SEC Network/sports networks

I know that down south SEC Network is offered; however, considering you offer the Big 10 network and the Longhorn network nationwide I don't see how a network for such a huge fanbase isn't offered. Especially for the Ultimate Package. Can we please get more sports channels, especially in HD?

Verizon Fios needs to add the SEC network so we can watch decent football games. How laughable is it that the carry thr LHN that nobody watches but have not yet signed up to carry the SEC network?

Can any Verizon Rep confirm that CBS Sports Network is now part of ExtremeHD?

It seems that CBS Sports Network has now been added to the ExtremeHD package but I've yet to find any official word from Verizon. There is a thread at DSL Reports that confirms ExtremeHD customers can now receive channel 94 and PrimeHD cannot so that rules out any Free Preview. Would be nice for Verizon to be the first to notifiy their PAYING customers about channel changes, like the Tennis Channel last year, but it seems it's always after the fact.
Any Verizon Rep care to comment?

Out of Market sports networks

Will there ever be the possibility of an out of market sports network package like directv has with it's sports pak? Also why is the MLB extra innings package being offered through the in demand networks which has limited availability of hd games. This is my only regret with Fios so far. It's time for verizon to negotiate agreements for these sports options instead of using an outside subscripition service. Then trully superior service without regrets will be the benchmark!

Never saying never, I doubt there will be a sports pak like DirecTv has. It's not cost effective for Verizon to try and carry all these Regional Sports Nets in places they do not have service to. DirecTv being a national satellite company has the RSN's already on the services so it's easy to put together a sports pak.
I also would love it if InDemand would push more HD games and let the cable companies take as many as they can fit in their bandwidth. It's 2009 InDemand, get on the horse!

I have a PC running with Win7 and just replaced my Jensen With a brand New Airport Extreme.
I have set up the Airport Extreme to the internet, Iphones and Ipads and it work as it should.
I have downloaded latest Version of Airport tool on my PC. In addition i have downloaded the airport tool for Ipad.
I have reset one of my airport Express and it now shows up both on the Ipad and on the PC airport tool.
My Ipad says "base station e5713b cannot be configured."
I have wired the airport Express to my Ethernet to be able to "see it" on my Airport tool.
My AirPort tool on the PC will not permit me to add the airport Express to my new Airport Extreme network (no network names on the drop-down list to choose from). I wished for an easy set-up, but nothing seems to be plug and play as the Commercial says.. can you please help me?

Yep - I in fact have two A1088 and one A1264
I actually bought the new router because the Jensen
router always lost connection to the Airport Express after some hours or days. I
always needed to restart my Jensen to play music and that was driving my wife
mad. The hope was that the Extreme should fix this. Both A1088 have been set up
to only stream music to two of my stereo amplifiers from my PC’s Itunes library.
Are the A1088 now useless?
The A1264 has been set up to feed internet into a Denon Reciever that needed Ethernet cable.

Almost every day when I open my computer I get this message:

We then have to go through the process of resetting everything from start to finish just so I can connect to the server. There is no reason that we can find that causes this other than maybe windows updating every night. Any suggestions as to how to
fix this?

it sounds like you have a network drive you are trying to map even though you are not logged in maybe in a script or task instead of backing up to :P backup to the share, make sure you have security set properly to run the task when not logged on.
I assume you are running a backup of some sort as this is the backup forum..

By connecting MBP to wireless network, kills network.

So here is a crazy one.
I just got a work issued brand new MBP, and as soon as i try to connect it to my network, the network goes down. All the lights are lit on my modem and router and I even called the cable company and they didn't see any issues on their end. As soon as I reset the router and modem it starts working fine, but as soon as I try to connect the new MBP, it kills it again. Craziest thing I have seen. What could possibly be killing my network on this MBP?
I have another mbp, an imac, two iphones, an ipad, and appletv on the network without anything issues.

You have not provided any detail about your setup, connection, equipment, or configuration so any response will be a guess.
I guess you have not configured your computer and to use DHCP.
Second guess, you have not correctly set up your wifi security on your router and computer.
Third guess, you configured your computer incorrectly to share its network connection.
My suggestion, use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to the router and check its settings and security. Once you get that connection working try setting up your wifi connection.
Provide more detail.

