Search yields right AND wrong results

Hi all,
I've looked around for an answer to this, but so far nothing. Can you help?
When I type in a search term in iTunes (Library: music; Search: all), I get all the correct results, but I also get results that I shouldn't as well. I thought it had to do with the words found in the album's Description field (in this case, it's a podcast), but I deleted the Description (which did contain the search term/s), and yet they still show up in the search results -- as if the podcast is somehow imprinted with the words I deleted, though I cannot find them elsewhere. (These terms do not show up in the podcast's "Show Description" either.)
Does this make sense?
Any ideas?

Hi - Thanks! I checked the Show Description (using Control, aka right-click) but did not see any terms that would cause the podcast to show up in search results. I've already deleted any text in the Description field (Get Info). Still perplexed.

No, it is a reversible plug. Either way is fine.
Just make sure you plug it in straight until it "clicks" into place. It may take a bit of force if new, but check there's nothing in the port first.

Content Search Web Part displaying wrong Results for anonymous Users.

I am getting Wrong results for my content search web part. The requirement is to show the News Description for the selected news item.
I have a catalog site which stores News like
News1
News2
News3
as Items. and i have connected this catalog in publishing site which is anonymous. In the publishing site created one page "News.aspx"added search results webpart which shows all the news item. Added one page "Description.aspx" to show
description to show the selected news item.
When ever user selects any news from news.aspx page it will redirected to description.aspx with the selected item ID
The "Description.aspx" the search results page gets the data based on the URL by QueryString parameter as shown below
The problem is, if i multiple items to open in tabs all the items are showing the data same as the first selected item, though the article ID is different.

Creating a test in PDF: Is it possible to create Right and Wrong answer fields in PDF?

Very new to this. I may be way off, but Im trying to create a test for some students to do in class. Is it possible to create fields that turn green when right and red when wrong? Also can you have a field that accumulates the right answers to give a score?

Sure you can, with a bit of JavaScript. What sort of fields will you be using and what part of the field do you want to be green or red?

How to search a volume and display results by size?

I want to search a specific volume on my computer, not the entire computer, find all files above a certain size, and display those results sorted according to filesize.
I found Martin Pace's trick for getting the Finder to add the current folder to the search location bar. I can set the search criteria to find all files that are, say, greater than 75 MB in filesize, and they're listed in the search results, but then...aaaccckkk!!!, when I type Command-J to bring up the View Options window and add a "Size" column, the "Size" criterion is grayed out.
Perhaps I'm missing something. Can anyone tell me how to add the "Size" column to the search window?

Apple ID both right and wrong in iPad

Hello:
I posted this in the entirely wrong place in this forum. I would delete the wrong post if I knew how to. Here it is, hopefully in the correct place.
I am helping my wife with her iPad/iPhone. Same issue with both.
In Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: new email address, indicating new Apple ID (I know the password)
In App Store > Update All: fails. Up comes box "Apple ID password" and in it is the email address for my wife's old Apple ID. We do not have the old password, and while I just tried to reset it, this failed too (I recreated the email address and tried to get a messsage from Apple with info what to do to reset the password, but no message arrived two hours later).
So, the question is:
How do I change the Appe ID in my wife's iPad and iPhone for App Store? (Remember, it is correct in Settings > iTunes & App Store.)

Hello Hans,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. If you have put in the new Apple ID and when you update apps the old Apple ID appears. That means you will need to remove those apps and download them under the new Apple ID. You would need to know the old password to continue to use that Apple ID

Search UCM service returns wrong results

Hi,
I am trying to get all the files in the specific folder. Here my folder name is 'Sudha',it is under 'Contribution Folder'.
Actual images i could see and uploaded under this folder are only four (WINTER,WATERLILLIES,SUNSET,Test_FINAL) ,
But I am getting 20 files under this folder when i m calling Search web service.
I could nt figure out wher the mistake is and how i got these images.
any suggestions plz.

Search works differently and "wrong" in Solaris environment

I have my test and development databases in Windows and Solaris environements with exactly same database version and configurations.
I have created an intermedia index on following table as follows:

After index has been created, my search works fine in Windows environment, however it behaves irratically in Solaris environment (where data has been exported from the database on Windows environment, and I have checked that the data is identical).

Any idea why it is behaving "irratically" in the database running in the Solaris environment, when I select certain search criteria wheras it works absolutely fine at times?

If you really need to run 8.1.7, you need to upgrade to the latest patchset. I seem to recall a problem like this which was fixed in something like 8.1.7.4. Better still, go to 10g.

I know this thread belongs in another forum. I actually placed it in another forum and received next-to-no response. I guess those guys aren't you guys.

Volume's become a serious issue. My sound is uneven. Music I uploaded months/years ago is fine, the new stuff is far below it. If I'm jogging, some albums near inaudibility amid background noise. I've had this problem since I upgraded from Photo to Video, I'm not sure exactly when, I'm not sure why.

I've trying tinkering with the volume through iTunes. No avail whatsoever. My volume limit is at maximum. It's driving me mad.

If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.

We are facing below issue with fast search.
Currently in My project when we are searching for a phrase it is returning wrong result sets.
For example if we search for “Endura”, It is returning documents related to
Endura as well as Centura.
But the expected results are only Endura documents.
When we look in to the documents we didn’t find the search term (“Endura” ) either inside document content or in its meta data.
In order to resolve the issue we tried the below steps
1-
We manually edited and saved the document, to ensure the appropriate Guid association to metadata.
2-
Index reset
3-
Full crawl
But no luck so far.

This may be related to spellchecking or may be synonym. Spellcheck is based on indexed terms.
The best test would be to run the queries from qrserver (13280) and then look at the spellcheck query transformations. If spellchecking is not doing it, then you must have a synonym setup .Check your keyword/synonyms from the SharePoint side.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Wrong results in URL iview and overview of URL parameters

I have created an URL iView that is supposed to query an index and return results. I am using the URL:
/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.service
and added following URL parameters:
StartPage=SearchPage
ConfigFileName=Navigation.xml
layoutSetMode=exclusive
ResourceListType=com.sapportals.wcm.SearchResultList
SearchType=quick
QueryString=marketing
SelectedSearchIndices=KnowledgeBase
The problem that I have is that the iView returns the second page of results (11-20) instead of the first one (1-10). When I hit the Search button again the result is the first page of results.
Does anyone have experience with this problem?
I've searched SDN on an overview of URL parameters (for example a parameter to specify the number of results to be shown on a page) to solve this problem, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone have an overview on URL parameters?
