Search without events

When I seach by keyword, the results are sorted by Events.
How do I turn this off?

If you search by typing directly into the search box you don't appear to be able to.
However, if you click on the wee magnifying glass in the search box and select 'keywords' and then click on the particular one it displays without the event titles.
Using a Smart Album will get you the same results.

iCal on my iphone 4 is not searching all events in my Clandar !
I just noticed I had an Entry called "Ashu" appearing in 2009 many times all the way till date.
But on my iMac's ical when i search the entry, it shows up just fine in all days it exists in. Also on my Iphone it shows up when I actually go to the specific date. But on Searching in the ical of the Iphone by typing "Ashu" it only displays the results in 2011 and some in 2010. Nothing before.
Basically all events that exist in 2009 do not show up on the iPhone when i search for them. only show up when I go to that date.
Is it a setting to show all searches rather than just for the past year ?

I just realized I am having the same problem. All iCal events are on my iMac, but I can only view the last 12 months or so on my iPhone 4s. Searching within iCal or the main Search window on the iPhone give the same results, zero.
So when I am at the doctors and they want to know when my child last saw Dr. SoAndSo, the search on the phone shows zero, when I know this is an annual appointment.
Very frustrating. I hope there is a setting that I've just missed since I got the phone last Fall.

Can we write query for fomatted search without from clause

can we write query for fomatted search without from clause as below.
SELECT (($(u_amt)*14)/100)
here U_amt is a UDF .I want to assign this to another field .

You can write query for FMS without from. That is because you can omit it when you get value from active form by default. The grammar of it is:
Select $[$38.u_amt.0\] * 14/100 in your case if you have item type marketing document @line level.
From View-System Information, you can get the info you need for your FMS query at the left bottom of your screen.

Search for events in the past

Is there a way to search for events in the past? If not, is there another calendar application with this feature that would be able to sync with my iPod Touch? This feature is one that I must have. I apologize if I come off as whining but my Palm calendar/address book was able to do this.

Welcome to the Support Communities!
The search feature within the Calendar app should show all events, past and present. First, check to see if you are syncing All Events in your Calendar app. Tap on the Settings app on your Home Screen. Then choose Mail, Contacts Calendars. Scroll down to the Calendar section to see your options.
Next, try the "Spotlight Search" of all of the data on your iPhone to see if the calendar event you are looking for appears.
Finally, try quitting all of your open apps and restarting and/or resetting your iPhone.

My bluetooth seems just to search without connecting...

My bluetooth seems just to search without connecting and finding any phones, PCs. If I send the transfer from another phone or pc, it does ask to pair up but always says not supported. Anyone knows how to fix this issue?

The iPhone bluetooth stack is not intended to pair with other phones or computers (except in hotspot mode for sharing your internet connection with a computer). The Bluetooth on an iPhone is designed for A2DP and AVCRP (I believe I have those correct, headset and stereo audo), as well as some peripherals like the HID keyboard drivers. Other than that, your iPhone requires custom app support for bluetooth connectivity to other devices.

Position search iView event subscribe

This is an MSS question. I have posted it in the Portal Development forum as well, so please ignore if you have seen it already...
Note 1112733 specifies the namespace and event of the employee search iView for subscription by custom iViews.
Event namespace: urn:com.sap.mss.employeesearch
Event name: selection_changed
I am looking for something similar to subsribe to the Position Search iView event. I believe the iView name is
com.sap.pct.erp.mss.posprofile_positionsearch
OSS note 1410996 contains a reference to this iView, if this is of any help.
The subscribing application is written in WD ABAP. I suppose if there is a means of subscribing to all portal events, it can be queried to look for the specific one? I have the team viewer all set up and working.

FYI - Clicking a position on the position search iView also raises the event:
Event namespace: urn:com.sap.mss.employeesearch
Event name: selection_changed
The data object is of object type S as opposed to P when an employee is selected.