Can't map network drive - Network Error 0x800704cf I've tried EVERYTHING (that I can think of)

I've had this issue for months now but I really can't take it anymore, I NEED to be able to map a shared drive (I have all privileges for it) and every time I try I get an error code 0x800704cf, my computer has been formatted 4 times and after that
I works for about a month and then it goes back to the same crap,

Windows 8.1 has better sharing that works properly, I have seen issues with Windows 7, which prompted me to use a server to handle to problem

Samsun Gusto 3 Unable to access My Verizon- Error, Network Problem, Network Unavailable

I have a new Samsung Gusto 3.
When I click on Settings- My Verizon, I get an error - Unable to access My Verizon- Error, Network Problem, Network Unavailable. My wife has a similar phone and hers works just fine.
I have had the phone now for about two weeks and the problem is still there.

I do not know what ‘data blocks’ are. This phone is brand new – now only two weeks old. I brought it to replace an older phone. That older phone had no problem accessing ‘My Verizon’ – so when I did a simple ‘replace’ of my old phone with the new one – everything should continue to work as before. BUT it does not access My Verizon.
That is all I know. When I bought the new phone, I just followed the prompts to transfer my account to the new one.
My plan is Basic pay as you go.

Extending Airport Extreme Network Slows Network Dramatically

Hello, after I extended my airport network I experienced dramatically reduced network speeds. Here is my configuration:
ISP is cable modem with very decent speeds.
Base Station is Airport Extreme (802.11n capable) / with gigabit ethernet (in garage)
Secondary router is Time Capsule 802.11n WiFi hard drive (also gigabit ethernet capable (on my desk at other end of the house).
What works OK is connecting base station to secondary router using ethernet, base station with wireless enabled, but secondary router (Time Capsule) with wireless set to Off. I have the latest versions of Airport Utility and firmware installed everywhere.
"Ain't broke, don't fix it" you may say, BUT I did want to extend the range of the wireless network. So I followed the steps to extend an 802.11n wireless network:
( - Base Station: Create Network / Allow network to be extended;
- Remote Station: Extend Network, selecting my network, allow wireless clients)
Everything seemed to complete successfully; two green lights glow in Airport Utility and one on each device. However, the network slowed to a crawl. It was so bad that I had to back out the changes and revert to my initial configuration. The extended range of my wireless network was just not worth the terrible performance penalty.
The network slowdown seems to be experienced by all clients, including another Mac which is connected via Ethernet to the Gigabit Base Station (not to the Time Capsule - directly to the base station). So this suggests that the extension to the wireless network slowed down the whole network. (Btw, it's not just internet connections that were affected. I tried connecting between the Macs using the Finder and it was painfully slow - taking roughly a minute to connect.) To me it seems that something must be very wrong, I just don't know what!
So my questions:
1. I had hoped that the gigabit connection between the routers (which seems to work fine when only the base station supports wireless clients) would continue to work when the Time Capsule is used to extend the wireless network. Is this true, or in this mode does it switch to operating as a wireless client itself? (If so, this might partly explain why my office Mac slows down so much; it would now be connecting to the cable modem via wireless, not gigabit.
2. I'm guessing, (but I haven't tried it yet), that I might be able to achieve almost what I want to do by creating a different network using Time Capsule. Does anyone have any experience doing this? If so, what suggestions do you have?

SCVMM Network Virtualization - simulate DMZ network inside network virtualization

Here is my question. Is the following scenario possible. HyperV 2012R2 hosts, SCVMM2012r2.
I create a new VM Network (with network isolation) and create VMs on that network (with SCVMM). I'll call this network Corpnet.
Is it possible to have a separate network that is also virtualized that can act as the DMZ network for the Corpnet?
I'm having trouble to make this work. VM networks are working as expected.
1. I tried creating two separete VM networks and creating a VM that has two network interfaces on both VM networks with the RRAS role and LAN routing. But I cant make the traffic be routed from one VM Network to the other one. (in this example I change the
gateway on the network cards for the VMs on the two VM Networkis to point to the VMRouter interfaces.)
2. I tried creating two VLANs on the same VM network . I use again a VM as a router.The traffic starts behaving weird and doesn't pass through the VMRouter but goes directly between the two VLANs. (in this example I change the gateway on the network cards
for the VMs on the two VLANs to point to the VMRouter interfaces.)

