Searching for a Aluminum Bumper Case with a front Bezel.?.
I am trying to find a minialist case with a front bezel for some type of screen protection, it doesnt have to be Aluminum but I don't want to cover the whole phone up either. I have checked Apple stores, BB and the web the closest I can find is the Aluframe, it doesnt have much in the way of a front bezel and many reports of interference....Any feed back would be greatly appreated!

Yes it is overpriced and there may be some interference but not as much as some, your mileage may vary.

Hello there. My buddy and I decided to make a podcast and all is going well, except when I search for it it just shows up as "Blake's Podcast" by "Blake Perdue" in the results page. Was your podcast previously entitled 'Blakes's Podcast' and you changed the title? Experience of other posters here suggests that for some reason the search results page can take a lot longer to update than the Store page does; so if this is the case it's just a question of waiting until it sorts itself out.
If your podcast was never entitled 'Blake's Podcast' then there is no obvious explanation, and I could only refer you to Support:

If you have to transfer the number to some one else, the URL format looks fairly simple -
http:// forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=board number\name&message.id=your number.
if you enter the same board, you will have the board number. This doesn't look like a particularly convenient way, but I don't have a problem with copying and pasting URLs.
The other option would be to do a search, but that is not guranteed to give you an exact answer.

Numbers: searching for occurences of text (case sensitive)
For biology class, I have a table for dihybrid genetic crosses. After I fill in all the table, I want another table to be able to count the occurrences of each letter combination.
Essentially, what I want to do is tell a cell to count how many occurrences of "BBHH" are in a range of cells. The COUNTIF function is not case sensitive. I tried nesting the EXACT function inside functions like COUNTIF, COUNT, IF, etc., but EXACT doesn't accept a range of cells.
Is there a way to do this (a.k.a. create a function that would have the same effect as a hypothetical case-sensitive COUNTIF)?Matt,
I think you are giving up too soon. Create an additional column that tests each cell for your value using EXACT. Column A has your values, B2 has EXACT("BBHH",A2) and you have filled down as far as you have needed (say B11). In A12 use COUNTIF(B2:B11,"=true") to count matched values. Hide column B. Repeat for each value you want to search for.

Final Cut Pro will open for a few seconds - then it fails to respond. Apple suggests going to Finder/Go/Home/Library/etc. Problem is that when I get to Home - no file entitled Library. Any suggestions?
The Library folder is hidden - and with good reason.
To get to it, hold down the option key (also known as the "alt" key) and click on the "Go" menu in the Finder. You will see "Library" in there.
You will want then to open the "Preferences" folder inside Library and look for the preferences for Final Cut Pro - there are several files, all with names like com.apple.[something involving FinalCut].plist. Delete them.
Or, much easier: download the free application PrefManager from Digital Rebellion, which can delete these preferences for you (and can back them up are restore in case deleting preferences does not fix your problems). -
Hardware Requirements for a SCCM 2012 CAS with SQL Server Remote
The hardware requirements for a CAS server with SQL Server Enterprise locally installed are:
16 cores (Intel Xeon L5520 or comparable CPU)
64 GB of RAM
1.5 TB of disk space for the operating system, Configuration Manager, SQL Server, and all database files.
Does anyone know what the hardware requirements are if SQL Server Enterprise is remote from the CAS server? It's not listed. -ShaneEven though I am going to be strung up for even saying this, I do agree there is a use for a CAS outside of 100,000 users. If you do indeed have distinct admins managing their own images and apps in remote
locations then I see the benefit of a CAS. A remote ConfigMgr console connecting to a primary site would perform poorly. Admin A at the primary site would not experience any issues but Admin B would be in for a lot of work and waiting. Any
time Admin B needed to add an app or image it would have to be copied up to the remote primary site and then distributed back down. This is not the best scenario.
There are scenarios in company merger situations (and others I am sure) where the management of both locations has not been consolidated down to one location yet and is not going to be done as part of the deployment or upgrade. If you had a 2007 environment
it is going to be very hard to convince the admin at the remote location that this upgrade is going to be a good thing for him/her. There is an option for the remote admin to RDP into a server in the primary site but the image and apps still need
to be distributed down to the remote location. During testing this can be very time consuming.
I do agree that adding a CAS adds additional complexity but in some cases such as the one I described it is the right decision.

We had that design with 2007 (implemented before my time), and as you predicted EU admins complained about difficulty using the console RDP-ed into a box close to the primary site. The bandwidth to and from different regions is out of scope for me so I do what
I can with what I have. We too will be moving forward with a CAS hierarchy.
Administratively the other IT depts in other regions operate on their own. I dont handle any of the EU computers on a day to day basis whatsoever, etc. We're not merging but our IT shops operate with near independence. -

P.S. I must say I am appalled at Apple's apparent hypocrisy: Final Cut 5.1.4 not only fixed bugs and adds support for new cameras, but is required for Leopard. Yet there is no way to obtain an update past 5.0.4 via real Apple channels. A call to Apple got me as far as a level-1 tech who told me "there was a paid update to 5.1.2, but it ended last year" (almost true - that update was from 5.0, was a Universal build, and included new media); I am awaiting a call from a supervisor tomorrow, who hopefully has some actual facts at hand regarding all this. The updates from 5.1 were all free and available though Apple.com or Software Update, until Apple pulled them in a very clear move to force users to pay for the FC Studio 2 upgrade. How positively Microsoftian of them. -

My requirement is to use ranges on LIFNR to select data from EKKO.
Here, I need to give 000123 for a vendor 123. ie, I need to prefix zeros.
The problem is I cannot use any pattern here.. like if I give 12*, the conversion exit will give a dump.
Is there any pattern to specify <0(or any occurance of 0)>12.*

Searching for song while editing playlist with "Add Songs"
When I go to add songs, the Search box still appears in the iPod application... however, it appears to be disabled. This is really frustrating as I have a lot of music and it takes forever to scroll through. This is even more difficult as the Alphabet Scrollbar does not appear in this window either. Is this a bug or the intended functionality?

