Searching for a Keyword tag alias

My searches work fine as long as I type something that is an actual keyword tag. But I end up with nothing if try to search for a keyword tag alias. Is this a bug or by design?

Thanks,
I should have searched for "synonym" rather than "alias".

  • When viewing a PDF document; cant you search for a keyword anymore?

    Hello (me again lol) prior to 2.2 Software upgrade I recall that when viewing a pdf document I could search for certain keywords; now I cant figure out how.
    First off, again I'm using 2.2 Software on Verizon' HTC Incredible.
    Next up when viewing a pdf I believe its using Adobe Reader.  I have a few options but one thing I cannot find is "search" or even 'go to" (page number)
    I believe Quck Office doesnt pull up any PDFs so I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to search for keywords; thanks

    If you are using the Quick Office Application or the PDF Viewer, make sure both applications are updated to the newest versions.
    You can do that by going to the Android Market Place on the device, then press menu and download, then you can see applications that can be updated.
    To check for updates while using Quick Office, press the Menu button, then select Updates. Quickoffice will automatically check for updates to your software.
    You can search for text strings in your document using Quickword. Switch to Reflow View, then press the Menu button, and tap Search. A text entry field will appear at the top of your document. Enter the text you wish to search for and tap the search icon to the right of the text field. Quickword will highlight all instances of the text you are searching for.
    Copy and paste the link below into your browser's address bar for more information.

  • Easiest way to search for a keyword in over 100 dts packages on a complex SQL 2000 server

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me the easiest way to search for a keyword (e.g. myfilename.txt) in over 100 dts packages on a complex SQL 2000 server please. I've searched the internet for a solution, and there seem to be various third party tools available, etc. However
    ideally I would like to be able to run a block of code which returns the result within query analyser, since this SQL 2000 server is a production server and I'd rather not have to go through change management for investigation purposes.
    Kind Regards,
    Kieran.

  • Searching for photos without tags?

    In  LR4 I have lots of images without tags. How can I search for all of my imported images that do not have tags?
    Thanks.

    I have never made a smart collection. I just mae one with the settings, to match all of the following rules, keywords, and are empty, and I saved it. It now shows up on my Collections panel, and it shows the number 1007 next to it, so I'm assuming that means there are 1007 images without keywords? However, the main window displays "No photos match the filter" What is going on?
    Thanks.

  • Searching for parent keywords only, Aperture 3

    Hello everyone,
    I want to search for images that have top-level keywords only, but not the child keywords. For example, if I have a 'birds' keyword with child keywords in it...
    Birds
    -Bald Eagle
    -Heron
    --Green Heron
    --Blue Heron
    -Pheasant
    ...if I keyword search for 'Birds', it brings up everything else in that birds category.
    Normally this would be fine, but sometimes I don't know the name of birds in my photos, so I just assign them the generic keyword 'birds'. Occasionally, I would like to be able to go back to my 'birds' keyword, and find only those images that haven't been tagged with a deeper-level keyword.
    Is this possible to do? I can't seem to find a way to do it. I appreciate any help.
    -Jeff

    I'm pretty sure Apple has actually improved the handling of parent keywords and the keyword hierarchy since 3.0 came out. It used to not really work at all.
    Now it works as described in this thread. (Search on the parent keyword, and Aperture will find all images tagged with any of the children keywords.) This is, imho, very useful, and requires (I think) only one small user restriction to give Aperture the behavior most seem to expect from a nested (i.e.: hierarchical) keyword structure.
    The "user restriction" is to give a special marker to parent keywords (to identify them as containers of keywords, separate from keywords), and to use these container keywords only as containers (that is, do not apply them to images).
    I prefix all top-level containers with "aa.". This is arbitrary, but it has some reasons to recommend it:
    . it forces the containers to the top of the keyword hierarchy
    . it stands out without making the name harder to read at a glance
    . the period allows one to double-click either the prefix or the suffix to select it in isolation
    . it allows straightforward modification for hierarchy depth (see below).
    In practice (using the example in this thread), the keyword hierarchy might be (as a starting point):
    aa.Animals {top-level category}
    bb.Birds {second-level category}
    cc.Hawks {third-level category}
    HawkUnspecified {child in third-level category}
    HawkRedShouldered {child in third-level category}
    HawkSharpshinned {child in third-level category}
    {Etc.}
    This immediately (afaict) solves several related usage problems. All hawk images show up when images are filtered for "Animals" or "Birds". One can easily search for "all hawks" or a specific hawk. One can easily tag hawks to be specified later, and easily recall those images. All the "Hawk" tags are gathered together alphabetically (as well as hierarchically) -- makes creating filters much easier. The Keyword HUD is much more useful as a reporting tool. (There is an added complexity: the keyword "HawkUnspecified" must be manually removed after the hawk is specified (a good use of a complex Smart Album).)
    Additionally, this system allows for (IME) much easier maintenance of the Keyword list (renaming and moving).
    #1 Keyword hint: use "{Option}+click" in the Filter HUD Keyword Rule to limit the selection to the clicked Keyword. Any time you filter on Keyword and don't get the result you expect, this is the first thing to check.
    For me, Keyword use in Aperture is still very much a work in progress. Suggestions and comments are welcome.

