Search Suggestion in WDA ?

Hi,
Search suggestion is sometimes useful, sometimes irritating. But for sure, it is 'cool' .
I am wondering if this ajax-like feature could be implemented in search in Web Dynpro ABAP?
As a newcomer in  Web Dynpro ABAP, the way I figure what the problem is - in WDA the whole page refreshes at a time. Is it really possible to capture keystroke and handle that without refreshing the entire page?
Anybody out there have any idea regarding this?
Thanks for your interest.
Best Regards,
Rajib

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Found the suggestValues property and enabled it.
Is there any other thing to do to make it work? I mean connecting to the query behind the search or anything else?
Yes I work in SRM(palo alto).
Thanks and regards, Rajib

  • Search Suggestions and Past Searches are not prolific as it is used to be.

In the latest version of Firefox, the search suggestions and the search history are only a few items. There used to be a scroll bar and also a separator to distinguish between our past searches and google search suggestions. There seems to be a change in the search box. Is this permanent - and any nice search box or a toolbar to replace it?

Hi - Yes, that returned the old search bar, thank you. But when I enter a keyword again, the past search tips and keyword suggestions are not as much as it used to be - there is no scroll bar and a few keywords (around 10). Is there any reason for this? I guess this is irreversible as that changed in the new version of the Firefox?

  • STILL Not Able to Stop Search Suggestions

This is a follow-up to an earlier question I asked, viz. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/928773 Stop Search Suggestions in the Awesome Bar]. The solution presented in that question worked for a while, but now the ugly problem has returned.
I made sure to turn off Search Suggestions for Google search (indeed, for all included search engines), and I inserted the URL described in the answer. It did no good - Search Suggestions are back.
I am able to turn off Search Suggestions in Google Chrome. I am also able to turn off Google Instant, something else I can't (yet) do in Firefox.

Problem solved at last by choosing "When Firefox starts: Show a blank page" and setting my Home Page to about:blank.
When Firefox starts or when I go to my Home Page or when I open a new tab, I enter my search term in the Awesome Bar. (No other place to enter it.) The search opens to the following URI:
    https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&complete=0&site=webhp&q=[search term]
Now I can type a new search term ''into Google's own search box'' with no search suggestions. The resulting URL is:
https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&complete=0&site=webhp&q=[new search term]&[long string of code]
Of course, this means I need to forgo FF 13's fancy new Home Page, but I can live with that.
I should add that this is not a Firefox problem per se. It's really about how to outwit Google.

  • Why my search suggestion not working in Mail and Finder?

After upgrade to Lion, I try the "search suggestion" in both Finder and Mail. but it didn't work, can any body tell me why? thank you!
    It should be like this:
    but mine is like this:

When I go to settings/iTunes App Store my Apple ID is not there. When I enter my ID and password it does not save or link to account.
When fist setting up your new iphone you will be asked to log in with an apple id and password. If this did not happen you can then do as you suggested going to settings to itunes and app store and add your apple id login. This apple id login must have already been created for the iphone to accept it. If this apple id is already created but is not being accepted by your iphone you then should shut down your iphone and restart the device.
    Good luck.

  • Search suggestion not working for anonymous user in sharepoint 2013

    Hi ,
Please help on this search suggestion not working for anonymous user in sharepoint 2013

You can create a search center site, and set the search center site to
    allow anonymous access.

  • How can I restore "type ahead" Search suggestions?

Back in the good old days of Safari 3 (and 4?) it had a useful trick of auto-completing phrases as you started typing in the Google Search field. It stopped working in Safari 5, so I was directed to Glims for Safari, which worked great.
Up until last week, although the Links part of Glims didn't work, the Search Words (i.e. type ahead) did work so I was happy enough. Now it's stopped. I download the latest Glims and now I have the Links working, but not the type ahead Search Words!
In Safari I've changed my New Tab default page from Top Sites to Google UK Home page instead. This loads much quicker than Top Sites and the cursor is in the Search field. Typing anything brings "type ahead search suggestions".
Is this my only option? Anyone know why Glims should suddenly stop doing what it used to?

For an issue with Glims, better to ask the developers of the software.
You can report a bug here >  http://www.machangout.com
If you are a Facebook user, you can Like Glims then ask questions directly on their news feed. They will respond.
For Safari, make sure:  Prevent search engine from providing suggestions is not selected in Preferences > Privacy
    And try this for Safari...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type of copy/paste:   ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
Click Go then move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

  • Google Search- How to turn off search suggestions

    Hi,
Is there a way to "turn off" "search suggestions" in the search field. As I find it quite annoying when I type then move the mouse and something else gets selected other than what I typed.
    Thanks
    Safari 4.05

    Hi Bill
Easiest way to eliminate the Google "help" search prompts is to install 3rd party freeware Glims. Latest version build is available here.
Once installed you'll find Glims as a separate panel in your Safari Preferences. If it doesn't appear in the panel list, click on the right pointing arrows at the end of the Preference Panels.
Glims provides a number of very useful features for Safari. Specific to your needs, go to Glims' search suggestions sub-panel. There, you can deselect the "auto complete phrase in the search field". Additionally, Glims provides a very helpful search drop down panel for quick access to searches.
There's more to discover with Glims. Clicking on the various sub-panels will reveal other features, including specific search engine options.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Two Bugs in Sysprep: No Win Updates and CopyProfile Copies Search Suggestions

