Searching for in-car dashboard nano mount - car kit

Posted this question in the iPhone forum as well...
I've got an iPhone and my sister has a nano. We're both trying to find a way we can have them sitting on the dashboard or console of our car. Don't want a big bulky device, but something simple. Found a few online...anyone that's purchased any of these before and has some comments good or bad would be appreciated...or if there's anything else you think would work. Looking for something unobtrusive and obviously the cheaper the better but still good quality

Do you have free cup holders in the car? There are a number of iPod holders on the market that drop into cup holders so you don't have to attach anything to your dashboard or worry about a suction cup coming loose while driving.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the proclipusa website and entered in the model number like you said. The site was just a bit confusing for me at the beginning.
I think I'm going to go ahead and try The Smacker first seeing as it's cheaper and seems a little less intrusive. I figure if it doesn't work then I'm only out $10. If it's not what I'm looking for then I'll go with the proclipsusa for a bit more price, but what seems to be well reviewed.
I'll let you guys know how The Smacker turns out.

The only one I find so far is Proclip and there is not a chance I'm paying for that. Their separate mount and clip system just seems to me to be a way to gouge you twice. You have to buy the nano clip for $25 which by itself is useless until you buy the dash mount to connect it to for another $30. Add in $10 shipping and you are paying $75 for 2 pieces of about 10 cents worth of injection molded plastic and some adhesive tape. Gee can I please?
Anybody have a better solution?

Can you connect from your phone to another BT device, not the car? If you haven't ,I'd try a reset of the phone by holding the home and power button down. Next step would be to talk to your dealership and see if they have any ideas. Sometimes software can either get updated on iOS or on the vehicle and it can cause problems. Every dealership seems to have a go-to person that handles issues like this. Getting to know him or her well and getting their direct phone number will pay big dividends. A device restore might be necessary, but if it were me I'd talk to the dealership first.

I have iphone 6 with ios 8.1.1. The bluetooth pairs with my sony car radio and everything works fine. However, the iphone won't stop searching for other devices.

Can't control iphone via car dashboard anymore

I have a 2014 Hyundai Accent that has an iPod USB connector. Until about a few days ago I was able to play things using the dashboard of the car. All of a sudden now, when I plug in the iPhone nothing will play. I have to manually press Play on the iPhone itself to get it to play or switch songs (as you might imagine this is very bad as I can't do this while driving). If I press the "Seek" button on the dashboard, it will skip through the music but it won't actually play it, and when I select a Podcast or a song, it will display in the dashboard console but won't actually play unless I start it from the iPhone itself. I can control the volume and change tracks but it seems like it's not recognizing it.
This doesn't seem to be a thing with the car, since it was working fine up until a few days ago, but I'm not sure if I accidentally hit something or turned some feature on/off on the phone that's stopping this.
Anyone have any ideas?

I understand that you are unable to control your iPod via your car controls. I have experienced this issue myself and forcing all open applications, restarting your phone may resolve this issue. It depends on your car stereo. On the JVC we have you can select either "Head Mode" or "iPod Mode" when you're plugged into the USB port. Ipod Mode lets you select the songs from the iPod although the radio still controls the volume. I believe the Alpine I have does the same thing.

Searching For Dashboard Widgets

Hi,
How do you search for Dashboard Widgets on Apple's website? Since they changed the site this year, I've found it very hard to find widgets which I know for a fact are listed on the site. For example, if I type into the Search bar in the top-right corner "tomatometer", I get no results. The only way I can see of finding the Tomatometer widget on Apple.com is to manually browse through the Widget Browser.
If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

You have it backwards. You enter the car BT system key code into the phone when initailly pairing the devices. Consult your car sound system manual to find the code.

Did you cause the nick? Or did it just appear one day? There are reports of the retina screen having exploding pixels which leaves a hole in the screen that can be felt when you rub your finger across it. If that is what happened then it should be covered under the warranty. If you caused the nick then it is not covered and the fix will be very expensive, somewhere in the $1000 range.

All you can do is call the support center and discuss the problem with them. There may be no way they can expedite the replacement, but you can ask.

Hi Amol,
We have downloaded and setup the BI Apps to see what they are all about. I personally exported a report of all the requests in the latest version, 7.9.6, and there is nothing affiliated with "talent".

HT1237 Searching for an EFI Firmware update to enable Lion Internet Recovery on MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010)

My Mid-2010 Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch started having random kernel panics lately (more than 1 month of random kernel panics now), usually associated with request such as "open new tab in Safari" etc.
Since I installed 2x4GB RAM modules from Crucial when I bought my MBP (they are +- 2 years old now) and also exchanged my DVD-drive for an extra SSD that now runs the system (fully updated 10.7.4) I have a feeling that those kernel panics might be HW related.
I wanted to run Apple Hardware Test but found out that it is no longer supported on Lion. Since I don't have any optical drive to install AHT from (also I don't have the CDs with me atm), I found out that I can install an EFI Firmware update that enables internet-based (?) AHT.
At http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4904# , the link from MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) links to MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.6 which is for Early 2010 models only and doesn't allow me to run the installation process. I'm looking for an EFI update to enable Apple Hardware Test on my Mid-2010 Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch.
Is there an update that can do this? Is there a wrong hyperlink on Apple page or am I searching for a wrong update?
Also, even though this should probably be in a separate topic, can anyone please point me to the right direction for a good Apple Kernel Panic how-to-read-those topic?