KM Search without TREX

Hi JohnP,
searching without Trex is technically possible, but KM is required for such a scenario. You can "simply" develop an IndexService (Search) for KM's Indexmanagement layer connecting any search engine and plug it into the framework. Leave the TREX IndexService empty (not TREX configuration) and you will be able to search upon your IndexService resp. to your search engine.

Using external search without RoboHelp server

Is it possible to index pages external to your project in
order to conduct searches without having RoboHelp Server?

From what I understand, the (PPT, DOC, XLS, TXT, and PDF)
files would have to be included in the project, either in baggage
files or placed in the root of your project folder on the server.
Here is a snip from the online help regarding this:

So it seems that a link to an external file via HTTP or FTP
would not be indexed. I will try to seek further clarification on
this, but that's the way I read it.

Perform Search without first logging into OCS?

Is it possible to configure Ultrasearch to allow users to perform a Web search without having to first login?
I'm using Ultrasearch as part of OCS and each time I try to send a query string as POST data to the search page, I am asked to login. Same if I'm just trying to access the search form. I'm hoping to leverage Ultrasearch to allow our users to search our intranet (developed in-house) without requiring them to login to OCS.

I hope you don't mind an Applescript solution to your problem. I'm assuming all your events are held in one calendar.
The script here will ask for the calendar name, check all future events in that calendar and highlight any that clash.
Try out the script by pasting the text below into a new Script Editor window (Applications>Applescript>Script Editor) and pressing "Run". If you want to keep it, save it as file format "application".

Permanent fix for MSExchange Search Indexer event ID 107

Running Exchange 2010 SP2 2 node CAS, 2 node DAG. On one database I continue to get the MSExchange Search Indexer event ID 107 errors. I run ResetSearchIndex.ps1 every day to fix it, but it keeps coming back.
Is there a better way to fix it?

I suggest that activate your other copy and then seed the content index on the new passive copy.

Further action after leaving search help without event "onEnter"

Hi,
I created an iView with an input field to select an employee with search help PREM. Everything works well, so I can search by several match codes.
And here's my problem: I need the name of the employee in an output field of my iView whenever I select a result of the search help without pressing the enter key (just to make the user sure to use the right employee).
Is there the possibility to call a customer function and afterwards to bind the element? Ok, I think I need an interaction but how can I do this without the event onEnter? I just want to select an employee with the search help and -when returning back- displaying his name.
We substituted an html-application with this iView. The html-appl used a piece of java script in which we used the "on blur"-function, so when we left the input field we called a function to select the employee's name. This way was fine...
Ok folks, who has an idea/solution?!

           what you can do is... instead of a standard search help, you can use ovs... so in the coding part you can fill other details too with respect to the selected value... or
        try filling the output field in the wddomodify method.

How can I create a smart folder that only searches one event?

Is it possible to create a smart album but have it not search my entire library, but only a certain event?
I have created a smart album to find unnamed faces, but I have many old pictures in my library with strangers in them so the smart album ends up quite large. If I could apply the rules of the smart album to only one event at a time I could find the photos i need with no faces recognized in them easier right after I import them.
Or conversely, is there a fast way to delete all the unnamed faces boxes for all my pictures with strangers in them- there must be a faster way than going through and clicking the 'X' on each individual face.

Make the criteria: Event Contains XXXXXXX and Faces is unnamed. That will search only that Event.

People Search without My Sites

Hi,
We are building our corporate intranet and trying to implement people search in our SharePoint 2013 Enterprise edition environment. The environment has been updated up to August CU and I am implementing host-named site collections. The challenge faced is
that we don’t want to implement My Sites at this point. However all reading material points to having My Sites to implement people search. I have set up the User Profile service and imported users from Active Directory. All I want is to be able to search the
User Profiles and display results. Is there any other option besides implementing My Sites? Would setting up the My Site host collection without actually setting up My Sites do the trick?

You need to setup a MySites host in order to take advantage of profiles. You do not need to have mysites enabled for people search to work. If you're worried about MySites being enabled you can keep self site creation turned off and turn off
the social features.