  • Searching for hierarchical keywords

    Hi,
    I'm a newcomer to Aperture, and I have trouble using the hierarchical keywords.
    For example, if I create the keywords Sport->Soccer and Sport->Hockey, and I assign the keywords Soccer and Hockey to some photos, how can I search for the photos carrying the parent keyword 'Sport', which is, according to Aperture documentation, automatically associated with the children keywords ? The keyword 'Sport' doesn't appear in the list of selectable keywords in the Keyword HUD, only the keywords 'Soccer' and 'Hockey' can be selected.
    Can anybody help me ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thierry (Brussels).

    This is a very frequently requested feature, so I would not be surprised if we see it in the next version.
    Meantime, either use the text search, or use a Keyword Keeper:
    http://www.bagelturf.com/aparticles/metadata/keyhigh/index.html
    It relies on the fact that the missing keywords will appear if there is an image in the project that uses them.

  • Searching for multiple keywords

    Is there a way to fine tune a search---e.g. find all the photos with a certain keyword and then select out the ones I have marked with a check mark? When I try this I get all the photos that I ever marked with a check mark, not just the ones with the keyword or search term I've already searched on. I don't see an "advanced search" option with multiple search term options.

    Cynthia:
    Bring up the Keyword search pane and click on the checkmark button and then on the other keyword button. Only the photos with those two keywords will be displayed. The search box will show: √ and second keyword.
    If you use the Option key while selecting a keyword it will omit all photos from the search with that keyword. The search box will display √ and not second keyword.
    Happy New Year
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How do i search for a keyword in a document inside CMS?

    I have several documents uploaded into CMS.
    At runtime, how do i search for a particular keyword in a document which is present inside CMS?
    Any idea would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Nach.

    If you're talking about searching based on the content of the documents uploaded, you will definitely need to integrate with a search engine to do periodic indexing of your content. The two most common search engines used with WLP are Autonomy (a light version is included with WLP) and Apache Lucene (free, highly customizable solution).
    You should find good docs and articles on dev2dev to get started with either one.

  • Search for CS4 Keywords in CS5

    I've recently upgraded to PhotoShop/Bridge CS5.  Most of my keywords were applied to files with CS4.  Now that I'm using CS5, searches don't return all items unless I've actually gone into each directory and CS5 has extracted the files.  Is there any shorter way for CS5 to recognize those CS4 keywords or am I stuck opening each and every directory and letting CS5 extract those images?

    CS4 and CS5 use different cache systems.  For a serch to work you will have to build the CS5 cache.  Do a search with the box checked search non-indexed files.

  • Quick search for multiple keywords

    I haven't seen this anywhere else, and I just discovered it yesterday: If you type in several keywords separated by commas, it will search all the images in the folder/album/project that have all the specified keywords. No need to bring up the search HUD and click on individual keywords. It's been a big time saver for me when trying to narrow down a search.

  • How do I search for a keyword?

    How do I do the equivalent in Lightroom of the keyword search that's in Bridge? LR Find appears to be finding IMAGES that contain a keyword when I specify "Keywords" in the text find, rather than finding the keyword...
    What I'd like is to be able to see all the keywords that contain what I enter, NOT the images that contain that keyword - again just like it works in Bridge...

  • Searching for XML tags using Oracle Text

    I am using full text search to find documents based on a search text. It works fine for pdf, word documents, etc. However for XML documents, searching for a particular tag name does not find anything. Searching for text within tags works fine. Any thoughts?

    Hi
    Try adding the following variable to ucm config.cfg and then see if a new xml checkin returns the result for FT search :
    TextIndexerFilterFormats=xml
    Save the file , restart UCM and then test .
    If the new checkin gets the results as expected then execute Collection Rebuild cycle to have the existing contents as well FT indexed to be searchable (for XML).
    Thanks

  • Search for keyword within musical genre

    Trying to help my wife find a children's song on a particular topic for her kindergarten class. How does one conduct a search for a keyword WITHIN a particular genre? For example, how do I search for "Friday" or "Weekend" within the Children's Music genre?
    Thanks...

    I didn't see an obvious way to do it in the iTunes Store, since Power Search does not have a genre choice.
    At the Amazon.com MP3 Download Store, you can go directly to Children's Music and do the search.
