Question

I see the following application error on SearchProtocolHost.exe several times a minute on my Windows 2008 R2 server. What is wrong and how do I fix this? I am using Office 2010 if it matters.

the CPU performance on this machine is near 100% unless I disable the Windows Search Service.
Would you please let me know whether this Application error (Event ID 1000) still generate when you disabled
Windows Search service to reduce CPU usage? Just a confirmation. Thanks for your understanding.
Please run
sfc/ scannow command to scan all protected system files. Meanwhile, would you please let me know whether install any third-party application in the Windows Server 2008 R2? Please perform
a Clean Boot to eliminate software conflicts and check if this issue still exists.

I am using Office 2010 if it matters.
Would you please let me confirm whether install Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 1? If installed, please
open System Properties and navigate to Advanced tab, then click “Environment Variables…” button. In Environment Variables, please edit Path in System variables and then add the Office 14 folder to the end of it. Then restart the server and check if can help
you.
