Searching in History is incredibly good!

I had not discovered that if you discover things on the web, often you will need them three weeks later.
In Safari Settings, I set my Remove objects from History at Manual.
Before I had not discovered that I can search for something in the History (down to the right). So all things that I usually lose due to forgetting Bookmarking them, I now somewhat easy can find again.
Superb!!

Good advice, I use it a lot.
You know that Safari for Windows hasn't been updated in almost 2 years : there are safer web browsers to use.

Firefox sync creates duplicate search/form history results

I have Firefox synced on 3 PCs and a laptop. Some of the sites I visit, sync creates multiple duplicates in form/search boxes. Two that I know of for sure are outlook/hotmail (the box you enter your e-mail address) and my bank website (where I enter my account name). For example, I would see 2 or 3 options to select the same e-mail address in the dropdown history box. If I go to delete all but one of them, it disappears completely the next time so I have zero options.
This also only happens on some of my computers. Some of them only have one option (which is how it should be).
Minor issue, but it's kind of bothersome.

I don't use any sync add ons. The add ons I use are flash video downloader and custom new tab.
The duplicates are only on my 'other' devices, not my main device (the one I use the most and the one I created my sync account on). I'll have to wait until I get time to go on my other devices to take a screenshot. For now, this is what I mean. Here is the outlook/hotmail sign in page:

When I press the down arrow in the account name box, I see 2-3 entries of the same e-mail address. Again, on my main PC, I would only see one entry of my e-mail address (like I should). This also happens on my bank website.
When I try to delete the duplicates and only keep one entry, the next time I visit the page, they're all gone. So it seems like there's some bug in the search/form history sync.

I adopted qdbm and submitted hyperestraier in AUR, so you can enable full-text search frature by installing Hyper Estraier from AUR and rebuilding Kazehakase using srcpac or yaourt.
1. Install QDBM and Hyper Estraier from AUR. The easiest way is using yaourt. (If you prefer not to use yaourt, download tarball and do makepkg && pacman -U manually.)
yaourt -S qdbm hyperestraier
2. Rebuild Kazehakase using srcpac.
srcpac -Sb kazehakase
Of cource you can rebuild Kazehakase using yaourt.
yaourt -Sb kazehakase
You don't have to modify configure option in PKGBUILD of Kazehakase, because "--enable-hyper-estraier" is implied by default. If Hyper Estraier is installed successfully, you'll get "Hyper Estraier: yes" in configure messages.
3. Configure Kazehakase. To enable full-text search in history, run Kazehakase and go Edit>Preference>General and change UI Level to "Expert" and apply settings. Next, go Edit>Preference>History and set Search engine name to "hyper-estraier" and restart Kazehakase. Then you'll see "History Search" box next to "Internet Search" box.

"ctxsrv" is no longer supported at version 10.1.
Instead PARAMETERS clause has SYNC option, and you can specify ON COMMIT for this.
If you created the database with DBCA and chose Oracle Text option, then you have no need to perform any further operations to configure Oracle Text.

Search form history does not save in latest version of Gmail but does in older version

In the latest version of Gmail, no search form history will save, but it does in the old version of Gmail. I have checked all clear history settings and they are all correct, as it does not delete any other form history including the old version of Gmail. This only occurs in the new version, which is why I've continued to use the older version. I have also checked for plugin conflicts and there are none. I'm on WinXP-SP3 using the latest 3.6.6 version of Firefox.

Gmail may use autocomplete="off" for that form to prevent saving form data.

Links are coming up as blank page saying search bookmarks & history

Recently when I go to a website/example Amazon and there is a link that I click on for further information I am looking for/ the link pops up a white blank page with Mozilla Fox at the top of the blue bar and right under it there is a message "Search Bookmarks & History" and beside this message just before the word Search there is an icon that looks like a page of paper with the top right corner dogeared. I am having difficulty about 75% of the time when I try to go to a link that I need to get to. I am sure it has something to do with the Menu Bar /the Bookmarks / but I don't know how to fix this. Please help.

In the default php.ini is set open_basedir which limits work with php only to few directories (and directories bellow them). There is set /srv/http, /home,/tmp and /usr/share/pear by default.
To allow your vhost you should add /data/www or set empty value.

Clear Search bar history

Hi everyone, Does anyone know how to clear the search bar history on BTYahoo.
If I click on the search box every search I've entered comes up underneath!

This resets to when Ie was first installed so I have to reload all my favourites.

Don't right-click on the icon, right-click on the search box, this way you can "Clear Search History".

Search Safari History iOS 7

Is there a way to search my browsing history in Safari? iOS 7, iPad 3.
I know I visited a page last week... I should have bookmarked it, but didn't.

When you type in the address bar on iPad (or iPhone), Safari is searching your history for matches. I believe it uses both the title of the web page and the URL stored in history. It does not save the full contents of web pages in history, so there is no way for it to search that.
Note that in Private Browsing mode, history (and bookmarks) are not searched when typing into the address bar, so you need to disable Private Browsing mode in order to get the benefits of history search.

I think it will be helpful for you to know that the History page to which I refer has beneath it such categories as Tags, All Bookmarks and Bookmarks Toolbar.

I am unable to search my history in the Search History feature as when i type a term the history list goes blank labeling "no items." Is there a reason for this and a way i can search my history to find specific sites and content??

When i try to search for specific sites whether to find something or group together a list of sites from the same site, etc, after i type in a term in the Search History box, nothing appears. When i click the empty area it says "no item selected" at the bottom. However i can still search my bookmarks. Just wondering if there's a way to fix this.

How can I turn off instant search in History?

When I use the search function of History to find an old page, it significantly slows down my computer since the instant search feature is on (like Google instant). Most of the time, Firefox just freezes for a few seconds. So, how do I disable this annoying feature in Firefox History?

To the best of my knowledge, you can't disable it. You can go to Settings>Spotlight Search and uncheck all of the boxes this way if you pull it down, you can't accidentally click anything. Other than that you can't do it without jailbreaking. Hope this helps.

You can remove passwords in the Password Manager:
Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"

How do I see the date and time of my searches in History?

Eg. The times of my searches on 1 September. I have tried - Show All History - Views, but no option for time or date seems to exist. Apologise in advance for stupidity.

On Mac you would have to use SQLite Manager and use a specific query to see all history entries for a specific link or time frame.

Safari search bar history

In the new Safari, when I begin to type a search query, the box below the search field suggests websites, bookmarks, and previous history. I really do not want people to see my previous history when they start to type a search query. There doesn't seem to be a way to prevent this without being in private browsing.
Does anyone have any tips?

Are you referring to the new colors of iOS 7? If that's the case then there is no way to change it.
To clear your History:
1 Tap the Bookmark icon (the one next to the cloud and + icons.
2 Tap Bookmarks > Select History
3 Hit Clear (Notice the Clear icon at the bottom).
