides that are 4000x4000 pixels (about 55.5"x55.5"). If I try to put in any value larger than 4000 it does not work. However if I open a powerpoint that is larger than 4000 pixels in one of its dimensions keynote doesn't seem to have trouble opening it and showing a value larger than 4000 in inspector.
    Is there anyway to work around this size limit?

    Hi pwbrenner,
    You've confirmed my observation (that's why I'm searching on this topic). You can use Pages instead, as it will allow the larger sizes we seem to need. Although I imagine your conference is over by now!

  • Exchange 2010 SP1 database size limit?

    I have seen several posts concerning exchange 2010 Standard database limit being 50GB but can be increased by modifying the registry. We were migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 by a vendor. My current database is  188.1GB. I searched the registry
    for the changes to increase the database form the 50GB limit but it does not look like they made the changes. What has me baffled is how can my database be 188.1 GB if they did not modify the registry?
    Thank you,
    Cecil

    So you only use Database Size Limit in GB registry if you want to hard set the size? From some of the posts I had seen they were saying it was 50 GB by default and could be expanded to 1TB by modifying the registry. I did not understand
    why the instructions included modifying the registry if it was not needed. I am by no means trying to dispute it just trying to understand.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Listener.log size limit on Linux 64-bit

    Hi!
    We have listener.log file growing very fast because of very active database. Every month or two I truncate that file to free up disk space but this time I forgot to truncate it for some time.
    File grew to 4294967352 bytes and stopped there on that size. Everything is working as it should with listener service - only listener.log file isn't updating.
    I've tried to search for more informations about listener.log size limit but haven't found answer that satisfies me.
    Where can I find more information why my listner.log file is limited to 4294967352 bytes?
    I suppose that this is some OS limit but how can I check this?
    It is Linux 64-bit OS with Oracle 10.2.0.4.
    Thanks for possible answers and best regards,
    Marko Sutic

    Ah, yes... thanks Sybrand for reminder, my brain just stopped working :)
    Just resolved my problem:
    LSNRCTL> set current_listener LISTENER_DB
    Current Listener is LISTENER_DB
    LSNRCTL> set log_file listener_db1
    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=10.2.10.40)(PORT=1521)))
    LISTENER_DB parameter "log_file" set to listener_db1.log
    The command completed successfully
    LSNRCTL> set log_file listener_db
    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=10.2.10.40)(PORT=1521)))
    LISTENER_DB parameter "log_file" set to listener_db.log
    The command completed successfully

    Select Name,SamAccountName |
    Sort -Property Name |

    Purpose: I'm attempting to list users accounts who belong to a specific group but only those users from a specified OU.
    The script above ran perfectly yesterday when I wrote it, producing exactly what I need.  However, when I came into work today, and working in the same session of Powershell, I received the following:
    Get-ADGroupMember : The size limit for this request was exceeded
    At line:1 char:1
    I then closed the session and attempted to run this script again but keep receiving the same error.  I don't want to change the ADWS settings to extend the size, is there an alternative or some modification I can do to achieve the same result?
    Please advise.  Thanks.

    Hi,
    You may need to use DirectorySearcher methods instead. Here's some information and a sample script from the repository:

  • What is the size limit of mbox files in Leopard Mail 3.0 ?

    What is the file size limit of mbox files in Leopard Mail?
    e.g. a main folder -- that contains no actual emails -- but contains many sub-folders each of which have an mbox file.
    Each mbox file has a limit, but because the main folder has several mbox files/subfolders, it means that the size of the main folder gets very large.
    Question: is there is a size limit for the main folder, even though there is no mbox file associated with the main folder (since it merely acts as a folder for subfolders)?
    Question: what is the practical limit for each mbox file -- theoretical and practical? i.e. what size should we not exceed in order to avoid corruption?

    I've been researching for the same answer. And technically speaking, I don't have one. In the past, I've "heard" that the mailbox size limit was something like 1GB for Mail (OS X 10.3) and then something like 2-4GB for Mail (OS X 10.4). I have searched all over the place in technical documentation and can't really get a good answer. I'm almost leaning towards believing that there is no limit, based on the fact that the database that mail is using (particularly for OS X 10.4) is BerkeleyDB 4.2.52 and that DB doesn't have a size restriction. I'm not sure if that is the only factor involved though. I've tried researching the limits for KMail, which is the mail program that runs on KDE (Linux), which is the program that Mac OS X Mail is based off of... and I can't find anything there either. Most people say, "It's a free app, so don't expect much," but I'd rather use Mac OS X Mail than most anything else. I hope that maybe someone from Apple... or someone else who can reference technical documentation can help out. Thanks!

