Searching for a Special Soundc

Hello,
sry for my bad english i'm german
I have a pc with a cheap soundcard, which has a optical sound input.
At this soundcard i use the creative T7900 7. sound system.
Now i want to connect my XBox360 to the soundcard via optical sound input.
But my cheap soundcard only supports stereo if i get the sound signal over optical input.
Is there a Creative soundcard which supports 5. via optical in?
I want to get the 5. signal from my Xbox360 via optical cable in my soundcard and then direct to the creative T7900 sound system which is connected to the soundcard. Is there such a cheap soundcard from creative, or is it impossible?
Thank you?

I plan on creating a data structure of ArrayLists and would like to be able to check if I have come upon another ArrayList in the ArrayList. Perhaps the idea is illogical but this is for fun. Please offer some advice as to do so or otherwise suggest something else. Thank you. This suggests that your ArrayList will hold different types of objects. If so, I strongly urge you to reconsider this as it is fraught with dangers. Instead have your ArrayList hold only one Type of object. This type may be represented by a class, interface, enum, etc.

  • Search for Special Character in  Oracle Text CONTAINS Query

    Hi,
We have to write few query which will search for email id in the Oracle Text.
The Search text will be like <[email protected]> .
So email id should be searched correctly with the @ symbol.
Similarly we want the following special character to be searched in the Text like ",',*

You will need to escape the special characters by either using \ in front of each special character or putting {} around the whole phrase that contains the special characters, as per the online documentation:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/text.111/b28304/cqspcl.htm#CCREF2091

  • Searching for special symbols

Is there any way of searching, in Reader XI (using Windows XP, for example), for special characters such as u-unlaut, e-acute, or the math'Scientific symbol 6,29 (a small black upward-pointing triangle)?

It appears that Reader search is treating accenter characters the same way as un-accented characters; i.e. searching for 'ü' will return the same results as for 'u'.
I don't know about your mathematical symbol; is that a Unicode character?

  • Is it possible to search for strings containing spaces and special characters?

In our RoboHelp project, there are figures with text labels such as Figure 1, Figure 3-2, etc.
When I search for "Figure 3" I get all pages containing "Figure" and "3", even if I surround it in quotes.  Similarly, searching for "3-2" treats the '-' character as a space and searches for all pages containing '3' or '2'.
Is there a way to search for strings containing spaces and special characters?

In that case I think the answer is no if you are using the standard search engine. However I believe that Zoom Search does allow this type of searching. Check out this link for further information.

  • Script to search for special data in folder

    Hi,
I use several folders, which have several data called .txt at the end. Some of the folder have no .txt datas and some folder have one or two of .txt datas.
I want to write a script which makes it possible for me to search for the .txt datas in the folders and let me know the Name of the data.
At the moment, I have no idea how to search in folders for special data.
Maybe somebody of you know how I could programme this code?
Thank you very much for your help.
    Best regards,
    Mosquito

    Hello Mosquito,
There is no Script required to do what you are trying to do based on my understanding of your explanation.
You just need to follow these two steps:
    1. Add ALL the directories you wish to search for you *.TXT files to the DataFinder Search Areas, be selecting a grey folder in the NAVIGATOR, right-clicking the folder and then selecting "Add Search Area ...". This will ass the grey folder to the "Search Areas" = Yellow folders on top the the tree view in the "My DataFinder" view of the NAVIGATOR.
    2. In the NAVIGATOR panel, find the text box on top of the file system hierarchy view, and type "*.txt" into the <Enter search text> field as shown in the screen shot below. Press the "Search" button to the right of the text field, and you will get a list of all *.txt files that are contained within your yellow search area directories.
That's it. No scripting required ...
Let me know if that helps.

  • How to search for brackets in wildcards?

Is there any way to search for ALL characters (including punctuation, dashes, and spaces) that are within brackets [ ], including the brackets? For example, after wildcard searching, I would like ALL of  [test1123 abc 7.77]  or [aaa 3_1 abc 7.77] to be highlighted (including the brackets) so that I could make them as conditional text.
What is the proper wildcard search string that I should enter? Thanks.

    zeedale,
There is no simple, one-shot solution from within FrameMaker. The Wildcard option does not give you a full-fledged regular expression search engine, although that would be nice. The official explanation of wildcard character options is here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FrameMaker/9.0/Using/WSd817046a44e105e21e63e3d11ab7f7862b-7ff6 .html
One thing could be more precise in the docs: * is for one or more word characters, like | stands for one or more non-word characters.
To achieve your goal I would suggest to do as follows:
To find all one-word instances, search for \[*\] - you have to use \[ for each literal [ because the brackerts are special characters as soon as the Wildcard option is selected
To find two-word instances, search for \[*|*\], etc.

