SEARCHING KEYWORDS

Hello,
I have an image library (actually its for the office) of around 10,000 images (tiff,jpg,png,psd and raw) and I got the task of archiving them (i.e adding keywords, renaming according to job and photographer.  After this step designers will need to be able to do a search in bridge and retrieve the desired image.
Well i treated a bunch of images: assigned various keywords to 1 image e.g beach, aerial, seychelles, nature.  The issue is when i do a search only one keyword is searchable at one time. I can search for keyword "beach" only and not "beach + aerial".  Is there a workaround for this.  Right now its kind of a pain for the designers if they can search only one keyword. They end up with 100's of results and it is quite time consuming just to find that exact image.
Hope you understand what I am taking about ... might be confusing.
Thanks.

You should use the find command in the menu Edit or choose cmd+F
Inhere you have a lot more options and with the plus icon you can add more

  • Does Bridge only Filter/Search Keywords in one folder at a time?

    It seems the "Filter" feature in CS6 Bridge will only search keywords in a single opened folder. What if I have multiple folders for image downloads, one per day, in a parent folder for the month, or even a year? Can I use Bridge to filter images in a folder containing other folders?
    If not, is there another search strategy I can use to quickly filter images in multiple folders? Thanks.

    You can select a root folder, and then select Show Items from Subfolders from the View menu. That adds all contained files to the Content panel, from which you can filter.
    If you need more control, you can use Find instead, where you can also do AND/OR operations too, but takes a little more patience.

  • How can I disable awesomebar search/keyword suggestions on FF 3.6?

    I am on FF 3.6. I'm trying to find a way to disable the AwesomeBar search/keyword suggestions. I have gone through tools -> options -> privacy -> location bar. I have tried setting the location bar set to show only history, bookmarks, or even none, but it still shows keyword search suggestions. How can I disable this?
    I have also tried from about:config, setting maxrichresults to 0. Again, that is not what I'm looking for. I want it to show history and bookmarks, but I do not want keyword search suggestions.

    I'm pretty sure the poster doesn't want to disable the keyword search functionality. What they want is for keyword searches to work, but just not be displayed (or at least not displayed as the automatic first option) on the list of location bar suggestions when typing a new URL.
    In their words, "I want it to show history and bookmarks, but I do not want keyword search suggestions."
    That was how keyword search bookmarks worked in FF3.5, if I recall, and I too would like that behavior back. I haven't found any way to train the awesomebar to not show me keyword search bookmarks.

  • How do I restore my preferred icon for .htm and .html files? search keyword axolotl

    When I made Firefox 3.6.2 my default browser, it changed the icons for my .htm & .html files to the fox&globe symbol - how do I change back to my old red dragon symbol? Folder options doesn't work, the icon for the file type changes in folder options, but has no effect on the icon displayed by Windows XP Explorer. Changing registry entries for DefaultIcon from ...\firefox.exe,1 to ....\mozilla.ico also failed, the WxExplorer icons changed to a generic symbol. Thanks, [email protected]

    With the help of information from user, ptressel, in [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1032154#answer-673322 a post here about the existence of sessionstore.js when version 33 was released], I was able to easily recover my tabs and tab groups as follows:
    # close Firefox and, perhaps, allow a few seconds (30s?) for any final closing of files;
    # check to see if you have a sessionstore.js file in your profile folder, named like the one I documented in my original post above;
    # if it is not timestamped prior to the discovery of your problem, open the sessionstore-backups folder;
    # check if the recovery.js file is suitably timestamped and, if not, the recovery.bak.
    # At this point, you are likely to find that none of them are prior to your problem occuring. If so, open your backups of this folder and go through steps 2-4 to find a file prior to your problem occuring.
    # When you find a file, copy it to the root of your current profile folder and name it, "sessionstore.js"
    # Open Firefox. Mine opened up as desired.
    This is a Windows solution. Sorry I can't comment on other platforms, but I'd bet that as this is just a file copy and renaming, it is likely the same.
    For Windows users, you may find you need to sign out and login as an administrator in order to access the backups. You need not logoff your standard account, but do have Firefox closed as described above.
    Hope that helps.

  • Ineffective Keyword Search (keyword.URL) changes in 23+

    Refering to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/963439, closing this thread is not sufficient for us users. Please let us vote about this change, or most people (like me) will downgrade or use addons that will disable this "security" feature.
    Please make a better solution, or chrome or another browser will do.

    The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.
    You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.
    * Keyword Search: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/keyword-search/
    Another possibility is to disable keyword search (keyword.enable = false) and use a (one letter) keyword search for searching via the location bar.<br />
    You can add a keyword to an installed search engine via Manage Search Engines (click the search engines icon on the search bar) and you can add a keyword to a bookmark in the Bookmarks Manager (Show All Bookmarks).
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_keyword_searches
    That will allow to switch easily between search engines when you search via the location bar and there also is no problem with a one word search.

  • Search keywords on Advanced Search Box in SharePoint 2010 cleared on Search Result Page

    I migrated SharePoint 2007/Windows 2003/MS SQL 2005 to SharePoint2010/Windows 2008 R2/MS SQL 2008 system.  New system does not work just like old system and requires some configuration changes.  The search keyword
    on Advanced Search Box is appended to browser address bar instead of remain static in the search field on Search Result page.  Anyone has fix for this so it will work just like SP 2007 version?

    does it give you search results ? Can you provide us the exact string when keyword jumps to browser address bar ? Also provide browser and OS versions.

