Searching for event on calendar?

i just switched from the palm and on the palm - i could do a search and it would let me search for a meeting on the blackberry- if i had a meeting with susan- i could search susan and it would give me a list of all future and past appointments i had with her.
can i do the same thing on my blackberry? it would make life alot easier.

If you select the search icon it will let you select where you want to search, messages, calendar, address book, memopad, or tasks.

  • Search for events in the past

Is there a way to search for events in the past? If not, is there another calendar application with this feature that would be able to sync with my iPod Touch? This feature is one that I must have. I apologize if I come off as whining but my Palm calendar/address book was able to do this.
    Thx

    Hi helenhopelouise,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The search feature within the Calendar app should show all events, past and present.   First, check to see if you are syncing All Events in your Calendar app.  Tap on the Settings app on your Home Screen.  Then choose Mail, Contacts Calendars.  Scroll down to the Calendar section to see your options.
Next, try the "Spotlight Search" of all of the data on your iPhone to see if the calendar event you are looking for appears.
Finally, try quitting all of your open apps and restarting and/or resetting your iPhone.

  • How to search for events that collide?

Anyone now a way to find (search for) events, in calenders, that collide?

    Hi Lasse,
I hope you don't mind an Applescript solution to your problem. I'm assuming all your events are held in one calendar.
The script here will ask for the calendar name, check all future events in that calendar and highlight any that clash.
Try out the script by pasting the text below into a new Script Editor window (Applications>Applescript>Script Editor) and pressing "Run". If you want to keep it, save it as file format "application".
    Hope this helps.

  • Searching for a particular Calendar in iCal

How can I run a search for all the events in a particular calendar. I want to be able to see them all in one place. One example for when I need it is to see if one particular calendar has any entries in it.

    Hi Gon Paran,
Uncheck all your calendars on the left in iCal, then check the one you are interested in. To uncheck all calendars at once Cmd-Click one calendar's checkbox. Then to show all the events in that calendar, do a search for a single quote ( i.e. " ), this should show all the events in the visible calendar in a list.
    Best wishes

  • Searching for event names in imovie 11

I have iMovie 11.  I have hundreds if not thousands of events, covering 14 years.  I'd like to
    1) Search for a particular event or
    2) Search for all clips in a particular date range, regardless of which event they are in.
I am surprised that I can do this in Aperture and iPhoto, but can't do this in iMovie.

Anyone out there who can help me out?
I only want to know the experiences of other fellow developers.
Help(even if you are not sure) would be really appreciated!

  • Searching for events in iPhoto

I have lots of events imported from my Mac.  How can I search for them by name?

How can I search for them by name?
There is no search function for event names or album names, sorry. Flag or tag the the photos in the event you are currently working with, so that they will appear in the "Flagged" album or a custom "tagged" album,  see:  Flag, tag, hide photos

  • Not getting alerts for events in calendar.

I add an event in Google calendar and I see it appear on my iphone calendar. However, no alert appears for the event. I have an iphone 4 with the latest iOS 5.0
This is what I have tried so far...
    1) In Settings/Mail-Contacts-Calendar, I have Default Alert Time set to "At time of event."
    2) Time Zone Support is on and is set to the same time zone as my Google Calendar.
    3) The Notification Center is turned on for the calendar, set to alert style "Alerts."
    4) When I make an event, and it shows up on my calendar, I look at the details and see that it is listed as having no alerts. I don't want to have to manually add an iphone alert for every event.  Isn't that what adding a Default Alert time is supposed to do?
    Please, any suggestions will help.
    Thanks

Actually, not quite ditto. I am not using gCal. I have a CalDAV server, with two calendars served, my wife's and mine. Each of us is a delegate of the other. On iCal on her computer, she has "ignore alerts" set for all my calendars, and this works. However, she gets the alerts on her iphone. I cannot find an option to "ignore alerts" for the iPhone calendar app. What am I missing here?

  • Can't search for events in iCal

I always thought that I could search for an event in iCal by typing a text into the Search space and then would get a list of all events with that text; at least that's what I think did happen in the past.
If I do that now, no matter which text I type I do get a table with Date, Type, and Title below the calendarr, but with no events listed in it. ??? Did I inadvertently change some settings which prevent events to be listed?
Any advice would be highly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Veit

Are you saying that the search in iCal (Leopard) will only work when Spotlight has indexed your computer and the iCal events box is checked? That means that iCal is not searching independently of Spotlight, but really it is using the "Spotlight" index/database?
Was this true in TIGER? - I just started my PBG4 which is TIGER and the seach is quick - includes everything if nothing requested. OK it has SpotLight, too-- if I UNtick Events & To Do items in TIGER will I then have no search ability in iCal??? (I guess I could try that and the re-tick it later??)
My MB with Leopard is actually updating right now, and says it has 5 hours left - since I added my HD to the list then removed it (to get it to generate a new index). So in 5 hours I can re-test to see if iCal can search (and find something!) --in Leopard.
Would be great to have a true LIST along with the DAY-WEEK-MONTH tabs in iCal-- we have that with my iPod Touch-- OK it's LIST - DAY - MONTH on the iPod - no "week" but I prefer that to what I have now on the iCal 3.0.6 (Leopard).
Comments welcome - and my little ALARM icon/notifier on the event itself is GONE in iCal Leopard- used to like that in 2.0.5 - could see which events had alarms and see if I'd forgotten to set one. How to get THAT back???
    Best regards,

