Searching Tahiti is broken

Hello,
when I enter a search at tahiti.oracle.com I get the "Summary of Documentation" page with results linked by Oracle version as expected. Even the next step works, e.g. if I click results for 10gR2 I get a list of hits in the 10R2 docu. But each link from there leads me to http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/index.html.
For results about 11R2 I always get a 404
Steps:
At http://tahiti.oracle.com/ I enter "execute immediate" and get
http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/print_hit_summary?search_string=execute+immediate
For 10R2 I get http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/search?remark=quick_search&word=execute+immediate&tab_id=&format=ranked
and from there on it does not work.
Regards
Marcus

It seems now the search functionality itself is broken. I am not getting even search results now. Sometimes browser has "Waiting for download.oracle.com..." for a long long time and gives no results in the end.

Search & replace is broken in 10.9.4 Finnish OS X-version.
This is global in the OS X.
I Found it out, when I tried to copy & paste & search and replace in the Xcode. After that in the Pages, and after that in the basic text editor.
Search & replace just do not nothing. Not even an error message.
Restarting system do not help, but turning OS X to english version transfers the problem to /dev/null 2>&1
This is really ******* me off. I REALLY do not want to use my OS X for english because of that, at then copy & paste & replace works. ARGH! This causes whacking delays to my coding work!

  • EXIF "Flash" Search/Smart Album Broken?

It appears that, in Aperture 3.1.1, trying to search the EXIF Flash value using a Search or a Smart Album is broken. My Nikon puts the values "Flash did not fire" and "Flash fired" in the Flash field, however, trying to search for EXIF includes "fired", or anything else for that matter, returns an empty set. (I did get a set of about 6 photos in a project with 228 photos when I entered includes 0. Everything else fails.)
Is anyone else having this issue? Any work-arounds? I'm trying to select all of the "flash" photos and the "non-flash" photos to be able to adjust the white balance appropriately. Any better ideas on how to do that?

Works here with AP 3.1.1 and Nikon D80 images as follows:
Select 'Photos' in Library Inspector > New Smart Album
Add Rule > EXIF > Flash; Includes; Flash fired (or Flash did not fire) > 'Return' (Enter) key to apply.
Works as expected, but I had to use the correct wording and spacing used by the Metadata EXIF field.
If it still doesn't work for you, I can only think you might want to try the Troubleshooting Basics:

    Good luck.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 search feature seems broken....

I have occasional need to search a company schedule published in .pdf format. When I recently installed Acrobat Pro 9 on my WinXP machine I let it become the default application for opening .pdf files. However, if I open the schedule document in question in Acrobat Pro the search engine doesn't work.
By doesn't work I mean I search for a word and the search stops on some unrelated word, or partial word, and never finds what I'm looking for. If I open the same document in Acrobat Reader 8.1 the same search still works fine.
I've tried all the search options in Pro full word, etc) I can find to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions what the problem might be?
    tia

I had this problem with some of our users.
I solved it by opening the PDF file in question.
    I went to File>Preferences>Search
I then clicked "Purge Cache Contents"
That appeared to resolve the issue.

  • Installed Yosemite and mail search is now broken.

I have installed Yosemite today. Now when I search in mail for a particular sender or subject no mails return. Do I need to reindex my mailboxes? Do I need to do something else?  Please help.

Deleted Home/Library/Mail/V2/Envelope* and restarted mail. The indexes are rebuilding. This is a slow process for a large mailbox.

  • Search seems weak/broken

The search function doesn't seem to work very well. I can
search for words that I *KNOW* exist, and it will tell me no
results found, or give fewer results than it should. For example,
today I searched for "pastels" and it tells me "No Results Found
For: pastels". I've also noticed that it seems to be overly picky,
for example not finding words just because the case is different,
or because the search term is part of a larger word (for example,
"pastel" should also find "pastels" but in my tests it doesn't, or
at least not consistently). Actually, at the moment none of my
searches are working at all. Earlier I had some success, but still
    it was acting overly fussy.

    Hi Sami,
Yes, I had already tried the asterisk method, and it worked
... at least when the search was working (it stopped working
completely for me after that ... haven't tried again yet).
However, these days requiring an asterisk is a bit outdated.
Google and Spotlight automatically search for keywords within
larger words. I don't think most users expect to need to use it
except for complicated matches, like an asterisk in the middle of a
    word, etc.

  • ITunes Store Search, Broken the last 4 days

On and off the itunes store search has been broken for the last four days. Searching the store for a specific author "courtney brown" will time out about 2 minutes later with a "504" error. Trying anything else does the same. It's been this way on and off for the last four days, my friends on IM say the sam thing.
When is Apple going to fix this? I'm really frustrated so much so that I signed up with audible.com to buy my audiobooks because there webpage search isn't broken like Apple's iTunes.
try searching for hemi-sync or something else it just hangs!
    Annoyed customer...

I'm not happy with iTunes Store search either. I haven't gotten a timeout error but sometimes, I'll be searching for something I know is there, and iTS search can't find it. Google has been helpful in those cases. Google found your hemi-sync download on iTunes:

  • How Do I Make a Complete Search Of My Mac

I have a new iMac with the latest version of Yosemeti.  I am in the process of transferring every thing from my old MacPro to my new iMac.  I occasionally need to make searches of my iMac (particularly including the Library folders) to ensure something is present.  How do I do that?