  • Searching keywords in libraries

    I've noticed you can only search keywords in events, not libraries.  Is there a work around or another way to search in a library?
    For example,  my library is called Zoo.  Events are Spring Break, Lion Move, Snake Operation, etc.  I want to be able to find in the library , for example, "elephant".  Is it possible?

    Dark1 wrote:

    Just for others reading this, either way of selecting for search – library or multiple events – should work.

  • Highlight only Searched keywords in a Datagrid

    Hi
    I have a datagird and a searchfunction wich shows only datagridrows containthe searched Keyword.
    Now i would like to highlight the Searched Keyword in the datagird, i can get acces to the row or cell contains the keyword and also highlight them(for example like this: http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/tomershamam/archive/2009/08/27/wpf-datagrid-search-and-highlight.aspx
    But how can i highlight only the keyword like google or opera-browser etc.?
    Thanks very much.

    Hi Negada,
    For that purpose you probably need to use converter where you'll be able to crate "colorized" string.
    To create such text you have to deal with InlineCollection.
    Please take a look here, where you ll be able to become familiar with such functionality:

  • Search Keywords

    So I just got Google Analytics working on my iWeb site and I'm now wanting to be sure that the site is loaded with all of the relevant search keywords. Will the text alone in the site's HTML do this for me? Should I make a hidden page full of keywords just to be sure I pick up any relevant words, which may not happen to be in my website text? Is there any way of strengthening the power of these words through some sort of web widget? Any advice?
    Thanks!

    You definitely DO NOT use hidden text on your site. If you do, search engines may detect this and ban your site from your search results.
    You do want to include your keywords in your website content. If there are keywords that are important to you, you should include them in the following ways in order for them to have more prominence.
    1) Web page titles. This is what appears at the top of your web browser. Make this unique for each page and contain your most important keywords.
    2) When linking to other pages on your web site. This is called anchor text and should include your most important keywords. For example, instead of writing;
    "click here" for more information
    Where click here is the linked text. You would write something like;
    Learn more about our "blue widgets"
    Where blue widgets (replaced with your keywords) would be the linked text.
    3) Bolding important keywords is also used by some people to try an emphasis certain text. Don't overdue this however.
    4) Anchor text from third party web sites linking to your web site should include your important keywords. This is hard to control but very important to have.

  • I'd like a search keyword-based RSS Feed for iOS apps. Possible?

    It's great that Apple offers a variety of RSS feeds for the iTunes store. I'd like to be able to further hone the feed to particular search-based keywords. For example, limit the top paid apps to just those about dogs or some other long-tail (I did NOT mean that as a pun :-) ) keyword term. Is this possible?
    Alternatively, if one could convert Apple JSON-based searches into an RSS feed, that would do the trick, too. An example JSON feed:

  • IWeb Blog Entries - search, keywords, and categories?

    Hi all
    I've been looking around these forums and elsewhere for help on this, but not having much luck...
    I'm wanting to put a search box on to my iWeb site. I am not a MobileMe customer and therefore realise the default search field in iWeb will not work. Does anyone know of one/a way that will allow me to:
    - Search blog entries
    - Add keywords to blog entries created in iWeb
    - View blog entries that have been assigned to a particular category (e.g. A 'holidays' topic would show all the entries with the holiday keyword, the 'work' topic would show all entries with work...etc.)
    All of this would need to be integrated in to my site, and ideally not be done on a 3rd-party site.
    Any help would really be appreciated. Like I said, I am not a MobileMe user and would be publishing the site on my own webspace.
    Hope someone out there can help!
    Thanks, and happy holidays!

  • How to search keywords by synonym (Lightroom CC)

    Hi
    I'm using a hierarchical keywording for animal taxonomy, it is based on the "official" latin names, vernacular names in various languages are included as synonyms.
    Is there a way to search for keywords using their synonyms? The search box seems to be limited to only the keyword and does not look for synonyms.
    Thanks
    Chris

    Chris,
    Just to clarify what LR does do: When you search by keyword in the Library Filter bar or with a smart collection, LR does search synonyms. However, as you noticed, when you use the Filter Keywords box in the Keyword List panel, synonyms are ignored.  Also, you can't enter a synonym into the Keywording panel (if you try it, LR will silently create a new keyword for you).  It appears that LR 2 had the ability to filter the keyword list by synonyms and use synonyms to apply keywords, but that functionality was removed in LR 3.
    Please add your vote and opinion to this topic in the official Adobe feedback forum: Lightroom: Find keyword by synonym
    My Any Tag plugin does handle synonyms the way you want, but it was designed for a particular workflow and may not be to your taste.

  • Search Keywords doesn't work on sub-folders

    I finally had to migrate from JASC (Corel) Photo Album to Adobe Photo Elements 9.  I had liked using JASC many years ago with the ability to add keywords (I have many) which were stored in a Access database.  With Windows Vista the keywords were stored in both the Access database and in the image file.  Prior to that it would have been near impossible to convert to any album software.  With a recent rebuild of my pc the keyword database in Corel Photo Album no longer worked.  Therefore, the migration to Photo Elements 9.  I like the robustness of Photoshop Elements 9 but .... and this is the problem.
    The intent of having keywords on images is to allow me to find any images that meet a search criteria.  After some testing I have found that if I search for a keyword on a single folder I have valid results.  If I search on a folder with sub-folders the search will not find any files that meet the criteria even though I can confirm that at least one subfolder has a file that meets the criteria.
    Could my problem be with how I loaded the images into PE9?  When I first started PE9 I pointed it to the folder with the majority of my images (23,000).
    Jerry

    Jerry,
    I assume that you are using folder view (Display option). If you switch to Thumbnail view, the search will look at all your images.