  • Get-WinEvent is very very slow - More thant 45 minutes searching for event 4729 in a 1 million event log (512 MB size) - Super Hardware

Someone removed a user from a group, we´re tryingo to track down, who made it
    I´m using:
    get-eventlog -LogName security -ComputerName SERVERNAME | Where-Object {$_.EventID -eq 4729} | Export-Csv -Path c:\temp\SERVERNAME_4729.log -NoTypeInformation
    or
    get-eventlog -LogName security -ComputerName SERVERNAME | Where-Object {$_.EventID -eq 4729}
The DC have 4 GB of RAM, 4 vCPUs in a Dell PE R420 with SAS 15K disks, it´s very fast hardware/response time
The DC have more than 955.000 events in the last 15 days, 512 MB file size for the .EVTX
The search takes more than 45 minutes to finish
It´s acceptable? I have the felling that this procedure will take no more than 5 minutes to do the search and grab the results

    This will be much faster:
get-eventlog -LogName security -ComputerName SERVERNAME -InstanceID 4729 |
         Export-Csv -Path c:\temp\SERVERNAME_4729.CSV -NoTypeInformation
The method you used returns every record in the log then filters.  This method filters the remote search remotely and in the query.  It only returns records that have that ID.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Different colors for category or calendar

Sun Java(tm) System Calendar Server 6.3-2.01 (built Jul 10 2007)
    SunOS mailstore-1-2 5.10 Generic_Patch i86pc i386 i86pc
Is it possible to identify the categories of events by different colors instead of the #FFFFCC ?
It will be easier to have a global view of your calendar if the meeting has a different background color that the dinner.
If not, should it be possible to associate different background color for events by calendar.
    Thanks

If not, should it be possible to associate different background color for events by calendar. In short - no. Neither of the current calendar web-interfaces offer this capability to my knowledge.
There are a few items you could use to colourise/shade an event over:
-> Calendar (e.g. Primary, secondary, subscribed resource, subscribed user etc.)
-> Event type (business, personal, holiday etc.)
    -> Free/busy state (Free, busy, busy-tentative etc.)
-> Invitation state (accepted, rejected, tentative)
The new interface (although this is subject to change) appears to allow different background colours for events by calendar in much the same way as the current Thunderbird Lightning plugin.

    Shane.

  • How to search for an event in calendar application

Can someone provide steps to search for an event in the calendar application? I had tried using the magnifying glass option on the phone but this immediately takes me to the internet. I have tried using the edit button but there is no search options.  I tried doing this while the calendar application was open.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Possible to Search for a Calendar

Somehow I ended up with Calendars named "Untitled", "Untitled 2" and "Untitled 3". I don't know how these showed up and don't know what events could be associated with them. Don't want to just delete these Calendars without knowing what they have in them.
Is it possible to search for all events within a particular Calendar? Or maybe organize/sort events by Calendar?

    smilingdog,
Enter the " character in the iCal Search field which is located in the upper right hand corner of the iCal window. When you do that you will be presented with a results pane in the bottom of the iCal window. The results pane will have four columns at the top (Calendar/Date/Type/Title). Click on the "Calendar" column to see the results organized by specific calendars.
Alternately, you can (⌘ + click) on any calendar in the "CALENDARS" source pane to deselect all calendars, then the calendar that you want to display, and enter the " character in the search field. That will display only the entries associated with that particular calendar.
As a side note, the search field has a magnifying glass icon with a small down arrow which can be used to specify what items to search in.
    ;~)

  • I have a iphone 5. How do I search for a event from 2013 under search? I do have "all events" selected

I have a iphone 5. How do I search for a event from 2013 under search? I do have "all events" selected

I would check, but I believe I have read that the calendar only lets you search back in the current year. You might find additional information about that in the User Guide. http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
What happens if you go back to a month in 2013, do you see a date with any events in it? I'm not saying the calendar is deleting data, just that you cannot search earlier than the current year.

  • Is there a way to search for new events in ical

i am after a way to search for all new events within a certain parameter in ical....so you can see which events have dropped into your calendar recently...not sure if this is an ical feature or automator. thanks. Simon

What Anjaneai also means to say is that Adobe has neglected to provide a Usage button for variables as they have for Advanced Actions and Library objects so that you can see exactly where they are used.  This is a BIG problem when you have a lot of variables and AAs to search through.
By all means log an enhancement request and add your voice asking for this VERY necessary feature.