We are using Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64-bit with Update 1.
I am not sure where (and even if) Microsoft accepts bug reports, but here are two that have been major annoyances for us for the past week.  They have workarounds, but they really need to just be fixed:
    1. Windows Updates Do Not Work in Audit Mode
In Sysprep's Audit Mode, the Windows Update functionality does not work.  Updates can be manually installed or installed via PowerShell scripts, but the built-in update functionality does not work in Audit Mode.  This behavior is unexpected, detrimental
to deployments trying to use official tools, and contrary to the behavior of Audit Mode in Windows 7.
We have verified this behavior in multiple installations.
    2. CopyProfile Unexpectedly Copies Start Screen Search History
The CopyProfile setting in the unattend.xml file mostly works as expected, but there is at least one effect that can result in unexpected behavior.
The Start screen in Windows 8.1 allows the user to perform searches, with categories such as "Everywhere," "Settings," and "Files."  When searching using "Everywhere," your search terms are stored at the following
    location as LNK (shortcut) files:
    C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\ConnectedSearch\History
When you use CopyProfile, these entries are transferred to the default profile, so all new users get the Administrator's search history, too.
In addition to this simply being annoying, there is a more serious issue: if any term searched by the Administrator account refers to files or settings that other users cannot access, then the user will receive an "Access is Denied" message.
For example, as the Administrator, I searched for "Device Manager" using the "Everywhere" setting on the Start screen.  A search-suggestion entry was created for this search term in the above folder path.  Then, I Sysprepped
the image using the CopyProfile setting, which copied the search suggestion to the default profile.  I then logged into Windows using a new standard user account, and "Device Manager" was a search suggestion by default.  When I clicked
on this search suggestion as a standard user, a message appeared indicating that access was denied.  At first, I thought I had a serious issue; it seemed to indicate, after all, that I had no access whatsoever to the Device Manager.  However, I could
still get to Device Manager by going through the Control Panel, so I did have access to the Device Manager itself.  Clearing the search history entirely eliminated this problem.
Sysprep, even with CopyProfile, should not copy the search history contained in the
ConnectedSearch\History directory.  Copying the search history is useless in any practical deployment, it is unexpected, and it gives the impression that Windows is malfunctioning when it is, in fact, working just fine.
Is there a way to report these (and other) bugs to Microsoft?

First, I sent an email to the author of PhotoME to inform him of the serious issues his addon caused with Firefox latest versions.
Now, for those of you who do not have the PhotoME addon and yet experience the same problem that I had and that I described above, I suggest the following strategy.
As PhotoME did cause these problems with Firefox latest versions, I am pretty covinved other addons probably might cause these problems too. Therefore, adopt the following method.
Test one addon at a time to see if this particular addon is behind your Firefox issues like the ones I had.
So, disable one addon only at a time. Then close your Firefox and restart it from scratch and see if you still have your Firefox problems. You must restart the Firefox browser from scratch. If you still have these Firefox problems, re-enable the disabled addon, restart your Firefox (again!) and repeat the same method for every single addon that you have.
Try to be selective by choosing first addons that are more likely to cause your Firefox problems such as not very well-known or not very popular addons (like it was the case for the PhotoME addon).
If this method works or if it does not work, report it on this web page so that others can be helped with your comments.
I hope this method will help you because I was really upset that I had these Firefox problems and I first thought it was the fault of Firefox, only to discover later that this PhotoME addon was the culprit and had caused me such upset.

  • How do I disable deleting search suggestions?

I just upgraded to Firefox 34.0 (on Windows 7) so I got the new search box UI with the one-click buttons. When I start typing a search and then hit the Down key or mouse over the suggestions, it highlights the relevant suggestion. So far so good. If I then hit the Delete key, what I want to happen is that a letter is deleted in the search box (where my cursor is still active; if I hit any other keys it types there). What actually happens is that the highlighted search suggestion gets deleted.
I couldn't care less about removing search suggestions. All I want is for my delete key to work on the active field. How can I revert this?

That is how deleting items from a drop-down list works.
If an entry is highlighted and you press the Delete key then the highlighted item is removed.
To avoid that you can use the backspace key instead or press ESC to close the drop down.

  • Safari 4.0 - disable search suggestions

I'm trying to disable the Google search suggestions in the Safari 4.0 search box. I found (and tried) both of these terminal commands:
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4IncludeGoogleSuggest -bool FALSE
    and
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4IncludeGoogleSuggest -bool NO
I quit & restarted Safari after I tried each one and the search suggestions are still there. Any suggestions as to what I may (or may not be) doing correctly?

Tweaks developer just posted this update:
    http://pointum.com/safari-4-final-tweaks.html
Looks like Apple removed the tab options, blue loading bar and some others.

  • Why can't I click on search suggestions?

Just updated to Firefox 4 and I can't seem to click on search suggestions in the browser search field. I have it set to searcg Google and offer suggestions as I type; I can arrow down and hit return but I cannot select suggestions by single of double clicking.

  • Middle click on search suggestions in Search Bar does not switch to new tab

I use profile option "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" = yes (check marked)
Middle clicking on a search suggestion in the Search Bar does open a new tab but Firefox does not switch to it.
This feature used to work for many years until very recently.
    Anybody have any ideas?

Did the problem start with the new search bar design in Firefox 34?
If you want to switch back to using the old bar, it's still hidden inside. Here's how you would do it:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box that appears above the list, type or paste '''search''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.search.showOneOffButtons''' preference to switch it from true to false
This doesn't affect the current window, but each new window you open (Ctrl+n) will have the old Search bar.
I'm not sure when that will be phased out...