If SCVMM is in control of the network virtualization setup, it won't swallow traffic, it will forward according to its configuration rules.
If SCVMM defined the gateway as 192.168.0.1 (always the first IP in the subnet) then that is the routing that is setup. And your router VM must have that IP on that subnet. And, SCVMM must have provisioned that VM with that IP.
The customer routes and rules are the definitions of how the virtual network knows where to forward what. These are the routing rules and SCVMM is in control.
If you manually edit network settings within a VM, SCVMM won't put it back, but the networking rules won't align with those edits and thus traffic will happen, but the virtual switch won't know where to send it, so it 'disappears'.
SCVMM is unaware of your different gateways. And thus does not have them established in the routing rules in the virtual switches.

Extending a network - "Join network" or "participate in WDS"?

Struggling with adding a new APE to my network, and trying different settings out. (OSX10.5.2)
I initially set up the remote APE as "join existing network". This allowed it to join the network, but it isn't being accessed by my Macs.
Working through the Help files, I decided to try setting it up as a WDS remote.I put all the settings in (including the ID of the base station), and updated the settings. Now the light on the APE is flashing amber, and not showing up in the network, so I guess that's the wrong approach.
Or is it? Which is the best approach for extending a network using a 2nd APE - join existing network, or become a WDS remote station?

To extend the range of your wifi, set up WDS or set it up to 'extend the wireless network'. Setting it to "join a network" just lets the APE join the network like any other wireless device (laptop, phone etc) it doesn't actually extend anything. It does let you use it to stream tunes to it, but it doesn't boost the range. If you set it to 'extend the wireless network' you can get it to boost the signal AND stream music to it. If you use WDS it extends your network by adding a second hotspot to your network. (So say your network name is "network", and you add a WDS point in another room, you'll see "network" and "network 2" as access points)

This is a totally absurd suggestion, except that it worked for me with my iPad. Forget the network, then when asked for the password, enter a wrong one. Try again and enter the correct password. Good luck.

Ort Express- my network suddenly not showing up. System preferences, advanced/network shows network. Opened Airport Utility options grayed out except configure other but no luck. No set up assistant option to reenter. Not sure where to go from here?.

My network suddenly not showing up. Openend system preferences/Network & my network is there. When I open Airport Utility, most option are grayed out except "configure other" with no change. Utility does not provide option for setup assistant where I could just start over. So no wifi without network set up and can't use ethernet/router to troubleshoot. I am stuck any assistance helpful.

So I went back to the PC after my original post, and somehow I was able to connect to the AirPort wireless network in the Windows Wireless Network List. Once I did this, it showed up in the AirPort Utility, and I was able to access the internet. I have no idea what fixed the problem, but maybe it was simply a matter of waiting a few minutes before connecting to the network?

Lost Time Machine and Network when Network Cable Unplugged Briefly

Hi,
I rearranged my desk and unplugged time machine (airport) from my network. When I plugged it back in it had gone to default settings with no sign of my previous network. I had to set up a whole new network and set up time machine as if it was new. When I finished and opened time machine I can see the previous files I had saved on it (by creating folders on it- something I won't mess with again), but have no idea where all the backups are. It still had all my default info on it (It new it's name but no sign of my previous network). Fortunately I just bought a new macbook pro so I'd already duplicated my data and I don't need the backups but is there a way to redirect time machine so it sees them? It also used to say that it was full and now the light is green and no warning about being out of space and overwriting my old files. I'm afraid to mess with it.
What happened? Anyone else experience this?

I'm very confused.
Some of this may be terminology problems:
*+Time Machine*+ is Apple's software that performs backups.
An +*Airport Extreme+* is a wireless router that you can connect a USB drive to.
A *+Time Capsule+* is Apple hardware combining a wireless router and HD.
In one place you say you'd set up Time Machine, but in another you mention creating folders on "it" (I'm not sure what "it" is).
Could you clarify your setup please?