  • Why won't Adobe X search for hyphens?

I'm using Adobe X with Windows 7 to proof fiction for a publishing firm.  I would like to be able to search for words at the end of the lines where there is a word break but Adobe X will not let me search for those.
For example, I found in the text I'm reading the word animals and it is at the end of the line and is broken out like this:
    ani-
    mals.
I would like to search for ani- and see if there are more occurances like this so I can make sure I catch all broken out words to see if they are done correctly, but if I search for that hypen, it won't bring up this example in the results (or any other words at the end of lines that are broken).  If I copy and paste ani- into the search box it won't paste the hypen at the end.
Now, If I manually type in the hypen it won't search for the right kind of hyphen.  It always leaves out in the results the ones I need to look at the most, which are broken words with hypens at the end of the lines.
Is this some sort of "special character" that I'm searching for?  If so, how do I search for it?  Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Hi. As a workaround you can enable "Always use native photo browsers"  in the PS Touch settings. It's listed under "Preferences" -> "Access Local Photos setting". See attached screenshot

  • Search for text in PDF binary

    Hello experts,
by using a SAP BI tool we generate reports in File format. SAP standard do some generating and give back an internal table with filename and file content in binary form.
Now we would like to search in this PDF binary for an special text or string to use them for changing filename.
Is there any way to do that? Every idea and hint is welcome.
    Best regards,
    Peter

Now we would like to search in this PDF binary for an special text or string to use them for changing filename. Is there any way to do that?
Based on your posting it sounds a bit like you're doing ABAP processing. However, I'll ignore that for now and just say that in the Java environment I have had good experience with the Java Library [iText PDF|http://itextpdf.com/]. I'm not sure what SAP offers in that area, but they must have something, because [TREX|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/a4/929d4206b70931e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] "understands" PDF (though that doesn't mean that you have a nice API for parsing PDFs).
You probably investigated this already, but I'd take a look at possibilities to hook in before (or at the time) the PDF gets generated (might be easier to craft and export a filename there). Thanks to the [enhancement framework|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2/helpdata/en/94/9cdc40132a8531e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] you usually have quite a few ways to get things done...
Note that even if you're able to read a PDF, it doesn't necessarily mean that you can parse it the way you want. A silly example would be scanned pages, where the page is stored as an image and at best the scanner software runs some OCR (with possibly buggy results) to provide capabilities for searching the PDF. In your case that's probably not an issue, but still the question might be if the information you're looking at is structured enough to get it back...

  • Search for text in PDF by VBA with only Adobe Reader installed

My problem is widely known and frequenty posted, for instance:
"Can anyone help me to open and search for a specific text string in a PDF document, return a true or false indicator (and nothing else)?"
The answers mostly refer to and include
      Set gApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
which, as I understand, works only with a certain level of Adobe Acrobat being installed.
    My question now:
I want to give this type of functionality (via an MSAccess Form, i.e. populate a ComboBox with PDF filenames which answer YES to certain text occurences)  to - say 20 - users in my company who have Adobe Reader 9.1 installed and not more.
Bying this number of Adobe Acrobat licenses for just this purpose would be a heavy overkill which I just can't afford.
Any suggestions? many thanks in advance.

    Hi All,
A strange request from one of our developers that I have not come across before.
Is there a way to search for a percent character (%) in a string and also use the wildcard special character (%)?

When I do this all records are returned.

  • Searching for String literals in a ResultSet

Hi! I am currently working in a little project in which one functionallity should be the possibility to search for customers over a special dialog. This dialog consists of a JTextField and a JTable. Now when the user enters e.g. 'a' in the textfield all the customers which include an 'a' at the beginning of their name should be displayed in the JTable. When the user enters a 'b' addtionally all users which fit the condition 'ab' are shown. Currently I requery the DB every time a key is pressed. But this is not very performant over the network. Is there a way to store a buffered ResultSet in RAM and make queries on this ResultSet?
    Thx

...but there must be a easier way to deal with it!Either you have all the data in the GUI or you don't. If you have it there then you have to get all of it. And then do something with it. If you don't get it all, then you are going to have to do a query each time. There is no other solution.
You could do a partial solution, for example do the first query after they type the first letter and then after that handle the data yourself.
(Keep in mind that this sort of GUI is 'really cool' but generally serves no pratical purpose particularily for large businesses. Day to day work doesn't support such usage.)
