Searching/No Service on iPhone 5 Wake

Over the last week I have a tremendous problem with my iPhone 5 (32gb ios 6.1.3).  When I wake up the phone to make a call (slide the unlock) it shows 1 bar...then Searching.....then NO SERVICE...then it finally shows 3/4/5 bars depending on where I'm located. (I'm located in a very good LTE area - Greensboro, NC)
I contacted the Verizon team and then went over all the level 1 stuff (reseting network, turning off and then on the cell data, etc)...verifying I was in a great LTE spot, etc.....and nothing fixed it.  They sent me to level 2 and they did a reset on the network side of my account as well as other steps.  They said that would fix it but of course it didn't.  The next morning I went to the Verizon store....they swapped out the SIM card and said that should fix the problem...And by that afternoon the problem continued. So I called them back and they went over the next level of support and this time after the problem continued they shipped me a new phone. They felt it was a hardware defect and the new phone would fix the issue.
So today the new phone arrived. I put my SIM card in the phone and activated, etc....Moved all apps and stuff over and finally finished everything up.  Phone worked great.....But then it went to sleep and all of the sudden the problem has surfaced again.  Im at a loss for words....
Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this to happen?  It would appear at face value to be an app issue with something I have installed but I wouldn't know where to begin.  I haven't installed anything in the last week and don't know why all of the sudden it is just happening.  Could an app be affecting this or even be a problem?

here is something even more confusing...the phone is currently sitting on a table...when it goes to sleep and I click the wake up to the unlock screen it shows 1 bar...then searching....then no service....
If I plug the phone in to the lightning cable connected to the computer it DOES NOT do the same thing....it actually wakes up and shows 4 bars LTE

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

  • Iphone 4s search for service - Verizon

My Iphone started searching for service and would not connect to the network. Verizon told me that is was not their issue and to take the phone to Apple. Bottom line Apple tried to reset the phone and now I am getting the -1 error in itunes. Apple told me the phone is broken and because its 1 1/2 years old, its out of warranty. After searching the internet, it seems to me my firmware got corrupted. The phone is not damgaed. I guess Apple does not stand behind its software/firmware.  Any comments????

A firmware corruption IS damage. Therefore you phone IS damaged. And unfortunately it is out of warranty. Did you try restoring the phone as new?
    Error -1
Attempt to restore your iOS device two more times. If the issue is still unresolved, the device may need service.

  • Unable to make or receive phone calls; searching for service.

Last night my iPhone 4 started constantly searching for service. I would get full bars in 3G then go to searching, no service, then back to full bars. It does this constantly. My battery drained by 50% within an hour. Any call I try to make instantly drops; I can't receive phone calls (or voicemails) and I can't send or receive texts unless I'm in WiFi. This just started last night. Any help?

    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/calls/
    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart..  Reset..  Restore from Backup..  Restore as New...
Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the Phone On...
If you cannot Resolve your Issue... Then a Restore would be the way to go...

  • Cycling--Searching, No Service, Signal!!!! Maybe a fix!

I think I figured out this problem. At random, my iPhone4 hits a snag. It will say AT&T 3G > Searching > No Service > 3G > AT&T and so on. This has happened to me at least 4 times already in the last 3 months. For several hours, it will do this and I can't call or text.
    FIX (and a safe fix):
Back up the iPhone4 in iTunes. Then perform a restore as a NEW iPhone4. Once the software is installed, right click on your iPhone4 in iTunes and click "Restore from Back up." Choose the backup you just made. This will copy all settings from all Apps back to the iPhone. It's like nothing ever happened to your phone. All texts, emails, games and all settings are back to normal.
    I know why it breaks...maybe
Now, I think I figured out why this is happening and I'd like feedback on this matter. I just discovered that my best friend was texting me with a photo attachment. Every time he does this, it knocks my phone service out of comission. I get the cycling Searching, no service, signal. Normal texts seem to work. Only attachment photos in the text break my iPhone4.
He has a Droid (I don't know his model number) through Verizon.
Can anyone help or comment on why this could be happening? Only his phone does this and I can't think of any of my other friends that use a Verizon Droid to test this.
    Help?!? Maybe? Flaw?

I have this problem, started yesterday. After an hour of the constant cycling I called AT&T. They said they're aware of this problem and can fix it. They couldn't tell me how it gets fixed but did tell me mine will be fixed by the 25th. I asked them to just switch my service back to my old iphone but they said it is not the phone, it's the network and I'd still have the issue. They said they think it is caused by texting media to another carrier or 2G phone, it gets our phones hung up on it and they continuously bounce back and forth between 2G and 3G. Call your carrier to get the fix, although mine is still broken till the 25th. What a nightmare! I have an useless iphone4 besides the 30 second window of connection. I hope this helps.

  • When I search for "find my iPhone" on my mac, it doesn't find the app.