Not sure if this will help but Finder Search in Yosemite works slightly differently from that in my Snow Leopard which if not done right ends up displaying a blank.
First off make sure you have highlighted the area you wish to search in the side bar, it normally defaults to your Home folder so for system you need to highlight "Macintosh HD". Enter the file or fold name you wish to search for in the Search Box, this should give you a drop-down showing the same name - select it. Next click "+" to show two more options, for "kind" click and at the bottom chose "system files" and then next to it change "aren't include" to "are included". If you don't have "system files" as an option chose "other" and scroll the attribute list and tick it - select ok and you should then have it available.
If all went well you should see your file/folder name displayed in the window, click on it will the show its path along the bottom so you can navigate to its location.
Have seen various reports that Finder Search can be broken by updates and re-indexing may help but try the above remembering to select search location first in the side bar.

  • A Firefox search bar virus has taken hold of my system and wont let go! Is there any way I can avoid uninstalling Firefox every day to get rid of this?

The situation: Whenever I go to use the address bar or the small search toolbar (which is set to google) in my window, the search engine used instead is "search.searchcompletion.com", which returns very shitty search results and is annoying.
The things I have tried to fix this:
First, I disabled and deleted all my add-ons, changed my homepage back to google and updated my search engine to google. Tested search bar, *still infected* RESULT: NEGATIVE
Second, I downloaded a anti-virus/anti-malware program called Malwarebytes. It did good, catching 28 virus's in various files, quarantining them, and deleting them. I tested the search bar, *still infected* RESULT: NEGATIVE
Third, I read about typing in "about:config" into the Firefox address bar and changing a few things, as explained <a href="http://deletemalware.blogspot.com/2011/09/remove-startsearch-and.html">here</a>. I tested the search bar, *still broken*. RESULT: NEGATIVE
Fourth, I read you can "manually delete the virus from your registery". I followed the instuctions carefully, deleting these strings: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main “Start Page”
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Control Panel “HomePage”. Tested the search bar, *still infected* RESULT: NEGATIVE
Fifth, someone somewhere installed a special add on that blocked certain sites. Whatever I did it did not work, the site (search.searchcompletion.com) just lost it's formatting, but still did not let me search using google. RESULT: NEGATIVE
Fifth, I just uninstalled everything having to do with Firefox from my computer. I reinstalled it and tested the search bar and it worked!....
For 24 hours. When I turned on my computer today, the search.searchcompletion virus is back, and short of uninstalling Firefox, I do not know what to do.
    I have no add-ons.
I have deleted temp internet files
    I have virus protection
    I have tried everything.
    Help me.

Plugins usually are installed externally to Firefox. However, you can disable them in Firefox so that Firefox does not use them.
SearchReset is supposed to automate the task of resetting certain preferences, but you still can edit them manually if necessary.
    '''''Address Bar Search'''''
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''keyword''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Right-click '''keyword.URL''' and choose Reset. This should restore Google as the default for address bar search.
    Does that work?
    '''''Search Box'''''
Usually it works to choose your preferred search engine from the drop-down. To remove an unwanted search engine plugin, usually the Manage Search Engines... choice at the bottom of the drop-down takes care of it.
    Do either of those work?
There might be another way to hijack that search box; I think some of the other frequent responders probably are more familiar with it than I am.

  • Archive folder missing from Mail & search not working

I've been having trouble getting the Archive mailbox to appear in Mail. What's worse, often the search function is broken, and Mail doesn't turn up any search results. I've found some ways to get the Archive folder to reappear, but these only seem to help temporarily. For instance, clicking on the gear at the bottom left and selecting "Get Account Info" then selecting the Archive folder causes it to reappear, but this is only temporary and it disappears after another restart or sometimes after an hour or two. The search not working is the worst, as it sometimes is working and sometimes isn't. I don't have any idea what's causing this, but I am at my wit's end because I NEED Mail to be firing on all cylinders.

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
What are your selections in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced for this Gmail account, if using IMAP, regarding keeping message for Offline use? The Mail search can only access the list of messages to search Subject, From, etc, but not the entire message unless copies of all messages are being kept on the computer. This would be true for any IMAP account, btw.
    More info, please.

  • Search functionality no longer works in any of my recently generated HTML Help projects

I'm using Rh 10.0.1.292 and Rh 11.0.4.291 for different projects.
Recently, I've noticed that the Search feature returns no results, in any of my projects that are generated in either Rh10 or 11. I just get the "No topics found" message. This used to work.
The only thing that has been done recently (that I can think of) involved working with .slp files to fix an issue with the Glossary tab and the Search functionality in a Rh 11 Responsive HTML5 layout. (https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1690579) I can't, however, see how that would break the Search functionality in my HTML projects.
    Any ideas?

In either Rh 10 and 11, whenever I generated a project as HTML Help (even an example project) the Search functionality was broken. Finally, when I couldn't think of what else to try, I uninstalled and reinstalled Rh 10, and that solved my problem--in both Rh 10 and 11!
Apparently some file was corrupted, but I don't know what was broken or what caused the corruption. I am still trying to get some clarification from Adobe, but so far, I have only received the following comments:
The robohelp cache folder and the preferences might have caused this.
The problem can be either with the updates on system.
If I should receive any definitive information, I will update this post.
    Thanks.