  • IPad Mail - Maximum Attachment Size Limit (Sending)

    Is there a maximum size limit for attachments that the iPad Mail App can send?
    We have an iPad connected to an Exchange server through our internal wireless network. Mail is received by it (even with very large attachments) but if an email is sent with one or more attachments that total over 10MB, the email stays in outbox with an error "Cannot Send Mail" "An error occurred while delivering this message."
    I've checked all of the limits on the Exchange server but these are all set to 20MB. Smaller attachments (6MB, 8MB, etc) work without any issues. I've searched these forums and around the internet but haven't been able to find anything about this and nothing about where any such limit would be configured.
    Thanks in advance for any help

    Done it! My colleague found an article here: http://www.i-tekpro.com/BlogArchive/Exchange2007/Max-Message-Size-Increase-Excha nge-2007-CAS.htm that discussed how to change a limit in an Exchange ActiveSync config file that seems to have been tripping us up. We changed the limit and got the email through. It's worth noting that this also applies to Exchange 2010, not just 2007.
    Many thanks for your help with this,
    Barry

  • VLV size limit problem

    I have a user that is using Softerra's LDAP Administrator to look through the directory. I am running DS 6.3.1 with a 6.3.1 proxy in front of it. There is no size limit set on the directory server but when the user uses VLV for sorting cn and ou he gets a err=4 and it stops him at 250 entries. Can someone tell me how to allow this user to use VLV without getting a size limit error?
    When I do the same search I can see everything, but my account is a directory admin account with more privileges.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Do you get the same error when you point Softerra directly to the directory?

  • DBMS_LDAP size limit

    How do you set the size limit (number of rows) that the LDAP search returns?

    Don't change the default LDAP Policy Setting for the Maximum Number of Results. It may negatively impact performance, leaves yourself vulnerable to Denial of Service attacks, and I can guarantee that if you configure a specific value, in the future you will hit that limit as well.
    Write your application correctly using Paged Results.
    You can find sample code in the post titled "JNDI, Active Directory, Paging and Range Retrieval" available at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=578347&tstart=0
    And BTW, the LDAP Policy settings for Active Directory Domain controllers are not configured via regsitry settings, they are configured via LDAP Policy objects which can be manipulated using NTDSUTIL.EXE or the Windows 2000 Resource kit utility script MODIFYLPDAP.VBS
    But as I said, write your application correctly using Paged Results.

  • Anyone know the ActiveSync size limit for Sending?

    I noticed that I have quite a few Event ID 1008 Warnings on my Exchange server today.  All of them are exactly the same and are all for the same user.  They occur every 5-10 min.  So I have discovered through research that this is caused (at
    least in this case) by a message being sent from the mobile device (iPhone in this case) that is to big.
    I have run a test on my own device (Droid X) where I attempted to send a message with a 14MB attachment.  The exact error is logged at the same time as the other intial error.  This is easy enough to fix: you simply need to go to the
    Outbox on the phone or device and delete the stuck message.
    However, I am now currious where this limit is set and how to find the exact size limit.  Through searching no one seems to know, but the limit is deteremined somewhere between 5-10MB.  Also, it is not set in Exchange as others like to recommend.
    My send connector message size is 50MB and there is no limit set on the ActiveSync policy.
    Anyone know the answer to this?  Is it an Exchange setting or is it determined by the particular phone/tablet?\
    Thanks.
    Event 1008 for others reference:
    An exception occurred and was handled by Exchange ActiveSync. This may have been caused by an outdated or corrupted Exchange ActiveSync device partnership. This can occur if a user tries to modify the same item from multiple computers. If this is the case,
    Exchange ActiveSync will re-create the partnership with the device. Items will be updated at the next synchronization.

    Looks like I found the probable location of this size limit.  Looking at the web.config file in the
    ExchServer\ClientAccess\Sync folder there is an entry for "MaxDocumentDataSize".  THe value is currently set at 10240000:
    <add key="MaxDocumentDataSize" vaulue ="10240000">
    So this is 9.75 MB or there about, which sounds about right.  I will try increasing this limit at some point to verify.
    Can anyone confirm this?

  • "Convert Text to Table" Size limit issue?

    Alphabetize a List
    I’ve been using this well known work around for years.
    Select your list and in the Menu bar click Format>Table>Convert Text to Table
    Select one of the column’s cells (1st click selects entire table, 2nd click selects individual cell)
    Open “Table Inspector” (Click Table icon at top of Pages document)
    Make sure “table” button is selected, not “format” button
    Choose Sort Ascending from the Edit Rows & Columns pop-up menu
    Finally, click Format>Table>Convert Table to Text.
    A few days ago I added items & my list was 999 items long, ~22 pages.
    Tonight, I added 4 more items. Still the same # pages but now 1,003 items long.
    Unable to Convert Text to Table! Tried for 45 minutes. I think there is a list length limit, perhaps 999 items?
    I tried closing the document w/o any changes. Re-opening Pages & re-adding my new items to the end of the list as always & once again when I highlight list & Format>Table>Convert Text to Table .....nothing happens! I could highlight part of the list up to 999 items & leave the 4 new items unhighlighted & it works. I pasted the list into a new doc and copied a few items from the middle of the list & added them to the end of my new 999 list to make it 1003 items long (but different items) & did NOT work. I even attempted to add a single new item making the list an even 1000 items long & nope, not working. Even restarted iMac, no luck.
    I can get it to work with 999 or fewer items easily as always but no way when I add even a single new item.
    Anyone else have this problem?  It s/b easy to test out. If you have a list of say, 100 items, just copy & repeatedly paste into a new document multiple times to get over 1,000 & see if you can select all & then convert it from text to table.
    Thanks!
    Pages 08 v 3.03
    OS 10.6.8

    G,
    Yes, Pages has a table size limit, as you have discovered. Numbers has a much greater capacity for table length, so if you do your sort in Numbers you won't have any practical limitation.
    A better approach than switching to Numbers for the sort would be to download, install and activate Devon Wordservice. Then you could sort your list without converting it to a table.