So I have find my iphone installed on my iPhone & it finds my phone & my mac.
Now I'd like to install in on my mac. It's more practical that if I lose my iPhone I'll use my Mac to find it.
When I search for "find my iPhone" in the App store, it can't find any apps by that name.
    Closest is find my mouse.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Location Services > scroll down to Find My iPhone, tap and turn location services ON.

  • What does the Cell Network Search do on the iPhone 4s?

What may happen if I turn Cell Network Search off on my iPhone 4s. It's under location services scroll all the way down to system services. Will I not be able make or receive calls?

Yes, go ahead and turn it off.  It SENDS location based information to Apple for their use (marketing, trouble shooting, who knows all or what).  Basically it records the tower ID of the towers within range of your phone as you move around throught the day and sends that back to Apple.  Since the location of the towers is known, they then get information about where people are most using iPhones during the day, what the loads in different areas are, and other stuff that lets them learn about how and where iPhones are being used.
It has NOTHING to do with how your iPhone actually functions normally, so you can disable all of the services listed there ifyou wish.
Compass calibration MAY be useful in some cases - I know when I was trying Waze, it often could not get a reliable position fix until I re-enabled compass calibration.  I don't know why that was, as all I know about compass calibration is it supposedly allows for a more accurate correction between geographic and magnetic north.  But at least with Waze, it clearly assisted Waze in getting and holding a location fix when driving, in areas and at times when without it on, Waze was unable to track my movement, or sometimes even get a fix at all.
Setting time zone - IF you were traveling across time zones, and were out of range of a cell tower (so no cell signal to correct your clock) or your clock failed to change correctly once you had cell signal again, then turning this on may help correct the clock.  Note that from posts here, usually you just need turn it on, let the clock correct itself, and then can turn it off and the clock will be fine (it just helps when you've shifted multiple time zones with no cell signal for the phone to correct itself by during the journey).
The other four in that list, I have never enabled as you just don't need them for anything, and they do use power every time they use location services and everytime they send data.

  • Is it possible to change a new one if the Iphone 5 wake button is not working?

I heard the iphone 5 wake up button has a disign defect. Will they give me a free repairing even my iphone is over warranty?

Heard from who?  Unless it was Apple, assume they are full of manure.
There are no design issues with the iPhone 5.
Warranty is one year from date of purchase, beyond that, hardware issues are handled via an Out of Warranty replacement which is $269US.

  • HT204053 Can I search or locate different iPhone devices using one apple ID?

    Hello!
Can I search or locate different iphone devices using one apple I.D.?
    Thanks!

You can only use Find My iPhone for accounts that you can log into.  If you and your neighbor have different IDs and you only know your ID, than you can only track devices attached to your account.

  • Search in: "Service Registry" option doesnt appear - Configuration

    Hello,
I´ve tried the configuration of the Visual Composer for searching in Service Registry but I still cant see in the search in field the option "Service Registry". I´ve configured the destination type Service Registry to my physical system (destionation template management) but I still have the problem. I used this guides:
       /people/rudolf.held/blog/2007/10/18/browsing-the-services-registry-of-es-workplace-in-visual-composer
       http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/48/0c886211e525cde10000000a42189c/frameset.htmI
I have SAP EHP1 for SAP NWCE 7.1
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
I changed my configuration following this tutorial,
       http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/4094345f-341f-2b10-86a0-86a6309f1a0b
In the tutorial, there is no need for creating a service registry of type ABAP, it used JAVA pointing to the local service registry (where its suppose to be all the services of the company). So I did this, and the Service Registry appears in my search in field of the Visual Composer. But, when I try to search something, it shows me "Search returned no results". I dont know if I have missed some step. when I search in http://localhost:port/sr, I find all my services. It seems the service registry its not linked at all.
    Thanks
    Regards

  • Samsung Note 3 Lollipop Stuck at Searching For Service...

I have terrible signal strength at work and often completely lose cell reception.  Ever since I've updated my Samsung Note 3 to 5.0, whenever I completely lose cell signal for hours and I go outside, my phone will not pick up the mobile network again.  It's stuck at the "Searching For Service" part.  I have to restart my phone and I'm immediately back on the mobile network.  On 4.4.3, it would pick back up in a few seconds once I step outside.

    siyang99,
Thanks for the additional info! I can definitely understand your concern. Being able to use your phone for work is definitely important.
You mentioned the issue is only at work and the hard reset has not helped. If the issue were due to software you would experience the same issues everywhere. We are unable to guarantee service indoors because there are many factors out of control that can interfere with the signal. But I definitely want to further assist since you have been able to use your phone there before.
I checked the coverage in that area and show good coverage. What's the signal strength on your phone when at work http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-88700/? We can try replacing your SIM card to see if you notice an improvement. You can get the sim card replaced at a VZW store for free or we can order and send one out to you.
