Search update centers

I just saw that sqldeveloper had an update, so I went to go for check for updates within sql developer, but I have no search update centers in the list (under source). I have downloaded the update now anyway, but still, I wonder if anyone knows what the URLs are for the update centers.. can't seem to find them.
Thanks :)

• Search Update intrinsic jobs

There appear to be four intrinsic portal jobs that relate to the search collection: Card Refresh, Search Update 1, Search Update 2, and Search Update 3.
The three Search Update jobs all have the same Operation: Search Update Agent.
Is it necessary to schedule all three Search Update jobs to run regularly?
I only ask because I just noticed that the Search Update 2 & 3 jobs have no job history in my v5.02 portal. I don't know what effect, if any, that has.
Any input is much appreciated.
Thanks,Justin

Hi!
I had a similar issue (weekly housekeeping job) and the problem was the PTJOBLOGS table, it had like 2M records. A support engineer told me to truncate that table (to delete all those records) and it worked.
Hope that works for you.

• Adobe Reader 11 search updates through svchost.exe

I'd like to know because Adobe Reader 11 search updates through svchost.exe microsoft service.
When I try to update adobe reader, firewall warn me that svchost.exe process is attempting to access to armmf.adobe.com (TCP 95.100.227.235 - Port 443).
It could be a virus that has infected svchost.exe?

Updater is using BITs (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa362708(v=vs.85).aspx) to downlaod manifest.
BITs could be using svchost.exe
armmf.adobe.com is the right place.
I do not think there is anything to worry about.

• HT1338 os x 10.5.4, update search, updates to 10.5.8, downloads, restarts, freezes during configuration. i'm not a techie, please answer a fix for this layperson.

after a software update search an update is found, it is downloaded, restarts computer, but during the configuration it freezed at about 15% done. how can i update? i'm a non-techie.

Some general advice on updating Leopard:
It is worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, as they have all been extensively beta-tested, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
So before you do anything else:
If you can, make a full backup first to an external hard disk. Ideally you should always have a bootable clone of your system that enables you to revert to the previous pre-update state.
Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
Disconnect all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site.
The Combo updater of Leopard 10.5.8 can be found here:
http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
Full details about the 10.5.8 update here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3606
More information on using Software Updater here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24901?viewlocale=en_US
Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.5.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
Now proceed as follows:
4. Close all applications and turn off energy saving and screensaver.
5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious! In fact a second restart can be recommended.
9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them compliant with the latest version of your operating system. Give them a week or two while you regularly check their websites for updates.
N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.
Lastly, Apple's own article on the subject of Software Update may also be useful reading:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106695
If you are updating Safari (or just have):
Input Managers from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up.  If you have installed an OS update and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level /Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari.
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party add-on.
Additional tips on software installation here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106692
To reiterate, Input Managers reach right into an application and alter its code. This puts the behavior of the affected application outside the control and responsibility of its developers: a recipe for  problems. That's not to say that issues absolutely will ensue as a result of Input Managers, but you, as a user, must decide. If the functionality of a specific Input Manager or set thereof is really important to you, you may well choose to assume the associated risk.
Again, the advice is to remove all Input Managers from the following directories:
/Library/InputManagers
~/Library/InputManagers
especially prior to system updates (they can always be added back one-by-one later).

• Searching update insert and delete statements

Hi.
Suppose, there is change request containing 10 or more programs.
One of the program has statements, working with database tables,
like update, insert or delete.
Is there any transaction where we can select request number and find
programs working with tables directly.

Hello
1. Goto table E071 with TRKORR = change request and OBJECT = {reps, repo, rept}
2. In field OBJ_NAME will be all reports names in this request
3. In abap-programm upload this reports into internal table
4. Search for 'update' 'insert' and 'delete'
P.s. it is only for reports

• Fast search update?

Just installed an update "Rapid Search".  No idea of what has improved...

Hi,
I can't tell wether that widget is faster after the update (I can't see any improvement).
However, I've noticed there have been some applications installed by that update: messaging (1.58), Conversation Server (1.57), Conversation Appl (1.57), and Video Player (9.22(53)).
I've seen some news from Nokia about new Microsoft communicator for E7. Could this be same thing?

• Ecommerce sticky search, updates!

Dear community.
Forgive my fatigue. I want to set up, on Muse, a shop for clothing with ecommerce functionality to add to cart, add shipping details and credit card/paypal/whatever is easiest.
I am okay at designing websites in Muse, and like the adobe infrustucture, so I thought that Muse would be a good solution.
My google and community searches have been a headache. I understand that things move quickly. I am assuming there are many templates at varied prices, and some widgets, commerce servers, and lots of options. Some I saw were $1000 dollars for a template for enduser resale, and other basic but not pretty widgets were $40.
Has anybody any pearls of wisdom here, any shared knowledge, link to a good sticky on this subject?
Does anyone know of a good, concise summary of options for newbies?
Thanks for reading and for posting if you do find the time.

• Can't update JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 with the SOA Composite Editor

Greetings,
I've installed the Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 and want now to update it with the SOA Composite Editor. After having gone to Help->Check for updates, selected "Search update centers" and checked "Oracle Fusion Middleware Products" and "Official Oracle Extensions and Updates", I don't have in the proposed list of products anything concerning the SOA Composite Editor.
My topology is such that I have installed Oracle Fusion Middleware on a server and, given that three WebLogic servers are required for run it, the AdminServer, the soa_server1 and the bam_server1, I cannot run on the same machine JDeveloper, so I installed it on a different one. Does this have anythin,g to do with the fact that I can't update the JDeveloper installation with the SOA Composite Editor ?
Many thanks in advance,
Nicolas

Can you please go to Help --> About in your Jdeveloper install, and provide the full version number that is listed there.
That will help us understand why the SOA extension may not be visible to you.
Thanks,

• Installing JUnit in Jdeveloper 10g 10.1.3.1

Please help me to install JUnit in JDeveloper 10g 10.1.3.1. I have searched in the site they suggested me to click on 'check for updates' menu option. But if click on check for updates option after click next on welcome page I have selected 'search update centers' radio button and then have clicked on add button which asking to enter Name and Location. But I am not understanding what enter there. I have tried by entering OTN, http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/index.html. I have got any results.
Please help awaiting for reply

Hi,
You don't need to add anything. If you have a functional internet connection that JDeveloper can use, then you will already be able to see Oracle's official update centers in the list (you should see "Official Oracle Extensions and Updates" as the first item).
If you're having trouble with internet connectivity from JDeveloper, check out the Web Browser and Proxy page in Preferences and make sure any proxy settings you require to contact the internet are configured properly.
Thanks,
Brian