I have neither of those issues with the iPod app. I'm not sure what you mean by "add songs", but that's not relevant.
If you tap in the search box, doesn't the keyboard appear? And the Alphabet Scrollbar only appears in the master library called "Music". -
Searching for Add-ons gives page with blocked text.
I search Add-ons and get a list. If I click the word "more" next to any item I get a page about that item.
However, most of the links on that page are not clickable and I cannot cut and paste the text of the links. I cannot even access the page source.
I assume this is a bug - Is there any way round it?Do you mean the More link next to an installed extension on the about:addons page (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)?
That are XUL pages (view-source:about:addons) and thus behave differently regarding what you can do and only links that appear in blue can be clicked on those page. -

Search for subject in Mail is case sensitive
I'm hoping this is the right place to ask questions about Apple Mail as the organisation of this forum is mind baffling.

As far as I can see, subject searches in Mail (at least under Yosemite) are not case sensitive. I searched for "your" (all lower case) in the subject and found, among others:
Searching for "Your" (upper case "Y") finds exactly the same messages.

Strange this, because that's what I thought, having used Apple Mail for years. Tried it again and you are right, it is not case sensitive, but earlier today I did a search that definitely returned a different set of results when I changed the word "hours" to "Hours". I wonder if somehow I inadvertently triggered a case sensitive option. -
Spotlight cannot search for type & creator codes?
I want to find some old ClarisWorks documents that I know are on my computer somewhere. Simple, I thought: Just search for documents dated before 2000 with creator code BOBO. But looking through the list of search parameters in Spotlight, I don't find either type or creator code. I know Mac OS X no longer uses these metadata, but they can still be useful, as in cases like this. Am I missing something? Is there a way for Spotlight to search on type & creator codes?
Thanks for the response. I solved my problem by just looking through folders of old files and checking dates of those with AppleWorks icons. Very 21st century. I knew there must be some reason I thought I could do such a search, so I fired up my old 'Pismo' PowerBook and indeed, the Finder search utility in 10.3.9 allows searching for Type and Creator codes. It also will search only on those codes, or on a date or other parameter; while with Spotlight I could find no way to search for, say, all files dated before 1/1/1999 -- it requires something entered in the top field, i.e. a word to search for either in the file's contents or its name. So I put in "the" and got a lot of results, but of course minus any file that doesn't contain "the". Not so smart.
I've never much liked Spotlight, which is way overkill for 95+% of the searching I do; I almost never used it in 10.4 (used Easy Find); in 10.5 at least it's fast enough to not be a major annoyance, though the fact that I can't make "File Name" the default requires me to keep a Spotlight window open in the Finder all the time (or have to manually click on "File Name" every time I want to do a search). Sure it's nice to be able to search the contents of files -- when I need to, but that's almost never. Meanwhile, Spotlight remains far inferior in simple, day-to-day usability to 10.3's Find utility.
So how do you find out how to do such a "Raw Query" search? "kMDItemKind" is not an immediately intuitive term, at least for ordinary mortals such as myself. -
Looking for a notepad to snych with PC
I am looking for an iPhone app which will allow me to do the following:
* Write short texts (notes) on the iPhone
* Write short texts (notes) on the PC
* Conveniently copy / sych them between PC and iPhone
I do NOT look for a web app, but need an app that communicates between PC and iPhone without the necessity of online access.
It seems there is no way of achieving this with the built-in "Notes" application. I have been browsing for quite some time searching for an alternative solution, but with no success. Any idea?RC like myself do not work for Verizon wireless.

The plan change was not necessary unless you purchased smart phones. If you were buying clam shell basic phones only then no plan changes should have been done.
You had 14 days to back out of the deal. Because you did not do so does not mean Verizon did not explain all your options.
You can port out and have Sprint or T-Mobile refund your early termination fees. I read this morning AT&T is also doing this on a limited basis.
Or you can go to Boost mobile or Net10 or Cricket prepaid all you can eat unlimited talk, text and data.
Also look at consumer cellular they may be just what you need.
They range from $10 to $50 check them out.

FTP List search for file in XI JavaMapping
I wonder if anyone has ever done a JavaMap in XI with a FTP List search for e.g. filename*.xml
With the standard FTP URLstring there is no * possible within the filename.
I have not found any documentation on this, how to do a FTP search for filename*.xml within a JavaMap.
This JavaMap works fine for picking up a file with the exact filename:

You should just call the function searchFile(name) with the name of the file you want to search. If it finds one with this name it will return his absolute path, and if he doesn't the desired file he will return null.
If you don't understand anything just ask.
(Note: i have not tested this code, so can be some mistakes, but it think it is almost correct. mmmhh don't now why, but [ & ] appear in my code as < & >. Just replace them.).
