Searching 'Title' and 'Caption' metadata

I've searched a bit on this and am not getting anywhere. The issue I am having is when I apply content to the Title and Caption fields of metadata, they are not searcheable. Meaning, when I use the 'Find' section on the sidebar, it doesn't locate images that I have confirmed have the content I am searching for. I've made sure that when using 'Find,' I have all 'Anywhere' selected for 'Text' and 'Contains Any' for 'Rule.' Also, 'All Dates' is selected for 'Date.'
I can't help but think I am missing something amazingly simple.
Thanks in advance.

jimburgess, John O'Connor, DonRicklin...thanks for the help. Although I thought I had made extremely sure that I had no other filters in place to skew my metadata search results, I must have missed something. Although I can't remember exactly what it was that made my search start working, I believe it was related to both apply "cmd-L" to start fresh and then looking under the 'Folders' panel to see matching photos as some of you had recommended.
Really appreciate the help.

  • What's the difference and purpose of Keywording and metadata such as title and caption etc?

What's the difference and purpose of Keywording and metadata such as title and caption, crator, sublocation , label etc?  Where & how is the information used?  Where does it appear?

Keywording is primarily for your own use for finding photos fast.
Title, Caption, etc are also for your own use but can be used by your clients or your stock company if you do not <Minimize Embedded Metadata> on export. Keywords are also included on export but are hardly of any use to others - unless you follow a standard for keywording.
You have the option of selecting title, caption, etc to appear in a Slide Show, on Print, or on a webpage created with LR.
If you go to the LR Help menu and type "title", or "caption" in the search box you will find plenty of advice for this.

  • URGENT- Exporting jpg from LR with title and captions: how?

    Hi,
I need to email some pix before midnight.
In LR metadata section I have info (title and caption). I did export pix as JPGs but can't find the info when I open the pictures now in a folder on my desktop.
How can I make sure the info is attached to the photo? Should I uncheck "Minimize metadata"?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Photo Titles and Captions on Ipad Mini 3

I want to add titles and captions to my photos on my new Ipad Mini 3 - just like you can do in iPhoto on a mac desktop, though I understand this has been discontinued for the ipad mini. It seems quite absurd that I can't name and file my photos properly in the main photos app (beyond selecting to put into albums) - has anyone found a good solution, add-on or way around this? I'm an iPad newbie so the answer may be obvious! Thanks for your help guys.

Hi, Yes you can add captions, edit and add titles.  Just go to the app store and type in the search box what you are looking for.  Example Photo captions, photo collage or what ever you are looking for.  You will then see what apps are available to buy.  Have Fun!

  • Ibooks author inspection widget: grayed-out title and caption options when object is selected

I'm trying to add titles or captions to photos in an iBooks Author project. I select the photo, click on Inspector and Widget, then Layout.  The only active option on Layout is the Accessibility Notes.  Is this a bug? What am I missing?

    Right.
You can create text boxes next to an image for title and caption, but otherwise, those are attributes for a widget with media.

  • When I export a group of jpg's from RAW files, only the first one retains it's title and caption.

If I try to export a handful of images at the same time, the title and caption is stripped out at export. This happens on 5, 15 or 50 images. If I export them one by one the information is retained. It seems to me that only the first or one image can retain it's title and caption.
Does anyone know why and how to fix this?

Very strange. Haven't heard of any similar reports, so it doesn't sound like a very common problem. Maybe try resetting your preferences file, but if that doesn't work all I can suggest is to raise the problem at the official Adobe feedback site.
For resetting the preferences file, see here:

How can I restore iPhoto titles and captions to iPhoto JPEGs sent to, and opened in, Aperture 3?

Thank you very much, Kirby.  Your suggestion was exactly what I needed.  It proved to be a big help even to my One-to-One Aperture trainer at the Naperville IL Apple store.  My slideshow text, caption, and music attributes also were carried over intact to the new Aperture 3 environment.  - A.Z.

  • Keyboard shortcut for editing titles and captions

    Hi there,
I'd like to edit the titles and captions of a bunch of photos (the contents of an album, for example), and I'd like to know if there is some combination of keyboard shortcuts so that I can do it which constantly using the mouse.
In other words, I'd like to edit the title of a photo, the caption, then the title of the next photo, the caption, etc.
    Any suggestions?

  • How can i type international alphabet characters into keywords, title, and captions in Lightroom 4?

How can i type international alphabet characters into keywords, titles, and Captions in Lightroom 4?  Usual Microsoft key shortcuts not working.

I haven't found a way to do that directly, but there is a workaround. It' s a bit cumbersome, so it's only good for the occasional character.
In MS Word or any other text editor create a file that contains all the international characters you need.
When you need to insert one of these characters into Lr (captions, title, keywords) copy the character from your text document and paste it into Lr where needed.
    On Windows Ctrl + C / V works fine.

  • Titles and Captions

I imported an album from iPhoto. All the photos were titled and captioned. The pictures showed up just fine in iMovie, but non of the titles or captions. Do I have to redo all that or is there some way to have them show up?

Matt--The problem with iDVD is that all captions and titles are displayed against a blackish grid that cuts off the bottom of a lot of the photos. This grid shows up even if there isn't a title or caption.
In my first attempt to burn a disk from iDvd, it played fine for about 10 minutes. Then froze up and displayed the message "system error 69902". I couldn't go forward or back.

  • Title and Caption

I have crated a slideshow of still photos and included a title for each image.
The title appears in a box that goes on top of the image.
Why does it do this when there is plenty of blank space on either side of the image?
Is it possible to change where the title of an image appears on the screen?

Is it possible to change where the title of an image appears on the screen?
It is in DVDSP. But I'm not sure how to do this in iDVD yet (nor if it's even possible). I'll keep looking though and post back should I find something else.
Btw ... You can't change the style or size of text for titles and comments in an iDVD slideshow. But you can in DVDSP.
A less expensive option to DVDSP might be 3rd party apps like:
